These pre-order perks sound suspiciously similar to those announced for Europe, but those were split into two packs; one with the soundtrack but without the pig, and the other with the pig but no tunes.

Game lists a pre-order holding price of £20 for the Xbox One, while Zavvi's pre-order down payment is £400. Zavvi also has a lineup of Xbox One games for £50, including Call of Duty: Ghosts and four EA Sports games.

The Novelist stars three characters: Dan Kaplan, a father attempting to finish writing the most important book of his career; Dan's wife and their young son - and you won't play as any of these people. Instead, players control an omniscient presence in the family's summer cabin, able to watch their daily lives, read their thoughts, enter their memories and influence their actions. The only catch is that the ghost must stay out of sight.

"It's up to you to decide how Dan's career and family life will evolve, but choose carefully; there are no easy answers, and every choice has a cost," The Novelist's description reads. "Dan's relationships - to his work, his wife and his son - react and shift in response to your choices. With a different sequence of events in every playthrough, The Novelist gives life to a unique experience each time you play.

"The decisions you make will define the Kaplans' lives, but they may also tell you something about yourself."

The Novelist is the brain child of Kent Hudson, who worked on AAA titles such as BioShock 2, Thief: Deadly Shadows, Deus Ex: Invisible War, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, and maybe even more games with subtitles. He left the mainstream industry in 2011, and has been working on The Novelist ever since. We hope he wasn't working all the time, though - all work and no play make Kent a dull boy.

The Novelist is due out on PC and Mac this summer, with pre-orders live now at a 25 percent discount ($15) via Hudson's site, with a Steam Greenlight page ready to roll.

For $36.99, buyers will receive a digital voucher for Class of Heroes 2 once it hits the PlayStation Network next month. A boxed physical version will be shipped to preorder customers an estimated 4-8 weeks after preorders close on May 8th.

Published in partnership with MonkeyPaw Games, Class of Heroes 2 is a first-person, Wizardry-like dungeon crawler with a focus on character customization. A Kickstarter project for a proposed deluxe edition didn't reach its funding goal, but a limited physical release entered production after meeting with a positive fan response.

"[Class of Heroes 2 is] not out of QA yet, but I'd imagine it should be up on PSN about the 3rd week in May, and the physical a few weeks after that," Gaijinworks founder Victor Ireland notes. "The QA is really just a formality because all that changed was a couple lines of text cleaned up and the opening removed until the rights situation is cleared."

Class of Heroes 2 was originally released in Japan in 2009. Since then, a number of sequel titles have debuted for platforms including the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS. To date, only the first PSP entry in the series has seen a North American release.

Pre-ordering Lost Planet 3 at GameStop will grant five "unique" multiplayer characters, a squad which includes gas mask-wearing soldier "Hunk" from any number of Resident Evil games. The player also receives some Rig (read: giant robot) upgrades, specifically a "tungsten carbide drill" hand and a big ol' "pressurized claw" for squeezing space bugs and (we assume) other, less interesting applications.

Lost Planet 3 arrives on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on Tuesday, August 27.

The soundtrack for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the 80s-styled futuristic shooter spinoff, is available for pre-order now on iTunes for $10, scheduled to release with the game on May 1. The soundtrack comes from Power Glove - the band, not the NES peripheral - an Australian duo that dabbles in retro, post-apocalyptic tunes.

Blood Dragon, when it drops on May 1, should look something like that walkthrough video embedded above. We played about an hour of it and thought it had the potential to "be less a bogus journey and more an excellent adventure."

Pre-ordering Sir, You Are Being Hunted nabs early access to the second round of testing before release, which is about a month after eligible Kickstarter backers start their early access rounds this summer. A pre-order picks up the game across PC, Mac and Linux, all DRM free.

Big Robot's Kickstarter campaign for Sir, You Are Being Hunted concluded in December, raising £92,551 of a requested £40,000. The extra cash unlocked a multiplayer component, scheduled to launch sometime after the full, single-player game. At £100,000, Big Robot would have locked in a character creation and customization mechanic - since the total fell short but close, the team will add some aspects of customization to the game.

Big Robot will bring a playable version of Sir, You Are Being Hunted to Rezzed 2013 in Birmingham, UK from June 22 - 23, for those in the area willing to break cover.

Spellirium is a mix of classic graphic adventure game Loom and word scrambler Boggle, and it's available for pre-order now on developer Untold Entertainment's site. Pre-ordering Spellirium grants instant access to the alpha version for PC or Mac, which is almost complete but is missing sound and some ending cut-scenes, as creator Ryan Henson Creighton explains in the above video.

Spellirium has classic point-and-click adventure mechanics, but the core gameplay involves swapping letter tiles in the Spell Caster to create relevant words, rather than standard item manipulation. The word-find game goes deeper than spotting full words on a grid, sometimes asking players to look in specific directions or colors to complete puzzles. Pre-orders will go toward the final push on Spellirium's development, with different tiers and rewards. It's a "Kickender," as Creighton describes it.

