GameStop recently announced "The Gamer Fund," an employee-sponsored charitable organization to help associates facing unforeseen emergency or hardship.
"The Gamer Fund, at its core, is the essence of the GameStop culture," said Gamer Fund chairman Mike Buskey. "This unique organization allows associates to give back not only by funding its efforts, but also by managing the day-to-day process. A recent example of the fund at work is the support given to those affected by Hurricane Isaac."
The Gamer Fund is currently only for US employees, with plans to expand to all countries GameStop operates in.
