How do you make a full sequel to a game that's already had a sequel's worth of free content updates? Media Molecule appears to have expanded its game-making engine significantly. For example, it is now possible to add AI characters called "Sackbots," with behavior you can record or define.

Levels can also be bundled to make a whole game, and those games don't have to be platformers. The trailer above gives us brief looks at racing games (one of which appears to involve players riding mice) and a Space Invaders-style shooter. You can even open use a "Direct Control Seat" to alter controls, allowing you to control objects that are not Sackboy, "and make a game that doesn't even remotely resemble" Media Molecule's foundation.

This sequel will even, in a way, act as yet another upgrade to the original: all of the two-million-plus LittleBigPlanet 1 levels will still work.

LittleBigPlanet 2 will be out on PlayStation 3 in Winter 2010.
LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer falls to Earth originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 10 May 2010 09:30:00 EST. Let's go back a couple of years, to E3 2008. At the Microsoft Press Conference, the company drops the news that Square Enix has agreed to release Final Fantasy XIII simultaneously on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. There is much cheering and/or weeping and gnashing of teeth, depending on which side of the console wars you are on.

Two years later, in April of 2010: Final Fantasy XIII is released on both consoles simultaneously. And the most recent NPD report says that while the Xbox 360 version sold a respectable 493,000 copies, the PS3 version sold 828,000 copies -- almost twice as many.

We'll let you guys sort that one out for yourselves. Do remember where the consoles were at in both places -- back in 2008, the Xbox 360 had an early lead on big software (LittleBigPlanet was Sony's biggest game of the show), and these days, PS3 sales are doing much better. But we will say that, according to NPD analyst Anita Frazier, this is Final Fantasy's biggest launch ever, and that XIII has topped the first-month sales of XII by 48%. That's a lot of l'Cie.
NPD: Final Fantasy XIII sold almost twice as many copies on PS3 originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 15 Apr 2010 19:20:00 EST. Across the Atlantic, the folks at Fase Extra got their hands on Sony's PSP Go and a couple of games recently -- LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo, specifically. Lucky for us, Sony Spain allowed them to grab some video of each game, that we've now conveniently dropped for you after the break.

Here's the thing: We've got another three months or so until the release of PSP Go, and, ya know, it's really pretty. So, while entertaining, these videos do little more for us than tantalize our already over-tantalized mind grapes. Thankfully though, three months should be plenty of time to put away, um, a lot of extra change for the $250 handheld.
Continue reading LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo in action on the PSP Go

LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo in action on the PSP Go originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 18 Jul 2009 11:30:00 EST. It wasn't all sequels and plugged leaks at Sony's E3 press conference. Sony also announced a new PlayStation 3 franchise called ModNation Racers, the latest in the company's Play.Create.Share lineup popularized by LittleBigPlanet. The game looks to strap LBP's overcute style and love of physics into kart racing that, according to Sony, will let players express themselves and become "superstar designers" by sharing tracks, karts and characters over the PlayStation Network.
ModNation Racers, like LittleBigPlanet on wheels originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 02 Jun 2009 15:52:00 EST.
It's been another busy month for Maggie Wang, expert craftswoman and friend to Sackboys. SackBoy plushies have been the object of desire for LittleBigPlanet fans for a very long time now; however, such a prized possession has yet to be made commercially available -- until now, that is. Japan is getting the official SackBoy squeeze toys this month and they're already available for purchase off Play-Asia.

Currently, the online retailer carries four versions of SackBoy: Normal, Pirate, Soldier and Sunflower. They're the 4" dolls we've reported on before, and they're actually cheaper than we thought at the price of $9.90. Import them today, or just wait for those North American plushies that we know are coming.
SackBoy plushies available now on Play-Asia originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 02 Dec 2008 08:00:00 EST. We're on the lookout for awesome LittleBigPlanet levels for an upcoming feature. We're doing our best to scour the community levels to find the cream of the crop, but we need your help. If you've made a level you think is particularly great or if you've played any that blew you away, let us know. We'll be doing a weekly rundown of the top five levels, so keep sending them in as you find them from now on.

