We know Nintendo is about bringing people of all ages, shapes and sizes together to enjoy a quick round of screen-touching. Everyone feels great, Nintendo rakes in the cash and hardcore gamers are getting plenty of recognition. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/30/promotional-consideration-you-know-for-adults/">Embrace diversity</a> with Nintendo.<br /><br />And yet ... it's still pretty funny watching <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/touchgenerations">non-gamers</a> try their hand at even the simplest casual games and screw up royally. Sure, kindly old Grandpa and naive little sister are exactly the kind of people the DS attracts, but do you still feel slight twinges of amusement when they have trouble completing the most basic of tasks? We love the whole worldwide DS craze and all, but are the hardcore among us (that is, the hardcore that got so upset over a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/e308-highlights-from-nintendos-private-conference/">two-hour presentation</a>) chortling silently, basking in gaming omnipotence when it comes to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/08/nintendo-sued-over-touch-screen-technology/">touchscreen</a> prowess? Share your amusing anecdotes with the rest of us!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/ds-daily-ha-what-a-noob/">DS Daily: Ha, what a noob</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 09:00:00 EST. It's a standard "Top Whatever" ranking, with seven (not six, not eight?) entries. For the most part, it seems to accurately summarize the worst characters in a few non-Nintendo games, but we're a bit shocked at number one.<br /><br />Navi, everyone's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/29/stay-gold-zelda-cube/">favorite helpful fairy</a> from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/zelda/"><em>Ocarina of Time</em></a> is deemed as the most annoying. The reasoning behind this is simple -- LISTEN! HEY! HEY! HEY! LISTEN! HEY! LISTEN! LISTEN! LISTEN! LISTEN! HEY! ... sound familiar? Sure, but was it really <em>that</em> bad? Some might call Navi's sweet little voice a siren song, other might want to smack the little insect with a giant <a href="http://www.crazyaboutgadgets.com/product/?Fly-Swat">flyswatter</a>. What's your take on the pint-size companion?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/fairies-are-the-most-annoying-ever/">Fairies are the most annoying ever</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jul 2008 12:00:00 EST. To cover up your dirty old Balance Board, AMR Racing (creators of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/11/amr-racing-brightens-up-the-balance-board/">Hoochie Mama</a>) has created a marijuana print, lovingly entitled Weed White. <br /><br />This isn't exactly the message Nintendo would want to send to the children of the world, but to all the <em>Wii Fit</em> moms out there? Smoking a joint might be totally fair game. You can pick up this cover from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Protective-Nintendo-Balance-impact-protection/dp/B001ASB3K2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&amp;s=miscellaneous&amp;qid=1216798759&amp;sr=8-2">Amazon</a> for around $20, which includes a bonus Wiimote skin. Sure, it may be the most neglected continent in the history of video games, but those crazy <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/australia/">Australians</a> are going positively <em>mental</em> for Nintendo all the same. According to industry tracker Gfk, the Wii has just passed the 500,000 mark down under, making it the fastest-selling console in history. Well, Australia's history. Does that still count as cool?<br /><br />The Wii achieved this monumental feat (remember, there's only 20 million people in Australia) in just 84 weeks since launch in December 2006. On top of the "hey, we're awesome!" announcement, a few new release dates for some hot Wii games have been revealed. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/e308-wii-fanboy-hands-on-with-wario-land-shake-it/"><em>Wario Land: The Shake Dimension</em></a> will be hitting consoles on September 25th, and <em>Trauma Center: Second Opinion</em> (yes, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/trauma-center-makes-it-to-australia-stat/"><em>that</em> neglected</a>) is coming out August 28th.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/wii-pwns-australia-with-500-000-sold/">Wii pwns Australia with 500,000 sold</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jul 2008 14:00:00 EST. Our prayers after a vacant <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e308/">E3</a> have been answered. After <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-a-little-more-from-the-dark-brotherhood/">complaining like little kids</a> that we have no video for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic-chronicles/"><em>Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood</em></a>, a hefty sack of media has dropped by, showing off gameplay in several different areas of the upcoming RPG. The above portion is titled Green Hill, and it seems like the kind of happy chappy level present early on in most Sonic games.<br /><br />Hit the break for four more videos, showcasing new levels and a few extra characters. Comments thus far? The environments look excellent, with the subtle <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/fresh-sonic-chronicles-screens-keep-us-hopeful/">painted style</a> complementing the 3D character models very nicely. The lack of action in these clips is a little disappointing, but we know there will be plenty of that, what with it being a turn-based RPG and all. Quietly confident in this one.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/a-snippet-of-sonic-chronicles-gameplay/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A snippet of Sonic Chronicles gameplay</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/a-snippet-of-sonic-chronicles-gameplay/">A snippet of Sonic Chronicles gameplay</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jul 2008 12:30:00 EST. The next question is obvious: will we see <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gta/"><em>GTA</em></a> on the Wii? Speaking to MTV, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/keighley-walks-a-fine-line-with-reggie-dunaway-defends-herself/">Reggie</a> had an answer for that -- maybe. Lay it out straight for us, home boy.