Pummel history's worst Mega Man in Street Fighter X Tekken

When two universes butt heads in Street Fighter X Tekken, everyone's likely to see some weird stars. Pac-Man emerges from Namco's archives to join the bout (thanks to some mechanical assistance), while Capcom offers its most tragic and bewildering version of Mega Man. His awkward pose on the American box art for Mega Man 1 has been an inexhaustible source of Face X Palm, so it's tough turning down a chance to knock him senseless.

As with Sony's Kuro and Toro cats and that other inFamous man, Pac-Man and the unhyphenated Mega Man are exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of Street Fighter X Tekken.

Fail. That's not MM1 Mega Man, it's American MM1 box art Mega Man. Not the same. He did NOT look like that in MM1, or in the game's Japanese box art (which was the ORIGINAL MM1 box art); just in the awful American box art.

No kidding. That's the most console-exclusive characters I've ever seen for a multi-platform title. Never mind the fact that none of those characters are even sort of related to Street Fighter or Tekken (apart from parent companies).

Honestly, it's like Capcom keeps trying to remind me why I refuse to purchase any of its new titles. What a joke.

I love the Mega Man rendition. It's amazing.

I also love that none of the exclusive characters have absolutely anything to do with Street Fighter OR Tekken, yet they just threw them in for the lulz. :P

I can't tell if you're agreeing that they're omitted from the 360 version for no reason or saying it stinks for no reason... :p Assuming the former: Yeah. I don't get it. I don't really mind that the PS3 and Vita get exclusive Sony characters, since the 360 has had its fair share of exclusives over the years. But I fail to understand why Pac-Man and Mega Man are excluded for the 360 crowd, obviously not being Sony-related characters. It just seems like the other camp is being shit on.

And I know this isn't why I was downvoted (oh, you!) but I didn't mean to imply the implementation of Mega Man is lame. I think it's hilarious.

Capcom has something going on that we don't know about.

Canceling MML3, not in MvC3, no new Megaman games, TONS of backlash from fans, and now this?

No company in their right mind not only ignores one of the biggest money making names in their respective industry, but also slings poo at their fans at the same time. At least: not without something to show for it.

It could be a marketing ploy to release a new MM game that everyone will gobble up. That's my guess honestly.

The only thing that sucks is that I have to keep buying from Capcom. I'm too much of an RE fan.

Can't help but smile at this. Ingenious way of honoring Megaman's history while pissing off fans. Looks like a fun character to beat people up with too. I hope there's a pink or yellow color swap.

Apparently most of these Joystiq readers are too young to remember Mega Man 1. I for one had that game on NES and the boxart was as ridiculous then as this rendition is now.

Or, apparently people aren't wanting to play as "Badart Mega Man" plain and simple, and the only thing they can do is mock it, which is hard not to do. They see this as Capcom laughing at the fans for wanting an actual new Mega Man game to be released.

Specially when Capcom couldn't find the time or effort to bother putting him in MvC3 or even UMvC3.