There are no restrictions; no minimum hearts or views and we don't mind mind levels based on other games, but anything you send in has to be awesome. Send your nominations to us via the following address: LBP @ PS3Fanboy.com with the name of the level in the subject line. We'll credit everyone whose suggestions we use.
Top 5 LBP levels of the week: a call for nominations originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 10 Nov 2008 14:00:00 EST. If you've put countless hours into crafting a level in Media Molecule's uber-customizable platformer, you know how terrifying that headline really is -- LittleBigPlanet forums across the web are erupting with angry amateur level designers whose creations were 'moderated' (see: deleted) without explanation or forewarning. You read that right -- the levels aren't being removed from your list of published, downloadable creations. They are being deleted. Permanently. Forever. Gone.

Affected parties have noticed that the moderations have erased levels which mention (to varying degrees) copyrighted IPs. For instance, that remarkable God of War level that everyone probably played during beta? It is no more. The gaggle of Super Mario Bros. reimaginings? Yeah, those are gone too. Our personal favorite -- a level titled "Failure to Launch" was deleted, supposedly for using the title of a 2006 McConnaughey-infused romantic comedy. Sadly, our very own magnum opus also fell beneath the axe -- yes, "Maid in Manhattan" is gone, and no amount of protest will bring it back.

Moderators of the engulfed LBP forums have promised to implement a stronger feedback system to explain why levels are disappearing -- though their unwavering stance on copyrighted content has officially been displayed. Our lesson has certainly been learned -- we'll be keeping our rom-com-based creations to ourselves from now on.

[Via Kotaku]
LittleBigPlanet levels being deleted with no warning or explanation originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 09 Nov 2008 14:00:00 EST. It appears there has been a bit of a controversy over the recent changes to the PSN Terms of Service with regard to user-generated content, which seems to be at least in part tied to the release of the Sackboy epic Little Big Planet. Of course, user-created content is nothing new, and neither is the management of the licenses associated with that content. However, it seems like as good a time as ever to discuss the issue of managing the intellectual property rights of user created content and what that can mean for you, the user, and them, the game companies.

I guess we should get back to basics, though I'll skip the intellectual property primer this time around. When users create content for games, they're creating intellectual property that would likely qualify as a derivative work. After all, what good is the content outside of the game? Some types of mods are more derivative than others, depending on how much is taken from the original work. But the point remains, it's at some level a derivative work. In this case, however, there is at least an implicit authorization for the user to create the work based on the virtue of the developer giving the user the tools to do so. In this way, we're not dealing with a situation identical to, say, machinima.
Continue reading LGJ: User Content Creation Crisis

LGJ: User Content Creation Crisis originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 03 Nov 2008 19:00:00 EST. Little Big Planet captured players' hearts and free time with its unmistakable mix of ingenuity and cute. Now it appears that Microsoft has its own plan to tap into players' creative wellspring with Boku, a new XNA project billed by The Seattle Times blog as a "visual programming language for kids." Hello World.

Following a previous demonstration of the project in 2007, Boku was officially unveiled this week by project lead Matthew MacLaurin during Microsoft's Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles. The effort looks to build upon Microsoft's ongoing work with the more complicated XNA Game Studio, allowing players to program their own games using a more inviting set of icon-driven instructions on either the PC or Xbox 360. Sort of makes us want to go back and revisit Carnage Heart.

No official release date has been announced yet, though MacLaurin noted during his presentation that players will be able to start playing with Boku sometime "early next year." Until then, check out a video of it in motion after the break.

[Via Gamasutra]

Almost two years ago, during my vigil outside the Sony Wonder Technology Lab in New York City, I awaited the chance to buy a PS3. At that time, I wasn't thinking about a game like LittleBigPlanet. In terms of future titles, my friends and I were anticipating the next Final Fantasy, the next Gran Turismo or the next Tekken. None of us knew that a game like LBP was poised to become what Sony expects to be the biggest PS3 game ever. Naturally one would want to know; does it live up to the hype?

