Harmonix disabled passwords for all accounts as a precautionary measure and now suggests it's safe for users to head back and reset their passwords.

There's no word on who initiated the attack, though Harmonix assured there aren't any signs of user information being published or misused. The attack comes a week after Harmonix concluded its DLC campaign for Rock Band, which delivered new songs every week for over five years.

"As Harmonix moves forward with several new titles currently in development, the talented developers who make this content are needed on other projects," reads the Dance Central blog. The studio doesn't completely shut the door on more content, however, stating that March is the last month of new DLC "for the near future." Live challenges and leaderboards will continue to be supported, and all DLC tracks will remain available.

This is the second time Harmonix has made such an announcement this year. Last month, the developer revealed that Rock Band 3 will receive no more DLC after April 2. The Rock Band franchise as a whole has had weekly DLC since the original game debuted in 2007.

That raises the question: Just what is studio working on now? Dance Central has consistently been one of the best-received products for Microsoft's Kinect, so it wouldn't be surprising to see a new Dance Central debut on the next Xbox, which is believed to have a more advanced Kinect sensor. The PS4 Eye is capable of motion-track as well, so a multiplatform title is also possible. Or who knows, maybe we'll see something entirely new.

Degrassi: The Next Generation alum Drake's "Take Care," featuring Rihanna, will be available March 5. The next week, Rihanna's own "Umbrella" and "SOS" will be available as a 400 MSP ($5) bundle or alone for $3 each.

Finally, on March 19, "London Bridge" by Fergie of Kids Incorporated fame will be released as danceable DLC.

January's DLC line-up for Dance Central 3 includes Nicki Minaj's "Whip It," Pitbull ft. T-Pain's "(Hey Baby) Drop It to The Floor," and Flo Rida's "Let It Roll." Whatever 'It' is, we're worried it's getting an unwarranted amount of abuse. Thankfully the month's two other downloadable offerings, namely Pitbull ft. Chris Brown's "International Love" and The Wanted's "Glad You Came," are much more affectionate-sounding.

"Whip It," originally a bonus track available with Walmart pre-orders of the game, is available for all from tomorrow on Xbox Live Marketplace. The two Pitbull tracks follow in a week's time on January 15, then it's "Glad You Came" on January 22 and "Let it Roll" on January 29. Each track sets you back 240 MSP, but you can get a couple of doggies on the cheap with Pitbull Pack 01, a bundle of "(Hey Baby) Drop It to The Floor" and "International Love" which woofs in at 400 MSP.

This is either a sign of the media's impotence or a hat tip to the brilliance of publisher EA that it withheld review copies until launch. A similar situation occurred with Resident Evil 6 a few weeks ago, a game which still sits pretty at tenth place on this week's chart.

Other new releases last week included portable games Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park, which debuted at eighth and ninth place, respectively.

If you're wondering about Just Dance 4 ('cause how can you not on the UK charts?), it may have slipped two spots from fourth to sixth, but sales were actually up one percent. Dance Central 3 debuted in 39th place. Shimmy on past the break for the UK top ten.

Microsoft confirmed today SmartGlass will launch alongside Windows 8 tablets on October 26, with Dance Central 3 and Forza Horizon among the first games to support it. The Xbox 360 app, which turns devices into secondary screens for the console, will be available for Windows 8 phones at launch on October 29. SmartGlass is expected to arrive on iOS and Android in 2013.

SmartGlass is implemented in the latest Xbox dashboard update, which Microsoft tells us it's rolled out to 3 million users so far. Another wave will receive the dashboard update today, so more users should have access to SmartGlass when the companion app becomes available for Windows 8 tablets on Friday.

Not that it's always wise to play games half-naked, especially ones that depend on jumping around in front of a camera, but pants will only slow you down and make you sweat even more than you already will. Wear gym shorts, if you must.

Like leaf-peeping, apple-picking and umpire second-judging, Dance Central has become an autumn tradition. You can argue that it's grown a bit repetitive by this third installment, but repetition is the key to pop music. A steady beat, a memorable bass line and a chorus that'll itch in your brain until you hear it one more time are the rudiments of a hit. Can you attack a game for reflecting pop music when that's the very bedrock upon which it is built?

They include, but are not limited to: Backstreet Boys' "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)", Los Del Rio's "Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)", Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby," and the staple of bar mitzvah's and weddings everywhere: "Y.M.C.A." by The Village People.

Thankfully, there will be less cringe-inducing tracks available too, and the ability to import tracks from the first two games. Harmonix tells us it hasn't announced an export price yet, but it's "looking to stay in the same ballpark" of $5.

Dance battles are now broken up into multiple sections, each with a different set of rules and different music. For example, "Keep the Beat" allows players to perform freestyle moves and awards maximum points for movement variety and keeping to the beat.

"Make Your Move," however, ups the ante. It is, essentially, the dance equivalent of HORSE.

Dance Central 3 introduces Crew Throwdown mode for up to eight players, in two teams of four. Players will progress through the popular moves of the '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s and "beyond." Looks like Harmonix is really ushering in a new era of dance games, huh?
