Cable, Wolverine, Psylocke, and Domino were already announced as making appearances in the upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/deadpool"><em>Deadpool</em></a> game by High Moon Studios (due out on June 28), and now you can add one more X-(wo)man to that list. Rogue is joining the team, and as you can see above, she's brought a new look with her.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deadpool-psylocke-domino-and-rogue-cards/">Deadpool (Psylocke, Domino, and Rogue Cards)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deadpool-psylocke-domino-and-rogue-cards/#5972913"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/deadpoolpsylocke_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deadpool-psylocke-domino-and-rogue-cards/#5972912"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/deadpooldomino_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deadpool-psylocke-domino-and-rogue-cards/#5972914"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/deadpoolrogue_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/20/rogue-joins-the-gallery-of-guest-stars-in-the-deadpool-game/">Rogue joins the gallery of guest stars in the Deadpool game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Jun 2013 01:00:00 EST. <p><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/rome-total-war"><em>Rome: Total War</em></a> is one of those games that a certain, very dedicated audience loves, while the rest of the gaming world is left outside admiring the craft but not quite understanding the dedication. The first <em>Rome: Total War</em> <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/rome-total-war">was critically acclaimed</a> and spawned a line of expansions and updates, and now strategy giants The Creative Assembly are returning to the game with a full sequel, not to mention switching around the title to <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/total-war-rome-2"><em>Total War: Rome 2</em></a>.<br />
<br />
What's different? "Just about everything, really," says lead battle designer Jamie Ferguson during an interview at E3 2013. "In the ten years since we did <em>Rome 1</em>, we've completely overhauled the game. The game engine isn't even the same."<br />
<br />
TCA has released a number of <em>Total War</em> sequels and spinoffs throughout periods of history, and updated the original title with new features and systems already. But even despite those improvements, Ferguson says the new game has even more updates and improvements. "When we call it <em>Rome 2</em>, it might be a bit of a misnomer in a way," he says. "We might call it <em>Rome Redux</em>, I guess. It's a completely reworked vision of the game."<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/total-war-rome-2-e3-2013/">Total War: Rome 2 (E3 2013)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/total-war-rome-2-e3-2013/#5962220"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/28058twriie32013camelarchers_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/total-war-rome-2-e3-2013/#5962221"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/28059twriie32013camelcharge_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/total-war-rome-2-e3-2013/#5962222"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/28060twriie32013capturepoint_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/total-war-rome-2-e3-2013/#5962223"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/28061twriie32013egyptianflagship_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/total-war-rome-2-e3-2013/#5962225"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/28062twriie32013nilenavalbattle_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/16/total-war-rome-2-is-a-completely-reworked-vision-from-the-cre/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Total War: Rome 2 is a 'completely reworked vision' from The Creative Assembly</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/16/total-war-rome-2-is-a-completely-reworked-vision-from-the-cre/">Total War: Rome 2 is a 'completely reworked vision' from The Creative Assembly</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 16 Jun 2013 10:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pyramid-head">Pyramids</a> don't have a monopoly on terrifying head shapes, at least not if <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/the-evil-within"><em>The Evil Within</em></a> has anything to say about it. Everyone was talking about the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@ps4">PlayStation 4</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@xbox-one">Xbox One</a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/@wii-u">Wii U</a> during <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/e3-2013">E3</a> this year, but the highlight of the Innex booth wanted nothing to do with these newfangled gadgets. I'm talking about Retro-Bit's Wireless Hypermode controllers for the N64.<br />
<br />
I got a chance to try out one of these controllers with the original <em>Super Smash Bros</em> - serendipitously right before my <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/13/wii-u-and-3ds-smash-bros-will-not-have-cross-platform-play-wil/">interview</a> with its creator, Masahiro Sakurai - and it seemed to work swimmingly. I didn't notice any significant input latency, and was able to perform smash attacks without any trouble (as Samus, <em>obviously</em>).<br />
<br />
I doubt I spent more than five minutes with it, so I can't speak to longterm concerns like connectivity issues or battery life, but the initial impression was definitely a positive one. The build quality felt good, though not as high as official Nintendo controllers. The analog stick in particular felt like it didn't have as much weight or resistance to it as an official pad - more or less how you would expect a third-party controller to feel.<br />
<br />
Connection is achieved via a receiver plugged into the console's controller ports. The receiver has a connection button and a slot for a memory card or Rumble Pak. Obviously you won't be feeling any of those rumbles from across your living room, but at least the option is there for any games that require the Rumble function (like finding secrets in <em>Ocarina of Time</em>, etc).<br />
<br />
The Wireless Hypermode N64 controller is slated to arrive this summer for $30. A Genesis version and an NES / SNES hybrid version are panned for this fall at the same price.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-bit-wireless-hypermode-n64-controllers/">Retro-Bit Wireless Hypermode N64 controllers</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-bit-wireless-hypermode-n64-controllers/#5966790"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030432_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-bit-wireless-hypermode-n64-controllers/#5966791"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030433_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-bit-wireless-hypermode-n64-controllers/#5966792"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030434_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-bit-wireless-hypermode-n64-controllers/#5966793"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030436_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-bit-wireless-hypermode-n64-controllers/#5966794"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030437_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/15/retro-bits-wireless-n64-controllers-are-just-smashing/">Retro-Bit's wireless N64 controllers are just smashing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 15 Jun 2013 16:30:00 EST. Mad Catz's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/07/mad-catz-entering-android-console-market-with-project-m-o-j-o/">recently announced</a> Project MOJO Android micro-console (now just "MOJO") was on-hand at the hardware manufacturer's open-air booth in the middle of E3's West Hall. We learned a great deal more about the device's proprietary publishing ecosystem, or rather its lack of one.<br />
