Hudson name will live on after Konami takeover

We're still not sure if Konami will take the Hudson bee out back and put two tiny bullets into its brain, Old Yeller style, but Konami at least plans to keep the Hudson name around. According to a notice spotted on the company's site by Andriasang, Hudson branded products and services will continue to be developed post-acquisition.

The Hudson website will also stay open after Konami takes over the company on March 1. And while the last few years haven't given us much cause to celebrate Hudson, we're sure there are a few people out there who'd like to see the bee stick around -- one of them is a person we actually know!

I think it's just called "Hudson bee". It has no real name to my knowledge, since it's no actual character from a game or something.

Come on Konami. Bloody Roar 5, make it happen.

I would've agreed were it not for the fact that I'd want BR5 to essentially be Powerstone and not an overglorified cage brawler with worse-looking character redesigns and even more forgettable story than a Cynthia Rothrock movie.

@Sho Minamimoto I do respect the Bloody Roar Franchise, especially the first two games for PS One. I Hope that I can enjoy one more time of a new Bloody Roar game! :D

@Teeree This is as upsetting as when I was spoiled on Citizen Kane. Jerk just comes up and says "it was his sled".

Hudson Soft has a long list of great games. However, one game sticks in my mind that I played and beat a ton of times as a kid.

Something about that game I always loved. Pretty awesome game in my book. Xexyz and Crystalis are probably my two favorite under appreciated NES games.

Bomberman lives!

@dfnshow This. Put Brink of Extinction out finally on XBLA,PSN,Wiiware. The was game was practically complete and ready for release, until the Konami buyout came into place.

Hmm, I can't remember what my last Hudson game was...or rather, I only remember seeing the Hudson logo on one particular game I played...and that was Toy Story 2 for the N64.

Remake Adventure Island. Go!

Also, a giant ass new bomberman with like 16-32 players at once would be cool too.

So many good ips from Hudson. Konami would be fools to not ressurect a few of them...which a lot of you listed so I'll refrain from doing so

I think this clears the way for DC vs Konami. They can field a roster of Alucard, Simon Belmont, Snake, Bill and Lance from Contra, an Orbital Frame, Alessa Gillespie, Pyramid thing, Master Higgins, Bomberman, Bonk, and toss in some Bloody Roar characters.

I loved bomberman adventure on gbc when u was younger :)

A Bomberman with Simon Belmont and Solid Snake as multiplayer characters.

I just want to see another TurboGrafx console. Alas, it'll never happen, but I can dream...

Does this mean we'll still get Bonk 3DS? I seriously want to play that new Bonk game they have for the 3DS and Wii.

Bomberman 64 was my favorite Hudson game.

Hudson has a massive collection of IPs, I'd love them to reboot Shubibinman.
