Fallout 3 and Oblivion unite in double pack on April 3
41
Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion invite you to participate in their joyous union on April 3 in North America. Bethesda's double pack will feature the standard edition of both games, at $29.99 for Xbox 360 or $19.99 for PC.
Bethesda isn't allowed to release the double pack on PS3, Pete Hines told Joystiq. "We will continue to work to try to change that, but at present it is still not approved," he said. "We would like to release a PS3 version a well."
Seeing as Fallout 3 launched in 2008 and Oblivion in 2006, it's about time they settled down, found a partner and relinquished their previous $60 lifestyle. Of course the age gap may upset a few people since two years is, like, 80 years in video game time, but they'll get over it. While they're buying the double pack, probably.

@megapython vs gatoroid How about they start making the DLC half price now...At least for Fall Out. I still need to complete this!

I might have to finally break down and buy these games. This seems like too good of a deal to pass up.

Standard editions? Lame.

While some may agree with you. I still say even with them being standard editions between both games you still get more than enough play time to make up for the 29.99 price tag.
If nothing else with Bethesda games you are sure to get your fill on the standard editions no matter what.
*Looks back at Morrowind*

@Ganon255 It really depends on how you look at it. Sure, if you only buy new then $30 is a great deal, however if you're not opposed to buying used you could pick up the standard edition of both of these for around $5.

Given the age and saturation of both games, it would be awfully nice if they included the GOTY versions of both for $30. Ah well.

That's some atrocious box art.

@Ayepecks
agreed. absolutely terrible. to be fair, the box art for pretty much any HD collection or "best-seller" collection is always shitty. i don't see why we need pictures of the games' retail boxes on the box itself.

Meh, they should include the GOTY editions by now!!!

They had a golden opportunity of making a glorious cover with of Vault Boy on a horse wearing Horse Armor™, which is sadly missing here.

It'd probably be a better deal to buy the GOTY editions separately for just ten more dollars.

Pretty cool. Would be better if they came with all their addons

So does this mean Morrowind's price on Steam will finally drop below $20?
Posted: Feb 17th 2012 4:08PM Prince David said
@Faceless Troll Whenever they put Bethesda games on sale, you can get Morrowind for 10. I know it's not as cheap as we'd like but I think it's worth it. I paid 150 for Skyrim and think it was worth every penny (for the hundreds of hours I already have on it).

@Prince David I'm not talking about sales. It's ridiculous to expect people to pay $20 for a game that's ten years old with two sequels.

You can buy them on Steam on a sale for like 7$ each one including all the addons

The GOTY editions have been cheaper on than this pack on Steam.
Fallout 3 GOTY was $7.49 during the holiday sale and Oblivion GOTY has been $5.

@Jenks I picked up both on Steam as part of the Quakecon pack. It averaged out to $2.59 each.

Cool idea. Would've been better if they gave you all the DLC as well since those games are a bit old. They probably did this in memory of Adam, Bethesda concept artist, who passed away from cancer.

For the PC version, who hasn't already gotten these on Steam??

Two of games ripped right out of my all-time favorite list. While others are fine to disagree, those two are 100% classics.

I wonder if no trophy support on the PS3 version of Oblivion has anything to do with it "not being approved?"

I honestly question who among the marketing team thought that at this point, someone wants to just get the vanilla version of 6 year old Oblivion.

So, a step backwards?
Will any of these Softwares contain DLC Content that no one downloads anymore or are they gonna stiff us again with purchasing outdated crap you can find in the GOTY Editions...Well for Oblivion anyways.

Too bad they both aren't GOTY edition :( oh well glad I beat both of those to the full extent.

They should both be the GOTY editions... at this point, there's no reason in getting the vanilla game.

Seems a little late to be trying to push something like this. I can't imagine too many people who haven't already played these games.

They aren't allowed to release a PS3 double pack? Why?
Also, what's the difference between a normal PC game box ("PC DVD") and a Games for Windows box? Why aren't all PC games released in the GFW brand? What's the difference between that and a normal PC game?
