PSA: How to un-ugly your GBA games on 3DS

Dec 19th 2011 12:16PM (Joystiq)
You know what would be great? If you could select the screen size that you wanna use. I would probably make it a few cm bigger just because it is too small. Not to complain, but you can't really win right now. Either you look at a really tiny screen and hold it right against your nose, or you look at a really blurry image. I'm no programmer, but I would assume it wouldn't be THAT hard to let you choose a screen size

Super Mario 3D Land review: Depths worth plumbing

@Derp Sandwich
I don't understand all the people complaining about the current 3DS design.
Yes, the battery life is relatively short but there are fairly cheap ways to increase it. And quite frankly, this would still only be an issue on a road trip or airplane.
The design to start is at least on par with the DS lite which was very nice. It's not like nintendo were assholes and make the screen really dark only so they could improve it on later systems.
My only complaint about it is the placement of the Dpad which is very difficult to use. Thankfully most of the 3DS games are using the analog, and I bought the system for 3DS games!!

Editorial -- Nintendo's creeping doom: how the company came to misplace $926 million

I really don't know if Nintendo will recover.
I truthfully think that the WiiU is a bad, bad move on Nintendo's part.
I think that part of the problem with the 3DS is that a large chunk of the people who bought the DS were the 'casual' gamer that Nintendo was so gung-ho to target. This so called 'casual' gamers are not going to have the same drive to buy a new console as the hardcore gamers. They are content with their current DS consoles.
With the Wii, I feel that Nintendo lost a huge chunk of its core, "hardcore" audience. These people (like myself) will not buy a WiiU at launch. The 'casual' gamers I believe will see the WiiU as just another Wii console, and they will wait for a price drop to hop on board.

Just me speculating

Here's the Mario Kart 7 steering wheel for 3DS

Oct 26th 2011 11:59PM (Joystiq)
The sad thing is that people will buy this.

Also, on the wii at least the friggen TV screen didnt rotate with you as you turned the steering wheel.
This thing would be complete garbage as you turn the entire device trying to steer your kart.
What a load of crap. One of those stocking stuffers people are gonna get for Christmas and never open

The point: to have fun racing against friends / anonymous people in the realm of Mario Kart. This involves the use of various items such as the red shell, green shell, and the dastardly blue shell.
There are eight racers who all start at the same checkered line. After three laps the positions and times of the racers are recorded and points are awarded based on your position.
This goes on for a set number of races (depending on the mode). Generally it involves four races and then the points are tallied and the winner is determined.

Yep this would probably work for sure if you buy one at walmart about 1 or 2 days before the price drop.

@Histeria

I really don't like this idea. Don't get me wrong, I love videogames, but I think that everything has a certain place.
For example, I work at a restaurant and honestly about 50% of the kids eating there have a DS, iPad, PSP or some other gadget with them while they wait to get their meal.
I don't think that people should become dependent on always having a videogame with them (or whatever it is they enjoy as a hobby).

I am so happy this is being introduced in the US and not Canada. What a utter load of crap. Five years of imprisonment? That is just wrong, there is no other way to look at that. Not to mention the fact that the artists who's songs are used in youtube videos have direct links to iTunes.
I would honestly assume that most artists would be GLAD that their songs appear on these videos. Why the hell would that deter people from buying a song? It 100% for sure encourages people