<br />
Unlike the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ouya">Ouya</a> or other Android micro-consoles announced this year, the MOJO runs stock Android and connects to the Google Play store like any smartphone or tablet. This means that, rather than waiting for a game to be ported to the MOJO, it just has be ported to Android in general. It also means that the MOJO is registered to your existing Google Play account as another device, so any games you already own on your smartphone or tablet can be downloaded and played on the MOJO.<br />
<br />
"We don't believe we should be restricting you, we want to be as open as possible," Mad Catz senior product development manager Richard Neville told us. "We just want to give people the most powerful hardware they can get, and that then becomes the enabler for the user."<br />
<br />
Said hardware, at least on the E3 showfloor, ran on a Tegra 3 processor and featured HDMI output at 1080p, as well as two USB inputs, 16 gigs of on-board storage expandable by mini SD, wireless b/n/g interwebs and both Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Smart. The MOJO's processor is expected to change before the micro-console launches this winter, however, when the production unit's specs are finalized around the end of this summer. We were also told that the final version will feature an Ethernet port for hard-wiring into a home network.<br />
<br />
No pricing has been announced as of yet, but the console will include a Mad Catz Ctrl-R wireless Bluetooth Classic/Smart controller, which can change between being an Android controller, mouse input or PC gamepad at the flick of a switch.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-mojo-android-micro-console-and-ctrl-r-wireless-gamepad/">Mad Catz MOJO Android Micro Console and CTRL-R Wireless Gamepad</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-mojo-android-micro-console-and-ctrl-r-wireless-gamepad/#5965740"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-project-mojo-000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-mojo-android-micro-console-and-ctrl-r-wireless-gamepad/#5965741"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-project-mojo-001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-mojo-android-micro-console-and-ctrl-r-wireless-gamepad/#5965742"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-project-mojo-002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-mojo-android-micro-console-and-ctrl-r-wireless-gamepad/#5965743"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-project-mojo-003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-mojo-android-micro-console-and-ctrl-r-wireless-gamepad/#5965744"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-project-mojo-004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/14/mad-catzs-android-console-now-just-mojo-pulls-games-straight/">Mad Catz's Android console now just 'MOJO,' pulls games straight from Google Play</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Jun 2013 21:00:00 EST. Mad Catz has a brand-spankin-new arcade stick to go along with Microsoft's brand-spankin-new Xbox One: the Tournament Edition 2 FightStick. At first glance, it may look like nothing more than a slightly flashier version of the existing models, but beyond the fact that it comes equipped with the same Sanwa Denshi parts, the TE2 is a whole new beast.<br />
<br />
The case opens on a hinge, to start with. Pressing the Mad Catz logo on the front of the unit releases a latch that grants access to the internals of the stick, which has been designed so that nearly every piece of the thing can be replaced or customized with the user's choice of buttons, micro-switches, LED mods or what-have-you. There's even compartments for extra buttons and an on-board screwdriver for removing the mounting bracket that holds the buttons and stick.<br />
<br />
We weren't allowed to photograph the inside of the stick as its design isn't finalized, but we're told the final version will also contain storage for spare joysticks and the TE2's detachable cable, which will be sold in varying lengths. What we did see, however, was the stock LED lighting effects under the buttons and on the side panels. The stick is also designed in such a way that the artwork can be replaced without having to remove the joystick or buttons.<br />
<br />
Mad Catz was unable to comment on whether replacement side panels will be sold, or if replacement plexiglass inserts will be available for people that prefer different button layouts. The Tournament Edition 2 FightStick will be available alongside the Xbox One at launch, though its price point has yet to be announced.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-tournament-edition-2-fightstick-xbox-one-e3-2013/">Mad Catz Tournament Edition 2 FightStick (Xbox One, E3-2013)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-tournament-edition-2-fightstick-xbox-one-e3-2013/#5965778"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/madcatz-fightstick-joystiq-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-tournament-edition-2-fightstick-xbox-one-e3-2013/#5965779"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/madcatz-fightstick-joystiq-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-tournament-edition-2-fightstick-xbox-one-e3-2013/#5965780"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/madcatz-fightstick-joystiq-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-tournament-edition-2-fightstick-xbox-one-e3-2013/#5965781"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/madcatz-fightstick-joystiq-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-tournament-edition-2-fightstick-xbox-one-e3-2013/#5965782"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/madcatz-fightstick-joystiq-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-arcade-fightstick-tournament-edition-2-for-xbox-one/">Mad Catz Arcade Fightstick Tournament Edition 2 for Xbox One</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-arcade-fightstick-tournament-edition-2-for-xbox-one/#5965726"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-fightstick-te2-001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-arcade-fightstick-tournament-edition-2-for-xbox-one/#5965727"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-fightstick-te2-002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-arcade-fightstick-tournament-edition-2-for-xbox-one/#5965729"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-fightstick-te2-003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mad-catz-arcade-fightstick-tournament-edition-2-for-xbox-one/#5965730"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/mad-catz-fightstick-te2-004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/14/mad-catz-tournament-edition-2-fightstick-for-xbox-one-is-customi/">Mad Catz Tournament Edition 2 FightStick for Xbox One is customizable, out this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Jun 2013 18:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/shadow-warrior"><em>Shadow Warrior</em></a> from <em>Hard Reset</em> developer Flying Wild Hog isn't a remake - it's a new game, with a new Lo Wang. For starters, Wang is able to use magic after he befriends a masked spirit.<br />