<br /><br />The fact is, it's not really in Nintendo's "power" to simply rock up and demand Take Two and Rockstar get working on waggling with hookers. Reggie simply said a Wii installment "is all based on what <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rockstar/">Rockstar</a> and Take Two want to do." If they want to go ahead with it, Reggie won;t have a problem, saying "if they build a bottoms-up game that takes advantage of what we do well, I'd love to see it on the platform."<br /><br />We would love to see it on the platform too. Simon Jeffrey, known around some parts as the President of Sega, is either very smart or ... not. It's a fairly simple story here -- he casually mentioned <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil/"><em>Resident Evil 5</em></a> in an interview about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/wii-fanboy-eyes-on-madworld/"><em>MadWorld</em></a>, saying "when that [<em>Resident Evil 5</em>] happens on the Wii, it'll help," referring to attracting more hardcore gamers to the platform.<br /><br />Later, he referred to the comment as a "slip of the tongue," but that doesn't mean it's not true. If it wasn't true, he would say "mistake". We're not going to hoist the <em>confirmed</em> flag or anything (as some have been awfully quick to do so), but a guy so high up in the industry couldn't possibly pull this rumor out of thin air on the spot, right? We'll keep you updated, so any <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/29/wii-warm-up-resident-disappointment/"><em>RE5</em> hopefuls</a> should stay tuned!<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.infendo.com/wii/resident-evil-5-accidentally-confirmed-for-wii/">Infendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/rumor-resident-evil-5-rears-its-ugly-head-once-more/">Rumor: Resident Evil 5 rears its ugly head once more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jul 2008 09:30:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/castlevania/"><em>Castlevania</em></a> series has found a great home on the DS, and despite the fact that it's side-scrolling action in every game as usual, there's usually some kind of twist to spice up the action. The new trailer for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/order-of-ecclesia/"><em>Order of Ecclesia</em></a></em> shows exactly that, as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/e308-castlevania-aka-shanoa-the-vampire-slayer/">Shanoa the vampire slayer</a> uses a grappling hook to shoot around the level and reach unreachable areas. <br /><br />Every fan of the series should be on an ultimate high for the game's imminent release in Q3 this year. <strike>Why, the fast slingshot action almost makes up for sluggish gameplay and boring combat, evident in all Castlevania games.</strike> We love <em>Castlevania</em> here at DS Fanboy. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/13/basically-order-of-ecclesia-looks-rad/">It looks great</a>!<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/castlevania-order-of-ecclesia-grapples-a-new-trailer/">Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia grapples a new trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 14:00:00 EST. While the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/sam-and-max-in-motion/">first Wii media</a> for the upcoming <em>Sam and Max: Season One</em> wasn't particularly enlightening, it was pretty funny -- a staple of the <em>S&amp;M</em> (wow, bet <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/telltale/">Telltale</a> didn't think that one through) series. That has all changed with the latest trailer, as the titular characters give us a sneak peek at their entire adventure catalogue.<br /><br />Many gamers may have missed out on the comedy duo's episodic capers during its run on the PC, so the chance to pick up the entire first season on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/16/wii-fanboy-review-zack-and-wiki/">adventure-capable</a> Wii is a no-brainer. You'll find noir-style music, wisecrackin' rats and beating up old people in the promising video, so there's no reason it won't be totally awesome. Look out for Reality 2.0 in Q3 2008.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/play-it-again-sam-and-max/">Play it again, Sam ... and Max</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 12:30:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/metal-slug-7-in-2008-for-europe/">unsourced rumor</a> of a 2008 European <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-slug-7"><em>Metal Slug 7</em></a> release date must be acknowledged. It turns out that Europeans will not only get <em>Metal Slug 7</em> in 2008, but they will also get it pretty much the same time as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/27/metal-slug-rescues-north-america-this-fall/">everywhere else</a>. A press release has come through and announced an "Autumn 2008" release. Yes, that means Fall -- Autumn is for those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/bloggers/chris-greenhough/">lame Europeans</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/bloggers/phil-larsen/">non-lame Australians</a>.<br /><br />To accompany this timely news, five new screens of the kill-o-rama have been updated in our gallery. With seven brand new missions six playable characters and apparently the biggest SLUG vehicle ever, this is exactly what hardcore <em>Metal Slug </em>fans need. <br /><br /><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/metal-slug-7-bombarding-europe-this-year/">Metal Slug 7 bombarding Europe this year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 11:45:00 EST. We promised an update, so here we are! That oft-discussed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/19/rumors-new-sonic-game-and-dead-rising-for-us/"><em>Nintendo Power</em> cover</a> did contain some righteous screens of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/sonic-and-the-black-knight-is-totally-real/"><em>Sonic and the Black Knight</em></a> within its papery (Remember paper? The stuff you learned stuff from before the internet?) depths, and we commandeered the above shot for your viewing pleasure.