	<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/16/pixeljunk-shooter-2-review/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/530pixeljunktmshooter201.jpg" style="border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; margin: 4px;" /></a></div>
Sequel design 101: Make your game bigger. Given one of the only complaints fans had with the original <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/pixeljunk-shooter"><em>PixelJunk Shooter</em></a> was its length, the explosion of content in the sequel makes sense. Over a year in the making, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/pixeljunk-shooter-2"><em>Shooter 2</em></a> has bigger bosses, bigger levels and a bigger feature set. But, bigger doesn't always equal better; while <em>Shooter 2</em> will keep fans busy, it's one of the few "disappointments" from the studio's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/pixeljunk-eden">otherwise</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/pixeljunk-monsters">impeccable</a> portfolio.<br />
<br />
The most significant addition to the <em>Shooter</em> formula is the new competitive multiplayer feature. I was skeptical at first, doubtful that PvP would be able to retain the game's unique charm. I was proven wrong with my first online battle. The subtle changes to the core mechanics make for an interesting game of cat-and-mouse. Just like in the main game, you must rescue survivors. But, in versus mode, there's someone else hellbent on rescuing more of them than you.<br />
<br />
Each of the maps offer different strategic options, taking advantage of the unique liquidity of the game's levels. Risk maneuvering through an active volcano to avoid enemy fire, for example. Or, try having a shootout in the water, to avoid heating up. Flashier players may even try to steal survivors from an enemy base.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pixeljunk-shooter-2/">PixelJunk Shooter 2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pixeljunk-shooter-2/#3958083"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/jspixeljunktm-shooter-2-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pixeljunk-shooter-2/#3958085"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/jspixeljunktm-shooter-2-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pixeljunk-shooter-2/#3958095"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/jspixeljunktm-shooter-2-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pixeljunk-shooter-2/#3958106"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/jspixeljunktm-shooter-2-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pixeljunk-shooter-2/#3958113"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/jspixeljunktm-shooter-2-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/16/pixeljunk-shooter-2-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PixelJunk Shooter 2 review: If it ain't broke, add multiplayer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/16/pixeljunk-shooter-2-review/">PixelJunk Shooter 2 review: If it ain't broke, add multiplayer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Mar 2011 16:00:00 EST. The second of Rockstar's "gameplay series" videos for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/la-noire"><em>LA Noire</em></a> emphasizes, once again, that it'll take brains -- not necessarily brawn -- to crack open the various cases the game holds. See how investigations unfold and how to interrogate suspects in this brand new video.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/09/la-noire-interrogation-investigated-on-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LA Noire interrogation, investigated on video</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/09/la-noire-interrogation-investigated-on-video/">LA Noire interrogation, investigated on video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Mar 2011 19:20:00 EST. The PlayStation Store had some noteworthy releases in February: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/explodemon"><em>Explodemon</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/stacking"><em>Stacking</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2"><em>Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</em></a>. But none of these new releases managed to chart in PSN's monthly sales numbers. Instead, you'll see some familiar names on the top 5 list, including <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/angry-birds"><em>Angry Birds</em></a>, which continues its second month of bestselling sales.<br />

		Plants vs. Zombies</li>

		Tetris</li>
	<li>
		Pac-Man Championship Edition DX</li>

</ol>
In addition to <em>Angry Birds</em>, the appearance of a PopCap game, a <em>Tetris</em> game, and a <em>Pac-Man</em> game tell us that casual games are key to making your way to the top of the PlayStation Network.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/08/angry-birds-continues-psn-domination-in-february/">Angry Birds continues PSN domination in February</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Mar 2011 09:59:00 EST. There's good reason to pay attention to Moonshot Games. The operation, which spans two studios in Boston and Seattle, is helmed by some prolific ex-Bungie stars. Three members of the Moonshot crew have hand their hands on Microsoft's FPS: Managing Director Michel Bastien worked as a producer on the first three <em>Halo</em> games at Bungie, Director of Technology Dami&aacute;n Isla worked on developing AI for <em>Halo 2</em> and <em>3</em> and Creative Director Rob Stokes was the Design Lead of <em>Halo 3</em>.<br />