<br />
With magic, Wang can heal himself and attack his enemies from afar, throwing out blasts from his hands or his katana. His magic doesn't run out; there's no cool-down and it's not a mana system, Flying Wild Hog writer Pawel Kowalewski explained during a demo at E3. <a href="http://24.media.tumblr.com/5c8f32f7335e1fce619993a4c073d5e0/tumblr_mga12knvQ91r1k27eo1_500.gif">All magic comes with a price</a>, and when Wang uses it the surrounding demon enemies become enraged, faster and stronger. <br />
<br />
<em>Shadow Warrior</em> includes a few throwbacks to the original game, including secret caves in the old graphical style and bunny rabbits that hop around the forest and have their own AI to perform bunny-related acts. Wang's primary weapon is a katana, and the entire game can be won with just that weapon, Kowalewski said. It's also possible to dual-wield sub-machine guns, as in the first game.<br />
<br />
The team was quick to reassure that Wang himself is still "a douchebag," but not an outright <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/20/reinventing-shadow-warrior-for-the-modern-era/">Asian stereotype anymore</a>.<br />
<br />
"We understand why Lo Wang was awesome and you can still see him and go, 'Look at that douchebag,' without participating in putting a culture in a box. That was a huge priority when we were first thinking about how to frame the game and how to frame that character," writer Scott Alexander said. "You can play around with stuff; you can be funny, you can be crass, you can make him a jerk. He's got a real arc though."<br />
<br />
To those who may be disappointed: take solace in the fact that the violence in <em>Shadow Warrior </em>is absolutely ridiculous. By the end of one battle in the demo, a beautiful Japanese garden lay covered in severed limbs and pools of blood. "Maybe it's not funny, but it's not serious," is how Flying Wild Hog described<em> Shadow Warrior</em>'s violence.<br />
<br />
<em>Shadow Warrior</em> is due out in fall on PC, and Flying Wild Hog will wait for the dust to settle to decide on next-gen console releases.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/shadow-warrior-e3-2013/">Shadow Warrior (E3 2013)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/shadow-warrior-e3-2013/#5962791"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/sw1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/shadow-warrior-e3-2013/#5962792"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/sw2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/shadow-warrior-e3-2013/#5962793"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/sw3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/shadow-warrior-e3-2013/#5962794"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/sw4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/shadow-warrior-e3-2013/#5962795"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/sw5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/14/shadow-warriors-new-magic-system-twists-a-straight-shooter/">Shadow Warrior's new magic system twists a straight shooter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Jun 2013 06:00:00 EST. <br />
Earlier this week, we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/11/seen-e3-a-pair-of-mclaren-p1s/">posted a photograph</a> of two McLaren supercars. We mistakenly thought they were the McLaren P1, the car that Microsoft used to promote <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/forza-motorsport-5"><em>Forza Motorsport 5</em></a> during its <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/e3-2013">E3</a> press event. They were, in fact, McLaren MP4-12Cs. It was an egregious error, and for that we apologize.<br />
<br />
Imagine our surprise, though, when we spotted a genuine McLaren P1 at Microsoft's E3 booth today. To make up for our mistake, we took lots of pictures and a nice video. We showed it to Jordan Mallory, Joystiq's senior car enthusiast, and this time he died. Just straight-up died.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/seen-e3-a-mclaren-p1/">Seen@E3: A McLaren P1</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/seen-e3-a-mclaren-p1/#5960283"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030301_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/seen-e3-a-mclaren-p1/#5960284"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030302_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/seen-e3-a-mclaren-p1/#5960285"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030303_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/seen-e3-a-mclaren-p1/#5960286"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030304_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/seen-e3-a-mclaren-p1/#5960287"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030305_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/12/seen-e3-a-mclaren-p1-for-real-this-time/">Seen@E3: A McLaren P1 (for real this time)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Jun 2013 21:00:00 EST. <br />
Get the behind-closed-doors <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/event/e3-2013">E3</a> experience with these gameplay videos for <em>Call of Duty: Ghosts</em>. We say that, because if you go to check out the game at the show, these videos are what you're going to see. And you get to do it without the cacophony of show floor noise and with the luxury of doing it in your pajamas to boot. Lucky!<br />
<br />
Above is the underwater gameplay of "Into the Deep." If you've got any drowning issues, it's probably best to skip that one. After the break we've got next-gen dog attack technology in "No Man's Land," along with the 28-minute <em>Call of Duty: Ghosts</em> presentation from Sunday night.<br />
<br />
The only video exclusive to E3 at this time is "Federation Day," which finds a squad of soldiers infiltrating a building by rappelling down it and then attempting to escape as the skyscraper collapses, but that should be available sometime after the mega convention concludes.<br />

<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare"><em>Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare</em></a> is being planned for PC, producer Brian Lindley told Joystiq at E3. The third-person action game was announced for Xbox One and Xbox 360 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/10/ea-reveals-plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare/">at EA's E3 press conference</a> yesterday. Lindley said the game will launch in spring 2014, and that "at the moment we're not announcing any platforms." You know, outside of PC.<br />
<br />
