The publisher apologized to fans -- not for the restriction, but for not making the fact that there was a restriction clearer. <br />
<br />
"Typically, the notification for a required PlayStation Network connection appears in the full game description when a game is downloaded from the PlayStation Store," the statement reads. "Unfortunately when populating this content this detail was overlooked and wasn't included in the versions of the game that released in North America and Asia."<br />
<br />
Capcom has "acted quickly with Sony Computer Entertainment America" and ensures fans that it will be addressed. Before you start pooling your money with your PSN-sharing friends, we have our own warning: given the context of the statement, the promised fix is more likely to be the addition of a warning than the removal of the DRM. You can read the full statement after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/capcom-apologizes-for-unannounced-final-fight-double-impact-drm/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom apologizes for unannounced Final Fight: Double Impact DRM</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/capcom-apologizes-for-unannounced-final-fight-double-impact-drm/">Capcom apologizes for unannounced Final Fight: Double Impact DRM</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Apr 2010 17:40:00 EST. IGN forum user "Nacthenud" has posted an alleged <a href="http://boards.ign.com/ps3_general_board/b8267/191330467/p1/">response</a> he received from a Capcom admin about the issue.<br />
<br />
"Yes, there is DRM," the admin confirmed. "This was employed to combat the rampant 'PSN Sharing' that has been going on over the last year. We're sorry that your family cannot play the game on their individual accounts (same console). This is a limitation of the Sony network." The message goes on to say that <em>Double Impact's</em> DRM is a trial to "evaluate impact" of the PSN sign-in requirement, which seeks to limit access to the game to the PSN account that purchased the title.<br />
<br />
Since the statement was posted, Nacthenud and others have <a href="http://boards.ign.com/ps3_general_board/b8267/191330467/p2">discovered</a> an apparent workaround. They suggest it's possible to play the game using secondary accounts on a PS3, provided the account used to purchase <em>Double Impact</em> is set to automatically sign into PSN when the console turns on. But that's ancillary to the intended purpose of the DRM: to prevent users on other PS3s from playing the game (and thereby rendering the game unplayable offline).<br />
<br />
We've asked Capcom for verification, but have yet to hear back.<br />
<br />

The game will not run unless the user is signed into an online PSN account. If you try to load up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fight-double-impact"><em>Double Impact</em></a> while not signed in, you'll just get a curt "Sign into PlayStation Network. (80029516)" message on the screen. (The Xbox 360 version launches without issue, even when not signed into Xbox Live.)<br />
<br />
While it may not be a big deal to most of us who are signed into PSN whenever we use our PS3s, it does make us wonder why Capcom or Sony don't allow people to play the game, even in single-player or local multiplayer, without an internet connection. We've contacted both parties about the issue. Anyone else appreciating the irony of having to be connected to the internet to play games made before most of us knew what an internet was?<br />

<em>Final Fight: Double Impact</em> is the highlight of this week's PSN update -- especially if you're a <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2010/04/14/x3f-tv-xbla-in-brief-final-fight-double-impact/"><em>Magic Sword</em> fanboy</a>. Those interested in test drives can take the <em>Skate 3 </em>demo out for an ollie, while the latest <em>Sam &amp; Max</em> adventure game is also available to try.<br />
<br />
As has become normal, there's an impressive new helping of comics for the PSP. This latest update adds the first eight issues of <em>Kick-Ass</em>, which has, as they stamp on the covers of those rectangular objects known as books nowadays, become "a major motion picture."<br />
<br />

