Developer Plastic Studios offers a solution, in the form of a free soundtrack downloadable through PSN today when the PS Store updates.

In the post announcing the soundtrack, director Michal Staniszewski discusses a still-hidden true meaning to all the events in the Move game. "I never spoke about the deeper layer of interpretation that connects the scenes," he said. "Every madness has its explanation, and Datura is no exception." Staniszewski also revealed a hidden feature that lets players use a second Move controller for head-tracking. That, of course, requires the second Move to be on your head.
Datura soundtrack free on PSN today originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 25 Sep 2012 19:15:00 EST. Welcome to Snapshot, where we highlight games that might fall outside our usual coverage but are still something we think you should know about. Today: Datura for PS3.

Standing amongst fallen leaves in an unknown forest, a face stares at me from the side of a tree. It's not a real face, of course, only a mask. Expending considerable effort, I pry the mask from the tree, revealing a hollow behind it. Housed within the hollow is a small pickaxe. Upon grasping the handle, I black out.

I wake up in the middle of a frozen wasteland. Crawling along the hard surface, I clear away some snow with my forearm, exposing the ice underneath. It's not a wasteland at all; it's a lake. Beneath the ice is a golden chalice. A noise from behind prompts me to clear away more snow, exposing a horror underneath: A woman is trapped below the ice, and she's still alive.

The pickaxe still rests in my hand, so I immediately go to work, chipping away as the woman squirms against the surface. My heart pounds as the axe falls again and again, slowly cracking the ice. Finally, the ice gives way - directly beneath me - and I tumble into the chilly abyss, sinking down as I watch the light of sky recede into nothingness. Again, I awake in the forest, the mask in my hand, which I quickly discard.

This is a moment pulled directly from Datura. Did I do something wrong? Something right? I haven't got a clue.

Snapshot: Datura (PS3) originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 17 May 2012 12:30:00 EST. While nothing official has been announced, we'd argue that this page constitutes fairly official notice in itself.

There's no corresponding US page, but it's likely that a May 9 release in the UK means Datura will come to North America on May 8, the nearest Tuesday. In any case, the new trailer (above) should make sure you have plenty of questions to go with this latest answer.
Product page lists May 9 release date for Datura in the UK originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 20 Apr 2012 12:30:00 EST. I had the opportunity to move through the forest, touch trees, and crack ice, but you need this video from PlayStation Blog to help understand the oddity of Datura.

Datura seems to trade adventure game logic for dream logic, and gives you bizarre choices that result in unexpected effects. For example, picking up an icepick (in a hollowed out statue) transports you instantly to an ice field, where you must decide whether to get a trophy -- or a frantic person -- out of the ice. Seemed like an easy choice for me, but apparently not everybody does the same thing. Your actions result in alterations to the main forest environment, which may include ... different insects? Told you it was odd.
Move's cryptic Datura captured on video originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 15 Mar 2012 17:40:00 EST. On the PlayStation Blog, director Michal Staniszewski revealed Datura, coming to PSN (for PS3) later in 2012. Datura has an "experimental narrative" full of puzzles and choices designed to add an "element of anxiety."