<em>Garden Warfare</em> was announced with a demo of its four-player cooperative multiplayer action. Lindley confirmed that the game will include competitive multiplayer modes in which players can control zombie characters instead of plants. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-e3-2013/">Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (E3 2013)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-e3-2013/#5957116"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/pvzgwe3screens01wmv3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-e3-2013/#5957117"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/pvzgwe3screens02wmv3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-e3-2013/#5957119"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/pvzgwe3screens03wmv3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-e3-2013/#5957121"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/pvzgwe3screens04wmv3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/11/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-coming-in-spring-planned-for/">Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare coming in spring, planned for PC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Jun 2013 21:00:00 EST. We snagged some photos of the <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/@ps4">PlayStation 4</a> hardware and accessories at E3 2013. Just try to look at that console without thinking of "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxLacN2Dp6A">Also Sprach Zarathustra</a>." Also, try not to look too close - it's pointy.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-4-hardware-e3-2013/">PlayStation 4 hardware (E3 2013)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-4-hardware-e3-2013/#5957162"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030277_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-4-hardware-e3-2013/#5957163"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030278_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-4-hardware-e3-2013/#5957164"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030279_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-4-hardware-e3-2013/#5957165"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030283_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-4-hardware-e3-2013/#5957166"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/p1030284_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/11/drink-in-these-playstation-4-hardware-photos/">Drink in these PlayStation 4 hardware photos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Jun 2013 20:45:00 EST. Nintendo's booth showcases the company's friendly atmosphere, featuring whimsical statues and vehicles for photo opportunities. Princess Peach playing cuddly cat woman is adorable, but so are the super-sized Pikmin.<br />
<br />
Those looking for a photo memory can hop in a Mario Kart or take a non aquatic ride on the Wind Waker boat. Yes, we asked if the boat was seaworthy. It isn't.<br />

<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/deus-ex-human-revolution"><em>Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut</em></a> will launch on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC/Mac later this year, Square Enix announced in a press release. The touchscreen features seen in the <em>Director's Cut</em> version developed for the Wii U version will translate to Microsoft's SmartGlass app and the PlayStation Vita. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-directors-cut-e3-2013/">Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut (E3 2013)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-directors-cut-e3-2013/#5955473"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/dxhr-wiiu---screenshot-04-wlogo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-directors-cut-e3-2013/#5955474"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/dxhr-wiiu---screenshot-05-wlogo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-directors-cut-e3-2013/#5955475"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/dxhr-wiiu---screenshot-06-wcontroller-wlogo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-directors-cut-e3-2013/#5955476"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/dxhr-wiiu---screenshot-07-wlogo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-directors-cut-e3-2013/#5955477"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/dxhr-wiiu-city-street_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/11/deus-ex-directors-cut-coming-to-360-ps3-pc-mac-later-this-ye/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Deus Ex Director's Cut coming to 360, PS3, PC, Mac later this year</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/11/deus-ex-directors-cut-coming-to-360-ps3-pc-mac-later-this-ye/">Deus Ex Director's Cut coming to 360, PS3, PC, Mac later this year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Jun 2013 19:51:00 EST. Microsoft announced a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/10/new-xbox-360-costs-200-for-4gb-300-for-250gb/">newer, boxier model of the Xbox 360</a> during its press briefing at E3. We saw it out in the wild during a Microsoft event and snapped some photos. This just in: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/E3-2013/">E3 2013</a> starts tomorrow. Well, technically, tomorrow is what we affectionately call "Day Zero" - due to the slew of major media briefings we'll be attending.<br />
<br />
It's been nearly a decade since Microsoft and Sony brought new gear to E3, and nearly a decade since Joystiq started making the trek to the industry's most important North American event. How do we do it? (Apart from all the coffee and nanotechnological augmentations, that is.)<br />
<br />
Here's how the Joystiq crew is rolling in this year, including Jordan's tactical kit above and Mike Schramm's gear with the most up-to-date and hard-hitting (all in good fun) questions after the break.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/joystiq-e3-2013-the-gear/">Joystiq @ E3 2013: The Gear</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/joystiq-e3-2013-the-gear/#5945395"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/ludwig_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ludwig Kietzmann, Editor-in-chief: E3 Fight Clubbing, looking adorable while healing." title="Ludwig Kietzmann, Editor-in-chief: E3 Fight Clubbing, looking adorable while healing." /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/joystiq-e3-2013-the-gear/#5945389"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/alex_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Alexander Sliwinski, News Editor: Stealing scoops while you look at his pretty laptop." title="Alexander Sliwinski, News Editor: Stealing scoops while you look at his pretty laptop." /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/joystiq-e3-2013-the-gear/#5945390"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/e3gear_thumbnail.jpg" alt="David Hinkle, Associate Editor: Skyrim notebook contains locations for all the dragons." title="David Hinkle, Associate Editor: Skyrim notebook contains locations for all the dragons." /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/joystiq-e3-2013-the-gear/#5945391"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/e3-gear-schramm_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Mike Schramm, Contributing Editor: We don't have the heart to tell him..." title="Mike Schramm, Contributing Editor: We don't have the heart to tell him..." /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/joystiq-e3-2013-the-gear/#5945392"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/e3-gear-suszek_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Mike Suszek, Weekend Editor: Refused to sign a contract to subsidize his 32GB notepad." title="Mike Suszek, Weekend Editor: Refused to sign a contract to subsidize his 32GB notepad." /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/09/next-gen-essentials-joystiqs-e3-2013-gear/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Next-Gen Essentials: Joystiq's E3 2013 Gear</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/09/next-gen-essentials-joystiqs-e3-2013-gear/">Next-Gen Essentials: Joystiq's E3 2013 Gear</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 09 Jun 2013 14:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/iam8bit">iam8bit</a> gallery in Los Angeles premiered its latest video game-related art show last night, called the iam8bit Entertainment System. The centerpiece of the show was Travis Chen's homemade two-player console, which is a custom-made PC running MAME encased in natural bamboo, with two homemade controller boxes playing three different indie games: <em>Canabalt</em>'s two-player version, <a href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gutefabrik/sportsfriends-featuring-johann-sebastian-joust">the Sportsfriends bundle's</a> <em>BaraBariBall</em>, and Chen's own <a href="http://www.travischen.com/games/BADATTICUBE.html">Adventure Time game jam game</a>, <em>Bad Atticube</em>.<br />