<br />
The studio's first title, <em>Fallen Frontier</em>, will be making its debut at PAX East this week and it promises to "leverage the very best design principles" from the team's combined experience on the <em>Halo</em> franchise. The arcade action of the game's first trailer certainly makes it seem like "<em>Halo</em> in 2D." We'll find out more when we get our hands on the game this weekend.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallen-frontier/">Fallen Frontier</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallen-frontier/#3953059"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/fallenfrontierss01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallen-frontier/#3953060"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/fallenfrontierss02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallen-frontier/#3953061"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/fallenfrontierss03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallen-frontier/#3953062"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/fallenfrontierss04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallen-frontier/#3953063"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/fallenfrontierss05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/07/bungie-offshoot-moonshot-games-sets-off-for-the-fallen-frontier/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bungie offshoot Moonshot Games sets off for the Fallen Frontier</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/07/bungie-offshoot-moonshot-games-sets-off-for-the-fallen-frontier/">Bungie offshoot Moonshot Games sets off for the Fallen Frontier</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 07 Mar 2011 18:55:00 EST. Cover athletes for EA Sports' <em>NCAA Football</em> series may not get the same attention as <em>Madden's </em>leading men -- but hey, at least they're not <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/madden-curse">cursed</a>. Like the zombies it's based off of, the <em>Resident Evil</em> movie franchise will not die. Although the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/14/jovovich-another-resident-evil-movie-is-definitely-coming/">fifth film</a> has yet to be subtitled, it does have a date. <em>"Resident Evil 5"</em> will be in theaters -- in 3D, of course -- on September 14, 2012.<br />
<br />
There's good reason for the hastened production schedule for yet another sequel. According to <a href="http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3103&amp;p=.htm">Box Office Mojo</a>, last year's <em>Resident Evil</em> film, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil-afterlife/"><em>Afterlife</em></a>, was the highest grossing in the series, generating over $236 million, which is "about as much as the first three movies combined," the site notes. <em>Afterlife </em>enjoyed success in international markets and generated additional revenue through its 3D presentations. According to the report, about 80 percent of <em>Afterlife's</em> domestic revenue came from its extra-dimensional screenings.<br />
<br />
With the success of <em>Resident Evil</em> on the silver screen, it's no surprise Capcom and Sony Pictures are trying to strike gold again. In addition to <em>Resident Evil</em>, a <em>Devil May Cry</em> film is also <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/28/devil-may-cry-movie-rights-acquired-by-screen-gems/">in the works</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/fifth-resident-evil-movie-in-the-works-scheduled-for-2012/">Fifth Resident Evil movie in the works, scheduled for 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 20:20:00 EST. "I always wanted to make a flight-simulation game," designer Shigeru Miyamoto confessed in a new edition of Nintendo's <a href="http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/3ds/how-nintendo-3ds-made/4/3">Iwata Asks</a> column. The Nintendo president seemed confused by that admission, reminding Miyamoto that he had worked on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pilotwings"><em>Pilotwings</em></a>.<br />
<br />
Apparently, <em>Pilotwings</em> wasn't the kind of flying game Miyamoto had in mind. "That game was about you enjoying the flying experiences," he said. "It's a bit different from the kind of flight-simulation game I wanted to make." Instead, the designer has wanted to create what gamers would consider a realistic or hardcore sim, not unlike <em>Microsoft Flight Simulator</em>. "The difficulty level is high with these simulators when we see them as video games, but that difficulty is one of the greatest charms for them," Miyamoto added.<br />
<br />
Although Nintendo's games typically appeal to the mass market, Miyamoto expressed his long-standing desire to make a complicated game. "I wanted to make some kind of simulator where you would control something huge, but they beat me to it," he said, referring to Capcom's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/steel-battalion"><em>Steel Battalion</em></a> game on the original Xbox, which included a controller with about 40 buttons (pictured above). "I felt so mortified when that was released."<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/steel-diver"><em>Steel Diver</em></a> may not be Miyamoto's long-desired flight simulation game, but it's a close approximation of his original vision. "Controlling a submarine is like a slower version of a flight-simulation game," he joked. The game may not include its own <em>Steel Battalion</em>-esque controller, but Nintendo can at least "put lots of dials" on the 3DS touch screen.<br />