<em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/final-fight-double-impact">Final Fight: Double Impact</a></em> hits download services this week, with the side-scrolling fantasy action game <em>Magic Sword</em> as the delicious second course in the <em>Final Fight</em> meal. Lest you be <em>satisfied</em> with those two games, Capcom design director Kraig Kujawa <a href="http://twitter.com/CapKraig/statuses/12011049274">revealed</a> two more games that were considered for the pack: the 1987 action game <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Tiger_(video_game)">Black Tiger</a></em>, and the horizontal shmup <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forgotten_Worlds">Forgotten Worlds</a></em>.<br />
<br />
In the tweet, Kujawa said these two were the "other games ... considered for <em>Final Fight: Double Impact</em> second billing," suggesting that the plan was for two total games all along. That means that we don't have to cry as we imagine the four-game pack <em>Double Impact </em>that almost was, and instead we can concentrate on our delight with <em>Magic Sword.</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/12/final-fight-double-impact-almost-included-black-tiger-or-forgot/">Final Fight: Double Impact almost included Black Tiger or Forgotten Worlds</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 Apr 2010 13:00:00 EST. <br />
Packed within that powerup distribution vessel is an arcade token with images from both <em>Final Fight</em> and <em>Magic Sword</em>, a copy of the soundtrack on cassette(!), "Ninja vs. Bear" and "Haggar for Mayor" badges, a reversible t-shirt with one of the two games on each side, and a can of pink hair color spray, in honor of <em>Final Fight</em>'s Poison.<br />
<br />
Non-press members will have an opportunity to get one of these from Capcom's <a href="http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcomus/DisplayHomePage?resid=S75KnQoBAkYAAHKc3r8AAAAO&amp;rests=1270762140521">online store</a>, but you'll have to be vigilant! Microsoft has unfurled some of its <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/archive/2010/04/06/ws186.aspx">plans</a> for Xbox Live downloadable content for April, including new additions to Games on Demand and Deals of the Week, as well as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/finally-final-fight-double-impact-arrives-april-14-and-15/">April 14th</a> release of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fight-double-impact">Final Fight: Double Impact</a>.</em><br />
<br />
On top of that, look for a half-priced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-maw"><em>The Maw</em></a> on the week of April 12 and two add-ons for <em>Mega Man 10</em> this week: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/01/wiiware-mega-man-10-gets-dlc-bass-character-on-april-5/">Bass</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/mega-man-10-special-stages-bring-back-obscure-bosses/">Special Stage 1</a>. Head past the break for the full list.<br />

Capcom just let us know that the magical combination of classic brawling and online play will be available on Xbox Live April 14, and on the PlayStation Store April 15.<br />
<br />
In case you haven't been keeping up with old game news, Double Impact features optional graphical filters, remixed soundtracks, and, most importantly, drop-in co-op. Capcom doesn't explicitly mention this, but each purchase also contributes to the Mike Haggar mayoral campaign fund. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fight-double-impact/">Final Fight: Double Impact</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fight-double-impact/#2493666"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/1a5ac04ef998238339df8da8273069e5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fight-double-impact/#2493667"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/3b317f55b7327a8a314b025c643e38aa_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fight-double-impact/#2493668"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/85b1d64365df7470d5e160fac1c071c0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fight-double-impact/#2493669"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/478be7328bd472a7923084eb43620aed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fight-double-impact/#2493671"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/b1b9d201d0cf97c387cae8aa3e42751a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/finally-final-fight-double-impact-arrives-april-14-and-15/">Finally: Final Fight Double Impact arrives April 14 and 15</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Mar 2010 12:35:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/">Capcom</a> has <a href="http://capcom.gamespress.com/release.asp?i=170">announced</a> that the <em>Final Fight</em> / <em>Magic Sword</em> combo pack known as <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/final-fight-double-impact"><em>Final Fight: Double Impact</em></a> will hit <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/xbla">Xbox Live Arcade</a> and the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/psn">PlayStation Network</a> in April 2010. In addition to the previously announced graphical filters, viewing modes and drop-in / drop-out co-op, Capcom has also revealed that both games will feature a selectable soundtrack from the people responsible for the excellent <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed"><em>Bionic Commando: Rearmed</em></a> <a href="https://www.sumthingdigital.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?albumid=3664">soundtrack</a>. Furthermore, the games will utilize <a href="http://ggpo.net/">GGPO</a>, a networking library used to essentially eliminate lag during online play.<br />
<br />
Oh, it also includes both <em>Final Fight</em> <em>and</em> <em>Magic Sword</em>.<br />