<br />
Chen is a former Neversoft developer who now works on both iOS games with <a href="http://www.scopely.com/">Scopely</a> and his own indie creations, including the recent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/26/typing-karaoke-keeps-the-beat-with-your-fingertips/"><em>Typing Karaoke</em></a>. iam8bit pitched the new show to him as "being kind of like a mock release of a game console" (in the shadow of next week's E3 and its two new consoles), and Chen said he emailed iam8bit co-founder Jon Gibson to say, "Jon, I'm building the console."<br />
<br />
Chen's work is impressive: The "iES" wood case was laser-cut (though Chen says some sanding was needed to bring it all together), and the front of the console has an LED screen that shows various ASCII text. There are colored buttons on the top of the main unit, and pressing those changes whatever's shown on the screen, from crazy visualizers to a running dialogue between the console and its player.<br />
<br />
The console is being offered for sale in the gallery, and Chen says if it does sell he wants to customize it for the buyer. But if it doesn't sell, Chen has other plans in mind. "I want to enter it into Indiecade and maybe even the IGF," he says. "Not too many guys are entering hardware, and I think that's really interesting; the idea of indie hardware."<br />

<br />
NWay, a studio founded by Grand Theft Auto creator <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dave-jones">Dave Jones</a> and former <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/realtime-worlds">Realtime Worlds</a> president Tony Harman, is bringing a new action RPG called <a href="http://chronoblade.com/"><em>ChronoBlade</em></a> to browsers, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/ouya">Ouya</a>, iOS and Android. To throw another big name onto the pile, the game is being designed by Stieg Hedlund, the designer behind <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/diablo-ii"><em>Diablo 2</em></a>.<br />
<br />
<em>ChronoBlade</em> combines traditional loot-collecting action RPG concepts with 2D beat-em-up gameplay. The game takes place in a "multiverse" setting consisting of many different dimensions, allowing it to include styles ranging from medieval fantasy to steampunk.<br />
<br />
A demo should launch on Ouya next week, and an open beta of the browser version is expected to launch later this month. Check out a developer diary after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/06/diablo-2-designer-brings-chronoblade-to-browsers-ouya-ios-and/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Diablo 2 designer brings ChronoBlade to browsers, Ouya, iOS, Android</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/06/diablo-2-designer-brings-chronoblade-to-browsers-ouya-ios-and/">Diablo 2 designer brings ChronoBlade to browsers, Ouya, iOS, Android</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Jun 2013 19:10:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/lune"><em>Lune</em></a> is a simplistic game that gives the player control of the moon, pushing and pulling tides, altering gravity and lighting certain areas to reveal hidden objects. It doesn't rely on words to connect with its audience - but fortunately we do, and we can write down when its open alpha begins.<br />
<br />
<em>Lune</em> enters open alpha on June 9, in-browser and for free, through the game's <a href="http://lunegame.com/">website</a>. The final game is scheduled to launch this fall. It comes from a group of students participating in the French development contest <a href="http://www.lemonde.fr/hits-playtime/">Hits Playtime</a>, and the team would appreciate any feedback that benefits the gameplay.<br />
<br />
"We will listen carefully to everything the players have to say about this alpha of <em>Lune</em> and use it to craft a better experience come release date, not only because we believe that people deserve to see what they buy before the buy it, but also because we know that asking for money on Kickstarter is not the only way to let people contribute to a game world and therefore experience a closer connection to it," <em>Lune</em> Designer Sergey Mohov tells Joystiq.<br />
<br />
For a team that doesn't like to use words, that's very well said.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/lune-6-5-13/">Lune (6/5/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/lune-6-5-13/#5938110"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/lune-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/lune-6-5-13/#5938111"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/lune-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/lune-6-5-13/#5938113"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/lune-06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/lune-6-5-13/#5938112"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/lune-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/05/lune-open-alpha-begins-june-9-be-the-man-in-the-moon/">Lune open alpha begins June 9, be the man in the moon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 05 Jun 2013 18:30:00 EST. Showing up casually late to the marketing party, here's a trailer featuring the multiplayer modes in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-last-of-us">The Last of Us</a>. </em>They seem to draw from the same well of brutality and paranoia evident in the single-player game.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/04/first-look-at-the-last-of-us-multiplayer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>First look at The Last of Us multiplayer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/04/first-look-at-the-last-of-us-multiplayer/">First look at The Last of Us multiplayer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Jun 2013 17:45:00 EST. <br />
<em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/stick-it-to-the-man">Stick It To The Man</a></em> is a grungy, jazzy platform adventure game coming to PS3 and Vita this year, from Swedish developer Zoink!, publisher Ripstone, and written by Ryan North, author of the <em>Adventure Time</em> comic and creator of <em>Dinosaur Comics</em>.<br />
<br />
<em>Stick It To The Man</em> stars average-city-dude Ray, who lives in a world made of stickers and paper. After an accident, Ray wakes up with a "giant pink spaghetti arm sticking out of his brain" (just go with it) and finds he has the ability to peel off parts of his surroundings - and surrounding people - and he can read everyone's thoughts (seriously, just let it happen). He's then framed by The Man for a nasty crime, and he must use his new powers to traverse the city safely.<br />
<br />
