Finally, the complex and compelling story of <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/blazblue">BlazBlue</a> is getting the anime treatment with <a href="http://blazblue-am.jp/index.html"><em>BlazBlue Alter Memory</em></a>. According to <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2013-05-19/blazblue-alter-memory-anime-story-cast-staff-revealed">Anime News Network</a>, the story centers on Ragna the Bloodedge - you might know him as "humongous sword guy" - and the ragtag gang of pugilists determined to collect the bounty on his head. Somehow, a fox lady, a little vampire girl and a weird, anthropomorphic cat person figure in there as well.<br />
<br />
<em>BlazBlue Alter Memory</em> is set to launch this fall.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/blazblue-alter-memory-transplants-the-game-into-anime/">BlazBlue Alter Memory transplants the game into anime</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 May 2013 04:00:00 EST. Considering the game is coming from Nexon (the maker of games like <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/maple-story"><em>Maple Story</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/combat-arms"><em>Combat Arms</em></a>, and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dragon-nest"><em>Dragon Nest</em></a>), it probably comes as no surprise to learn the <em>Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex</em> will be free-to-play and supported by microtransactions.<br /><br />We've got almost a year to wait for this one, but Nexon also points out that it is only the first of a few different games it will be making with Kodansha as part of a deal announced in December 2012.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/14/nexon-launching-free-to-play-ghost-in-the-shell-fps-in-first-hal/">Nexon launching free-to-play Ghost in the Shell FPS in first half of 2014</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Feb 2013 20:00:00 EST. For $6.95 a month, users will be able to stream <a href="http://www.crunchyroll.com/videos/anime">Crunchyroll's selection of anime</a> <em>or</em> <a href="http://www.crunchyroll.com/videos/drama">Korean dramas</a> to their televisions by way of PS3 -- getting both requires a package subscription at $11.95 a month. Subscribing also grants access to HD content on Crunchyroll's website, as well as early access to new episodes and an iOS/Android app.<br /><br />In related news, VIZ Media's Neon Alley anime channel (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/30/viz-media-launching-subscription-based-neon-alley-anime-channe/">announced for unspecific consoles</a> late last month) will be coming to the PS3 when the channel launches this fall. As you'll recall, Neon Alley functions like a premium television channel, airing shows according to a set schedule and requiring a $6.99 subscription.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/15/cunchyroll-app-coming-to-ps3-plus-bonus-streaming-anime-news/">Crunchyroll app coming to PS3 (plus bonus streaming anime news)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 15 Jul 2012 21:55:00 EST. The $6.99 a month service will not be an on-demand streaming app, but rather an actual television channel with a <em>schedule</em> and <em>everything</em>. All content will be uncensored, in HD when possible, but <em>always</em> dubbed in English, which could be good or bad depending on your personal anime sensibilities.<br /><br />The channel <em>will</em> broadcast advertisements, despite the subscription fee, though VIZ says those ads will be "limited" and help keep the monthly cost below 10 dollars. Announced programming includes <em>Naruto Shippuden</em>, <em>Inuyasha: The Final Act</em>, <em>Death Note</em> and quite a few others, as well as original programming.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/30/viz-media-launching-subscription-based-neon-alley-anime-channe/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIZ Media launching subscription-based 'Neon Alley' anime channel on consoles this fall</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/30/viz-media-launching-subscription-based-neon-alley-anime-channe/">VIZ Media launching subscription-based 'Neon Alley' anime channel on consoles this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 30 Jun 2012 21:00:00 EST. Tune in every Wednesday for thoughts on white-haired villains, giant robots, Infinity+1 swords, and everything else the wonderful world of JRPGs has to offer.</small></font><br /><div> <hr size="2" style="padding-left: 5px; " width="100%" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/25/why-the-future-looks-expensive-for-super-robot-taisen-and-other/"><img alt="Image" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/srtzxheader.jpg" style="margin: 4px; width: 530px; height: 299px; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid;" /></a></div>It's gone largely unnoticed here in the U.S., but Namco Bandai is in the middle of a grand experiment with its <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Super-Robot-Taisen/">Super Robot Taisen</a></em> strategy RPG series (which has seen life stateside in the past thanks to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/05/atlus-lasciviously-announces-super-robot-taisen-og-saga-endless/">Atlus USA</a>). And if you like Japanese RPGs - or anything that's expensive to produce in general - you might want to pay attention, because this could be your future.