<em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dragon-quest-ix">Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies</a></em> was just released on the DS -- if you've yet to check out our review, then <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/12/review-dragon-quest-ix-sentinels-of-the-starry-skies/">here's the pertinent linkage</a>. So, considering how much Square Enix has invested in the title, it's no surprise the brunt of producer Horii's chat (which you can see for yourself past the break) largely revolves around his hopes for the game. Basically, he wants <em>everyone</em> to play it. What a surprise!<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragon-quest-ix-e3-2010/">Dragon Quest IX (E3 2010)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragon-quest-ix-e3-2010/#3098673"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/dq92010-06-07-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragon-quest-ix-e3-2010/#3098674"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/dq92010-06-07-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragon-quest-ix-e3-2010/#3098675"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/dq92010-06-07-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragon-quest-ix-e3-2010/#3098676"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/dq92010-06-07-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dragon-quest-ix-e3-2010/#3098677"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/dq92010-06-07-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/27/this-week-on-the-nintendo-channel-yuji-horii-on-dragon-quest-ix/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>This Week on the Nintendo Channel: Yuji Horii on Dragon Quest IX</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/27/this-week-on-the-nintendo-channel-yuji-horii-on-dragon-quest-ix/">This Week on the Nintendo Channel: Yuji Horii on Dragon Quest IX</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Jul 2010 05:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo-channel">Nintendo Channel</a> doesn't have much for us this week. There is a new episode of Nintendo Week and some <em>Sin &amp; Punishment: Star Successor</em> tips, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/14/how-to-play-sin-and-punishment-star-successor/">you've seen the latter</a> already. If you weren't able to get to E3 this year, you've likely kept up through <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/e3">our E3 page</a> -- if not, now's the time to check it out. But perhaps you like to digest your E3 media through the television? Nothing wrong with that. This week, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo-channel">Nintendo Channel</a> is offering up all kinds of Nintendo-focused videos, including Iwata Asks segments on <em>Donkey Kong Country Returns</em>, the 3DS and even one with Warren Specter on <em>Disney Epic Mickey</em>. <br />
<br />
Then there are a flood of game-specific trailers to get through and an exclusive Nintendo roundtable on E3, plus several show floor tours of games on Nintendo platforms. Really, it's an <em>onslaught</em> of media -- head past the break for the full list of this week's content.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/22/this-week-on-the-nintendo-channel-e3-wrap-up/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>This Week on the Nintendo Channel: E3 wrap-up</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/22/this-week-on-the-nintendo-channel-e3-wrap-up/">This Week on the Nintendo Channel: E3 wrap-up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jun 2010 05:00:00 EST. Just as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/24/dragon-ball-origins-2-demo-on-nintendo-channel-next-week/">expected</a>, the highlight of this week's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo-channel">Nintendo Channel</a> update is undoubtedly the demo for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dragon-ball-origins-2"><em>Dragon Ball: Origins 2</em></a>. If you're looking for anything beyond that, you'll likely be disappointed. Aside from a new episode of <em>Nintendo Week</em>, it's slim pickings on the Nintendo Channel this week.<br />

Aside from the TV spot for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/picross-3d"><em>Picross 3D</em></a> above, there's only a handful of info videos for this week's downloads and a video of people <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/19/this-week-on-nintendo-channel-pokemon-reminiscing/">reminiscing about Pokemon</a>. There aren't even any new DS demos to check out. Come on, Nintendo -- throw us a bone! Preferably a DS demo-shaped bone ... <br />

Hot on the heels of this morning's announcement, Nintendo Week -- the weekly show documenting the content available on the DSi and Wii on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo-channel">Nintendo Channel</a> -- gets its hands on the new black Wii console. You know, the one <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/03/black-nintendo-wii-bundle-to-include-motionplus-wii-sports-reso/">coming May 9</a>? They don't show it off for long but, as you can see in the image above, we now know this: it's <em>extremely </em>glossy.<br />

It's an enlightening few minutes of footage, so check it out above.<br />

We suppose that the level of interest the game inspires could be related to your <span style="font-style: italic;">own</span> cynicism. In short, if the look of this game does <span style="font-style: italic;">nothing</span> for you, you're either too cynical or you've spent too much time playing the NES game.<br />

We've got <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/wii-fanboy-walks-you-through-the-nintendo-channel/">the goods</a> on the Nintendo Channel. We're experts. With all the killer stuff available online elsewhere around the world, Nintendo also falls into the "expert" category for having the good sense to launch the service in Australia <em>and</em> Europe. Why, it's not even <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/australia-probably-wont-be-last-to-get-brawl/">very late</a>!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/23/a-year-of-wii-the-pal-verdict/">PAL gamers</a> can now catch up on a bunch of videos and interviews they have been eagerly waiting for, including the highly-anticipated <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/wiis-nintendo-channel-ds-demos-now-available/">DS demo download</a> service, which should prove to be a hit for those tech-savvy kids and grandmas. It's a free download, so make sure to get connected and updated for the release on May 30. Like, tomorrow. Cancel all those dates, fellas!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/29/crikey-this-is-a-new-channel-this-is/">Crikey, this is a new Channel this is!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 May 2008 14:00:00 EST. So we've gone ahead and hooked up our fancy schmancy video equipment to get you this direct-feed footage of the Channel at work. Hopefully it'll help some of you determine whether or not this Channel is worth your download. Personally, we think it is.<br /><br />Watch as we check out the many informative videos available, as well as the plethora of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/wiis-nintendo-channel-ds-demos-now-available/">DS demos</a> on tap.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/wii-fanboy-walks-you-through-the-nintendo-channel/">Wii Fanboy walks you through the Nintendo Channel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 May 2008 10:30:00 EST. <span style="float: left; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 7px;"> <script> var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/Wii_Update_Nintendo_Channel'; </script> <script src="http://digg.com/api/diggthis.js"></script></span> That blue glow from our Wiis can only mean one thing -- time for an update!<br /><br />This wasn't just any old update, though. After months of coveting the service, the Nintendo Channel (known in Japan as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/27/everybodys-nintendo-channel-available-in-japan-to-sate-hungry-d/">Everybody's Nintendo Channel</a>) is finally available for download via the Wii Shop Channel. The download is free, but will take up a few blocks, so make sure you have enough space. You'll also need to have updated your Wii since March 20th in order to get it, according to Nintendo.<br /><br />We're pretty pleased with what the channel has to offer so far. There's already around forty videos available for your viewing pleasure. Most of them are just trailers for upcoming Nintendo games, but there's also a nice little <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/01/miyamoto-is-your-time-person-of-the-year/">Miyamoto</a> interview.<br /><br />Aside from watching videos, make sure to click on the "Find Titles for You" tab. Here, you can check out the newest titles for Nintendo consoles, and also <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/wiis-nintendo-channel-ds-demos-now-available/">download demos for DS games</a>.<br /><br />These are just our initial impressions from browsing around the channel, so if you notice any other neat features, be sure to let us know in the comments! Nintendo also posted a video of the various things you can do with the channel, which you can check out <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/wii/channels/nintendochannel">here</a>.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/07/nintendo-channel-now-live/">Nintendo Channel now live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 May 2008 06:30:00 EST.