Still on board? Good. <em>Stick It To The Man</em> will be out before the end of 2013, with a playable version at E3 next week.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/stick-it-to-the-man/">Stick It To The Man</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/stick-it-to-the-man/#5934648"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/stick-it-to-the-man-screenshot-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/stick-it-to-the-man/#5934649"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/stick-it-to-the-man-screenshot-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/stick-it-to-the-man/#5934651"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/stick-it-to-the-man-screenshot-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/stick-it-to-the-man/#5934652"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/stick-it-to-the-man-screenshot-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/stick-it-to-the-man/#5934653"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/stick-it-to-the-man-screenshot-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/04/stick-it-to-the-man-hits-ps3-vita-this-year-with-writing-by-rya/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Stick It To The Man hits PS3, Vita this year with writing by Ryan North</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/04/stick-it-to-the-man-hits-ps3-vita-this-year-with-writing-by-rya/">Stick It To The Man hits PS3, Vita this year with writing by Ryan North</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Jun 2013 15:00:00 EST. After regarding it a mere rumor <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/27/tales-of-symphonia-perfect-edition-rumor-refuted-by-series-prod/">just days ago</a>, series producer Hideo Baba announced an HD remake bundle of PS2 and GameCube RPG <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/tales-of-symphonia"><em>Tales of Symphonia</em></a> and its Wii sequel <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dawn-of-the-new-world/"><em>Dawn of the New World</em></a> at the Tales of Festival in Japan. The HD remake collection is expected to launch on October 10 in Japan and in early 2014 in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.<br />
<br />
Announced for PS3 only, the pack was revealed with the working title <em>Tales of Symphonia Chronicles</em>. That sounds much better than "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/13/rumor-tales-of-symphonia-dawn-of-new-world-to-get-ps3-hd-remak/">Perfect Edition</a>" to us.<br />

Razer has unveiled the 2013 models of its ongoing Blade series of high-performance gaming laptops. In addition to upgrading and renaming the existing 17-inch model to the "Razer Blade Pro," the peripheral/PC manufacturer has also introduced a new 14-inch variant. <a href="http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-blade">Pre-orders</a> for both rigs begin on June 3.<br />
<br />
Starting at $1,799.99, the 14-inch Blade is powered by a "future 4th-gen Intel Core" processor - otherwise known as a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Haswell/">Haswell</a> - eight gigs of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 765M. Its screen outputs at a resolution of 1600 x 900, and its data is stored on a SATA III SSD drive that comes in 128, 256 and 512 gigabyte flavors. Razer says the battery will last "up to six hours," and that its wireless interweb adaptor is "up to five times" faster than other wireless-N devices on the market.<br />
<br />
The new 17-inch Razer Blade Pro looks pretty much the same as last year's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/01/second-generation-razer-blade-upgrades-innards-lowers-price/">second-generation Razer Blade</a>, though its internal bits have been upgraded to the 14-inch model's hot new digs and its starting price has been lowered by $200, down to $2,300. The Pro also includes an Ethernet port and Razer's proprietary capacitive multitouch LCD display/trackpad, two features that have been omitted from the 14-inch Blade.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/razer-blade-14-inch/">Razer Blade (14-inch)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/razer-blade-14-inch/#5924555"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rzrblade1401crysis3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/razer-blade-14-inch/#5924556"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rzrblade1402metro_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/razer-blade-14-inch/#5924557"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rzrblade1403_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/razer-blade-14-inch/#5924558"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rzrblade1404_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/razer-blade-14-inch/#5924559"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rzrblade1405_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/30/razers-2013-line-of-blade-laptops-include-14-model-upgraded-i/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Razer's 2013 line of Blade laptops include 14" model, upgraded internals</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/30/razers-2013-line-of-blade-laptops-include-14-model-upgraded-i/">Razer's 2013 line of Blade laptops include 14" model, upgraded internals</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 May 2013 21:30:00 EST. And now the weather: PSN can expect <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/rain"><em>Rain</em></a> sometime this fall. The Sony Japan Studio game, reminiscent of <em>Ico</em>, sees you play as a boy who's only visible as a silhouette outlined by rain. He finds a girl like himself being chased by similarly invisible monsters, and the pair work together as they try to escape the perils of the night.<br />
<br />
With Sony Japan Studio forecasting <em>Rain</em> to arrive in a matter of months, it's no shock we'll be seeing more of the game in a couple of weeks time at E3.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rain-5-30-13/">Rain (5/30/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rain-5-30-13/#5919749"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rain-screenshotboy-sees-girl_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rain-5-30-13/#5919750"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rain-screenshotby-the-water_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rain-5-30-13/#5919751"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rain-screenshotchurch-backdrop_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rain-5-30-13/#5919752"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rain-screenshotcircus-backdrop_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rain-5-30-13/#5919753"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rain-screenshotcity-backdrop_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/30/rain-drops-onto-psn-this-fall/">Rain drops onto PSN this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 May 2013 07:30:00 EST. <em>Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate</em> is an upcoming retail and digital re-release on Xbox 360 and PS3 of last year's Team Ninja fighter, <em>Dead or Alive 5</em>. Ultimate includes modes and content from the PS Vita port <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dead-or-alive-5-plus">Dead or Alive 5 Plus</a></em>, like additional stages - some themed around <em>Ninja Gaiden</em> - and, of course, extra characters.