<br /><br />Namco Bandai's licensed strategy game series -- which teams mechs like Gundam with the likes of Voltron -- has been around for 20 years now, and in that time it's picked up a loyal audience. I know because I'm one of them. We were all excited because we wanted to see how the story would continue in the franchise's latest arc, which kicked off on the PS2.<br /><br />But Namco Bandai, of course, had a curveball. Like the last two Harry Potter films, the SRT sequel would be split into two parts. It even released a boxed set that came with the first of the two games, a story digest recapping the event of the storyline so far, and a slot for the second game. The total price for just one of the games at launch was 7300 yen (about $90).<br /><br />The rising prices go hand-in-hand with the decline of anime and domestic gaming in Japan, and the rise of piracy. Put simply, making a <em>Super Robot Taisen</em> game doesn't come cheap. The series has based its reputation on elaborate 2D animated sequences like this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&amp;v=x-xuJDf7YWA#t=90s" target="_blank">this one</a>, which take time and money to create. And the robots touted in the title are all from well-known mecha series, which means ever higher licensing fees.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/25/why-the-future-looks-expensive-for-super-robot-taisen-and-other/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Why the future looks expensive for Super Robot Taisen and other Namco Bandai RPGs</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/25/why-the-future-looks-expensive-for-super-robot-taisen-and-other/">Why the future looks expensive for Super Robot Taisen and other Namco Bandai RPGs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Apr 2012 16:15:00 EST. Capcom said <em>Asura's Wrath</em> will be getting several "substantial" DLC packs, two of which are "anime-inspired" episodes that will provide insight into the main game's story. We think Capcom is being humble here; not only do these particular installments look to be inspired by anime, they're rendered in full-blown, traditional Japanese-cartoon style.<br /><br />We caught wind previously of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/17/asura-takes-his-wrath-out-on-ryu-in-upcoming-dlc/">another DLC installment</a> involving a <em>Street Fighter</em>/<em>Asura's Wrath</em> crossover, and Capcom confirmed players will get to battle Ryu and as-yet unannounced Street Fighter characters, in classic, non-anime 3D. No word yet on release dates or pricing.<br /><br />Check out the "DLC-inspired" screens below:<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/">Asura's Wrath (2/21/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833268"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathryuvsakurabmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833269"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot001bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833270"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot002bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833274"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot001bmpjpgcopy-1329842146_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833275"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot002bmpjpgcopy-1329842147_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/21/asuras-wrath-dlc-isnt-kidding-about-this-anime-inspired-stuf/">Asura's Wrath DLC isn't kidding about this 'anime-inspired' stuff</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Feb 2012 16:00:00 EST. Let's imagine, for a moment, that we're all 10 years old again. (If you're <em>actually</em> 10 years old, good work.) Can you think of anything even remotely as cool as an arcade game about cars that transform into robots, where the <em>arcade cabinet transforms too</em>? Damn right you can't, because it's the best idea any living human being has ever had.<br />
<br />
The arcade game in question, <em>Super Speed Transforming Gyrozetter</em>, is developed by Square Enix and transforms to reveal control levers as the player's car transforms into its robot counterpart. Cars have been licensed from Toyota, Mistubishi, Mazda, Mitsuoka and Subaru, making for an entirely authentic giant transforming robot experience.<br />
<br />
The cabinet serves as the flagship for an entire <em>Gyrozetter</em> gaming/manga/anime franchise devised by Square Enix; a serialized manga based on the game is already in print, and both an animated feature film <em>and</em> 3DS game are reportedly in the pipelines. Trademark filings <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2011/12/12/square-enixs-transformers-like-series-gyrozetter-may-be-heading-overseas/">uncovered by Siliconera</a> indicate that Square Enix has plans to expand the franchise to Europe after a successful Japanese launch, although we find it improbable that the arcade game itself will ever be exported outside of Japan. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-speed-transforming-gyrozetter-arcade/">Super Speed Transforming Gyrozetter (Arcade)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-speed-transforming-gyrozetter-arcade/#4687814"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/gyrozetter5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-speed-transforming-gyrozetter-arcade/#4687813"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/gyrozetter6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-speed-transforming-gyrozetter-arcade/#4687810"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/gyrozetter4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-speed-transforming-gyrozetter-arcade/#4687812"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/gyrozetter3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/18/square-enix-releasing-transforming-arcade-game-gyrozetter-ani/">Square Enix releasing transforming arcade game 'Gyrozetter,' anime and 3DS title to follow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 18 Dec 2011 18:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/persona-4-the-ultimate-in-mayonaka-arena"><em>Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena</em></a> won't be the only non-RPG way to experience that game's demon-filled, super-stylish world. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime series Persona 4: The Animation for North American release, with digital distribution beginning "soon," and a DVD and Blu-Ray release set for next year. It premieres in Japan on October 6.<br />