<br /><br />This new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic/"><em>Sonic</em></a> adventure takes the series in a new direction which, as evidenced by fans continuously lamenting the destruction of the franchise, is sorely needed. The initial reaction hasn't been positive, as fans don't expect this game to be some kind of salvation. Some gameplay details have been revealed, including multiple characters (namely Shadow and Knuckles), different sword maneuvers, and a system which earns knighthood points depending on your good or bad actions during levels. Oh, and his sword is named Calibur, and it talks.<br /><br />Well, we all wanted Sonic to go really fast, and that turned out to be a <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/sonicthehedgehog?q=sonic">big bust</a>, so what now? Do you feel like a passenger on a train bound for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/bury-the-shovelware/">Shovelware City</a>? If you had a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/virtually-overlooked-dragon-power/">dragon</a>, what would you do? The most amazing creature in existence in under your control, so you'll surely embark on epic adventures across the world, right? You wouldn't make it ... fly through rings, would you?<br /><br />Apparently, that's the extent of Codemasters' creative efforts thus far on the upcoming <em>Dragonology</em> for the Wii. Based on the <a href="http://www.ologyworld.com/">popular books</a> chronicling and categorizing everything to do with the mystical world of dragons, <em>Dragonology</em> will let you create a character, hit the skies and undertake many ring-flying, egg-collecting and photo-taking adventures.<br /><br />The above screen requests the player to fly through a set of rings "more challenging than the first," which implies more than one ring-flying course. Which is more than one too many. You can check out more screens from a promising IP <a href="http://www.worthplaying.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&amp;artid=2376">here</a>, but the end results is looking a bit flat already. Well, we heard the news not too long ago. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/cooking-mama-going-3d-er/"><em>Cooking Mama: World Kitchen</em></a> is getting down to serious business, with updated 3D graphics and sophisticated moton controls. Hooray, huzzah -- too often have we wished the Wiimote to be a spatula for flipping burgers. Why enjoy the sight, smell and taste of cooking <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/12/get-a-slammin-burger-in-no-more-heroes/">real burgers</a> when you can do it without all those sensory annoyances?<br /><br />Yes, it's always fun to laugh at "life" simulation games (even if this life is a cartoon featuring <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/cooking-mama-world-kitchen-1/936040/">big-head Mamas</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/cooking-mama-world-kitchen-1/936043/">cooking scores</a>). The real truth, though, is that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/cooking-mama/"><em>Cooking Mama</em></a> games are usually pretty fun, and the fresh new gallery shows a pretty decent look at the upcoming Wii installment. Bon appetit!<br /><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/whip-up-a-batch-of-cooking-mama-world-kitchen-screens/">Whip up a batch of Cooking Mama: World Kitchen screens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jul 2008 13:15:00 EST. It's funny, because the most entertaining thing to do is spin the world really fast, randomly stop on a location and promise yourself that you will travel there. After that, you realize that you are dirt poor, you can't travel overseas because of those threatening references you made to the UN, and all your assets have been seized by the state. Sure, you did have that promising career in waste management lined up, but it's too late to do anything about that now!<br /><br />... Ahem. So, there's a globe thing coming to the DS now. It's not an instant-weather application or anything, but rather a detailed map of various worldy data. In Earth mode, you can check out specific information for each country, including climate, population and economic details. In <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/18/history-channel-aims-at-schooling-you-on-ancient-civilizations/">History mode</a>, you can touch a region to learn about how it has evolved over time -- evidently dating back to 3100BC. <br />Finally, the Card mode lets you collect approximately 500 cards which have various puzzles and questions to answer. Obviously, the whole thing is in Japanese, but localization wouldn't be too much of a stretch considering the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/cooking-guide-caters-to-the-hungry-and-the-fussy/">wealth</a> of "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/e308-the-jamie-oliver-game-is-really-cool/">edutainment</a>" titles we see on the DS these days.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/globe-ds-a-big-blue-marble-of-learning/">Globe DS: a big blue marble of learning</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jul 2008 11:00:00 EST. <span style="float: left; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 7px;"> <script> var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/Sonic_and_the_Black_Knight_is_totally_real'; </script> <script src="http://digg.com/api/diggthis.js"></script></span> After that sexy Nintendo Power cover (check it out again after the break) and a pretty <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/19/rumors-new-sonic-game-and-dead-rising-for-us/">legit-sounding scenario</a>, <em>Sonic and the Black Knight </em>is now confirmed as a Wii-exclusive title. Some guy on the official SEGA message boards "<a href="http://boards2.sega.com/sega_board/viewtopic.php?p=2325079">confirmed</a>" it was real, but offered no details beyond waiting for the official page on sega.com. So, like the genius detectives we are, a short investigation of the official page turned up <a href="http://www.sega-australia.com/games/?g=491">this information</a>.