<em>Dead Nation</em> is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/30/dead-nation-review/#review">terrific</a>, but it has one shortcoming that many have considered a deal breaker: It lacks voice chat for online co-op play. That issue will be addressed in a new patch, to be deployed next Tuesday, March 7.<br />
<br />
The title update will not only add voice chat, but a few other features, including the abilities to save at checkpoints (which should make those challenging final levels a <em>little</em> easier) and to copy save files to back them up. In its post on <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/03/04/dead-nation-introduces-voice-chat-integration-new-development-diary/">PlayStation Blog</a>, Housemarque teases "further surprises" will be included, as well.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/dead-nation-patch-coming-next-week-adds-voice-chat-and-checkpoi/">Dead Nation patch coming next week, adds voice chat and checkpoint saves</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 16:30:00 EST. How long has the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ngp">successor</a> to PSP been in the works? According to Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, "since the beginning of 2008." The timing coincides with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/16/rumor-psp-4000-out-next-year-psp2-in-development/">first rumors</a> about the device, which (correctly) predicted the system's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/25/dave-perry-absolutely-certain-next-psp-will-forego-umd/">lack</a> of a UMD drive, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/07/rumor-psp2-brings-dual-analog-nubs-touch-screen-by-christmas/">touch screen</a> and dual analog support.<br />
<br />
Yoshida also explained that Worldwide Studios had been officially involved with NGP game development since then, too, which helps explain the dearth of first-party content for the original PSP <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/25/psp-fanboy-game-of-the-year-2008-nominations/">beginning in 2008</a>. According to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_published_by_Sony_Computer_Entertainment#PlayStation_Portable">Wikipedia</a>, Sony has released only 16 first-party games for the PSP in the last two years -- about the same number of games it had ready for the system's launch.<br />
<br />
While Sony is working on delivering triple-A titles for the NGP launch, Yoshida noted that first-party teams are also working on "short form games" for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-suite">PlayStation Suite</a>, Sony's upcoming cross-platform service for NGP and Android. Given the last game we recall Sony ever developing for a non-PlayStation device was <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wipeout_64"><em>Wipeout 64</em></a>, that's certainly an historic move.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/ngp-in-development-since-the-beginning-of-2008-first-party-su/">NGP in development 'since the beginning of 2008,' first-party Suite games in the works</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 14:30:00 EST. Like the Gap and cargo shorts, EA is <span class="text_article_body">"</span><span class="text_article_body">trying to figure out how to bring <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mirrors-edge"><em>Mirror's Edge</em></a> back."</span><br />
<br />
EA Games label president Frank Gibeau told <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/291633/news/ea-mirrors-edge-2-must-grow-franchise-audience/">CVG</a> that the <em>Mirror's Edge</em> franchise is unequivocally <em>not</em> dead. "<span class="text_article_body">I greenlight the games. I did not kill it -- as God is my witness," he <em>swore</em>.</span> According to Gibeau, the publisher is looking for ways to bring back the franchise in "a way that fans will be excited," while still reaching a larger audience. <span class="text_article_body">"We need to go from version one to version two so that it sells two to three times as many, it finds a much bigger audience."</span><br />
<br />
DICE, developer of the first game, is currently working on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/battlefield-3"><em>Battlefield 3</em></a>. According to earlier <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/mirrors-edge-2-rejected-by-ea/">reports</a>, EA requested that the developer focus exclusively on that game, instead of a <em>Mirror's Edge </em>sequel. A EA spokesperson later commented that <em>Mirror's Edge</em> is an "important franchise," but there was "nothing further to announce."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/ea-figuring-out-how-to-continue-mirrors-edge/">EA 'figuring out' how to continue Mirror's Edge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 14:00:00 EST. Everyone is invited to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/socom-4-us-navy-seals"><em>SOCOM 4</em></a> beta starting April 5. But you'll have opportunities to get in earlier:
<ul>
	<li>
		March 15 - Private Beta. "We'll be contacting eligible players soon."</li>
	<li>
		March 22 - <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-plus">PlayStation Plus</a> early access</li>
	<li>