<br />
<em>Persona 4: The Animation</em> covers the events of the game in a distinctly less interactive format. It even features the same art director and composer, Shigenori Soejima and Shoji Meguro, as the game.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/29/persona-4-anime-coming-to-north-america/">Persona 4 anime coming to North America</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Sep 2011 07:05:00 EST. Not be confused with the ABC television series about a certain <em>sword of truth</em>, "Dawn of the Seeker" is the name of Funimation's upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/07/dragon-age-anime-due-in-2011/"><em>Dragon Age</em> anime</a>. The company also unveiled the first artwork for the film, featuring the probable protagonist and a good supply of swords. She might even have a third arm to go with that.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, said swords are being drawn slower than expected, as the animated film has been moved from a 2011 release window to sometime in 2012. For now you can take a peek at what's already in progress via two trailers below.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/27/dragon-age-anime-called-dawn-of-the-seeker-pushed-to-2012/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dragon Age anime called 'Dawn of the Seeker,' pushed to 2012</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/27/dragon-age-anime-called-dawn-of-the-seeker-pushed-to-2012/">Dragon Age anime called 'Dawn of the Seeker,' pushed to 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 27 Jul 2011 12:30:00 EST. We can't explain why NIS America's new <em>Bleach</em> game is called <em>Soul Resurrecci&oacute;n </em>without getting into some impenetrable <a href="http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Resurrecci%C3%B3n">lore</a>, but we can tell you about the stuff you'll get when you buy it. The first printing of the PS3 game (out August 2) will include vouchers for downloads of episodes 190-192 of the <em>Bleach</em> anime. The offer is available in both the US and Canada.<br />
<br />
In addition, for discerning <em>Bleach</em> fans, NIS America has announced that the North American release of the game will include both Japanese and English audio tracks. Both, judging by the title, will include a little Spanish.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/21/bleach-soul-resurreccion-comes-with-free-episodes-of-bleach-ani/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bleach: Soul Resurreccion comes with free episodes of Bleach anime</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/21/bleach-soul-resurreccion-comes-with-free-episodes-of-bleach-ani/">Bleach: Soul Resurreccion comes with free episodes of Bleach anime</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Jul 2011 04:00:00 EST. The <em>Mass Effect</em> universe will expand with a direct-to-video anime film in the summer of 2012. The film will be co-produced by Japanese animation house T.O. Entertainment, and FUNimation Entertainment -- the same company that hooked up with EA for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/07/dragon-age-anime-due-in-2011/"><em>Dragon Age</em></a> anime (due sometime this year). BioWare's sci-fi series joins <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-legends"><em>Halo</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/13/dantes-inferno-anime-remains-faithful-to-visceral-source/"><em>Dante's Inferno</em></a> in the very specific category of western-developed games that provide the basis for anime adaptations.<br />
<br />
This movie represents another drop in the <em>Mass Effect </em>transmedia bucket, which currently contains several <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mass-effect,novel">novels</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mass-effect,comics">comics</a> and plans for a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/25/report-mass-effect-movie-rights-obtained-by-legendary-pictures/">Hollywood venture</a>. There's no word yet on the plot -- or how, exactly, Shepard will be drawn this time.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/07/mass-effect-anime-jumps-home-in-2012/">Mass Effect anime jumps home in 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Apr 2011 10:30:00 EST. But there's actually a third Professor Layton title on the way! In the UK, on October 4, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/07/professor-layton-movie-licensed-for-uk-distribution/">Manga Entertainment</a> is releasing the <em>Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva</em> movie on DVD and Blu-Ray.<br />
<br />
