Across the pond, gamers will have to wait until March 30 before they can put on some pants and head on over to the local shoppe to snag a copy.

Capcom is just on a roll with these soundtrack releases lately. Yesterday we got both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV and now the publisher has released the Flock soundtrack. It's like the company has gone completely baaaalistic. Don't feel too sheepish about downloading it either. At 46MB, it's not very ewemongous. Even better is its shear lack of cost. That's right, it's udderly free, and you can't bleat that.

It's an XBLA double puzzler this week with both Puzzle Quest Galactrix and Flock! landing on Microsoft's download service. Galactrix is a traditional puzzle game laced with the trappings of an RPG, while Flock! is more of a logic-based affair that has players herding animals into a spaceship. Both seem to be decent games and both will cost you significant scratch, with Galactrix costing $20 and Flock! clocking in at $15.

The good news: Flock and Puzzle Quest: Galactrix are both headed to Xbox Live Arcade this week. The bad news: They will cost you not only an arm, but also a leg to obtain. Flock clocks in at 1200, while Galactrix will set you back two Hamiltons (aka 1600). If you can live without a couple appendages -- what with computers doing everything these days, you probably can -- you can enjoy the space-faring successor to Puzzle Quest and ... erm ... a UFO-enabled herding sim. Herding is more fun than it sounds, trust us.

Street Fighter's Blanka is joining in on Flock's animal herding antics. Capcom confirms that the electrical Amazonian will be an unlockable in the upcoming overcute strategy game, rolling and crushing anything in his path. Check it out in the embedded video after the break!

Capcom isn't saying exactly how to get at the chartreuse brawler. However, we imagine it won't be a secret for long once Flock abducts our free time this week over Steam on April 7, XBLA on April 8 and finally PlayStation Network on April 9.

Flock's PSN release date has finally been confirmed. The game will be out the same week as its PC and Xbox 360 counterparts, although, thanks to Sony's Thursday update policy, it will be lagging a day or two behind. PS3 owners can look forward to chasing sheep, flattening crops and tipping cows on April 9th. We've been looking forward to this game ever since we first saw it at E3 last year, so we're very glad to get our hands on it soon.

Flock is drawing closer and closer to release, and to tide us wannabe UFO drivers over, Capcom has kindly sent us a new trailer. It focuses on the different seasons found in the game, but also shows us one of the game's power-ups in use, as well as the environmental interaction we've come to anticipate from the title. It's enough to get us through another overcast day.

Xbox Live figurehead Major Nelson recently updated his blog with the titillating announcement of a six-week long promotion titled the "Days of Arcade." Similar to last year's "Summer of Arcade" event, the promotion will kick off March 18 with the release of Hasbro Family Game Night, with the following five weeks bringing a number of highly anticipated titles to the Marketplace, including The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, Flock, Outrun Online Arcade, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, UNO Rush and Tozai Games' remake of Lode Runner.

Aside from Game Night, we won't know which games are coming which weeks until Major Nelson announces them on the Mondays preceeding their Wednesday releases. However, as the keen-eyed mathmaticians among you have already noticed, with seven titles dropping in six weeks, one XBLA Wednesday will bring us a double dose of downloadable distractions. We've already canceled our Spring Break excursion to Cabo San Lucas in a fit of breathless anticipation.

Capcom and Proper Games' Flock will be bringing its animal herding on PC, PSN and Xbox Live Arcade in time for April showers. That's a little later than its targeted January release, but who are we to hold a grudge?

IGN reports that Flock will release on PC on April 7, then roll out to XBLA on April 8, and will debut on PSN Thursday, April 9. No word on the title's pricing, but with the current economy and wool prices continuing to drop, we think it's in Capcom's best interest to offer it at a value-price.

Capcom has released a new Flock trailer via the PlayStation Blog. Yes, it's as adorable as you'd expect. Just in case you've forgotten they also take the time to reiterate that the game will feature over 55 levels, 2-player co-op, a level editor, trophies and custom soundtracks. Hopefully we'll be seeing the game release pretty soon.

Retro PSP fans will also be glad to hear that Ultimate Ghosts And Goblins will be released on the PSN Store this week for $19.99. Check out PSP Fanboy for the official trailer.

Capcom Europe revealed today -- and reiterated in a few cases -- the release schedule for its titles in the first quarter of 2009.
All these dates are believed to be official European release dates. We're currently awaiting Capcom US to release its own list of dates (if it even plans to do so). We'll update if anything changes.

Update: Added Capcom's North American information after the break.
Update 2: Bionic Commando will not be hitting Europe in March. The timetable is the same as the US: in the first half of '09.

Though much of his PlayStation Blog post is spent ram-bling about Tuesday's PSN release of Street Fighter II Turbo Something Something HD, John Diamonon sneaks in a quick release window for Capcom's forthcoming downloadable puzzler, Flock. Baah-ring any unforeseen delays, it seems the shear excitement will commence in January -- a good way to avoid the holiday rush, which is usually mutton but trouble for low-profile titles.

We're sure to have herd more by the time the game releases on XBLA, PSN and PC, but for now, ewe would be right in grazing an important question: How much will it cost? Unless Capcom wishes to avoid a proper lambasting, players are almost certain to get it on the sheep.