Continue reading PS3 Fanboy review: LittleBigPlanet

PS3 Fanboy review: LittleBigPlanet originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 28 Oct 2008 09:00:00 EST. A quick search on YouTube reveals videos like the one above, which centers (perhaps justifiably) on the Red Ring of Death. There may be more of these anti-360 levels out there. We don't know and, quite frankly, don't care. What we do care about is a pro-360 level sent to us by a reader. We like it for its panache, creativity and, particularly, its toilet humor. ... and by worst we mean "with as little taste as humanly possible" -- but first the best LittleBigPlanet level. A PSN user named Upsilandre, whose brain is at least thrice the size of ours, has created an "electronic" (i.e. not mechanical) 8-bit calculator capable of adding and subtracting any double-digit number. In the video after the break, you see both how to interact with the level and how the whole thing works (spoiler: It's nearly maxes out the complexity meter). It's a shame to think this might disappear once the beta is over.

As for the other video -- and please don't let this take away from your awe at the above calculator -- file this under the "unfortunate but bound to happen" category. A couple levels have popped up on the beta based on the September 11 attacks. Remember, folks, you can report offensive levels in-game for Media Molecule to promptly slam. GoodEvilPlanet officially launches October 21.

[Thanks to everyone who sent these in]
Continue reading GoodEvilPlanet: The best and worst levels we've seen so far

GoodEvilPlanet: The best and worst levels we've seen so far originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 07 Oct 2008 11:30:00 EST. LittleBigReleaseDates! We've received a press release stating that LittleBigPlanet will be released in the UK on October 24th. We're not sure whether the rest of Europe will be receiving it on the 29th or not, but the UK will definitely be able to get their hands on the game five days ahead of the date announced at Leipzig. If you want it before then, however, you'll need to be on the other side of the Atlantic. North Americans will be getting their LittleBigMits on the game three days before that, on the 21st. Not exactly simultaneous, but close enough. LittleBigPlanet is (finally!) almost out.

[Via Press Release]
LittleBigPlanet brought forward to Oct 24th in UK, 21st in US originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 16 Sep 2008 12:45:00 EST. Despite a well-documented obsession with LittleBigPlanet and its emphasis on user-generated content, our skills pretty much begin and end with penis-themed level design. This is probably why Sony has tapped New York's Parsons The New School For Design and not us to host a LittleBigPlanet level-making competition.

The event, taking place in New York City from September 21-22, aims to pit 120 students in teams of five against each other over a 24-hour period in order to see which group can create the best custom level as judged by developer Media Molecule, as well as members of the media and Parsons faculty. Winners will see their creation make it into LittleBigPlanet as "a specially branded Parsons section" of the game. We can't wait to see what comes out of the competition. As for the penis levels, that's something best left to the masters.
Parsons hosting LittleBigPlanet level making marathon originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 11 Sep 2008 20:00:00 EST. But they aren't entirely anti-360, admitting that the console is an "incredibly capable machine" that, theoretically, could be home to LBP, "but it'd be a different game." Ouch! And all along we were under the impression that LBP could eventually release to the Xbox Live Arcade way under the 150MB Arcade limit. Joystiq's Leipzig coverage continues with an interview with LittleBigPlanet developer Jim Unwin and producer Pete Smith. They discuss the game's humble beginnings at GDC 2007, post-launch add-on content and ... did he just say "we could brick someone's PS3"? LittleBigPlanet is shaping up to be the game everyone is hoping for and we're getting hyped all over again. Just over two months to go and it'll be in our grubby little paws. Make sure you check out the full interview for yourselves.
Joystiq has a LittleBigChat at Leipzig originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 27 Aug 2008 10:30:00 EST. The LittleBigPlanet breakdown session was a little different than most. We've been seeing the game at every trade show since it was revealed at GDC 2007. As a result, the session took a more informal Q&A approach, rather than a showcase for the game's features.

Those present - producer Pete Smith and interface designer Jim Unwin - did start off by volunteering some information: Firstly, the game is finished and pretty much ready to go. The European release date has been finalized as October 29th, with other regions to be confirmed later. Barring unforeseen circumstances there's no reason at all why this game shouldn't ship in time.

We were also told that when LittleBigPlanet was first shown at GDC, Media Molecule had only about five members. As much as the presentation at GDC was a glimpse into the PS3's future, it was also a hiring pitch. Media Molecule was looking for new members in order to work on this incredibly ambitious project. The level shown at GDC was the entirety of LittleBigPlanet up until that point. In fact, they hadn't even finalized the name until a few days before.