		March 29 - Access <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/19/killzone-3-includes-admission-into-socom-4-multiplayer-beta/">included</a> with <em>Killzone 3</em></li>
	<li>
		April 5 - Free public download on the PlayStation Store</li>
</ul>
The beta will include all of the game's competitive multiplayer modes -- Suppression, Last Defense, Uplink and Bomb Squad -- playable on two maps: Port Authority and Assault &amp; Battery. It's scheduled to conclude on April 13.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, the beta won't give you a taste of the five-player <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/24/socom-4-preview/">co-op mode</a>. You'll have to wait until <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/27/socom-4-is-so-coming-on-april-19th-gamestop-gets-exclusive-map/">April 19</a> to try that out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/socom-4-beta-dated-playstation-plus-members-get-early-access/">SOCOM 4 beta dated, PlayStation Plus members get early access</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 12:30:00 EST. How did you feel about the downloadable Vocaloid content for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/metal-gear-solid-peace-walker"><em>Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker</em></a>? When encountering an enemy, what tactics do you use? Would you be interested in a <em>Metal Gear</em> game on an Android phone?<br />
<br />
Konami is very, very curious about what fans think about its <em>Metal Gear</em> franchise. A "Survey Mission" on the company's <a href="http://www.facebook.com/konami?v=app_10442206389">Facebook page</a> lets fans opine about nearly every intricate detail about the series, going all the way back to the MSX era. Who knows? Your votes may end up influencing the future of the franchise! But be warned: this is a very, <em>very</em> long survey.<br />
<br />

Most 3DS games will give players the option to use the system's slider to adjust the <em>depth</em> of the display. Not <em>Cubic Ninja.</em> AQ Interactive's puzzle-platformer will not support a 3D display of any depth.<br />
<br />
A representative confirmed to us that there is "no stereoscopic 3D in [the] main game" because of <em>Cubic Ninja's</em> heavy reliance on another feature of the 3DS: the gyroscope. A report on Japanese site <a href="http://www.inside-games.jp/article/2011/02/18/47467.html">Inside Games</a> notes that it would be difficult to read text in 3D if you were moving the 3DS around.<br />
<br />
Because the integrity of the handheld's 3D effect is reliant on viewing the screen from a fixed, dead-on position, it will be interesting to see if others developers, also keen on gyroscopic gameplay, might "turn off" the 3DS's big novelty.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/cubic-ninja-is-a-3ds-game-without-3d/">Cubic Ninja is a 3DS game without 3D</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 05:00:00 EST. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fancy-pants-adventures">Fancy Pants Adventures</a></em> is undoubtedly one of the best titles ever conceived for a video game. Admit it, you like your Xbox Live Avatar. It's like an action figure version of yourself. But what if you could have a real-life action figure of your Avatar? Wouldn't that be awesome?<br />
<br />
If you want to indulge your more narcissistic tendencies, Microsoft has some new options to "<a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Live/unleash">unleash</a>" your Avatar: Decorate your home with <em>you</em> -- get a custom wall print to make your Avatar larger than life; or have your Avatar stand proudly next to your GI Joe collection by ordering a miniature figurine; or even have your Avatar etched onto the back of a Zune media player.<br />
<br />
Before you <em>unleash</em>, check your wallet. A "jumbo" wall print will set you back $150, while a 16GB Zune with Avatar etching costs $170. In comparison, the $60 asking price for a figurine doesn't sound <em>so</em> bad.<br />
<br />

Demiurge's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/shoot-many-robots"><em>Shoot Many Robots</em></a> is the latest to join a growing trend in games: adding player content to the final product. The "<a href="http://shootmanyrobots.com/media/design-many-robots-contest/">Design Many Robots</a>" contest asks fans to submit original robot designs. The winning entrants will be flown to Boston to visit Demiurge and see their creations added to the game's first expansion.<br />
<br />
The deadline for submissions is April 4th, and is restricted to US residents only. "Blame the lawyers! They made us do it!," Demiurge's Justin Lockey noted. Alright then, done. Blamed.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/design-many-robots-and-get-featured-in-shoot-many-robots-dlc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>'Design Many Robots' and get featured in Shoot Many Robots DLC</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/design-many-robots-and-get-featured-in-shoot-many-robots-dlc/">'Design Many Robots' and get featured in Shoot Many Robots DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 02:30:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-move">PlayStation Move</a> homebrew community hasn't been quite as prolific as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/kinect-hacks">Kinect's</a>. But that may soon change with the introduction of Move.me. Coming soon, Move.me is a downloadable application for the PS3 that allows researchers, students, hobbyists, developers, <em>anyone</em>, the ability to develop for the PlayStation Move. "We want to see what innovative applications programmers can create using the PS Move controller, the PS3 system, the PlayStation Eye camera, and a PC," the <a href="http://us.playstation.com/ps3/playstation-move/move-me/">official site</a> decrees.<br />