Capcom has announced <em>Final Fight Double Impact</em> for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, featuring not just the arcade version of the Metro City brawler, but <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Sword"><em>Magic Sword</em></a> as well!<br />
<br />
<em>Final Fight Double Impact</em>, as the collection is titled, will feature optional graphical filters and a visual mode that makes the games appear as if they're being played on an arcade machine. Most importantly, both games will have drop-in online co-op. Capcom hasn't priced the collection yet, but there's no way the company will charge more than we've already put into <em>Magic Sword</em> machines over the years.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/25/oh-my-car-capcom-porting-final-fight-and-magic-sword-to-xbla-a/">Oh, my car! Capcom is just on a roll with these soundtrack releases lately. Yesterday we got both <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/26/resident-evil-5-soundtrack-available-today/"><em>Resident Evil 5</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/27/2-disc-street-fighter-iv-ost-on-sale-now-for-10/"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a> and now the publisher has <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/robbyz/blog/2009/05/27/flock_soundtrack_released_free_download">released</a> the <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/flock">Flock</a> </em>soundtrack. It's like the company has gone completely baaaalistic. Don't feel too sheepish about downloading it either. At 46MB, it's not very ewemongous. Even better is its shear lack of cost. That's right, it's udderly free, and you can't bleat that.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/28/ewe-can-download-the-flock-soundtrack-for-free/">Ewe can download the Flock soundtrack for free</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 May 2009 01:00:00 EST. Gamers who have sheepishly avoided action-puzzler <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/flock">Flock</a></em> can toss the 1200<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($15) fiscal requirement off the cliffs at Dover, now that the game is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Flock-Online-Game-Code-Xbox-360/dp/B0021L8MFG/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1240409344&amp;sr=8-13">$10 on Amazon</a>. We can't lambast such a good deal. Ewe owe it to yourself to check it out -- because at $10, you're not being fleeced.<br />

The good news: <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/flock">Flock</a> </em>and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/puzzle-quest-galactrix"><em>Puzzle Quest: Galactrix</em></a> are both headed to Xbox Live Arcade this week. The bad news: They will cost you not only an arm, but also a leg to obtain. <em>Flock </em>clocks in at 1200<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />, while <em>Galactrix </em>will set you back two <a href="http://www.hulu.com/watch/1397/saturday-night-live-snl-digital-short-lazy-sunday#s-p1-sa-i1">Hamiltons</a> (aka 1600<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />). If you can live without a couple appendages -- what with computers doing everything these days, you probably can -- you can enjoy the space-faring successor to <em>Puzzle Quest</em> and ... erm ... a UFO-enabled herding sim. Herding is more fun than it sounds, <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2008/10/23/ps3-fanboy-hands-on-flock/">trust us</a>.<br />

Capcom isn't saying exactly how to get at the chartreuse brawler. However, we imagine it won't be a secret for long once <em>Flock</em> abducts our free time <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/03/25/lock-up-your-sheep-flock-arrives-april-9/">this week</a> over Steam on April 7, XBLA on April 8 and finally PlayStation Network on April 9.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/06/blanka-makes-a-cameo-in-flock/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Blanka makes a cameo in Flock</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/06/blanka-makes-a-cameo-in-flock/">Blanka makes a cameo in Flock</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Apr 2009 10:05:00 EST. <div align="left"><em>Flock</em>'s PSN release date has finally been <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/robbyz/blog/2009/03/24/flock_pc_demo_out__steam_10_off__psn_release_dates">confirmed</a>. The game will be out the same week as its PC and Xbox 360 counterparts, although, thanks to Sony's Thursday update policy, it will be lagging a day or two behind. PS3 owners can look forward to chasing sheep, flattening crops and tipping cows on April 9th. We've been looking forward to this game ever since we first <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/joystiq-e3-hands-on-flock/#continued">saw it at E3</a> last year, so we're very glad to get our hands on it soon.</div>

It focuses on the different seasons found in the game, but also shows us one of the game's power-ups in use, as well as the environmental interaction we've come to anticipate from the title. It's enough to get us through another overcast day.<br />

