Nearly 9000 backers took Larian across the finish line, and with 17 days of the campaign left to go, eyes will turn now towards the <em>Divine Divinity </em>prequel's stretch goals.<br /><br />There are outlined stretch goals from $500,000 to $1 million, with the lower goal bringing a new area to <em>Original Sin</em>, while seven figures introduces impactful day/night and weather systems. The Divinity dev currently divines a November 2013 release date, but access to the game's alpha version, unlocked by a $150 pledge or more, is expected this summer.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/09/divinity-original-sin-ascends-past-kickstarter-goal/">Divinity: Original Sin ascends past Kickstarter goal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 09 Apr 2013 10:00:00 EST. The developer says it's hitting up Kickstarter to make the game, which was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/divinity-original-sin-is-a-prequel-to-divine-divinity-due-2013/">announced last year</a>, the best it can be.<br /><br />"There's a lot of potential in the game systems we've created so far, so we want to invest everything we can into pushing them further and unlocking their full potential," said Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke. "If we get the extra support from our fans now, I'm very confident that we'll be able to make something truly exceptional."<br /><br />The money will be used to expand the development team and increase the content found in the game. Larian is on a good track to make its goal, with (as of this writing) $164,000 pledged of a $400,000 goal and 28 days to go.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/29/divinity-comes-to-kickstarter-with-original-sin/">Divinity comes to Kickstarter with Original Sin</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 Mar 2013 13:00:00 EST. Not only is it selling new indies (and Witcher games), now the retailer has announced its first <a href="http://www.gog.com/divinity/">pay-what-you-want bundle</a>.<br /><br />The bundle, available until October 18, provides <em>Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity</em>, and <em>Divinity 2 Developer's Cut</em> for as much as you feel like paying. Provided it's at least $21 - early access to the Developer's Cut comes only at that level, and Beyond Divinity is similarly withheld for below-average payments.<br /><br />"This year Larian celebrates the 10th anniversary of our Divinity RPG series, and we're happy to partner up with GOG.com in order to put the whole collection at the mercy of our community," Larian CEO Swen Vincke said. "We've always been thankful for the unceasing support that our players have provided over the years and we'll gladly welcome any and all newcomers!"<br /><br />If you already love Divinity games and feel like paying a set price, Larian has also announced a <a href="http://www.divinityanthology.com/">Divinity Anthology box</a>, with the same games and lots of extras.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/10/pay-what-you-want-for-divinity-games-on-gog/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pay what you want for Divinity games on GOG</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/10/pay-what-you-want-for-divinity-games-on-gog/">Pay what you want for Divinity games on GOG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Oct 2012 14:00:00 EST. "The team is using backup PCs, so no issues there," Larian said in a statement issued during the show. A video montaging Larian's antics at Gamescom also captures Larian president Swen Vincke reacting to the burglary in real time.<br /><br />"How do you feel about somebody physically stealing your games?" he's asked. "I feel very bad bad about it. I feel like I've been raped actually. It wasn't only my games that were on there, there were also personal documents on there. So I hate it. I think the person should be crucified," Vincke said, clearly still upset.<br /><br />"There's very little I can do, I'll keep on smiling. I'll give $5,000 to whoever gets me my PC back," Vincke added. As of now, Larian tells us it hasn't gotten its hardware back, nor have any builds of the two stolen games surfaced online (at least that Larian's seen). Nor has Larian heard from the culprits. If you'd like to get in contact with the studio to offer information, shoot the devs an email <a href="mailto:press@larian.com?subject=Gamescom">right here</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/22/larian-studios-gamescom-still-a-success-despite-having-two-pcs/">Larian Studios' Gamescom still a success despite having two PCs stolen</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 22 Aug 2012 14:30:00 EST. The developers of Larian Studios told us last year at Gamescom they'd created a board game to test out <em>Dragon Commander</em>'s strategy mechanics, and it turns out they want to share that creation with hardcore fans of the Divinity universe.<br /><br />The prototype is currently at the Larian booth at Gamescom in a very basic form. The company is currently looking for a company to manufacture the final product. The main hiccup they've run into is that there are a lot of little plastic pieces and the cost of plastic is <em>expensive</em>. The real-time strategy meets RISK meets jetpack dragon shooter will be available on PC in March 2013.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/17/dragon-commander-special-edition-to-include-board-game/">Dragon Commander special edition to include board game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Aug 2012 08:00:00 EST. Larian sent a press release out, seeking information on the whereabouts of the PCs and the alleged jerks who did it. To that end, the developer is offering a $5000 reward.<br /><br />"The team is using backup PCs, so no issues there," Larian reports. This is all reminiscent of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/30/breach-game-code-theft-at-pax-east-ends-in-arrest/">PAX 2010</a>, when a thief attempted to copy early code for the game <em>Breach</em> from one of Atomic Studios' computers. Due out in the first quarter of 2013, <em>Original Sin</em> will serve as a prequel to <em>Divine Divinity</em>, feature two main playable characters in turn-based combat, and come with co-op multiplayer and an adventure building kit that players can use to create and share content online. The game will arrive on PC and Mac.