The film will be released in disc-only <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professor-Layton-Eternal-Diva-DVD/dp/B003PHT5W4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=dvd&amp;qid=1279725848&amp;sr=1-1">DVD</a> and <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professor-Layton-Eternal-Diva-Blu-ray/dp/B003PHT5WO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&amp;s=dvd&amp;qid=1279725862&amp;sr=1-2">Blu-Ray</a> editions, as well as a DVD <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professor-Layton-Eternal-Diva-Collectors/dp/B003VADNWI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&amp;s=dvd&amp;qid=1279725862&amp;sr=1-3">collector's edition</a>. If you really want to drop some money on the <em>Layton</em> movie, the <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professor-Layton-Eternal-Blu-ray-Combi/dp/B003VADNWS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&amp;s=dvd&amp;qid=1279726580&amp;sr=1-4">DVD + Blu-Ray Combi Pack</a> includes both the DVD and Blu-Ray discs, as well as the gorgeous collector's edition packaging and a book of storyboards.<br />
<br />
If you're in the US, ordering from Amazon UK is as simple as signing in with your American account. That leaves only the issue of region-coding -- at the moment, there's no information about the coding on either version of the movie.<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/21/professor-layton-and-the-eternal-diva-travel-to-the-uk-in-style/">Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva travel to the UK in style</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Jul 2010 16:40:00 EST. Our biggest beef with slapping on a pair of glasses for some <em>hot</em> <em>3D gaming action</em> isn't how silly we might look (the headset we wear at all times keeps us feeling sufficiently silly, <em>thank you very much</em>), but that the glasses simply don't match our $300 Diesel jeans. Lucky for us, then, that stylish glasswear designer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gunnar">Gunnar Optiks</a> just released two pairs of extra snappy-looking, 3DTV-ready glasses -- named "Anime" and "Phenom," respectively -- for $99 a pop.<br />
<br />
If that price sounds high to you, perhaps you've discounted the fact that the glasses can also be used for "running a military flight planning simulation, creating/viewing virtual 3D home and commercial architecture environments, or mapping the human genome through molecular modeling?" <em>Perhaps</em>. Regardless, they're available right now from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Attache-Graphite-Performance-Technology-ST002-C01206/dp/B0035ER1IC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=electronics&amp;qid=1278005249&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon</a>, <a href="http://www.buy.com/prod/gunnar-optiks-phenom-graphite-digital-performance-3d-eyewear-with-i/q/loc/111/216033106.html">Buy.com</a>, and <a href="http://www.gunnars.com/gunnar_3D_collection.php">Gunnar</a> itself.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/01/gunnar-adding-style-to-3d-glasses-for-100-per-pair/">Gunnar adding style to 3D glasses ... for $100 per pair</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Jul 2010 17:00:00 EST. Production started last month, with an intended 2011 direct-to-video release. <br />
<br />
This will be the first release from Funimation's new Original Entertainment department, started to do exactly this kind of thing: develop new anime based on existing IP. We do wonder about the strict definition of the term "anime," though: if it's produced by an American publisher and based on an American (Canadian, actually) game, is it still anime? Luckily, this is one of those distinctions that doesn't matter at all. Regardless of the name, if you like <em>Dragon Age</em>, you'll soon get to watch a cartoon about it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/07/dragon-age-anime-due-in-2011/">Dragon Age anime due in 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 07 Jun 2010 10:15:00 EST. We've certainly heard questions to the effect of "Sengoku Ba-whatnow?" a few times since the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/25/tgs-2009-capcom-bringing-sengoku-basara-samurai-heroes-and-ghos/">TGS announcement</a> of the of the Wii/PS3 brawler. <br />
<br />
Funimation is licensing the popular anime show that ties into the game, and has posted the first two episodes online for free. If your curious, let that act as your introduction to the fictionalized version of Japan's Warring States period and its youthful, attractive <a href="http://kotaku.com/5522005/a-look-at-the-real-not+so+sexy-samurai-of-capcoms-latest-game">reinterpretations</a> of the country's most famous warlords.<br />
<br />
You don't really need much background, historical or pseudo-historical, to play the game, but it might be nice to know who these dudes are, and who those other dudes are who are being killed by said dudes.<br />

Wow, really? 13 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pokemon"><em>Pokemon</em></a> movies? At what point do you think there will be more movies than games? Yeah, we're just kidding -- that'll <em>never</em> happen. <br />
<br />
There's a trailer available via <a href="http://www.filb.de/1291">Filb.de</a> for the <a href="http://www.pokemon-movie.jp/index.html">13th film</a>, <em>Phantom Champion Z,</em> past the break. Put your eyes on it and let its splendor wash over you like an awesome wave of awesomeness. Hey, in the least it's got copious amounts of Zorua and Zoroark from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pokemon-black-and-white"><em>Pok&eacute;mon Black and White</em></a>, so that's easily worth the click.<br />

