The <em>Lost Planet </em>spin-off comes out in Japan <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/01/ex-troopers-jetpacks-to-japan-on-november-22/">later this year</a>, but Capcom's senior vice-president Christian Svensson posted on the company's <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/29368353/Just_a_few_questions&amp;post_num=4#523932543">forums</a> to say a Western release isn't currently planned.<br /><br />These things do change, of course, especially when Capcom has already filed a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/02/capcom-files-trademark-for-ex-troopers/">US trademark</a> for the game. In any case, it's too early to write off a North American release for the PS3 and 3DS game just yet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/10/ex-troopers-isnt-marching-west-anytime-soon-capcom-says/">EX Troopers isn't marching west anytime soon, Capcom says</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 10 Sep 2012 11:30:00 EST. Capcom Japan published the details today along with <a href="http://andriasang.com/con2ce/ex_troopers_survival/">a few screens</a>, The mode will feature online multiplayer on PS3, and local multiplayer on 3DS. Both the 3DS and PS3 versions will support up to six players split into two teams.<br /><br />In principle it looks like a fairly standard attack/defend mode, with one team trying to obliterate the other before the timer runs out. But this is <em>EX Troopers</em> and everything we've seen so far of the game has been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/01/this-ex-troopers-trailer-isnt-banned-is-still-anime-infused-go/">anything</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/16/ex-troopers-a-lost-planet-spinoff-for-3ds-and-ps3/">but ordinary</a>.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Capcom also announced that Japanese health drink <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oronamin">Oronamin C</a> will feature in the game, along with a theme song performed by J-pop idol <a href="http://mayn.jp/">May'n</a>. That's all for Japanese players to look forward to when <em>EX Troopers</em> hits their stores on November 22, but there remains no word yet on a Western release.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/23/ex-troopers-to-feature-survival-team-based-multiplayer-mode/">EX Troopers to feature 'survival' team-based multiplayer mode</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Aug 2012 20:00:00 EST. Bren Turner is new in school, and seems to jump right into the Akrid fighting in what producer Shintaro Kojima describes as a beginners' action shooter.<br /><br />No official images have been released yet (above is <em>Lost Planet 3</em>), but expect to see a lot of this, as Capcom indicated plans to use this IP outside of games, like its other "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/18/capcom-profits-plummet-in-fiscal-2009-new-strategy-outlined/">Single Content Multiple Usage</a>" initiatives.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/16/ex-troopers-a-lost-planet-spinoff-for-3ds-and-ps3/">EX Troopers: a Lost Planet spinoff for ... 3DS and PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 May 2012 10:45:00 EST. Capcom has filed a <a href="http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&amp;state=4005:cclh4l.2.1">trademark</a> for something called "E.X. Troopers." Your initial reaction might be one of excitement, but that's because you're confusing the title with <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nRflfyievk">Exosquad</a>. It's okay, we did it too.<br />
<br />
So what exactly is <em>E.X. Troopers</em>? We can safely assume it's a game of some sort but, beyond that, it's a mystery. We're going to guess these are the kind of troopers that shoot aliens (or monsters, etc), not the kind that pull you over on the highway.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/02/capcom-files-trademark-for-ex-troopers/">Capcom files trademark for 'EX Troopers'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 02 Dec 2011 17:00:00 EST.