<br />
Move.me will be available for download via the PlayStation Network this Spring, but interested applicants will be able to <a href="http://us.playstation.com/ps3/playstation-move/move-me/">register</a> for an early look now. The first 150 qualified applicants that are accepted will receive a voucher in the next two weeks. Are you willing to take the challenge?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/move-me-invites-everyone-to-develop-for-playstation-move/">Move.me invites everyone to develop for PlayStation Move</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 23:20:00 EST. Sony Pictures' upcoming <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/BattleLAMovie"><em>Battle: Los Angeles</em></a> movie is pretty much a video game. Aliens attack L.A. and the American military swoops in to defend it. It sounds like most every other military sci-fi shooter ever made, which is why "Konami jumped at the opportunity to team up with Columbia Pictures and publish the <em>Battle: Los Angeles</em> video game," says Konami Digital's Careen Yapp.<br />
<br />
The downloadable tie-in will "mirror" the story of the feature film. According to Konami's <a href="http://www.konami.com/article/KONAMI_ANNOUNCES_BATTLE:_LOS_ANGELES/184">press release</a>, you'll assume the role of a Marine, shooting aliens with an "arsenal of weapons" -- meaning, your standard issue "assault rifle, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, frag grenades, and a turret gun."<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/timeshift"><em>TimeShift</em></a> developer Sabre Interactive is working on the title, which will be released next month on PSN, XBLA and digital PC retailers like Steam. <br />
Non-Plus subscribers will be able to download the <em>Mortal Kombat</em> demo the following week, on March 15th. While <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-last-guardian"><em>The Last Guardian</em></a> isn't being shown in an official capacity at GDC this year, Sony has released a series of new images of the upcoming PS3 exclusive. There are a lot of rumors surrounding Bungie's mysterious <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bungivision">next project</a>. With the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/halo-reach"><em>Halo</em></a> torch passed on, many are curious as to what Bungie's first project with Activision will entail -- and what genres it might <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/25/blizzard-willing-to-work-with-bungie-on-mmo-development/">straddle</a>.<br />
<br />
It appears the answer is that the unnamed franchise will be a massively multiplayer game of some sort. During a panel on networking technologies, Bungie lead network engineer David Aldridge told GDC attendees that the game will be "massively multiplayer," though added that it would not simply be "<em>WoW</em> in space." Beyond that tidbit, Bungie's project still remains shrouded in secrecy.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/bungies-next-game-is-massively-multiplayer/">Bungie's next game is 'massively multiplayer'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 21:40:00 EST. <img border="1" hspace="4" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/sfballoonincident.jpg" vspace="4" /></div>
We figured that the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/01/thq-planning-north-korean-protest-to-promote-homefront/">fake North Korean protest</a> staged during GDC as part of the <em>Homefront</em> marketing campaign was going to draw controversy -- but we couldn't have predicted this debacle. THQ's staged rally, meant to "decry the North Korean regime and the treatment of its citizens," ended in a symbolic release of ten thousand red GameStop-branded balloons. While majestic at first, bad weather quickly deflated the balloons, causing a downpour of promotional garbage directly into the San Francisco bay.<br />
<br />
Environmentalists were not pleased, especially when they discovered that the balloons had advertisements attached to them, highlighting the "resistance multiplayer pack," a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/18/homefront-rolls-out-retailer-exclusive-pre-order-bonuses/">pre-order bonus</a>. "Obviously, we have a problem with polluting of the bay and this is just polluting and littering," Amy Ricard, a spokeswoman for the environmental group Save the Bay, told <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/03/03/BAU11I2LER.DTL">SFGate</a>.<br />
<br />
GameStop was quick to issue a statement, distancing itself from the poorly-received event. "The balloon drop stunt in San Francisco was created by THQ ... and GameStop had no prior knowledge of it." THQ later issued a statement, confirming GameStop's non-involvement, adding that the balloons were "100 percent organic product and are 100 percent biodegradable."<br />
<br />
Although the company promises to clean up its mess, many are still furious at THQ's tasteless promotion. Perhaps THQ should stick to ... <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/01/seen-at-gdc-homefront-free-lunch/">taste-ful stunts</a>.<br />