Gallery: LittleBigPlanet

Continue reading Joystiq interview: LittleBigPlanet's Pete Smith and Jim Unwin

Joystiq interview: LittleBigPlanet's Pete Smith and Jim Unwin originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 27 Aug 2008 08:00:00 EST. Chalk this one up as a LittleBigWin for LittleBigPlanet fans. A Sony representative has posted on the official European PlayStation forums to clarify the region locking issue, stating that "there will only be one region for the game.... a LittleBigRegion."

"The confusion arose out of regional differences in how moderation will work as there are different legal rules each region have to play by, and at one point this looked like it may require the game to be independent in each region". Thankfully, this was unnecessary in the end. So you can stop fretting now; your level creations will be playable worldwide and, perhaps more importantly, we're going to have a huge selection of content from all different cultures to play with soon after launch. Europe, rejoice! You're not being left out in the cold. Those amazing LittleBigPlanet preorder bonuses will be available on both sides of the Atlantic. So far, we've spotted Nariko hanging out over at Play.com, but there's no sign of any of the others. At least, not yet. The Nariko Sackgirl (who is actually a Sackboy playing dress up, but don't let that put you off) is downloadable via the PlayStation Network. Instructions will be sent out during the week of release, according to Play.com, so don't expect to be playing with your new heavenly pal on launch day.

Now, where's that Kratos Sackboy got to? We're sure he's hiding around here somewhere.
Nariko Sackgirl is Play.com's LittleBigPlanet preorder bonus originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 23 Aug 2008 08:00:00 EST. Last week, we reported on the various pre-order goodies for LittleBigPlanet. We now know the identity of two of the retailers you can pre-order from in order to obtain their respective bonus. If you place your order with Amazon now, you will receive a Brady Games miniguide which is "a primer for LittleBigPlanet's CREATE tools and provides users with a quick tutorial to begin developing their own levels." Click here if you want to pre-order with them.

If you pre-order from GameStop, you will receive the exclusive (in North America) Kratos Sackboy costume set. Keep in mind Kratos is an in-game object that will be downloadable via a promotional code on a voucher. The costume set consists of four individual in-game items: signature Kratos skin, goatee, Blades of Athena and Kratos garments. These items are inter-changeable with your costume inventory so you can place the Kratos goatee or Blades of Athena on any Sackboy or Sackgirl. Head over to GameStop now if you want to take advantage of this.

No word yet on which retailer to pre-order from to get the LittleBigPouch, LittleBigStickerBook or Nariko Sackgirl costume set, so stay tuned if you are interested in those bonuses.

Amazon and Gamestop LittleBigPlanet pre-order details originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 12 Aug 2008 09:00:00 EST.
A LittleBigPlanet news site has just launched. With the game's release date of October approaching soon, the site aims to "keep you informed, educated and hopefully excited about" LittleBigPlanet. Two blog entries are the only real content on the site at the moment; one welcoming visitors and another listing the honors LittleBigPlanet has received so far, including an honor we bestowed upon it. You can even be creative and customize the website with 27 stickers by clicking on the sackboy in the upper right corner of the site. Check it out here.

When it comes to LittleBigPlanet, we're a spoiled bunch. Not only will the game feature a full story mode, as well as a level editor, which is playable online with up to three of your friends, but now there are a set of pre-order bonus goodies which have our minds reeling from the choice. From the looks of things, these five bonus items will be available from separate retailers. More details on the how, whys and wherefores are yet to come, but what we do know is that choosing between any of them is going to be incredibly difficult.

First up are three physical items relating to the game. A "LittleBigPlanet Creator miniguide" from BradyGames, a sticker book and a burlap sack to keep your game box safe inside. We don't like to think how many Sackboys were killed to make each one, but we're still desperate to get our hands on it. Additionally, there are two downloadable bonuses in the form of Kratos (from God of War) and Nariko (from Heavenly Sword) in Sackboy form.

You can see KratosBoy above, and can find images of all the bonus items on the PlayStation Blog. It all looks so awesome, how could we possibly choose? It looks like we'll be preordering multiple copies of this one ...