We're currently checking with the US company to determine its plans, but at the very least we now know that there will be an officially translated (dubbed, in fact) version of the film on Blu-ray and DVD this September. Consider getting around the region coding ... a puzzle.<br />
<br />
The movie features an original story by Level-5 CEO and <em>Professor Layton</em> creator Akihiro Hino, about mysterious kidnappings and a creepy opera house that apparently holds the secret to immortality. And puzzles.<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/07/professor-layton-movie-licensed-for-uk-distribution/">Professor Layton movie licensed for UK distribution</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Apr 2010 17:14:00 EST. The game once called "not just the best Sega CD RPG ever, but one of the best on any Sega system" has eventually moved to almost all of the systems, as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lunar-silver-star-story"><em>Lunar: The Silver Star</em></a> has been remade and re-released on the Sega Saturn, the PlayStation, the PC, and even the GBA. And now here it comes again on the PSP as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lunar-silver-star-harmony/"><em>Lunar: Silver Star Harmony</em></a>. This time around, the graphics have been given a complete makeover, and cutscenes have been added in, along with new voicework and music as well. Although going by the video above, XSEED might not have even bothered -- the new anime style turns a console RPG relic into something that looks like <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranma_%C2%BD"><em>Ranma &amp;frac12;</em></a>.<br />
<br />
But the gameplay is still there, and the story is a good one. <em> Lunar: Silver Star Harmony</em> should be out in stores on March 2nd, available both for $29.99 and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/18/lunar-silver-star-harmony-gets-definitive-limited-edition/">as a limited edition</a> for $39.99.<br />

NIS America isn't all about making niche video games. No, they're going to be making niche anime DVDs as well. Beginning mid-2010, NIS America will roll out their new anime line, beginning with these four titles: <em>Toradora!</em>, <em>Persona: Trinity Soul</em>, <em>PandoraHearts</em>, and <em>Our Home's Fox Deity</em>.<br />
<br />
Jack Niida confirmed that these titles will be available exclusively on DVD at first, although didn't rule out the possibility of Blu-ray, PlayStation Network and Zune Marketplace releases in the future. These series will receive a limited print, and will be available through online specialty retailers -- brick and mortar stores, like Best Buy and Walmart, will not carry these titles. Series will be sold as box sets, with approximately half a season included in each package. The press release also states that "like its video game offerings, anime titles will be available with collector's items."<br />
<br />
When questioned why NIS America would enter yet another niche market, Niida told us that "a lot of anime companies have shut down," leaving only Funimation, Bandai and VIZ Media to represent the entirety of the US anime market. NIS America wanted to pursue some of the smaller titles that would otherwise never find an English language distributor. Certainly, this is good news for <em>Persona</em> fans, but we wish NIS America the best of luck tackling an industry plagued with an even larger piracy problem than games.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/12/nis-america-to-enter-us-anime-market-with-persona-trinity-soul/">NIS America to enter US anime market with Persona: Trinity Soul</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Feb 2010 17:40:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tales-of-vesperia"><em>Tales of Vesperia</em></a> continues gracing the PS3 with more and more content. <em>The First Strike</em>, an animated film prequel to the game, will be available on Blu-ray <a href="http://dbeat.bandaivisual.co.jp/news/?catid=1&amp;itemid=503">in Japan</a> and it'll unlock extra costumes for the PS3 version of the game. (Undoubtedly, this will make some Xbox 360 owners <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/08/japanese-gamer-breaks-disc-and-burns-magazine-article-over-vespe/">quite angry</a>.)<br />
<br />
This isn't the first time a Blu-ray has been enhanced for the PS3. Most recently, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/28/god-of-war-iii-demo-included-on-district-9-blu-ray/"><em>District 9</em></a> featured a playable God of War III demo. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/26/zombieland-blu-ray-includes-dynamic-theme-for-ps3/"><em>Zombieland</em></a> also includes a dynamic XMB theme. However, <em>Tales of Vesperia</em> seems to be charting new territory by unlocking additional game content via a Blu-ray movie. It's certainly an interesting experiment: one we'd like to see more and more movies take advantage of. See a trailer for the movie after the break.<br />

A <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/super-street-fighter-iv"><em>Super Street Fighter IV</em></a> anime project is in the works from the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzo_%28company%29">Gonzo</a> animation company. The anime focuses on Juri (and her weird glowing eye), but also contains "great fighting action," "backstory goodness," and "plenty of Cammy and the Dolls," according to Capcom's <a href="http://capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2010/01/26/new_super_street_fighter_iv_animated_trailer">Seth Killian</a>. <br />
<br />