For many, the fall of the Berlin Wall represents the triumph of freedom over facism. Long an icon of social repression, the Berlin Wall has evolved into something far greater. It's a <em>Call of Duty</em> map now. One that stages a musical number.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/call-of-duty-black-ops-first-strike-dlc-lands-on-ps3-gets-bo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Call of Duty: Black Ops 'First Strike' DLC lands on PS3, gets bonus music video</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/call-of-duty-black-ops-first-strike-dlc-lands-on-ps3-gets-bo/">Call of Duty: Black Ops 'First Strike' DLC lands on PS3, gets bonus music video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 17:20:00 EST. Ubisoft's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/call-of-juarez-the-cartel"><em>Call of Juarez: The Cartel</em></a> is all about threes. Not only is it the third game in the series, it features three main characters: a "gang-affiliated street kid," a "DEA agent with a chronic gambling habit" and a "brutal LAPD detective." Each character is said to have a unique campaign story and ending.<br />
<br />
Perhaps the most exciting feature of <em>The Cartel</em> is the ability to play as <em>all</em> three characters in online co-op; in which Ubisoft teases there will be a "twist" in the storyline. Get your first look at the unlikely "task force" in the trailer after the break.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/call-of-juarez-the-cartel/">Call of Juarez: The Cartel</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/call-of-juarez-the-cartel/#3854082"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/egm-cover_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/call-of-juarez-the-cartel/#3854088"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/cojtcx360bxsht_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/call-of-juarez-the-cartel/#3854191"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/call-of-juarez-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/call-of-juarez-the-cartel/#3854192"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/call-of-juarez-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/call-of-juarez-the-cartel/#3943486"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/03/coj3s002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/call-of-juarez-the-cartel-to-feature-three-player-online-co-op/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Call of Juarez: The Cartel to feature three-player online co-op</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/call-of-juarez-the-cartel-to-feature-three-player-online-co-op/">Call of Juarez: The Cartel to feature three-player online co-op</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 16:30:00 EST. What's Steam's "number one support issue" according to Valve's Gabe Newell? "Account phishing and hijacking," says the boss. In an effort to combat the theft of digital goods, Valve has announced Steam Guard, a new service that allows users to restrict account management to a specific Intel-powered PC.<br />
<br />
Using <a href="http://ipt.intel.com/">Intel Identity Protection Technology</a> (IPT), a hardware-based feature available in second generation Intel Core processors, Steam Guard users will be notified whenever a different PC attempts to log into or modify their account settings. This should give Steam users "the account security they need as they purchase more and more digital goods," said <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/15/valves-gabe-newell-discusses-company-profitability-and-getting/">the filthy rich</a> Newell.<br />
<br />
Because Steam Guard is hardware-reliant, the service will not be available to all Steam users. Still, Valve's Doug Lombardi expects "to see widespread adoption of hardware-based security like Intel IPT by other service providers" in the future. "If as a customer you are buying movies, music, games, or digital goods, you want to know that they are more secure than your physical goods."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/valve-introduces-steam-guard-to-fight-acount-phishing-and-hijack/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Valve introduces Steam Guard to fight account phishing and hijacking</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/valve-introduces-steam-guard-to-fight-acount-phishing-and-hijack/">Valve introduces Steam Guard to fight account phishing and hijacking</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 13:30:00 EST. Rockstar's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/la-noire"><em>L.A. Noire</em></a> will be released with a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/24/la-noire-pre-order-bonuses-will-dress-either-you-or-detective-ph/">plethora</a> of retailer-specific pre-order bonuses. GameStop, however, may be offering the most compelling one of them all: "The Naked City" DLC has you investigating the apparent suicide of a fashion model, but in typical noir fashion, nothing is as it seems.<br />
<br />
While initially a GameStop pre-order exclusive, The Naked City bonus "vice case" will be available for digital purchase after the game's release. "All of the <em>L.A. Noire</em> pre-order content will be made available for purchase as DLC at some point after the game comes out," a Rockstar representative confirmed. "We have long planned to do this for all digital pre-order items."<br />