Creighton is the father of Cassandra Creighton, the 5-year-old mastermind behind Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure, 2011's breakout point-and-click oddity on the indie scene. Ryan Creighton has been developing games for 13 years for children's television shows in Toronto, but Spellirium is his first game for a broader public audience. He's trying to get it on Steam Greenlight, and it's due out "when it's finished."

As of this writing, developer Chucklefish hauled in $409,907 in its crowdfunding initiative. While the developer opted to use its official site instead of services such as Kickstarter or Indiegogo to host its tiered funding campaign, it still set stretch goals for the project. A new "novakid" race will be included in the game should pre-orders reach $500,000.

The game promises an endless number of procedurally-generated planets that encourage exploration from players. Starbound's site notes that much like a point-and-click adventure game, players can examine and catalog every item on the varying planets. Additionally, Starbound will feature cooperative and competitive multiplayer options.

Chucklefish was one of ten developers that earned a free Ouya dev kit in December 2012, though the game's site notes that Starbound only supports Windows, Mac and Linux at this time. Backers will receive a Steam key for the game when it launches sometime in 2013.

The updated version of Revelations hits Steam on May 20, but the more people that buy it before the launch date, the more goodies everyone can enjoy, with three reward tiers unlocked by pre-order numbers.

Tier one is already unlocked, meaning everyone who pre-orders on Steam will get an art book and 13-song soundtrack when the game launches. Next up is tier two, a free copy of 2007's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition that Capcom will distribute shortly after that pre-order goal is reached. Tier three promises "more weapons and more characters" for Raid mode, with four pieces of additional content to be revealed after the game's launch, all part of the Season Pass.

There's no word yet if these pre-order bonuses apply to console versions of Revelations as well.

Originally revealed for UK retailers last month, the Superman: Red Son pre-order bonus DLC for Injustice: Gods Among Us will be available exclusively at GameStop in North America. As shown in the trailer above, the DLC pack includes Red Son-inspired alternate costumes for Superman, Wonder Woman and Solomon Grundy (who wasn't in the Red Son comic storyline).

The pack also includes 20 extra missions set within the alternate Red Son universe, which is not to be confused with Injustice's also-alternate universe. It'll be interesting to see if Injustice's Red Son missions are actually set in an alternate version of Injustice's universe, making it an alternate, alternate universe. Alternate. Alternate. Now it just looks weird.

Available through Steam, the alpha will include four missions, a "limited subset of vehicles and weapons," two multiplayer maps, a Scenario Editor and mod support.

The size of the requisite cash stack varies depending on which version of the alpha you buy: A standard version for $33 or a Digital Deluxe Edition for $50. The Deluxe Edition features a soundtrack, "digital maps," a "tactical guide" and a Steam copy of Arma: Cold War Assault, all of which will become available when the full version of the game launches in Q3.

There will also be a $92 Supporter Edition available directly from the developer's online store, which includes all of the Deluxe Edition bonuses, as well as all future Arma 3 DLC and the "opportunity" to have your name in the credits, whatever that means.

All three versions include automatic access to the Arma 3 beta test slated to start in Q2, as well as a copy of the full game when it eventually comes out. Players who purchase access to the alpha can also invite their friends to participate in an even more limited "Lite" version of the test, which does not include multiplayer or modding support.

If you're anxious to look at some hardware, Sony released some press shots of the new DualShock 4 and PS4 Eye camera. What we do know about the PlayStation 4 so far is that it's heavily reliant on sharing and cloud-based technology, a result of the $380 million Gaikai purchase, and all PS4 games will feature remote play with the Vita.

The main $79.00 bundle includes the dongle-like console itself, as well as the controller it's stored inside of when not plugged into a television's HDMI port. The GameStick's wireless charging dock/port hub and protective case are both up for pre-order as well, priced at $24.99 and $9.99, respectively.

Delivery is expected to begin once an initial run of devices have been shipped to Kickstarter supporters, which is scheduled to take place during April. Currently, the website lists April 30 as the "available on" date for all three items.

As we first learned when the North American versions of this game were announced back in September, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is capable of sharing save files between the Wii U and 3DS, allowing for continuous progression across both platforms. Additionally, the 3DS version can be locally linked with the Wii U version for couch multiplayer fun times.

The glitch hit pre-orders for both PS3 and Xbox 360, predominantly online transactions.

It's a fixable problem; Best Buy asks anyone who pre-ordered to check their emails and call customer service if their order is canceled. Best Buy offers a $10 gift card to each affected customer, so make sure to ask for that if you run into the problem. After your heart settles back into a normal rhythm and you stop screaming about how you'll miss all the sweet Sky-Hook action this March, of course.