How to <em>see</em> the anime is a bit of a mystery. Capcom is offering it to Xbox 360 buyers of <em>Super Street Fighter IV</em> as a bonus (possibly as some kind of download or through Xbox Live Marketplace), but that offer is for Japan only. The fact that a trailer is available on Xbox Live Marketplace in North America suggests that it <em>will</em> be available here in some form. We're checking with Capcom for details. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer above or through your Xbox.<br />

In a display of <em>corporately synergistic</em> timing, FUNimation has also released the anime online -- for free! If you don't mind watching it in a window on your computer, you can see either the first two episodes in <a href="http://www4.funimation.com/video/?page=video&amp;v=3647">dubbed</a> format or all 13 episodes with <a href="http://www4.funimation.com/video/?page=video&amp;v=3431">subtitles</a>.<br />
<br />
Of course, for those of you who enjoy watching things on televisions, FUNimation plans to release a two-DVD set containing the entire season on January 26. We haven't watched yet, but we're definitely looking forward to this feel-good tale of some kids out to destroy the world and save humanity from beast-man enslavement.<br />

After a successful partnership on XBLA/PSN release <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</a></em> (breath), Udon Entertainment and Capcom are once again working together, though this time the <em>Street Fighter</em> comic book artists are adding endings to upcoming Wii fighter <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tatsunoko-vs-capcom">Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars</a></em>. Despite Udon's pedigree, the announcement post remains overwhelmingly humble, saying, "Everyone at Udon is very proud to have contributed to such an epic piece of video game and anime history." We haven't gotten our hands on any screens of the endings just yet, but we'll be sure to give you a gander as soon as we do.<br />

Today's the day, folks. The last weekend of a two-month long, mostly bi-weekly <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-legends">Halo Legends</a></em> release on Xbox Live Marketplace. While you can find the "Making of" version of this week's episode next week, "Origins Part 1" will mark the last free episode of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/05/halo-legends-blu-ray-dated-feb-9-2010-perfect-fanboy-storm-a/">soon-to-be-released series</a>. And yes, that "Part 1" modifier certainly does indicate a cliffhanger ending -- particularly considering this episode includes information on the barely talked about Forerunners of the <em>Halo</em> franchise. And now, if you'll excuse us, we're off to peep this joint for ourselves.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/02/psa-halo-legends-origins-part-1-available-today-only/">PSA: Halo Legends 'Origins Part 1' available today only</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 02 Jan 2010 14:30:00 EST. Namco Bandai is unsurprisingly working on a sequel to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/naruto-ultimate-ninja-storm"><em>Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm</em></a>. Revealed in the latest issue of V-Jump, the sequel will take place right where the first game left off, at the beginning of the <em>Shippuden</em> series. Not only will the cast of characters be older in the sequel, <em>Ultimate Ninja Storm 2</em> is promising some big new features, primarily 4-player support and a multiplatform release. Yep, unlike the first game, <em>Ultimate Ninja Storm 2</em> will be released on both PS3 and Xbox 360.<br />
<br />
Details are slim at the moment, but with a planned 2010 release in Japan, we'll undoubtedly find out more soon. So long as CyberConnect 2 can expand on the game's depth while keeping its good looks, anime fans will want to keep an eye out for this one.<br />

It seems Naruto is well on his way towards becoming a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/madden">football announcer</a>. Namco Bandai's games based on the anime franchise continue their proliferation. <em>Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3</em> is coming to PSP and it continues Naruto's inability to save his friend Sasuke.<br />
<br />
The big new features for this third iteration of <em>Shippuden</em> are four-player battles, a new story mode and an expanded roster of characters (Namco Bandai is promising over 50). In addition to the usual fighting modes, a new cooperative ad-hoc feature will let three players connect with each other and play through the adventure mode. While the enhancements sound promising, we wonder if fans haven't grown tired of these annual iterations yet.<br />

If you managed to get into the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mag"><em>MAG</em></a> beta and thought <em>that</em> was a lot of downloading, Aksys' <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/record-of-agarest-war/">Record of Agarest War</a> </em>is going to blow your mind. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psn">PSN</a> title will weigh in "somewhere around 8 - 10 gigs," an Aksys employee <a href="http://www.aksysgames.com/forums/topic/330#post-2789">posted</a> on the game's forums. Obviously, eight to ten gigabytes isn't going to be much space for your PS3's big and burly hard drive and it's definitely understandable considering the game was originally a disc-based release in Europe; however, the time it'll take to download all of those gigglebytes is another story. <br />
<br />