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-or-alive-5-ultimate-5-24-13/">Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (5/24/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-or-alive-5-ultimate-5-24-13/#5907530"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/doa5ugroupbscreenshot01jackyenter_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-or-alive-5-ultimate-5-24-13/#5907531"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/doa5ugroupbscreenshot02jackywin_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-or-alive-5-ultimate-5-24-13/#5907532"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/doa5ugroupbscreenshot03jacky-vs-christie_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-or-alive-5-ultimate-5-24-13/#5907533"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/doa5ugroupbscreenshot04jacky-vs-christie_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dead-or-alive-5-ultimate-5-24-13/#5907534"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/doa5ugroupbscreenshot05jackysarah-vs-rig_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/25/see-ein-and-jacky-throw-down-in-dead-or-alive-5-ultimate/">See Ein and Jacky throw down in Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 25 May 2013 01:00:00 EST. Our pals Alexander and Ludwig are in Redmond right now for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-reveal/">Xbox reveal event</a>. They've totally stood next to the Xbox One and, having taken the less selfish path of lording it over the rest of the staff, decided to snap a few pictures for all you lovely folks. EA Sports lifted the curtains today on one of its core additions to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/madden-nfl-25"><em>Madden 25</em></a> this year, Connected Franchise owners mode. In it, players take on the role of team owner, setting prices for tickets and concessions as well as having the option to relocate teams to both domestic and international cities. Owners also handle the hiring of team personnel, such as scouts, trainers and coaches, and they answer questions from the media. Players will manage stadium upgrades and market their superstar athletes so fans will buy their jerseys, increasing their teams' yearly profit.<br />
<br />
The options to import draft classes from EA's NCAA Football series and take control of all 32 teams in the Connected Careers mode were woefully absent from last year's game, but will return to <em>Madden 25</em>. Additionally, the game's primary career mode will receive a face-lift thanks to an improved user interface that includes a transaction log to follow the movement of players from team to team. The mode's UI includes a new Trade Center, allowing users to see what other teams are offering for players and draft picks so they can top their opponents' bids.<br />
<br />
Lastly, <em>Madden 25</em> will feature more media personalities for the career mode's in-game Twitter feed, such as ESPN fantasy analyst Matthew Berry and Fox Sports NFL writer Peter Schrager. It will also receive new legendary players and coaches, including Mike Ditka and William "The Refrigerator" Perry. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/madden-nfl-25-connected-franchise/">Madden NFL 25 (Connected Franchise)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/madden-nfl-25-connected-franchise/#5894611"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/10.8.184.99-image5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/madden-nfl-25-connected-franchise/#5894612"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/10.8.184.99-image6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/madden-nfl-25-connected-franchise/#5894613"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/10.8.184.99-image7-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/madden-nfl-25-connected-franchise/#5894614"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/10.8.184.99-image8-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/madden-nfl-25-connected-franchise/#5894615"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/10.8.184.99-image9-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/20/relocate-your-team-in-madden-25s-franchise-owners-mode/">Relocate your team in Madden 25's franchise owners mode</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 May 2013 15:00:00 EST. The first Yakuza entry for a non-Sony console is <em>Yakuza 1 and 2 HD</em>. Nintendo announced the Wii U port in last week's Nintendo Direct. Going by this vid, the gangster classics are compatible with off-TV play. The HD combo roughs up Wii U in Japan on August 8. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/yakuza-1-and-2-hd-wii-u/">Yakuza 1 and 2 HD (Wii U)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/yakuza-1-and-2-hd-wii-u/#5893347"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/1-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/yakuza-1-and-2-hd-wii-u/#5893348"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/1-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/yakuza-1-and-2-hd-wii-u/#5893349"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/1-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/yakuza-1-and-2-hd-wii-u/#5893350"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/1-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/yakuza-1-and-2-hd-wii-u/#5893351"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/1-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/20/yakuza-1-and-2-hd-to-paint-the-wii-u-red-in-japan/">Yakuza 1 and 2 HD to paint the Wii U red in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 May 2013 10:30:00 EST. The upcoming console/PC iteration of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-revelations"><em>Resident Evil: Revelations</em></a> will include a trio of confusing new costumes for Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield and Keith Lumley, Capcom has <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2013/05/14/pirate-jill-and-chris-ninja-keith-costumes-unlockable-in-revelations">announced</a>. As can be seen in the gallery, Jill and Chris both sport equally leggy nautical-themed outfits, while Keith channels his inner <a href="http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Roronoa_Zoro">One Piece character</a> as a shirtless sword-guy in hammer pants.<br />

Costumes are unlocked by playing through the game's Campaign and Raid modes, in addition to "other unlocking mechanisms" that Capcom is keeping a secret. We're just hoping Capcom eventually rides this train of thought all the way to its logical extreme: Pretty Soldier Sailor Claire Redfield.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-revelations-new-costumes/">Resident Evil: Revelations (New costumes)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-revelations-new-costumes/#5889664"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/976924587353061285585720603118o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-revelations-new-costumes/#5889662"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/96490858813059787449856113012o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-revelations-new-costumes/#5889663"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/9198585873530712855841241595201o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/18/resident-evil-revelations-adds-pirate-jill-sailor-chris-ninja/">Resident Evil: Revelations adds Pirate Jill, Sailor Chris, Ninja Keith</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 May 2013 18:00:00 EST. <br />
EA recently provided us with a producer walkthrough video for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-sims-3">The Sims 3</a></em> Island Paradise DLC, an upcoming expansion pack for the game. The DLC takes players to the Isle Paradiso where, as seen in the video, they can cruise on houseboats from port to port.<br />
<br />
