Humble Weekly Sale serves up Red Orchestras, Killing Floor

This week Humble Bundle is tripping over itself to give you some great deals from Tripwire, all unlockable on Steam. It's like a Steam sale, but without the risk of accidentally buying a dozen other games because they're right there and hey, that really is a great price. This week the Humble store has Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 for PC and Linux, and Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad GOTY for PC, available for $1 or more. Pay more than the average (currently less than $3) and also grab Killing Floor and some of its DLC.

As with all Humble purchases, the money goes to charities Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the developers and the Humble store itself, in whichever breakdown you choose. Each game also comes with its original soundtrack, at no extra charge. Unless you decide you want one.

The Humble Mobile Bundle sale is also live now for one more week, featuring Android games Contre Jour, Anomaly Korea, Plants vs. Zombies, Bladeslinger, locked games Metal Slug 3 and The Room, and three new additions: Funky Smugglers, Raiden Legacy and Another World. Pay more than the average to get those last five goodies.

The Potato Sack Reunion Tour kicks off on Steam today

Last April, Valve launched a guerrilla marketing effort for Portal 2 and promotion on select indie titles. This week Valve remembers its ARG campaign with the Potato Sack Reunion sale, which knocks half off the price of 13 individual indie titles.

Games include Super Meat Boy, The Ball, Cogs, Amnesia: The Dark Descent and many more. You can either buy each individually for half-off, or grab the whole bundle for $20.

Killing Floor celebrates one million murderers served with midweek sale

How does one celebrate a milestone nowadays? It's been a while since we've had time to celebrate anything, constantly minding our posts in the trenches of hard-nosed games journalism and all. Do you eat a nice meal? Partake in a round of putt-putt?

For Tripwire Interactive, the only way to celebrate is by slashing prices. The studio's co-op survival horror game, Killing Floor, is on sale for $2.99 as a result of recently selling its one millionth copy. Over the last few years, Killing Floor players have racked up 45 million hours of playtime and killed over 500 million enemies. Man, that floor must be getting stickier than a neglected cinema aisle.

You have until Thursday to take advantage of the sale.

Twisted Christmas event returns to Killing Floor, free Steam weekend starts Dec. 7

It's the Christmas season, which means it's time for everyone's favorite tradition: Killing nasty mutant freaks. Of course we're referring to Killing Floor and its "Twisted Christmas" update, which is lining up for its second year, officially making it a holiday tradition. The event brings back the holiday-themed baddies - including the Gingerbread abomination above - and introduces a new map, the Ice Cave. Players will also receive the Winter Weapon Pack and a new batch of steampunk character skins. Naughty or nice, boys and girls everywhere can check out the Twisted Christmas event in Killing Floor from December 7 through January 4.

The update is free to all Killing Floor owners and, if you'd like to sample the festivities, the game will also have a free weekend starting December 7.

Killing Floor adds 'London's Finest' DLC, discounted to $7 on Steam

As penance for scaring the bejebus out of us with its holiday update, Tripwire's Killing Floor sees its price slashed on Steam this week. From now until Thursday, December 16 at 4pm PST, you can grab the game for $7 -- 66 percent off the usual asking price.

There's also some new DLC available: London's Finest. This character pack adds four new bloody tossers (that's how you say that, right?) to the game and is available to download for $1.99 right now.

Killing Floor gets most inappropriate Christmas content ever

Games often receive Christmas content over the holidays. It's a merry season, after all, so it's only natural forOHGOD look at the evil reindeer monsters. Killing Floor's upcoming "Twisted Christmas" adds lots of disturbing Christmas content starting December 14 and ending January 14.

Players will be treated to new, horrifying Christmas monsters, a new unlockable character, some cheery new achievements and a new map, "Santa's Evil Lair." As if that wasn't enough, Team Fortress 2's Pyro is crossing over to join the festivities. Playing as the Pyro will even unlock new items for him in Team Fortress 2. Cross-platform multiplayer titles hit Steam for Mac

A new batch of games has landed on Steam for Mac. While there are several new single-player titles available, it's the new multiplayer titles that are particularly noteworthy. The reason: Multiplayer is compatible across both Mac and PC platforms. Leading the cross-platform charge is cooperative zombie murder sim Killing Floor. Two other cross-platform titles now available include Madballs in Babo: Invasion and Altitude, a 2D aerial dogfighting game.

To mark the occasion all three games are on sale, with Killing Floor priced at $13.99 (33 percent off) and both Altitude and Madballs available for $4.99 each. Plus, Altitude will be free to play this weekend. Incidentally, these sales apply to the PC versions as well.

25% off Killing Floor pre-orders on Steam, new trailer

Valve and Tripwire Interactive have announced that Killing Floor is now available for pre-order on Steam. Those who pre-order the title before its May 14 release will receive a 25% discount, knocking the price down to a cool $15.00. In addition to the pre-order announcement, a new trailer has been released showcasing the titles zombie-killing action. The game looks to combine some of our favorite shooter features, including six-player co-op and a persistent perk system. Oh, and zombies. Can't forget the zombies.

Killing Floor mod gets standalone Steam release

The popular UT 2004 mod, Killing Floor will get an upgraded, standalone release on Steam, courtesy of Tripwire Interactive. According to Voodoo Extreme, Tripwire was approached by the mod's original designer to create a port of the survival-horror shooter that would run on Red Orchestra. Tripwire decided Killing Floor could do better and offered to purchase the rights to the game and help the original team bring an upgraded version to Steam in standalone form.

Like Left 4 Dead, Killing Floor -- which originally released in 2005 -- features enemy hordes making violent rushes to halt player advancement. The game will feature six-player co-op play, nine different monster types (varying from physical predators to weapon wielding foes) and a stockpile of different weapons for players to use. Killing Floor also includes a persistent perk system allowing players to set themselves apart from other survivors with skill and ability upgrades -- something we think L4D's Louis would have loved to have, to help fight off his most traumatic attack. No release date has been announced.