Xbox Live figurehead Major Nelson recently updated his blog with the titillating <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/03/05/the-days-of-arcade-are-coming.aspx">announcement</a> of a six-week long promotion titled the "Days of Arcade." Similar to last year's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/26/summer-of-arcade-behind-xblas-best-month-yet/">"Summer of Arcade" event</a>, the promotion will kick off March 18 with the release of <em>Hasbro Family Game Night</em>, with the following five weeks bringing a number of highly anticipated titles to the Marketplace, including <em>The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai</em>, <em>Flock</em>, <em>Outrun Online Arcade</em>, <em>Puzzle Quest: Galactrix</em>, <em>UNO Rush</em> and Tozai Games' remake of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/21/gc-2008-lode-runner-xbla-remake-coming-soon/"><em>Lode Runner</em></a>.<br />
<br />
Aside from <em>Game Night</em>, we won't know which games are coming which weeks until Major Nelson announces them on the Mondays preceeding their Wednesday releases. However, as the keen-eyed mathmaticians among you have already noticed, with seven titles dropping in six weeks, one <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbla">XBLA Wednesday</a> will bring us a double dose of downloadable distractions. We've already canceled our Spring Break excursion to Cabo San Lucas in a fit of breathless anticipation.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/05/days-of-arcade-promotion-coming-to-xbla-march-18-lode-runner-s/">Days of Arcade promotion coming to XBLA March 18; Lode Runner, six other titles coming soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Mar 2009 12:35:00 EST. That's a little later than its targeted <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/26/psn-xbla-pc-puzzler-flock-wool-be-out-in-january/">January release</a>, but who are we to hold a grudge?<br />
<br />
<a href="http://ps3.ign.com/articles/956/956710p1.html">IGN</a> reports that <em>Flock </em>will release on PC on April 7, then roll out to XBLA on April 8, and will debut on PSN Thursday, April 9. No word on the title's pricing, but with the current economy and <a href="http://www.weeklytimesnow.com.au/article/2009/02/25/56695_wool.html">wool prices continuing to drop</a>, we think it's in Capcom's best interest to offer it at a value-price.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/24/flock-to-probe-sheep-in-april-on-pc-psn-and-xbla/">Flock to probe sheep in April on PC, PSN and XBLA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Feb 2009 20:50:00 EST. Yes, it's as adorable as you'd expect. Just in case you've forgotten they also take the time to reiterate that the game will feature over 55 levels, 2-player co-op, a level editor, trophies and custom soundtracks. Hopefully we'll be seeing the game release pretty soon.<br />

With the excitement that is CES, Capcom felt the need to show off more of their upcoming (think <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/05/capcom-reveals-q1-releases-for-europe/">February</a>) Xbox Live Arcade release <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/flock"><em>Flock</em></a>. And how glad we are they did.<br />
<br />
Galleried below are twenty-five new <em>Flock </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/flock-xbla/1271482/full/">screenshots</a> that show off some icy new terrain as well as a homemade crop circle or two. Speaking of crop circles, the latest <em>Flock </em>trailer (above) not only shows how fun it is to make them, but how their creation helps the sheep herding process. We'll admit, this game looks too fun.<br />

<strong>Update</strong>: Added Capcom's North American information after the break.<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Update 2:</span> <span style="font-style: italic;">Bionic Commando</span> will not be hitting Europe in March. <p>For those that you haven't jumped into PS3's video magazine, <em>Qore</em>, you'll have your chance this week. Episode 7 will be available on the PlayStation Store this Thursday -- and best of all, it'll be free. This month's issue will focus on <em>Skate 2</em> (read our preview <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/01/joystiq-hands-on-skate-2/">here</a>) and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/flock"><em>Flock</em></a>. A <em>Killzone 2</em> theme will also be included with the issue.<br />
<br />
We're wondering if subscribers will get an extra issue appended to their purchase, considering this issue is free for all. If not, annual subscribers can at least celebrate their exclusive access to a <em>Flock</em> demo.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/03/qore-episode-7-is-free/">Qore Episode 7 is free</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 03 Dec 2008 13:49:00 EST. Though much of his <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/11/25/street-fighter-hd-%E2%80%93-it%E2%80%99s-finally-here/">PlayStation Blog</a> post is spent ram-bling about Tuesday's PSN release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/25/psn-tuesday-street-fighter-ii-hd-excellent-psn-titles-now-5/"><em>Street Fighter II Turbo Something Something HD</em></a>, John Diamonon sneaks in a quick release window for Capcom's forthcoming downloadable puzzler, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/flock"><em>Flock</em></a>. Baah-ring any unforeseen delays, it seems the shear excitement will commence in January -- a good way to avoid the holiday rush, which is usually mutton but trouble for low-profile titles.<br />
<br />
We're sure to have herd more by the time the game releases on XBLA, PSN and PC, but for now, ewe would be right in grazing an important question: How much will it cost? Unless Capcom wishes to avoid a proper lambasting, players are almost certain to get it on the sheep.<br />