<br /><br />The game takes place in a "storybook world of Arthurian legend," with Sonic wielding a sword to do battle with various ne'er-do-wells in medieval times. Not much else is explained beyond that, but we'll keep you posted on any updates to the official page. Stick around and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic/">Sonic</a> will thank you.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/sonic-and-the-black-knight-is-totally-real/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic and the Black Knight is totally real</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/sonic-and-the-black-knight-is-totally-real/">Sonic and the Black Knight is totally real</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jul 2008 08:45:00 EST. It seems the glorious <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/03/kart-this-cake-to-your-wedding/">baked treat</a> that Peach offered Mario at the end of his arduous <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/super-mario-64/">Nintendo 64</a> adventure is long gone. She dumped his podgy butt in the moat and ate it all for herself, and seemingly continued to enjoy royalty snacks for some time afterwards. Peach has plumped up, and now you can <em>buy</em> her!<br /><br />This <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/7-NINTENDO-SUPER-MARIO-BROS-Princess-Peach-Plush-Doll_W0QQitemZ180266326619QQihZ008QQcategoryZ348QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">eBay auction</a> comes down to a matter of preference. Do you prefer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mario-super-sluggers/923170/">slim, active Peach</a> or hedonistic, pampered royalty Peach? Let you wallet do the talking. The idea of a plus-sized princess is actually pretty interesting. Someone should totally make a game out of it, although we're sure it'll <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/impressions-fat-princess/"><em>never</em> happen</a>.<br /><br />[Thanks, Alejandro!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/20/peach-ate-marios-cake/">Peach ate Mario's cake</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 20 Jul 2008 16:00:00 EST. We've seen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/naruto-clash-of-the-screens-2/">screens</a>, dabbled a bit in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/naruto-clash-of-the-screens-2/">gameplay footage</a> -- now it''s time to get a word in edgeways from Glenn Stotz, introduced as a <em>Naruto</em> "product specialist." A paid <em>Naruto</em> fanboy, perhaps? And here we are watching the series for free like suckers, when we should be raking in the cash. Le sigh.<br /><br />Stotz talks about <em>Clash of Ninja Revolution 2</em>, which is a pretty ambitious product with a deep storyline and a huge range of Wiimote gesture controls. It's a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fighting/">fighting</a> game at heart, but we wouldn't mind a fighter that actually tries to present some semblance of a plot. Watch the interview and you'll see that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/naruto/">Naruto</a></em> is a perfect license for doing exactly that.<br /><br />...<br /><br />Believe it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/e308-naruto-tries-out-the-new-interview-jutsu/">E308: Naruto tries out the new Interview Jutsu</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jul 2008 20:00:00 EST. These particular cases are themed just fine, but it's nothing we've seen before. Etsy craftsperson filmfatale has gone for a generic "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/08/this-case-is-hungry-for-handhelds/">critters</a>" design. Someone might filch the idea and use critters in an upcoming game ... which would spawn a disturbing merchandising cycle. Coming soon from a developer near you -- Critters: The Case: The Game: The Case.<br /><br />Some materials used here are none other than recycled clothing (among other suitable fabrics). That's a pretty good idea. In fact, anyone with a leftover surplus of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/gyakuten-kenji/748862/">puffy shirts</a> or parachute pants should probably get to work, because homemade cases are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/02/ya-rly-another-homemade-case/">all the rage</a>. When it comes to racing on the DS, we have the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mario-kart/">good</a>, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/08/hes-speed-racer-and-he-drives-real-fast/">bad</a>, and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/02/bury-the-shovelware-homie-rollerz/">monstrously ugly</a>. <em>Moto Racer DS</em> looks to be a refreshing change from the usual flurry of mediocrity -- both as a motorbike racing game and as a pretty impressive technical showcase. The environments look nicely detailed, and the tracks scream FUN!<br /><br />The biggest selling point we can see is the aptly-named Stylus Precision Handling (SPH). There isn't much of an indication on how this will work, and the touchscreen images in the gallery display only a map. <em>Moto Racer DS</em> supports up to 8 player Wi-Fi races, and features 44 tracks in a variety of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/racing/">road and dirt racing</a>. That's quite a hefty amount of content, and we're hoping for a solid experience when it comes out in Q4 this year.