ConfusedCartman over at LittleBigPlanet Central got some decent game time in (1.5 hours split up into five 15-20 minute intervals) with the upcoming PS3 exclusive over at Comic Con. There's a whole heap of information on LittleBigPlanet: character customization (Tron suits, Killzone helmets, stickers and magic wands!), the level editor (menu setup, vehicles, event triggers and how to set things on fire!), emoting (SIXAXIS controls your head and hips, leading to hula dancing!) and a level called the Construction Yard ("I stood on the sponge with a friend while another guy dragged it across, and right before we got there I slapped my friend off so I could have the stuff to myself."). ConfusedCartman even filmed a part of the tutorial level for us, after the jump. Or check out the entire article here.

In this infuriatingly cute trailer (yes, we're so bombarded by cuteness we're angry) you see the regular sackboy dreaming about becoming a knight rescuing his princess. It's another trailer showing how free you are to create your worlds and this is another success in our eyes, even if sackboy doesn't get his kiss.
The LittleBigPlanet website just went live! And it's adorable too! You have Sackboy asking you to choose what country you are located to start. That brings us to our planet and the moon, where you can choose between Game Info and Downloads. The music sounds a bit like an old-school dot-matrix printer though ...

Under Downloads you can check out wallpapers and trailers for your PC or PSP. Under Info there's some good information on the game, but nothing new if you've been following the game closely like we have. There's also trailers you can watch directly online. Not much yet, but more is sure to come as the game inches closer to its release date later this year.

[Thanks, Danny and Jay!]

Don't panic, but famed British comedian and noted Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy voice (he's done the audio books and narrated the movie) Stephen Fry will provide narration for LittleBigPlanet. Media Molecule's Alex Evans made the announcement during a press briefing for the game, although he had the TV muted at the time. Seems fitting for when we make our whole sort of general mishmash.
Don't Panic! Following a LittleBigPlanet press briefing, we had a chance to ask Media Molecule's Alex Evans about their participation in Sony's E3 2008 press conference. (In case you missed it, a LBP level was made for the company's power point slides. We've embedded video of the level above.) According to Evans, SCEA approached the dev two days before their press conference. They spent the first day making the level and the second day tweaking.

We're hoping this sets a precedent for all future press conferences. Rare, we're looking at you to show how Banjo can make Xbox sales data fun.
LittleBigPlanet dev made Sony presentation in 2 days for SCEA originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 16 Jul 2008 18:15:00 EST. We admit that we have an obsession with Little Big Planet, bordering on addiction. It's something with which we're trying our best to cope, a therapy helped somewhat by Media Molecule co-founder and technical guru David Smith. We like to think of his recent interview with Eurogamer as a kind of patch, letting information seep into our bloodstreams, taking the edge off as we pine for the game's October release.

Among the number of topics discussed, Smith spoke out in support of the game's beta testing, something he noted as being "in progress," and -- contrary to earlier reports -- that "it should gradually grow to include more people." In addition, with the recent addition of Trophies, he stated that the team is "having a lot of fun working out what trophies most fit" Little Big Planet, teasing that one will involve "making your sackperson be thrown at some huge velocity." Check out the full interview for more words strung together about Little Big Planet. We'll be quietly twitching in the corner.
Little Big Planet beta growing, Trophies teased originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 03 Jul 2008 12:00:00 EST. Its release date is still far off, but Gamespot took the time to question Media Molecule, the developers, on its progress. Let's listen in with our handy-dandy summary goggles.

There are interesting parallels between the Media Molecule office and LittleBigPlanet -- both have co-op and versus modes, both have dark sides, and both are totally awesome. They feel the game could have existed and risen in popularity even without user-generated content. They want to enforce that concept: they pitched the gameplay mechanics and tactical elements to Sony. The user-generated idea wasn't the focus. It's a fun game where building stuff yourself is merely an option and not a necessity.

