Now though, since Zipper Interactive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/30/sony-confirms-zipper-interactive-closure/">doesn't exist anymore</a> and everything, the servers for four PS2 SOCOM games and four PSP SOCOM titles will be taken offline at the end of August.<br /><br />PlayStation 2 SOCOMs<i> I, II, </i>and<i> III</i> (as well as <em>SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault</em>) will be going dark, as will the PSP various SOCOM titles, <em>Fireteam Bravo</em> (<em>I</em>, <em>II</em> and <em>III</em>) and <em>SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strke</em>.<br /><br />If this outage affects your regular gaming routine, we offer our most sincere condolences. Also, we'd like to point out that many thousands of games have been released since 2002, some of which you might enjoy. Perhaps this will be a good opportunity to go check some of 'em out? <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/ps2-and-psp-socom-servers-shutting-down-at-the-end-of-august/">PS2 and PSP SOCOM servers shutting down at the end of August</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 23:59:00 EST. How likely? <em>Pretty freakin' likely</em>, especially considering the recently discovered group of domain registrations from Sony Computer Entertainment of America tied to URLs like "PlaystationAllStarsVita.com," "PS-AllStarsVita.com," and "PSAllStarsBattleRoyaleVita.com."<br /><br />As with so many of these discoveries, <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/supererogatory">Superannuation</a> spotted the URLs - URLs that pretty clearly identify a Vita-based version of the brawler. We'll be saying this a lot this week, so get used to it: we've reached out to Sony for more info, but only got "we don't comment on rumor or speculation" in return. We expect more info next week during E3.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/smattering-of-playstation-all-stars-battle-royale-vita-domains-r/">Smattering of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Vita domains registered by Sony</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 May 2012 15:00:00 EST. According to the patent, ads would be preceded by a warning and a slowdown of gameplay, with another warning displayed when gameplay is about to resume. <br /><br />The mere filing of a patent is no indication that this will be implemented, simply that the idea came up. Now, while we primarily work as journalists, we consider ourselves reasonably industry-savvy, and can thus be trusted to provide game industry analysis, pro-bono, in an advisory capacity.<br /><br />It is to that end we present the following advice to Sony: <h2> <u>DON'T DO THIS</u></h2><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/scea-patents-advertising-that-interrupts-gameplay/">SCEA patents advertising that interrupts gameplay</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 May 2012 19:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/pub/robert-krekel/5/b91/56a">LinkedIn profile</a> of Robert Krekel - a sound designer at Sony Computer Entertainment America - suggests <em>PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale</em> may be coming to PlayStation Vita as well.<br /><br />Krekel lists <em>PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale</em> as his current project, on both PlayStation 3 and Vita. We've inquired with Sony and will update if we hear more -- but as you might expect, this falls firmly in the "rumors and speculation" category.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/22/rumor-playstation-all-stars-coming-to-ps-vita-scea-resume-says/">Rumor: PlayStation All-Stars coming to PS Vita, SCEA resume says</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 May 2012 23:25:00 EST. Naughty Dog's latest game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-last-of-us"><em>The Last of Us</em></a>, aims to leverage the studio's sophisticated technology and credible presentation to forge a more intense connection between players and their on-screen avatars. Speaking with <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/169358/Lemarchand_leaves_Naughty_Dog_to_teach_at_USC.php">Gamasutra</a>, Lemarchand said he's leaving his current job (of eight years) at Naughty Dog - creators of Crash Bandicoot, Uncharted, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-last-of-us"><em>The Last of Us</em></a> - in order to take on new challenges at the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California.<br /><br />"In other words, I'll be surrounded by awesome people, talking craft and philosophy, and building strange new things," Lemarchand said of his new role as professor at the Interactive Media Division at UC. "It seems like a natural transition point," he added. "I was involved with the development of the Uncharted series not quite from the beginning, but almost ... and even though the Uncharted series isn't intended to be viewed as a trilogy, maybe there's something about the number three that felt ... there is a certain amount of completeness for me."<br /><br />But when will the next transition happen, from daring professor to daring professor <em>slash</em> extreme archaeologist? Sooner than we imagined, it seems. Lemarchand's first order of business is a three-month backpacking excursion that'll take him around the globe. After that, he'll begin work on a "series of experiment games," aimed at exploring "procedural narrative," among other things. After that, we're hoping he takes on the Nazis in their own zeppelin.