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/moto-racer-ds/">Moto Racer DS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/moto-racer-ds/#932380"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/nobilis_-_moto_racer_ds_-_gp__4__png_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/moto-racer-ds/#932379"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/nobilis_-_moto_racer_ds_-_gp__5__png_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/moto-racer-ds/#932378"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/nobilis_-_moto_racer_ds_-_freestyle__4__png_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/moto-racer-ds/#932377"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/nobilis_-_moto_racer_ds_-_freestyle__5__png_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/moto-racer-ds/#932376"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/nobilis_-_motoracer_ds_-_traffic__2__png_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/moto-racer-ds-is-two-wheeled-tomfoolery/">Moto Racer DS is two-wheeled tomfoolery</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jul 2008 17:00:00 EST. June was the month of Sony, Sony, Sony ... and DS. With the PlayStation brand achieving positive results across the board (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/15/otaclock-ds-is-pants-wettingly-great/"><span style="font-style: italic;">MGS4</span></a> undoubtedly being the reason for doubling May's PS3 figures), Microsoft picked up a small increase in sales for the Xbox 360. The DS performed spectacularly as always, and gained a massive jump in sales thanks to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-guitar-hero-back-on-tour-soon/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Guitar Hero: On Tour</span></a>.<br /><br />The only console on a downslide for the month was the Wii, yet it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/npd-says-a-winner-is-wii-in-the-u-s/">still trounced</a> all non-Nintendo competition. It's like those guys at school who barely even tried and still got top marks, while everyone else studied their butts off to scrape by. Ah, the mysteries of life.<br />

The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/dead-rising-to-eat-brains-of-wii-gamers/">atomic bomb</a> of a few days past has had enough time to send shivers of excitement over the entire Wii community, and now a groin-grabbingly atmospheric <a href="http://www.capcom.co.jp/deadrising_wii/">website</a> has been delivered by Capcom, adding fuel to the fire of <em>Dead Rising</em>. Details are scant at present, but a number of Wii screens have popped up that look mighty fine.<br /><br />We were hesitant to report the rumor of an over-the-shoulder, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/04/rumor-nintendo-still-hurt-about-re4-reason-why-capcom-doesnt/"><em>RE4</em></a>-esque viewpoint being added to the Wii version, as the more "worldy" members of the Fanboy team didn't consider such a camera angle would be effective with <em>Dead Rising</em>'s gameplay. However, a couple of screens in the new gallery show exactly that, with an on-screen aiming cursor and everything. Hey, it's a zombie-killing game, what could possibly <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/22/grab-a-single-kernel-of-popcorn-time-for-a-short-zombie-movie/">go wrong</a>?<br /><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.vooks.net/modules.php?module=article&amp;id=13112">Vooks</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/dead-rising-website-awakens/">Dead Rising website awakens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jul 2008 12:30:00 EST. Yesterday, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/ubisoft-e3-timing-not-appropriate/">Alain Corre</a> of Ubisoft commented on the size and location of this year's E3, wanting it bigger and better. Today, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/electronic-arts/">Electronic Arts</a> CEO <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/john-riccitiello/">John Riccitiello</a> joined the party, outright stating "I hate E3 like this." Hate is such an ugly word. Dislike?<br /><br />Ubisoft's Laurent Detoc also jumped into the fray. Instead of taking a subtle approach, he laid it out straight and said "E3 this year is terrible. The world used to come to E3. Now it's like a pipe-fitters show in the basement." There is a debate on whether E3 should be a show for the world or an exclusive media-only event, and the difference between the two is massive. This year, only 5,000 media representatives attended, where in the past 60,000 eager gamers would cover the show floor.<br /><br />With EA (and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ubisoft/">Ubisoft</a>) having the resources to put on a bigger display than pretty much anyone in the world, it's no wonder they want as much room and as big an audience as physically possible. Again, what are your thoughts on this? Are you happy to be bombarded with <strike>booth babes</strike> explosive gaming news and excitement in May every year, or do you enjoy the lower-key, need-to-know approach of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e308/">this year's event</a>?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/riccitiello-i-hate-e3-like-this">Gamesindustry.biz</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/riccitiello-i-hate-e3-like-this/">Riccitiello: 'I hate E3 like this'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jul 2008 11:00:00 EST. With the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tomb-raider/"><em>Tomb Raider</em></a> series really delivering the goods in <em>Legend</em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/23/lara-has-got-some-new-tools/"><em>Anniversary</em></a>, hopes are at an all-time high for the upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/23/the-underworld-opens-its-gates-in-time-for-the-holidays/"><em>Tomb Raider: Underworld</em></a>. Lara Croft can't seem to stay out of trouble, and all logic suggests she should settle in to a nice teaching job or a part-time psychology course. Of course, the biggest adventuring badass since <em>Indiana Jones</em> can't sit still for long, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/eidos/">Eidos</a> has kindly given us a behind-the-scenes look at the development team's goals for <em>Underworld</em>.<br /><br />The epic music and snappy camerawork make Creative Director Eric Lindstrom and Lead Artist Eric Neuburger out to be some kind of <strike>big time nerds</strike> superheroes, and we will support this theory if <em>Underworld</em> turns out to be any good. If past precedent is to be relied upon, it will be.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/underneath-underworld/">Underneath Underworld</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jul 2008 10:15:00 EST. Basically, back the way it was, where Ubisoft could get a spot on the massive show floor and put on a glorious gaming spectacle. The overemphasis on glitz and glamour is pretty much why they ditched the old format in the first place.