We suggest starting the download before you go to bed or -- considering the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/watch-a-few-minutes-of-record-of-agarest-wars-100-hour-advent/">"100 hour" adventure</a> isn't actually out yet -- taking the Delorean up to 88MPH.<br />

If you enjoyed the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboy_bebop"><em>Cowboy Bebop</em></a>-meets-Master Chief action presented in the first episode of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-legends"><em>Halo Legends</em></a> (seriously, that main character looked just like Spike Spiegel!), then you may want to check out the second episode of the Spartan-themed anime premiering today on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-waypoint"><em>Halo Waypoint</em></a>. For 24 hours starting at 12:00AM PST (about eight hours ago), Xbox Live Silver and Gold members will be able to access "The Duel" through the "all-things-<em>Halo</em>" hub.<br />
<br />
Microsoft also notes that this will be the last week for Xbox Live Silver members to explore <em>Waypoint</em>, and in turn, enjoy the weekly free episodes of <em>Halo Legends</em>. If you're wondering what time the show will be available for you and you don't live in North America, a full list of showtimes is available on <a href="http://halo.xbox.com/en-us/transmissions/article/2009-11-19--The-Duel-is-coming-to-Halo-Waypoint-This-Saturday">Xbox.com</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/21/psa-second-halo-legends-episode-free-available-today-only/">PSA: Second Halo Legends episode free, available today only</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 21 Nov 2009 11:30:00 EST. A newly released trailer for the straight-to-video <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/30/dantes-inferno-getting-animated-movie-spin-off/">anime spin-off </a>reveals that this <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dantes-inferno"><em>Dante's Inferno</em></a> project isn't a single film, but rather a compilation of animated shorts, much like "The Animatrix," "<a href="http://www.warnervideo.com/batmangothamknight/">Batman: Gotham Knight</a>" and, most recently, "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-legends">Halo: Legends</a>."<br /><br />We're pretty certain Dante Alighieri is rolling in his grave right now, as this anthology of multiple interpretations of Visceral Games' interpretation of the original epic poem is so <em>very</em> far removed from the source. But hey, it's Alighieri's fault for not having the foresight to write about someone's head getting chopped in half!<br /><br />Expect The Animated Epic to arrive on DVD and Blu-ray in February, the same month as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dantes-inferno/">the game</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/13/dantes-inferno-anime-remains-faithful-to-visceral-source/">Dante's Inferno anime remains faithful to Visceral source</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Nov 2009 09:01:00 EST. You know what? We're done making fun of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dragon-ball-z">Dragon Ball Z</a> </em>on Joystiq. We always end up doing so much research just to pull a joke off that the only ones who get it are the ones whose feelings we hurt. It's a sucker's game and besides that, it's just mean.<br /> <br /> So we're just going to tell you, without judgment, that <em>Dragon Ball: Raging Blast </em>has a demo that's now available on Xbox Live, and that it's a perfect way to kill time until the babysitter finishes heating up your Pizza Rolls.<br /> <br /> ... Shit.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/22/dragon-ball-raging-blast-demo-now-on-xbox-live/">Dragon Ball: Raging Blast demo now on Xbox Live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Oct 2009 13:45:00 EST. <small><em>Hokuto no Ken, it means no worries for the rest of your days ...</em></small></div>
<br />
Koei recently sent over <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fist-of-the-north-star/2364057/">a handful of screenshots</a> from its recently announced video game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fist-of-the-north-star">adaptation of the <em>Fist of the North Star</em></a> anime series, <em>Hokuto Musou</em>, which is due out in Japan in 2010. Thankfully for those of us who aren't manga aficionados, these screens were accompanied by a brief primer on the series' plot. We won't bore you with <a href="http://worthplaying.com/article/2009/10/14/news/69326/">the entire premise</a>, but instead offer you this highlight from Koei's description:<br />
<br />
"Channeling their energy into a single deadly blow, players can strike their victims and cause them to violently explode on screen. Gamers can also let loose with Kenshiro's signature move- a ruthless flurry of ferocious punches, triggering the instantaneous breakdown of internal organs, and death."<br />

Namco Bandai knows you can only continue to flog the equine corpse of <em>Naruto</em> and <em>Dragon Ball Z</em> so many times before it gets excessive. But rather than bring in new flog-ees, it's welcomed three new floggers to help run its North American operation.<br />

The company has just added former Codie Catherin Fowler, former 2K exec Graeme Bayless and Atari honcho Robert Stevenson to executive positions between which neither you nor we appreciate the distinction. All said they looked forward to being blasted on forums as "<em>somehow</em> less respectful of the art of anime than 4Kids." And <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIWP-j4aE3k">that's saying something</a>.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/24/namco-bandai-appoints-three-new-execs-to-north-american-operatio/">Namco Bandai appoints three new execs to North American operations</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Sep 2009 21:00:00 EST. Japanese gaming pub <a href="http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/194/194875/">Dengenki</a> recently polled its readers on what series they'd like to see translated into anime form. The Top 10 list looks nearly exactly the same as our own wishlist:<br />