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/30/uncharted-lead-lemarchand-exits-naughty-dog-to-become-more-like/">Uncharted lead Lemarchand exits Naughty Dog to become more like Indiana Jones</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Apr 2012 12:15:00 EST. In the case of <em>Resistance: The Trilogy</em>, well, apparently <a href="http://www.amazon.fr/Sony-Resistance-Trilogy-platinum/dp/B007PB2Y10/ref=sr_1_318?s=videogames&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1333391812&amp;sr=1-318">Amazon France</a> isn't too concerned. A listing - one that's still live as of this writing - for just such a game popped up on Amazon France, spotted by UK site <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/345096/amazon-outs-resistance-trilogy/?cid=OTC-RSS&amp;attr=CVG-General-RSS">CVG</a>.<br /><br />The listing puts a May 16 launch date and a &euro;59.99 ($79.99) price tag on the unannounced bundle, which we're guessing means a May 15 launch here in North America (and a likely $59.99 pricing). You've probably already guessed as much, but the product listing confirms the trilogy as a repackaging of the three Resistance titles already available for the PlayStation 3. With such a revealing product page, we expect to hear something more official from Sony as the day goes on. We've reached out regardless in the meantime.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/25/resistance-the-trilogy-pops-up-on-amazon-france-with-may-16-l/">'Resistance: The Trilogy' pops up on Amazon France with May 16 launch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Apr 2012 09:15:00 EST. Now though, new life has been injected into its whimpering husk with the registration of an extremely longwinded URL: <a href="http://playstationallstarsbattleroyale.com/">http://www.playstationallstarsbattleroyale.com</a><br /><br />If we follow the rumor train's logic tracks, <em>PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale</em> is <em>Title Fight</em>'s actual name, and the game is set to be officially announced <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/geoffkeighley/status/193711195717505025">on Spike TV this Thursday</a>. The URL <em>does</em> belong to "Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC," according to the its whois information, so that much at least has been verified as <em>totes legit</em>. As for whether this thing is what became of <em>Title Fight</em>, however, we'll have to wait and see. One thing's for sure, though: That URL is <em>way</em> too long.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/21/sony-registers-domain-for-playstation-all-stars-battle-royale/">Sony registers domain for 'PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 21 Apr 2012 21:00:00 EST. Either you love the drama of every at-bat, every line drive and double play, or you think it's boring as all get-out. It's a tough experience to translate into a game, especially in a manner that's, you know, something you'll want to keep playing.<br /><br />The MLB: The Show series by Sony's San Diego Studio has been the top baseball sim for several years and a solid exclusive to Sony's platforms. But this year is a big one: Sony's launched a new handheld, the PlayStation Vita, and it's debuted <em>MLB 12: The Show</em> on the platform, hoping to achieve parity between the handheld version and the PS3 game, the latter of which certainly hasn't been neglected this season.<br /><br />Once again, Sony's knocked it out of the park.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mlb-12-the-show/">MLB 12: The Show</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mlb-12-the-show/#4927046"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/bcus-98295-ss1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mlb-12-the-show/#4927047"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/bcus-98295-ss2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mlb-12-the-show/#4927048"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/bcus-98295-ss3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mlb-12-the-show/#4927049"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/bcus-98295-ss4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mlb-12-the-show/#4927051"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/bcus-98295-ss5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/29/mlb-12-the-show-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MLB 12: The Show (PS3, PS Vita) review: Ahead in the count</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/29/mlb-12-the-show-review/">MLB 12: The Show (PS3, PS Vita) review: Ahead in the count</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Mar 2012 16:00:00 EST. According to <a href="http://kotaku.com/5894692/rumor-socom-creators-being-shut-down-by-sony">Kotaku</a> sources, there's been "chatter for several days" about an impending closure and the possible cancellation of a current project. Sony has not commented on the situation.<br /><br />Those with short memories may recall Zipper Interactive for it PS Vita shooter, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/unit-13"><i>Unit 13</i></a>. But the company's roots go much deeper -- Zipper Interactive was founded in 1995 and spent the remainder of the '90s making Windows games. In 2002, Zipper created a little PS2 game for Sony called <em>SOCOM: US Navy Seals</em> and, after spending the next few years pumping out sequels, it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/01/24/sony-swallows-socom-acquires-zipper-interactive/">acquired by the publisher</a> in 2006. The developer completed work on the large-scale multiplayer shooter, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mag">MAG</a>,</em> in 2010.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/23/rumor-sony-shutting-down-socom-creators-zipper-interactive/">Rumor: Sony shutting down SOCOM dev Zipper Interactive</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Mar 2012 21:30:00 EST. To celebrate this occasion and mark the game's first anniversary, Sony will turn up the juice this weekend with a double XP event.