<br /><br />Corre doesn't delve into specifics about what exactly the show should be, beyond being bigger and earlier. However, he does mention the lack of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/retail/">retail presence</a>, which publishers would use to establish plans for the remainder of the year. According to Corre, having the event in July digs too deep into the year, and holiday plans can't be made as effectively. However, there still needs to be "reasonable limits as to noise, attendees or whatever."<br /><br />What do you think? Has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e308/">E3</a> settled into a nice groove this year, or do you wish the "funfair" atmosphere made a return in some form?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/ubisoft-e3-timing-not-appropriate/">Ubisoft: E3 timing 'not appropriate' </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Jul 2008 20:00:00 EST. You don't have time to be reading this. In fact, by spending valuable seconds reading this very sentence, you have wasted enough time to insult these new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tales-of-symphonia/"><em>Dawn of the New World</em></a> trailers by not giving them your undivided attention. This massive RPG loves spamming fans with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/25/tales-of-symphonia-videos-pretty-much-show-off-the-entire-game/">countless videos</a>, and we don't like it. What is a <em>Roogoo</em>, exactly? Well, it's not quite a kangaroo, not quite a pile of goo, but ... we have no idea. While everyone stumbles around trying to figure out these mysterious things, SouthPeak Games had an idea of its own -- bring the colorful <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/puzzle/">puzzler</a> to Wii and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/roogoo-jumps-from-xbla-to-the-ds/">DS</a>!<br /><br />Previously available on XBLA, the Wii version will naturally use motion controls for its core gameplay. You'll be tasked with guiding meteors through rotating platforms, which will apparently stop the evil Meemoos from draining the energy of the planet. Pffft. That doesn't sound very realistic, does it? What are games <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/22/american-mcgee-likes-where-the-wii-is-taking-us/">coming to</a>?<br /><br /><em>Roogoo</em> will feature multiplayer action for up to four players, in co-op, competitive and "party" modes. Additions to the Wii version are evident, but explained only as "gameplay twists." Well, if you say so. We're actually looking forward to it, because the recent round of puzzle games have been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/metareview-boom-blox/">top-notch</a>. Check out the XBLA trailer at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/roogoo-jumps-from-xbla-to-the-ds/">DS Fanboy</a> for <em>Roogoo</em> in motion.<br /><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/goo-d-news-for-roogoo-gurus/">Goo-d news for Roogoo gurus </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Jul 2008 17:00:00 EST. If you've been waiting for <em>Korg DS-10</em> to come out -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/10/xseed-brings-korg-ds-10-to-north-america-on-the-tenth-month/">wait a little longer</a>. In the meantime, we have the next best thing: a video of a badass <a href="http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=7QYNsEUrmyY">Japanese dude rocking out</a> with the portable synthesizer. This guy has a cool shirt, cool hair and an attitude of all-out righteousness. Unsurprisingly, he knows how to make <em>Korg DS-10</em> really sing, especially since he's been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/12/twiddling-knobs-in-korg-ds-10/">hard at work before</a>.<br /><br />The less musically-inclined of us won't really have any clue how to use the thing, but we're sure all musos out there will know exactly how to configure an impressive array of blips and bloops into something worth listening to.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/e308-korg-ds-10-makes-cool-people-cooler/">E308: Korg DS-10 makes cool people cooler</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Jul 2008 13:30:00 EST. You know what you've forgotten to do this week? Amidst all that hustle and bustle of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e308/">E3</a>, you haven't had time for anything else except a few rounds of <em>Smash Bros, </em>possibly to let off some steam after <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/wii-warm-up-give-us-your-three-cents-about-e3/#c13199244">getting all distraught</a> over Nintendo's press conference. You haven't had time to <em>buy any games</em>!<br />
<br />
It just so happens that <em>Toys R Us</em> has one of the absolute best Wii games ever at a corking price. We originally thought <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/21/another-price-drop-for-zack-and-wiki/">$19.99</a> was a bargain for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/zack-and-wiki"><em>Zack and Wiki</em></a>, but that price is old news. It's now time to contribute to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/ign-conducting-the-zack-and-wiki-hype-train/">Buy Zack and Wiki Campaign</a> by picking this excellent adventure up for <a href="http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2890597">$10</a>. You can't afford not to.<br />

