CBS beat a number of other networks in a bidding war to take on the Sony Pictures Television, Embassy Row, and Ryan Seacrest Productions project.<br /><br />Ryan Seacrest, Michael Davies, and RSP CEO Adam Sher are teaming up as executive producers on the project. The show has players and celebrities use their drawing skills to win money. Seacrest's website added that "viewers at home will also be able play along and compete with for prizes using phones and tablets, ushering in a new era in game show viewing."<br /><br />Seacrest is not anticipated to be the host of the show, according to <a href="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118055570">Variety</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/16/draw-something-game-show-pilot-coming-to-cbs/">Draw Something game show pilot coming to CBS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 16 Jun 2012 21:00:00 EST. We recently participated in a <span style="font-style: italic;">1 vs. 100 Live </span>episode, competing against players locally in San Francisco, as well as Los Angeles and Redmond, Washington. While we found the core of the game very similar to other video game "gameshows" (<span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/buzz">Buzz! Quiz TV</a> </span>for PS3 comes to mind), the <span style="font-style: italic;">live </span>presentation -- including the opportunity to win Microsoft Points and XBLA games -- is undeniably engaging and ambitious.<br /><br />Read on after the break to hear about our experience and to find out what to expect from the first "season" of the game that may very well <span style="font-style: italic;">eat your social life</span>.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/1-vs-100-xbl/">1 vs. 100 (Xbox Live)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/1-vs-100-xbl/#1537611"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/1vs100050609019_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/1-vs-100-xbl/#1537610"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/1vs100050609018_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/1-vs-100-xbl/#1537609"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/1vs100050609029_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/1-vs-100-xbl/#1537608"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/1vs100050609027_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/1-vs-100-xbl/#1537607"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/1vs100050609024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/06/joystiq-hands-on-1-vs-100-xbox-live-primetime/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Joystiq hands-on: 1 vs. 100 (Xbox Live Primetime)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/06/joystiq-hands-on-1-vs-100-xbox-live-primetime/">Joystiq hands-on: 1 vs. 100 (Xbox Live Primetime)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 May 2009 09:00:00 EST. The Sci-Fi Channel has partnered with Samsung and Granada America to hunt down the most well-rounded gamer in the United States as part of WCG GameQuest, a new "elimination-style" game show. Besides bragging rights (and sore thumbs), the winner of the "competition series" will also walk away with $100,000 and trips to attend future World Cyber Games events. <br /><br />However, to survive the eight-episode tournament, contestants will not only have to stand up to the rigors of gameplay, but also real-life "physical challenges." We hope to see the gaming elite vie for superiority by plunging head first <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Dare_2000#Double_Dare_2000">Double Dare</a>-style into pools of slime when WCG GameQuest hits the airwaves in the first quarter of 2009.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/29/new-sci-fi-gaming-show-takes-the-physical-challenge/">New Sci-Fi gaming show takes the physical challenge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 Oct 2008 17:45:00 EST. <br />One thing we've learned <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/23/ds-fanboy-review-arkanoid-ds/">while playing <span style="font-style: italic;">Arkanoid DS</span></a> -- it's difficult to break blocks and eat at the same time. The man in the video above seems to have it all figured out, though. While this still might not be as fun as playing with the imported <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/essential-extras-taitos-paddle-controller/">paddle</a>, at least you'll have an easier time multitasking. <br /><br />File this one under "another crazy video from Japan."<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=47512">GoNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/25/the-strangest-arkanoid-video-youll-ever-see/">The strangest Arkanoid video you'll ever see</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Jun 2008 21:00:00 EST. In an <a href="http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=17314">interview</a> with GameDaily BIZ, Moore talks about today's expected presentation of <em>GameShow</em>, which will be a "simple, free, fun experience" sports trivia game. There will also be streaming video and audio according to Moore. He says, "I think you'll find it an interesting departure from what we typically have at EA Sports with regard to how we have consumers compete with each other, but I think it checks every box of what sports fans are looking for."<br /><br />According to the <em>NY Times</em>, GameShow will initially be <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/05/arts/television/05game.htmldpc=&amp;_r=1&amp;adxnnl=1&amp;oref=slogin&amp;adxnnlx=1189008084-BJQrhrY6Z0+939X4REh3Nw">PC based</a>. While the video doesn't offer any new info on the game, it does provide plenty of in-game footage of the game's bloody carnage. The designer compares it to <em>Smash TV</em> and <em>Robotron</em>, but with a crazy alien 70s game show feel. Keep this one on your radar: it'll be a mere $30 when it launches in Q1 2007, and it'll feature 8-player online infrastructure play with stat-tracking.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/20/cash-money-chaos-video-interview/">Cash Money Chaos video interview</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 20 Aug 2006 13:30:00 EST. And like the original Elvis, you are <a href="http://www.ibiblio.org/elvis/alien.html">captured by aliens</a>, and are forced to participate in a "twisted 70s game show." No, you're not going to be playing <a href="http://www.cbs.com/daytime/price/"><em>The Price is Right</em></a>. You'll have to fight through dozens of enemies, killing everything in your sight. This "uber fast" shooter appears to play a bit like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2005/12/03/greatest-game-ever-hits-xbox-360-this-week/"><em>Robotron</em></a>, if it suddenly turned into <a href="http://www.cinematical.com/2005/09/04/robocop-man-of-letters/"><em>Robocop</em></a> instead: making people's bodies explode in buckets of blood. The game will come with more than 50 levels, and include online infrastructure play for up to 8 players.<br /><br />If you're interested in some really brutal cartoon violence, and want to kill ninjas, hillbillies, clowns, pirates, and aliens, then you'll have to wait a while: <em>Cash Money Chaos</em> is coming "early 2007." Check out the <a href="http://cashmoneychaos.com/">official website</a> to score some art and screenshots.<br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://www.shindakun.net/2006/08/09/soe-announces-cash-money-chaos/">steve</a>!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/09/cash-money-chaos-insanely-bloody-debut/">Cash Money Chaos' insanely bloody debut</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Aug 2006 10:10:00 EST.