<br /><br />Dubbed <em>Killzone 3 Multiplayer, </em>the free standalone product features the Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations game modes, including all launch and DLC maps from <em>Killzone 3</em> proper. Players are free to partake until they attain Sergeant I rank. To continue past then, you'll have to pony up $15.<br /><br />Double XP kicks off on Friday at 8am PT and lasts until 2am PT on Monday. Those playing the free version of <em>Killzone 3</em> multiplayer will not earn double XP this weekend.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/28/psa-killzone-3-multiplayer-goes-free-to-play-today-on-psn/">PSA: 'Killzone 3 Multiplayer' goes free-to-play today on PSN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Feb 2012 16:00:00 EST. As my prepubescent self might have exclaimed at the series' introduction so many years ago, "A clown with a perpetually flaming head drives around in an ice cream truck killing people? That is so <em>cool</em>."<br /><br />Imagine my stifled pleasure when a new installment of Twisted Metal was announced for the PS3. I envisioned how much the old arcade gameplay might benefit from some modern influence, and how much technology could augment the formula and push the series into exciting new territories.<br /><br />Too bad that isn't the case here. Instead, <em>Twisted Metal</em> does little to shake things up and takes the safe, careful approach with its PS3 debut.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/14/twisted-metal-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Twisted Metal review: On cruise control</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/14/twisted-metal-review/">Twisted Metal review: On cruise control</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 Feb 2012 12:00:00 EST. Nihilistic Software's <em>Resistance</em> spin-off, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/resistance-burning-skies"><em>Resistance: Burning Skies</em></a>, is gearing up for an early summer launch on PlayStation Vita. May 29 marks the fifth coming of the Chimera in New York City.<br /><br /><em>Resistance: Burning Skies</em> takes place during the fictional Chimera invasion of the American eastern seaboard back in 1951. Players assume the role of Tom Riley, an everyday firefighter from New Jersey. Game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Druckmann let slip a few details about combat mechanics in a video interview with Game Informer: Health will not automatically regenerate; Ellie, your AI companion, will be intelligent enough to throw bricks and other materials at your enemies, and she won't break your "stealth" mode; and it may include Uncharted-esque playable cinematics, but in more intimate environments.<br /><br />Straley and Druckmann discuss combat moments as part strategy, part shooter, and say they're infusing the title with realistic reactions from NPCs and the protagonist alike. When Atlus decided to publish the game in North America, it took a risk -- one that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/21/demons-souls-shifts-atlus-to-black-profit-tendency/">paid off</a>. The duty of publishing the sequel, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dark-souls"><em>Dark Souls</em></a>, would then go to Namco Bandai.<br /><br />Does Sony regret passing on publishing <em>Demon's Souls</em> in North America? Senior VP Shuhei Yoshida thinks so. He told <a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/02/10/shuhei-yoshida-interview.aspx?PostPageIndex=2">Game Informer</a> the company passed on the game after seeing an earlier build of the game. "What happened with <em>Demon's Souls</em> was until very late in the game's development, we were not able to play the game through. There were framerate issues and the network was not up and running. We underestimated the quality of the game and to be honest, the media in Japan did the same."<br /><br />But still, even after a few hours with the final product, Yoshida remarked that he just wasn't able to see the value in the game. "For my personal experience with <em>Demon's Souls</em>, when it was close to final I spent close to two hours playing it and after two hours I was still standing at the beginning at the game. I said, 'This is crap. This is an unbelievably bad game.' So I put it aside." In the end, Yoshida admitted Sony "dropped the ball from a publishing standpoint" and was not able to "see the value of the product."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/10/why-sony-passed-on-publishing-demons-souls-in-america/">Why Sony passed on publishing Demon's Souls in America</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Feb 2012 21:45:00 EST. Since then, PSN has garnered more than 77 million users worldwide, introduced PlayStation Plus, and now offers original content, TV shows, movies and even <em>games</em>.<br /><br />Panico oversaw the implementation of all these features, consistently emphasizing the larger entertainment scope of PSN and attempting to expand its audience base with original programming such as PULSE and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-tester">The Tester</a>.<br /><br />Panico also ran damage control during 2011's PSN hack, after which Sony gave away free games and a massive amount of apologies.<br /><br />Sony Computer Entertainment America's Patrick Seybold confirmed Panico's departure, but there is no word yet on a replacement or Panico's own future plans.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/30/psn-north-american-senior-director-susan-panico-leaves-sony/">PSN North American Senior Director Susan Panico leaves Sony</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Jan 2012 14:30:00 EST. Update your files, adventurers. Developer Idol Minds' hack-and-slash RPG, <em>Ruin</em>, which allows you to share save files and play between PS3 and PS Vita, now has a new name ... and it's about as generic as the previous one. It's called <em>Warrior's Lair</em> now.<br />