If all-out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/smash-bros-brawl/">battle royales</a> are your thing, you might want to check out the above trailer for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/naruto/"><em>Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2</em></a>. It seems to meld the finesse of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/naruto-clash-of-the-screens-2/">fighting game</a> with the brutality of a brawler, and evidently does a pretty good job of it. Hopefully, the key to winning battles won't just be spamming the Shadow Clone Jutsu over and over again -- we are looking for a nice, balanced fighting experience. <br /><br />If you look closely, you'll be able to see a few on-screen indicators of particular Wiimote movements in combat. Gone are the days of pushing complex sequences of buttons rapidly to execute attacks -- fighting games have evolved somewhat to recognize fluid movements as a valid form of control. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/27/wii-volution-interviews-dbz-budokai-tenkaichi-3-producer/">It works</a> -- believe it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/e308-naruto-believes-in-this-new-trailer/">E308: Naruto believes in this new trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Jul 2008 11:45:00 EST. So ... huh? After sitting through the above four minutes of explosions, nuclear symbols and flashing lights, we have learned nothing about the upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/duke-nukem-killing-his-way-to-a-new-trilogy/"><em>Duke Nukem Trilogy</em></a> for the DS. Quite frankly, this isnt the kind of trailer you want to show at E3, when countless other videos opt to show <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/e308-age-of-empires-trailer-now-with-less-developer/">gameplay footage</a> and new details. Also, four minutes long? Sure, there's a bit of metal rocking out there, but wouldn't we rather watch a music video instead of the words <em>Critical Mass</em> and <em>Proving Grounds</em> blasting all over the screen? You bet.<br /><br />The rest of the Fanboy team thinks this irritable blogger is missing the joke of the (clearly satirical) trailer. They are probably right.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/e308-what-an-awful-awful-duke-nukem-trailer/">E308: What an awful, awful Duke Nukem trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Jul 2008 11:00:00 EST. In the spirit of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/n/"><em>N+</em></a> featuring hundreds of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/user-created-content-in-n/">levels</a>, we've received hundreds (well, lots anyway) of screenshots and two new gameplay videos (head past the break for the second). If there is a limit to how long we can watch a little stick figure bouncing off walls and performing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/20/n-knocks-it-up-a-notch-with-new-trailers-bam/">gravity-defying stunts</a>, we haven't yet reached the critical threshold. <br /><br />You can start learning about the mind-bending N+ experience with our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/20/ds-fanboy-preview-n/">hands-on preview</a>, effectively taking "the best platforming engine in Flash, ever," for a ride. The thing is, no matter how many screens and videos you ogle, there's plenty more brand <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/24/a-pendulous-new-n-level/">new levels</a> being created constantly. Best of all, the DS version is just as full-featured as any other installment, including a full level creator and Wi-Fi multiplayer. N+ should be a sure-fire hit when it's released in August.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/e308-n-media-leaps-deftly-into-our-grasp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>E308: N+ media leaps deftly into our grasp</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/e308-n-media-leaps-deftly-into-our-grasp/">E308: N+ media leaps deftly into our grasp</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Jul 2008 21:00:00 EST. As a plucky young ninja, Naruto does heaps of fighting. More fighting than a mob of pre-teens looking to grab that last copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-pokemon-rangers-2-gets-localized-offers-footage/"><em>Pokemon Rangers 2</em></a>. The difference here is that <em>Naruto</em> -- the anime -- is pretty cool, and occasionally spawns a few decent products -- the games. Today's <em>Naruto</em> game is none other than <em>Clash of Ninja Revolution</em> -- the sequel.<br /><br />We heard about <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/27/naruto-clash-of-the-sequel/">Clash of Nnja Revolution 2</a></em> a while back, and it was better-than-bad news, considering the original <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/narutoclashofninjamvz?q=naruto">isn't too shabby</a>. It's not amazing, but hey -- sequels are designed for improvement ... right? If you think the screens in the new gallery below show a promising future for <em>Naruto</em> games on the Wii, let the public know. As a <em>Pokemon</em>-esque anime phenomenon, it's pretty gosh darn entertaining -- and we want awesome games to come along for the ride. Believe it!<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/naruto-clash-of-ninja-revolution-2/">Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/naruto-clash-of-ninja-revolution-2/#926936"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/new_stage_hidden_leaf_village_riverside_2nd_tier_hinata_vs_kiba2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/naruto-clash-of-ninja-revolution-2/#926935"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/new_stage_hidden_leaf_village_riverside_2nd_tier_hinata_vs_kiba_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/naruto-clash-of-ninja-revolution-2/#926934"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/new_stage_hidden_leaf_village_riverside_1st_tier_shikamaru_vs_ino4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/naruto-clash-of-ninja-revolution-2/#926933"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/new_stage_final_valley_1st_tier_4_player_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/naruto-clash-of-ninja-revolution-2/#926932"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/handsigns_chakra_replenish_naruto.jiraiya_vs_itachi.kisame_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Via press release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/naruto-clash-of-the-screens-2/">Naruto: Clash of the Screens ... 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Jul 2008 19:45:00 EST. There's something incredibly unsettling about a giant Batman (and Robin), made out of LEGO, designed to promote a <em>LEGO Batman</em> game. First <a href="http://www.lego.com/en-US/default.aspx">LEGO</a>, then <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/west_2.jpg">Batman</a>, then <a href="http://batman.lego.com/en-US/default.aspx">Batman as LEGO</a>, then Batman in a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lego-batman/">LEGO game</a>, then a giant LEGO Batman made out of LEGO ... as we said -- it's unsettling.