Sony's <a href="http://us.playstation.com/psp/">official PSP website</a> has been updated to reflect an apparent PSP Go price drop. "Now you can enjoy the sleek, totally-digital PSP Go system for $149.99 MSRP," reads the product description, "and the unsurpassed PSP-3000 system for $129.99 MSRP." The 3000 price cut was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/25/psp-price-slashed-to-130/">made official</a> last week, but the would-be PSP Go discount is news to us.<br />
<br />
Apparently, it <em>would be</em> news to retailers too! As of publishing, outlets including <a href="http://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-Pearl-White-Sony-PSP/dp/B002CZ756I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1299165901&amp;sr=8-3">Amazon</a>, <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+PSPgo+%28Piano+Black%29/9459659.p?id=1218108085308&amp;skuId=9459659&amp;st=psp%20go&amp;cp=1&amp;lp=1">Best Buy</a> and <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/psp/consoles/pspgo-black/75742">GameStop</a> all have the hardware listed at $200 (the price <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/25/psp-go-price-cut/">put into effect</a> last October). Given the phasing out of UMD (disc-based PSP games won't be backwards compatible with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ngp">NGP</a>), people might consider using the all-digital Go at a stepping stone at the new, reduced price. That is, if Sony ever decides to make the price cut happen.<br />

EA Partners has been responsible for helping to bring some noteworthy titles to market in the past few years. The co-publishing arm has helped to distribute the likes of the <em>Rock Band</em> and <em>Left 4 Dead </em>series, as well as the recent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bulletstorm"><em>Bulletstorm</em></a>, and will aid in the upcoming releases of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/crysis-2"><em>Crysis 2</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/portal-2"><em>Portal 2</em></a>.<br />
<br />
It's perhaps surprising, then, that <span class="text_article_body">David DeMartini, the</span> man who managed these successful co-publshing deals, has <span class="text_article_body"><a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/291499/news/ea-partners-boss-steps-down/">stepped down</a></span> as the division's <span class="text_article_body">group general manager to pursue a "</span>new commercial role." EA Partners looks to not miss a beat, however, as former SVP and COO of the EA Games label, Brian Neider, has stepped right in.<br />
<br />
Neider has quickly settled into his new role, <a href="http://www.develop-online.net/news/37186/GDC11-EA-transforms-Partners-scheme-for-mobile-and-social">calling</a> the Partners program an "all around win-win," which allows "EA to partner with some of the world's best console, PC and digital developers while providing those independent developers with a global distribution/publishing partner."<br />
<br />
In fact, the shakeup marks a time of expansion for the "Partners" busines model. Through its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/chilingo">Chillingo</a> (mobile) and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playfish">Playfish</a> (social) divisions, EA will expand its co-publishing philosophy to capitalize on the demand for social and mobile games. "Like EA Partners, Chillingo and Playfish work with the best development talent in the mobile and social gaming space," Neider told Develop.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/ea-expanding-partners-model-to-mobile-social-businesses/">EA expanding 'Partners' model to mobile, social businesses</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Mar 2011 16:20:00 EST. Why should the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/3ds">3DS</a>' futuristic screen be relegated to games only? Nintendo has announced two media services for the upcoming handheld. First, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/netflix">Netflix</a> is coming to the 3DS, allowing you to watch a movie on the go ... and then finish watching at home using your Wii.<br />
<br />
In addition, Nintendo will offer a "short-form video service," which will offer "curated" (i.e., in 3D) content, such as comedy shorts, music videos and movie trailers. These features won't be available at launch, but will be available via a <a href="http://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/43002013600059393">system update</a> in "late May."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/netflix-and-short-form-video-service-coming-to-nintendo-3ds/">Netflix and 'short-form video service' coming to Nintendo 3DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Mar 2011 12:43:00 EST. It's news when two different platforms are linked for multiplayer gaming. But four? Trendy Entertainment has managed to bring cross-platform multiplayer to its Unreal Engine-powered, action-RPG <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dungeon-defenders"><em>Dungeon Defenders</em></a> on PS3, PC, iOS <em>and</em> Android. The developer has even implemented cross-platform matchmaking and buddy lists across the devices.<br />
<br />
The experience is made possible through GameSpy's online tools, suggesting that cross-platform multiplayer will not only become a reality, but a common feature down the line. Trendy utilized <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/24/gamespy-making-multiplayer-tech-free-for-smaller-scale-titles/">GameSpy Open</a>, a new program that enables start-up and indie developers to use the company's online tools for free.<br />
