Sony is trying to push the 3G model really hard aren't they.
Honestly 3G model to begin with seems pointless to me.

But then again i'm sure theirs people who like having both 3G and wifi.

@Jawmuncher I think it's a good deal. at least it's better than before... the question now is... Can I get little deviant with that free game in asterisk? or Uncharted? or is it some cheap 10 dollar crap?

and it seems like i can only get the free game after 1 month of paying at&t?

so in the mean time, i still have to actually buy another game to kill time?

If you're a Prime member, this is a good amount of change saved on tax and shipping plus the extras.

That's if you're into the 3G model.

@CaptainProtonX

Whtas the difference in price between the $15 month of 3G and the 8GB memory card? Cause you could always just, you know, not use the 3G after the month is over, and get a free memory card. And like you said, save on shipping and what not, it might be worth the extra $50 over the plain wifi model.

gonna have to do *a lot* better than that if they hope to move those 3G Vitas. and that goes for everyone, not just amazon.

as it currently stands, they can't even get people to buy the cheaper WiFi version.

They announced promotion on the PS Blog 17 minutes before you posted this article. I doubt you really need to check in with Sony so much as just do a little research next time.

just because you're a poor troll doesn't mean it's not worth it. You have no argument to back that at all.
With this bundle, the argument that it doesn't include a HDD of some sort is gone. It's now $300 for a quad core processor, super amoled screen, 8GB HDD, 3G, GPS, and a ton of other features that easily bring it spec-wise above most 600$ tablets.

as gnordy has explained below, The free game with the 3G data will be a $10 game. Box art says $55 value, which is $30 8gb memory card, $15 data plan, $10 game. = IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

Why not just spend $310 and get 16gb that you'll actually use? Or are you too poor?

I think the $250 version is spot on. 3g no matter how much it costs, is not worth it on the Vita, because nothing noteworthy will be able to support it for more than 5 minutes before going over the bandwidth limit. So stop making assumptions about me and stop name-calling.

Want me to get the 3G version, then you can subsidize the hardware. Til then I'm not getting a second piece of hardware on contract.

I might be wrong, but I'm fairly certain it's not on a contract. I think it's a monthly thing you just choose to buy then use straight from the Vita...

Interesting... might be worth it for the card and PSN game. It should be noted that this is how to get the free game.

"1. Select and sign up for an AT&T DataConnect Pass plan.
2. Login to your PlayStation Network account on your PS Vita.
3. 30 days after your DataConnect Pass activation, you will receive a game voucher code redeemable on the PlayStation Store."

So basically it's a free game with seemingly no limitations as to price or product, but you have to wait 30 days after you activate the 3G pass. I'm betting that AT&T is footing the bill and hopes to either addict people to 3G or get enough accidental renewals to make up the cost and then some.

To me, that seems absolutely worth it. If I can get a free $40-50 Vita launch game and an 8GB card that's normally $30, I'm pre-order next week and await my hot new hand held. That I will play at home in bed, obviously.

I just switched my pre-order, I was going to buy an 8gb anyway so basically if I pay $20 more I get the 3G model plus a PSN game. Count me in.

Um... my post disappeared. Well, here's the jist:

In order to get the free game, these are the steps:

"1. Select and sign up for an AT&T DataConnect Pass plan.
2. Login to your PlayStation Network account on your PS Vita.
3. 30 days after your DataConnect Pass activation, you will receive a game voucher code redeemable on the PlayStation Store."

So with a $30 card and a $40-50 game, it ends up cheaper than a wifi-only Vita. That seems pretty awesome to me, so I'll bite and pre-order next week (was waiting until some oddly nice deal like this came along).

@Knives Chau Me too! I was hoping Sony included a memory card for the wifi and 3g versions in America.. It´s kinda dissapointing that they are only doing this in the 3g model.

I guess I´ll have the systems but no games or memory cards for a couple of weeks...

Even though it isn't the Wi-Fi only Vita, you're still getting a $30 memory card and whatever the game is with a monthish of data at the same cost as the 3G model. Why not spend the extra $10 that you would have saved on getting the Wi-Fi model to instead get the complete kit?

We got the best deal in Canada a few weeks back. Bestbuy offered the $300 early edition (no 3G) with a free copy of Uncharted, Even if they drop the price by $50 in 6 months, we still got a great deal. Suffice it to say I preordered that bundle. They also offer $5 off all games and accesories right now, so I preordered a 32GB memory card for $95 and a bunch of games (wipeour, hot shots golf, modnation) for $25 each

My point being that there's now no reason to get the first edition bundle unless you /really/ want that case. Thanks for putting me at the back of Amazon's pre-order list, Sony.

First Edition Bundle is ALSO getting these extras.

From the PS Blog:
If you were one of the lucky consumers to pre order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle, in addition to the PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi hardware, a limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and Little Deviants game, we will now be including an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB session, and a PlayStation Network game – both provided upon 3G activation. And the best part, you still get it a week before the official launch date.

Where in the quote did you see that? I mean, it would be great, but it doesn't say it.

we will now be including an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB session, and a PlayStation Network gam

It does not say 8GB anywhere.

I just asked an Amazon rep if these new bonuses will be added to the First Edition Bundle (since it comes with the 3G model), but they said it wouldn't. =( I'm not sure getting a week early is worth sacrificing the added stuff.

Ok, I'm confused guys. I ordered the First edition bundle and now all of a sudden this just popped out of mid air. This certainly looks like a better deal despite getting the first edition model early.

So why waste more money for the first edition bundle then? Just for the fancy case and getting it early? This bundle here comes with an 8 gig memory card! 8 gigs! and the first edition only comes with 4? Why?

And how does the game work for this bundle? Can I get any free game I want like Uncharted? Or would I have to get a game worth less than 40 dollars?

Its gonna be so messed up getting the first edition model that comes with little deviants when this bundle might give you a much more better game.