<br /><br />The <em>Joystiq</em> team at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e308/">E3</a> happened upon these giant plastic surprises while checking out the Warner Interactive booth. We're no strangers to bizarre <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/lego-mania-nintendo-fanboyism-combined/">LEGO creations</a>, but these structures defy all conventional logic and will probably create a rip in the space-time continuum. In short, we want them. Badly.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/giant-lego-batman-questions-everything-you-ever-believed-in/">E308: Giant LEGO Batman questions everything you ever believed in</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Jul 2008 15:45:00 EST. <em> Blue Dragon Plus</em> is only a few months away (if you happen to live in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/blue-dragon-plus-in-japan-this-september-with-uninspiring-box/">Japan</a>). It's not too much of a stretch to expect a delay in North America, despite the vague "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/16/blue-dragon-away-shuffle-dungeon-confirmed-for-u-s/">fiscal year</a>" confirmations we've been hearing about. The artwork of Akira Toriyama must be acknowledged on a tiny screen real soon, or RPG fans are going to start dishing out angry mob justice.<br /><br />The "promise" we experienced with the <em>Blue Dragon Plus</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/01/blue-dragon-plus-site-shows-promise/">website</a> has been somewhat fulfilled, after being updated with a new Japanese trailer. While this isn't especially handy for English speakers, it does run for over three minutes, giving fans a good deal of gameplay footage, CG cutscenes and character art. Action games in general aren't the best for the touchscreen -- but we want to be proven wrong. Will Daniel Craig's portable outing be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/07/ds-fanboy-review-ninja-gaiden-dragon-sword/">an exception</a> to the laws of crappiness? The judgment of a Fanboy is brutal, terrifying and often accompanied by various LOLs and ZOMGs. In fact, the revelation that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/konami-confirms-our-worst-fears-castlevania-judgment-for-wii/"><em>Castlevania: Judgment</em></a> for the Wii was to be a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fighting/">fighting</a> game resulted in the biggest ZOMG of them all. Hey, Konami may be tampering with a classic formula, and pitting classic characters against each other for no excuse but to witness a violent showdown -- but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/11/wii-fanboy-review-smash-bros-brawl/">what the heck is wrong with that</a>?<br /><br />Bring down your gavel of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/09/castlevania-poor-fashion-judgement/">screenshot-hating</a> justice after viewing the latest images in the gallery. <div align="left">The adventures of photojournalist Frank West have taken him into one of the darkest, filthiest, most vile and disgusting cesspools of scum and villainy in human history -- the Xbox 360 (zzzzzing!). Now it appears he is branching out to the sunny shores of Nintendo, as <em>Dead Rising</em> for the Wii has been revealed in the latest <em>Famitsu</em>! Happy day for humans, bad day for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/21/zombie-kirby-on-the-loose-other-infected-headed-your-way/">zombies</a>.<br /><br /><em>Dead Rising</em> was Capcom's fresh foray into the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/survival-horror/">survival horror</a> genre, after spending years on the same <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil/"><em>Resident Evil</em></a> formula. It was critically acclaimed and a blast to play, despite being criticized for awkward saving mechanics and time constraints. Based on the success of <em>RE4: Wii Edition</em>, Capcom went ahead and pulled <em>Dead Rising</em> up from the grave. And we're glad they did.<br /><br />According to some <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327345">brief translations</a>, new content in the Wii port includes extra weapons, a brand new (undoubtedly psychotic) boss and motion-controlled attacks. The graphics will look as close as possible to the 360 version, and the gameplay purportedly takes into consideration the needs of casual players. Could this mean a more streamlined save system for ease of use? Possibly.<br /><a href="http://wiieveryday.blogspot.com/2008/07/famitsu-20080718.html"><br />Enter here</a> (if you dare) for the full range of <em>Dead Rising</em> scans.</div>

You've read the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-wii-fanboy-reacts-to-nintendos-keynote/">drunken ramblings</a> of the Fanboy team as they stumbled through the revelations of the Nintendo press conference. Now it's time to have your say, and let us know just how impressive the lineup of presentations was. Is Cammie a decent enough public speaker with the whole world watching? Will <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wii-music/"><em>Wii Music</em></a> stink out concert halls worldwide, or receive a standing ovation? Is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-iwata-mario-and-zelda-teams-hard-at-work/">Iwata</a> cooler than you? <em>Absolutely</em>.<br /><br />Go on, Nintendo can take your punishment. If you hated it, let fly with reasons why. If you loved it, gush about your favorite game (aside from the default selection of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-first-animal-crossing-city-folk-footage/"><em>Animal Crossing</em></a>). All in all, was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-wii-fanboy-on-day-two/">E3 2008</a> a success or a blunder for Nintendo? You decide.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/wii-warm-up-give-us-your-three-cents-about-e3/">Wii Warm Up: Give us your three cents about E3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Jul 2008 08:00:00 EST.