<br />
Trendy and GameSpy plan to showcase a demonstration of the cross-platform experience at GDC later this week. <em>Dungeon Defenders</em> is currently available on iOS and Android; PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are planned for release later this year.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/ps3-pc-ios-android-cross-platform-multiplayer-achieved-in-dungeo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PS3/PC/iOS/Android cross-platform multiplayer achieved in Dungeon Defenders</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/ps3-pc-ios-android-cross-platform-multiplayer-achieved-in-dungeo/">PS3/PC/iOS/Android cross-platform multiplayer achieved in Dungeon Defenders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Mar 2011 11:20:00 EST. Sure, in an hour, you may be wildly F5-ing our Nintendo <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/nintendo-gdc-keynote/">GDC keynote liveblog</a>. But you know who's going to be paying even closer attention? Cynthia Gordon, who begins her tenure as Nintendo of America's new VP of corporate affairs on March 14. In addition to preparing for the upcoming North American 3DS launch, she'll be responsible for handling any new products that are announcemented today at GDC. (For her sake -- and ours -- let's hope that doesn't include a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/28/we-dare-not-daring-us-release/">surprise</a> <em>We Dare</em> localization).<br />
<br />
Gordon fills the void left by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/21/nintendos-denise-kaigler-steps-down-to-spend-time-with-family/">Denise Kaigler's departure</a> and brings her <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/in/newcynthia">experience</a> managing various family-friendly consumer brands, including Dunkin Donuts and Universal Orlando Resort. She most recently served as SVP of 360 Public Relations, a video game-oriented agency that features the parent-friendly "MomSquad." She was also once director of the Chrysler account at GolinHarris, Nintendo of America's current PR firm.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/nintendo-of-america-recruits-new-vp-of-corporate-affairs/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nintendo of America recruits new VP of corporate affairs, who used to run on Dunkin</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/nintendo-of-america-recruits-new-vp-of-corporate-affairs/">Nintendo of America recruits new VP of corporate affairs, who used to run on Dunkin</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Mar 2011 11:00:00 EST. So, what's next for Visceral Games? <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/riccitiello-says-it-would-take-dead-space-3-for-franchise-to-p/">Dead Space 3</a>?</em> <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/18/dantes-inferno-dev-hiring-for-sequel-to-major-new-ip/">Dante's Inferno 2</a>?</em> <em>The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 2: The Returnening?</em> Anything is possible, it seems, as a new job listing on <a href="http://jobs.gamasutra.com/jobseekerx/viewjobrss.asp?cjid=25418&amp;accountno=178">Gamasutra</a> reveals that the studio is hiring for an executive producer to lead a "bold new IP," one that is "heavily backed by EA leadership." (So, anything <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/mirrors-edge-2-rejected-by-ea/">but</a> <em>Mirror's Edge 2</em>.)</div>
<br />
Our best guess? It's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/02/visceral-producer-has-been-thinking-about-macbeth-game-for-year/">that <em>Macbeth</em> game</a> <em>Dante's Inferno </em>producer Jonathan Knight has "been thinking about for years." Of course, Knight is <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jonathan-knight/2/2a7/991">no longer</a> with Visceral nor EA, so perhaps he took his idea with him.<br />

It's been over five years since <em>Battlefield 2</em>. Although DICE has had concepts for a sequel in mind since then, the real work could only begin once the team had the tool <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/battlefield-3"><em>Battlefield 3</em></a> demanded: a new engine. Why? "The short answer is this: No other engine can build a <em>Battlefield</em> game."<br />
<br />
"If you don't have the right tech, you can't build the right experience," DICE executive producer Patrick Bach told us. Unlike other engines, which are meant to be repurposed and packaged for third-party licensors, Frostbite's reason for existence is singular: "The Frostbite engine is solely created to make <em>Battlefield</em> games."<br />
<br />
<em>Battlefield 3</em> is unnervingly beautiful. The GDC presentation is one of those rare moments where you see a new graphical benchmark being defined. Bach claims they are the "first ones in the next generation." Seeing the game running on a souped-up PC, it's hard to disagree.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/battlefield-3-frostbite-2-engine-interview/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Battlefield 3's executive producer, on balancing realism in Frostbite 2</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/battlefield-3-frostbite-2-engine-interview/">Battlefield 3's executive producer, on balancing realism in Frostbite 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Mar 2011 09:00:00 EST.