<ul>
    <li><span>1. Persona 4</span></li>
    <li><span>2. Phoenix Wright</span></li>
    <li><span>3. Okami</span></li>
    <li><span>4. Kingdom Hearts</span></li>
    <li><span>5. Idol Master</span></li>
    <li><span>6. Metal Gear Solid</span></li>
    <li><span>7. Yakuza</span></li>
    <li><span>8. BlazBlue</span></li>
    <li><span>9. Persona 3</span></li>
    <li><span>10. Atelier Rorona </span></li>
</ul>
Atlus' PS2 RPG <em>Persona 4</em> tops the list, managing to beat out some big names like <em>Kingdom Hearts</em> and <em>Metal Gear Solid</em>. Perhaps the success of <em>Persona: Trinity Soul</em> reminded readers that the franchise works in serialized TV format? While we'd certainly like to see another <em>Persona</em> anime, an adaptation of <em>Phoenix Wright</em> seems like a no-brainer. Capcom, are you reading this?<br />

Who doesn't like a freebie? You can get the first episode of the second season of <em>Gunslinger Girl</em> -- presumably about a girl that slings guns (that's totally a lie) -- absolutely free from the PlayStation Video Store. Browse the "Anime" section of the Store, and look for the episode entitled "Distance Between Two: Brother and Sister." The offer is available on both PSP and PS3 until September 17.<br /><br />Catch a trailer after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/11/get-a-free-episode-of-gunslinger-girl-from-the-playstation-store/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Get a free episode of Gunslinger Girl from the PlayStation Store</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/11/get-a-free-episode-of-gunslinger-girl-from-the-playstation-store/">Get a free episode of Gunslinger Girl from the PlayStation Store</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 11 Sep 2009 18:30:00 EST. You know how Capcom said that the North American and European releases of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tatsunoko-vs-capcom"><em>Tatsunoko vs Capcom</em></a> would have some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/24/tatsunoko-vs-capcoms-four-new-characters-to-be-revealed-at-tgs/">new faces</a> not seen in the original Japanese release? Well, you could be looking at one of them from the <em>Tatsunoko </em>side as reader Vincent tipped us on <a href="http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee213/rayne21x/1252469089386.jpg">the above scan</a>. Vinny says the dude is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tekkaman_Blade">Tekkaman Blade</a>, who originally appeared in what is known as <em>an anime</em>. We're not sure what this <em>anime</em> is or what it does exactly, but as soon as we <em>crack that code</em>, we'll be sure to let you all know. While we do that, be sure to keep those fingers crossed for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/18/so-why-isnt-phoenix-wright-in-tatsunoko-vs-capcom/">our pal Phoenix Wright</a>.<br /><br />[Thanks, Vincent!]<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/09/rumor-a-new-tatsunoko-vs-capcom-challenger-appears/">Rumor: A new Tatsunoko vs Capcom challenger appears</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Sep 2009 11:30:00 EST. Considering the limited appeal of oldschool 2D sprite-based RPGs, the publisher has opted to distribute the game exclusively through the PlayStation Network. While it may be a "mere" downloadable title, Aksys is promoting the game's supposed "100 hours" of gameplay, making it easily one of the lengthiest PSN titles ever.<br /><br /><em>Record of Agarest War</em> is known for its use of anime fanservice and this initial clip shows us why. Apparently, girls have trouble covering the entirety of their chests in the world of Agarest. While that may prove to be problematic in battle, the video (after the break) shows that real warriors have no need for appropriate attire.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/record-of-agarest-war/">Record of Agarest War</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/record-of-agarest-war/#2242297"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-28_09-37-12-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/record-of-agarest-war/#2242296"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-28_09-37-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/record-of-agarest-war/#2242295"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-28_09-37-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/record-of-agarest-war/#2242294"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-28_09-37-08-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/record-of-agarest-war/#2242293"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-28_09-37-08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/watch-a-few-minutes-of-record-of-agarest-wars-100-hour-advent/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Watch a few minutes of Record of Agarest War's '100 hour' adventure</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/watch-a-few-minutes-of-record-of-agarest-wars-100-hour-advent/">Watch a few minutes of Record of Agarest War's '100 hour' adventure</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Aug 2009 15:00:00 EST.