<br /> <br /> You can see more about the title <a href="http://www.divinityoriginalsin.com/">on the official site</a>, or browse through the gallery of screenshots below. Larian will be showing off <em>Original Sin</em> and <em>Dragon Commander</em> (another upcoming <em>Divinity</em>-based title) at E3 this year, so we'll see them up close in about a week.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-original-sin-5-29-2012/">Divinity: Original Sin (5/29/2012)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-original-sin-5-29-2012/#5053063"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/divinityos001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-original-sin-5-29-2012/#5053064"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/divinityos002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-original-sin-5-29-2012/#5053065"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/divinityos003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-original-sin-5-29-2012/#5053066"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/divinityos004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-original-sin-5-29-2012/#5053067"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/divinityos005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/divinity-original-sin-is-a-prequel-to-divine-divinity-due-2013/">Divinity: Original Sin is a prequel to Divine Divinity, due 2013</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 May 2012 23:00:00 EST. Atlus has added a 52-page art book pre-order bonus to its considerably hefty version of <em>Divinity 2, </em>dubbed<em> <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/divinity-2-the-dragon-knight-saga">The Dragon Knight Saga</a></em>, in addition to the soundtrack CD that comes with all first run copies of this re-release. The pre-order promotion is listed on <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga/89919">GameStop</a> and <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Divinity-II-Dragon-Soundtrack-Xbox-360/dp/B004JHJHCC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1301344159&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon</a>, though Atlus tells Joystiq that the offer should be available at most major retailers. You can check out a sample of the art book's content <a href="http://issuu.com/atlususa/docs/divinity2">right here</a>.<br />
<br />
A new trailer -- for this 2009 game and its bundled expansion -- has also been released, which we've posted after the break. The clip showcases both knights <em>and</em> dragons. Go figure.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/28/atlus-reveals-pre-order-goodies-new-trailer-for-divinity-2-re-r/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Atlus reveals pre-order goodies, new trailer for Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga [update]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/28/atlus-reveals-pre-order-goodies-new-trailer-for-divinity-2-re-r/">Atlus reveals pre-order goodies, new trailer for Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Mar 2011 17:30:00 EST. <br />
Now that it's an Atlus game, <em>Divinity</em> fans will be able to get some "Spoils." Each copy of the game printed for the April 12 launch will include a soundtrack CD. If you're not a fan of the open-world action RPG series, perhaps it would interest you to know that the "Dragon Knight" in the title, who is the player character, is not a knight who fights dragons, but rather a knight <em>who is also a dragon</em>. <br />
<br />
Actually, he fights dragons too.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga-xbox-360/">Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga (Xbox 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga-xbox-360/#3815860"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/divinity2box12501_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga-xbox-360/#3815861"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/divinity2saga12501_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga-xbox-360/#3815862"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/divinity2saga12502_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga-xbox-360/#3815863"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/divinity2saga12503_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga-xbox-360/#3815864"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/divinity2saga12504_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/25/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Atlus picks up Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga for Xbox 360</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/25/divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga/">Atlus picks up Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga for Xbox 360</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Jan 2011 11:00:00 EST. If you just so happen to be the square wheel that couldn't get enough of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/divinity-2"><em>Divinity II: Ego Draconis</em></a> last year, you're in luck. Publisher dtp entertainment has announced that an add-on will be released later this year, adding more than 30 brand new quests and about 15 hours of gameplay to the RPG. <em>Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance</em> will see release on the PC and through the Xbox Live Marketplace, and will update the game's world of Rivellon a completely revamped engine (for graphical and performance upgrades) as well as new updates on characters familiar to players of the first game.<br />
<br />
There's no price yet, but it is targeted for a release in August 2010. In the meantime, you can browse the gallery below to see early screenshots of the add-on. Commenters have been saying to us that this game suffers from more than its share of bugs and issues, so maybe an engine revamp will help smooth that out.<br />

Or any <em>dragons</em>, for that matter. What you <em>do</em> get for putting your money down on a copy of the Xbox 360 sequel to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_Divinity"><em>Divine Divinity</em></a> is some exclusive in-game armor and armaments, representing the Blood Echelon, "a select lodge of elite Dragon Slayers who have earned the highest of distinctions on the battlefield." <br />

Both online and in-store pre-orderers will be entitled to look like they're in the Blood Echelon when they freely roam around <em>Divinity II</em>'s landscapes, reading minds.