Capcom's digital offerings have been largely hit-or-miss. The wide variety of games they've made available on the PlayStation Network shows how aggressively they've been pursuing digital distribution, and their catalog is easily the most prolific and diverse of any publisher out there. Their upcoming <em>Flock</em>, ready for PSN in December, looks to be their best and most accessible game yet.<br />
<br />
<em>Flock</em> may not have the biggest buzz around it, and that's a shame. It's a ton of fun, and comes from veteran designers of another quirky video gaming icon: <em>Lemmings</em>. Their upcoming PSN game features the same charm and addictive quality of <em>Lemmings</em>, but adds an incredible amount of current-gen polish. The visuals are surprisingly good, with the character models all lovingly animated, and the texture work incredibly detailed.<br />
<br />
The production values go far beyond most of Capcom's other digital offerings. But beyond the impressive tech lies a heartwarming game that aims to please casual and hardcore gamers alike. The premise of the game is rather cute: you play as a UFO trying to sweep various animals into the mothership, Noah's Ark style. Levels feature a number of puzzles and hazards that dare to get in your way. For example, there may be piles of feces lying on the ground -- should one of your pigs roll into it, he'll stay there, dancing in and eating the poo. Disgusting? Yes. Cute? Yes. But, it also slows down your completion time.<br />

After reading yesterday's news regarding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/flock"><em>Flock</em></a> developer Proper Games and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/12/flock-developer-worried-about-xbla-layout-delisting-not-the-on/">what they think</a> about the Xbox Live Arcade's current state, we've been on the look out for new sheepy <em>Flock </em>media. And wouldn't you know, some newish <a href="http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/20733"><em>Flock </em>gameplay</a> was recently(ish) released. How odd! Watch the embedded video for XBLA game <em>Flock </em>and be in awe of its chain reaction-like physics, pretty water and fluffy fluffed sheep launching game mechanics. Knock those sheep around!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/13/video-a-sheepy-flock-chain-reaction/">Video: A sheepy Flock chain reaction</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Aug 2008 14:30:00 EST. And even though they're in favor of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/22/ms-confirms-no-spring-update-a-drm-fix-and-an-xbla-restructurin/">delisting</a> under-performing XBLA titles, they don't think it's the only answer to the problem.<br />
<br />
"Flat-out delisting perhaps isn't the solution" Proper Games CEO Paddy Sinclair told <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/proper-games-xbla-needs-proper-categorisation">Gamesindustry.biz</a>, adding that "I'd also like to see a way of properly categorising games - what's the most-downloaded game at the moment? What's been most bought?" Sinclair then echoed their and many other developers' fears of being lost in the XBLA mix, admitting that <em>Flock!</em> "could just get lost in the morass of arcade conversions" with how the current system is setup. Hopefully, the massive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fall-update">Fall update</a> and a newly re-structured XBLA will solve Proper Games' and our own problems we have with the XBLA. Do it for the sheep, Microsoft, do it for the sheep.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/12/flock-developer-worried-about-xbla-layout-delisting-not-the-on/">Flock! developer worried about XBLA layout, delisting not the only answer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Aug 2008 14:45:00 EST. In a nutshell, <em>Flock</em> is an evolved form of <em>Lemmings</em>: Using your ship and it's various beams, you guide sheep, chicken, cows and pigs past obstacles and into the Mother Flocker (be careful about slurring that name). The game will also feature co-op and a map editor. Although we weren't able to see either feature in action, Capcom's Kraig Kujawa told us their goal is to implement cross-console map sharing.<br />

The roster contains the usual subjects - <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando"><em>Bionic Commando</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil-5"><em>Resident Evil 5</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a> - but, as we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/12/preliminary-e3-list-teases-two-new-capcom-games-alan-wake-still/">reported last month</a>, the company will have a couple of surprises in store for attendees.<br />
<br />
We now know that one of them is titled <em>Flock</em>, and is, as described by Capcom, a "new super-secret project." Well, it's not <em>that</em> secret if we know its name. Still, it's an odd name ... one that conjures up concepts such as social networking or file sharing, not games. We'd normally say it's a working title, but Capcom's update doesn't list it as such.<br />
<br />
Its most recent E3 lineup also includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mega-man-9"><em>Mega Man 9</em></a> and the previously unveiled <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/spyborgs"><em>Spyborgs</em></a>. Neither were on the earlier list, so either could be the second "Capcom Project #2" it teased. Or, if you're really into conspiracy theories, <em>neither</em> is, and there's still one secret to be revealed. We like surprises, so we're pinning our hopes on that being the case.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/08/flock-revealed-as-one-of-capcoms-mystery-e3-titles/">'Flock' revealed as one of Capcom's mystery E3 titles</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Jul 2008 23:30:00 EST.