Capcom's digital offerings have been largely hit-or-miss. The wide variety of games they've made available on the PlayStation Network shows how aggressively they've been pursuing digital distribution, and their catalog is easily the most prolific and diverse of any publisher out there. Their upcoming Flock, ready for PSN in December, looks to be their best and most accessible game yet.

Flock may not have the biggest buzz around it, and that's a shame. It's a ton of fun, and comes from veteran designers of another quirky video gaming icon: Lemmings. Their upcoming PSN game features the same charm and addictive quality of Lemmings, but adds an incredible amount of current-gen polish. The visuals are surprisingly good, with the character models all lovingly animated, and the texture work incredibly detailed.

The production values go far beyond most of Capcom's other digital offerings. But beyond the impressive tech lies a heartwarming game that aims to please casual and hardcore gamers alike. The premise of the game is rather cute: you play as a UFO trying to sweep various animals into the mothership, Noah's Ark style. Levels feature a number of puzzles and hazards that dare to get in your way. For example, there may be piles of feces lying on the ground -- should one of your pigs roll into it, he'll stay there, dancing in and eating the poo. Disgusting? Yes. Cute? Yes. But, it also slows down your completion time.

Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, is a man of the people. When someone sends out a distress call, he quickly hops down from atop his mountain of unsold copies of Zack & Wiki and Okami to help out. He may not be wearing a cape and mask, but we think he's a super hero.

Why all the Sven love? Because the dude gave us hope for some more Capcom support on the Wii. When Capcom fan John voiced his concern over a lack of Bionic Commando on the Wii, Christian stepped in to let John know that Capcom won't be forgetting about the console after Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop. "We are contemplating versions of one or two of the CEI titles you've mentioned on the Wii (not saying which), but we'd like to see how they do on their initial target systems before doubling down on additional SKUs." What titles could he be referring to?

Siliconera speculates that it could be Flock, Age of Booty, Dark Void, and Street Fighter IV up for consideration, as these are Capcom Entertainment Incorporated ("CEI") projects. Flock seems like the natural choice, but we'd be lying if we said that the prospect of Dark Void or Street Fighter IV on the Wii was unappealing. That Dark Void game certainly looked cool at E3. We'd have liked to play it, but we were too busy playing games for you all.

After reading yesterday's news regarding Flock developer Proper Games and what they think about the Xbox Live Arcade's current state, we've been on the look out for new sheepy Flock media. And wouldn't you know, some newish Flock gameplay was recently(ish) released. How odd! Watch the embedded video for XBLA game Flock and be in awe of its chain reaction-like physics, pretty water and fluffy fluffed sheep launching game mechanics. Knock those sheep around!

Proper Games, the team behind the upcoming sheep herding XBLA game Flock!, is none to happy about the Xbox Live Arcade's categorization or how it's organized. And even though they're in favor of delisting under-performing XBLA titles, they don't think it's the only answer to the problem.

"Flat-out delisting perhaps isn't the solution" Proper Games CEO Paddy Sinclair told Gamesindustry.biz, adding that "I'd also like to see a way of properly categorising games - what's the most-downloaded game at the moment? What's been most bought?" Sinclair then echoed their and many other developers' fears of being lost in the XBLA mix, admitting that Flock! "could just get lost in the morass of arcade conversions" with how the current system is setup. Hopefully, the massive Fall update and a newly re-structured XBLA will solve Proper Games' and our own problems we have with the XBLA. Do it for the sheep, Microsoft, do it for the sheep.

In a nutshell, Flock is an evolved form of Lemmings: Using your ship and it's various beams, you guide sheep, chicken, cows and pigs past obstacles and into the Mother Flocker (be careful about slurring that name). The game will also feature co-op and a map editor. Although we weren't able to see either feature in action, Capcom's Kraig Kujawa told us their goal is to implement cross-console map sharing.

With no seagulls in sight, Capcom has unveiled Flock, an arcade title about herding sheep with a UFO. IGN has a preview and trailer of the game, which they describe as a Lemmings-style romp with user-generated levels, 50 stages and co-op. No release date, but it's currently in development for PC, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

A herding simulator from Capcom huh? Flock is a puzzle game built around moving farm animals around a grid style environment with a UFO. The animals you herd have effects on, and are affected by, the specific parts of the individual levels and the puzzle aspects come in from using those effects to complete your goals.

Described as similar in concept to Lemmings, Flock is going to have over 50 different stages, co-op online play, and a level editor. No word on an estimated release date.

Capcom has posted a list of titles it will be showing off at this year's E3 expo on its official blog. The roster contains the usual subjects - Bionic Commando, Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV - but, as we reported last month, the company will have a couple of surprises in store for attendees.

We now know that one of them is titled Flock, and is, as described by Capcom, a "new super-secret project." Well, it's not that secret if we know its name. Still, it's an odd name ... one that conjures up concepts such as social networking or file sharing, not games. We'd normally say it's a working title, but Capcom's update doesn't list it as such.

Its most recent E3 lineup also includes Mega Man 9 and the previously unveiled Spyborgs. Neither were on the earlier list, so either could be the second "Capcom Project #2" it teased. Or, if you're really into conspiracy theories, neither is, and there's still one secret to be revealed. We like surprises, so we're pinning our hopes on that being the case.
