While you may never get that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo-movie/"><em>Halo</em> movie</a> your parents promised you, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo-Waypoint/">Halo Waypoint</a> is doing its best to bring you all sorts of Halo goodies that are, at the very least, movie-like. First, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo-Legends/"><em>Halo Legends</em></a> anime series, then <em><a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2010/01/13/halo-motion-comic-midnight-in-the-heart-of-midlothian-coming-t/">Midnight in the Heart of Midlothian</a></em>, and now <em>Halo: The Return</em>, a four-part motion comic series based on the short story of the same name in last year's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-evolutions/"><em>Halo Evolutions</em></a> book. The first episode debuted last Saturday but will remain free to watch, only through Waypoint. We've got the trailer for this Saturday's Part 2 above, so be sure to make a note in your Master Chief-themed day planner.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/08/halo-the-return-part-2-coming-to-waypoint-exclusive-trailer/">Halo: The Return, Part 2 coming to Waypoint - exclusive trailer here</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Apr 2010 18:15:00 EST. The collection includes tales from the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo">Halo</a> </em>universe penned by series authors Eric Nylund and Thomas Buckell, as well as others by 343 Industries' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/06/interview-343-industries-frank-oconnor/">Frank O'Connor</a>, Bungie's Robt McLees, sci-fi author Karen Traviss and others. The book retails for $14.99, but it can be had for much less if you know <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Evolutions-Essential-Tales-Universe/dp/0765315734/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1259172973&amp;sr=8-1">where to look</a>.<br />

Now, just a month away from its November 24 launch, Tor Books has revealed both the book's cover art and all of the authors who will contribute to the compilation. Contributing to the book will be John Goff, Frank O'Connor and Kevin Grace of 343 Industries, as well as authors B.K Evenson, Jeff Vandermeer, Tessa Kum and Fred Van Lente. As previously announced, Eric Nylund, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/02/peek-inside-the-latest-halo-novel-the-cole-protocol/">Tobias Buckell</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/30/gears-of-war-jacintos-remnant-coming-next-month/">Karen Traviss</a> will also be penning stories for the book.<br />
<br />
Tor editor Eric Raab promises the collection will appeal to "every kind of <em>Halo</em> fan from straight up action with the Master Chief to glimpse [sic] into the Elite mindset post <em>Halo 3</em>" and will also delve into characters like Cortana, the Gravemind and Admiral Cole. One thing's for sure: If you like teabagging <em>and</em> reading, this book is for you.<br />

We know what you're thinking. "Sure, I like how much of my life is devoted to keeping track of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-legends">the</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst">different</a> <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-reach">Halo</a> </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-waypoint">properties</a>, but if there were just <em>one more</em>, just a single other thing I could add to the pile, my life would really be complete."<br /><br />Tor Books answers the call today with <em>Halo: Evolutions</em>, featuring a number of new short stories from authors like <em>Halo </em>novelists Eric Nylund and Tobias Buckell, and Karen Traviss, who wrote <em>Gears of War: Jacinto's Remnant.</em> We're assuming F.X. Nine was otherwise occupied.<br /><br />The book, which features "a wide variety of tales set across the span of the Halo universe," will arrive this November 24.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/tor-announces-halo-evolutions-story-collection/">Tor announces Halo: Evolutions story collection</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Aug 2009 17:00:00 EST.