<br />
We don't know when we'll get to play <em>Warrior's Lair</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/07/ruin-preview-hack-and-social/">again</a>, and it's not part of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/22/playstation-vitas-25-game-north-american-launch-lineup-pricing/">the PlayStation Vita launch lineup</a>, but as soon as we hear something we'll leave a message at the tavern. That <em>is</em> how warriors get their information nowadays, right?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/14/ps3-vita-rpg-ruin-now-called-warriors-lair/">PS3 / Vita RPG 'Ruin' now called 'Warrior's Lair'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 14 Jan 2012 04:00:00 EST. <br />
For the last few month, LightBox has been running a <em>Starhawk </em>private beta, which just <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/21/starhawk-beta-flies-away-january-3/">concluded</a> on January 3. Like a big bouncer guarding the door of your city's hot new club, the developer barred entry to all Joe and Jane Schmoes looking to get their taste of what's to come. Boys and girls, soon you'll have your chance: the beta's going public.<br />
<br />
PlayStation Plus subscribers get first crack at the public demo starting next week on January 17 for the US and January 18 for Europe, <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/01/13/call-to-arms-starhawk-public-beta-begins-tuesday-january-17th/">PlayStation Blog</a> reports. If you <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/12/buying-uncharted-3-gets-you-into-next-years-starhawk-beta/">picked up <em>Uncharted 3</em></a>, you'll get a crack at the public beta two weeks later: January 31 in the US and February 1 in Europe. Finally, if you've got a regular ol' free PSN account, you can jump in on February 21, when the beta is open to all US users; European users get in on the following day.<br />
<br />
If you were one of the lucky few to get into the private beta, you'll have access to the public beta starting next week, granted you didn't erase your original beta files. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/13/starhawk-beta-goes-public-starting-with-psn-plus-subscribers-nex/">Starhawk beta goes public starting with PSN Plus subscribers next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Jan 2012 14:40:00 EST. According to <a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/twisted-metal-uk-release-date-confirmed/">MCV</a>, David Jaffe's <em>Twisted Metal</em> reboot will launch in Europe a few days after its North American cousin launches on Valentine's Day.<br />
<br />
European drivers will be able to get behind the wheel of Jaffe's latest on February 17. Early adopters receive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/28/twisted-metal-includes-twisted-metal-black-download-code/">a free voucher</a> to download the 2001 PS2 title <em>Twisted Metal Black</em>, included in the first pressing of <em>Twisted Metal</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/09/twisted-metal-blows-up-europe-on-february-17/">Twisted Metal blows up Europe on February 17</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jan 2012 16:30:00 EST. Beyond associating New York City's George Washington Bridge with exorbitant toll fees and the inanity of driving in Manhattan, we can't think of the bridge without respectfully recalling our country's first president. Well, that and the Chimera's first East Coast push into the US, <em>obviously</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/26/defend-george-washingtons-good-name-in-the-latest-resistance-b/">Defend George Washington's good name in new Resistance: Burning Skies clip</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Dec 2011 18:01:00 EST. When PlayStation Vita arrives in North America on February 22, 2012, it's bringing the cavalry. More specifically, 25 games will launch alongside the console in late February, with another 10 filling out the "launch window" from both Sony internal and third party studios.<br />
<br />
Sony says the games will range in price from $9.99 to $49.99, though the company isn't pinning specific prices to any of the titles. Interestingly, several titles are listed as "PSN Only," including <em>Escape Plan, Plants vs. Zombies</em>, and <em>Hustle Kings</em> - we've reached out to Sony for clarification on how that will affect pricing. The full list is available after the break, as well as an enormous list of accessories that you'll be able to pick up on or near launch.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/22/playstation-vitas-25-game-north-american-launch-lineup-pricing/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PlayStation Vita's 25-game North American launch lineup, pricing laid bare</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/22/playstation-vitas-25-game-north-american-launch-lineup-pricing/">PlayStation Vita's 25-game North American launch lineup, pricing laid bare</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Dec 2011 14:40:00 EST. In <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/twisted-metal-2012"><em>Twisted Metal</em></a>, having a vehicle outfitted with rockets and guns and other destructive things may get you far, but it may not do much against The Brothers Grimm.