Players will also get to build their own resort on the island when the expansion launches June 28. Before that, however, <em>The Sims 3</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/11/khaleesi-sims-3-dragon-valley-is-available-may-30/">Dragon Valley</a> world will open on May 30. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-sims-3-island-paradise-5-16-13/">The Sims 3 - Island Paradise (5/16/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-sims-3-island-paradise-5-16-13/#5886538"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/ts3islandparadiseoriginexclusive1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-sims-3-island-paradise-5-16-13/#5886539"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/ts3islandparadiseoriginexclusive2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/18/sims-3-producers-guide-you-through-island-paradise-dlc/">Sims 3 producers guide you through Island Paradise DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 May 2013 12:00:00 EST. <br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/scurvy-scallywags"><em><span class="il">Scurvy</span><span> Scallywags</span></em></a>, the upcoming game from Ron Gilbert and DeathSpank co-creator Clayton Kauzlaric, is a little different from most match-three puzzlers. As we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/19/ron-gilberts-next-game-scurvy-scallywags-is-a-pirate-match-3/">learned in March</a>, players can influence the direction in which the board collapses after making a match. This, in turn, can move their character around the board and allow them to engage in combat with other characters.<br />
<br />
The concept is a bit difficult to put down on paper, so thankfully there's a new trailer! Take note of the end of the video, as we're fairly certain this is the first sea shanty in history to feature a theremin.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/scurvy-scallywags/">Scurvy Scallywags</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/scurvy-scallywags/#5888642"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/scurvyscallywags-ipad-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/scurvy-scallywags/#5888643"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/scurvyscallywags-ipad-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/scurvy-scallywags/#5888644"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/scurvyscallywags-ipad-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/scurvy-scallywags/#5888645"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/scurvyscallywags-ipad-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/scurvy-scallywags/#5888646"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/scurvyscallywags-ipad-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/17/ron-gilberts-scurvy-scallywags-gets-trailer-screens/">Ron Gilbert's Scurvy Scallywags gets trailer, screens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 May 2013 18:15:00 EST. "Shit gets really weird" in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fuse"><em>Fuse</em></a>. Not our words, but those of Overstrike 9's Dalton Brooks. Still, would be a great tagline for <em>Fuse</em>, or any game for that matter. Oh well, Insomniac's <em>Fuse</em> will have to make do without when it launches on May 28 for PS3 and Xbox 360. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fuse-launch/">Fuse (Launch)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fuse-launch/#5884728"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/fuse01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fuse-launch/#5884730"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/fuse02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fuse-launch/#5884731"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/fuse03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fuse-launch/#5884732"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/fuse04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fuse-launch/#5884733"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/fuse05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/fuse-ignites-launch-trailer-new-screens/">Fuse ignites launch trailer, new screens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 May 2013 12:30:00 EST.  <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/pacman-and-the-ghostly-adventures"><em>Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures</em></a> will launch this fall on PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360, with a special side-scrolling version coming to 3DS, Namco Bandai announced. The game takes inspiration from the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pac-Man_and_the_Ghostly_Adventures">TV show</a> of the same name, which is slated to begin airing June 17 on Disney XD.<br />
<br />
 <em>Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures</em> features the iconic yellow character in a 3D adventure game in which he turns into a chameleon at some point, using his tongue to reel in ghosts. In the game's announcement trailer, Pac-Man also eats entire vending machines. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/16/the-joystiq-indie-pitch-triple-town/"><em>Triple Town</em></a> developer Spry Fox has announced its next project, <a href="http://spryfox.com/2013/05/13/announcing-road-not-taken/"><em>Road Not Taken</em></a>. Like <em>Triple Town</em>, <em>Road Not Taken</em> is a puzzle game, though it looks like Spry Fox is trying something a little different this time, injecting the game with an interesting narrative structure and roguelike elements. Yes, it's a roguelike ... puzzle game.<br />
<br />
Inspired by the <a href="http://www.bartleby.com/119/1.html">Robert Frost poem</a> of the same name (minus "The"), <em>Road Not Taken</em> hopes to explore the idea of what happens when someone goes against the grain of society, wandering off the usual path. Spry Fox is touting a "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointillism">pointillist</a>" narrative. The idea is that, just as hundreds of tiny dots can <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:A_Sunday_on_La_Grande_Jatte,_Georges_Seurat,_1884.jpg">reveal a work of art</a> when viewed from a distance, multiple plays of <em>Road Not Taken</em> will begin to reveal "a greater theme."<br />
<br />
Yeah, it all sounds pretty hoity-toity, but hey, look at this adorable trailer and artwork!<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/road-not-taken/">Road Not Taken</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/road-not-taken/#5875195"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rntteaserimage1b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/road-not-taken/#5875196"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rntteaserimage2b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/road-not-taken/#5875197"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/rntteaserimage3b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />

If the paranoia weren't already palpable of young students raising their hands in history classes to correct their teachers about how Ezio dealt with the Borgia family, or how Connor handled Washington, now Assassin's Creed's marketing is passing itself off as "true stories." This'll end well.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/13/assassins-creed-4-black-flag-to-tell-true-pirate-stories-says/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag to tell true pirate stories, says trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/13/assassins-creed-4-black-flag-to-tell-true-pirate-stories-says/">Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag to tell true pirate stories, says trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 13 May 2013 12:00:00 EST.