Still, they hope what users create is as professional or better than what they ship with the game. Those kinds of talents are in every game with user-generated content, after all. In fact, if people find ways to exploits the creation tools Media Molecule provides in interesting ways, they'll promote it. On the flipside, offensive or poor content will get rated down, similar to our own website's comment system where the "rubbish" simply fades away, while the good remains. We look forward to hearing more as the game draws closer to release.
LittleBigPlanet devs will 'support' interesting tool exploits originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 15 May 2008 01:15:00 EST. We had the opportunity to speak at length with various LittleBigPlanet producers at PlayStation Day, as well as get some hands-on time with the title. Top of our discussion list was the beta. We wanted to know as much as possible about when it's coming and have done since it was implied last July. However both Sam Bennett (Community Development Manager) and Pete Smith (Producer) maintained that a public, open beta will sadly not be happening. The game will go through a beta phase, obviously, but this will be performed by an internal group at Sony.

There's a possibility of a small number of gamers and press being invited into the beta phase, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Releasing the game in its entirety to the public, free of charge would be suicide. Instead, there's talk of a demo being made available, which will curb our monstrous hunger pangs for the game until its October release. What the demo will contain and when it will arrive is still being discussed.

Check out our gallery below for some new images of LittleBigPlanet straight from PlayStation Day. Also be sure to check out the video of the cute-but-ghastly Helghast Sackboys.

LittleBigPlanet open beta will never happen originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 08 May 2008 09:30:00 EST. Sony is growing quite hesitant to pin a date down for the game's beta and has opted instead to focus on the September release date. It isn't that there won't be a beta, but a Sony spokesperson at SCEE said "we haven't yet made any announcements as to the dates of the LittleBigPlanet beta trials, and are not yet able to confirm a specific month." If it's not so much a beta but more of a trial, then we wouldn't expect it to hit until August. That's just a shot in the dark, though.
Sony shying away from dating the LittleBigPlanet beta originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 02 May 2008 11:00:00 EST. Sony announced today that SingStar for PS3 will finally cross the Atlantic on May 20. That little bit of information was buried deep inside a press release about Sony America's presence at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

Coachella revellers will have the opportunity to try out SingStar and upload their embarrassing renditions of songs to the intertubes, that is, if they're not too busy viewing demos of Little Big Planet and playing some Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Sony America will also host the "TMO Tone Def Party and SingStar Lounge" on Saturday night.
SingStar PS3 screams into North America May 20, playable at Coachella festival originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 25 Apr 2008 14:58:00 EST. It's been a while since we saw our cute, unofficial Sony mascots playing around in their sandbox of a world, so here we are with a new video of just that. There's some new stuff in here, but it's predominantly footage we've seen. The level design at the one-minute mark is especially awesome. We do get a nice bit of narrative from the developers behind the game, but it only further enhances our desire to get this game in our hands. Hopefully they'll stick to their September release date!
LittleBigPlanet will "evolve over time" originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 15 Apr 2008 16:00:00 EST. It seems that CVG has been informed by an insider that the upcoming PS3 cute-em-up LittleBigPlanet is also in development for the PSP. Apparently Studio Liverpool, of WipEout fame, are managing the creation of the PSP version. That's all the information that's available, unfortunately -- and we don't have any idea how true it is, at that.

A PSP version of LittleBigPlanet could only be a good thing, in our opinion. Whether it's a shrunken down version of its PS3 cousin or simply a portable version of some of the content creation features, being able to interact with the LBP universe away from your PS3 would be awesome. If it's true. Hopefully we'll hear more about both the PS3 and PSP versions at some point soon. Nothing's been said about the game for a little while and the suspense is killing us.
Rumor: LittleBigPlanet in development for PSP originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 08 Apr 2008 10:30:00 EST. According to VideoGamer.com, who've apparently gotten hold of a Sony UK release schedule, three big PS3 exclusives will be releasing this coming Fall in the British Isles. Killzone 2 and LittleBigPlanet should show up on our beloved console sometime in September, while Resistance 2 caps the trifecta for an expected November release. Sony confirmed that these dates are correct.

Great. Now, we just need to wait for SCEA to give us the heads up on these games and their release dates over here across the Atlantic. Hopefully, North American dates won't be any different. If these games do continue on schedule and actually get released by Fall, then it's safe to say that PS3 owners will be very happy gamers indeed.

[Via Joystiq]
Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, gets UK release window originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 26 Mar 2008 15:45:00 EST. What does this mean? They say that "basically this means all the cool stuff we said will be in there should be playable, even if it isn't pretty enough to release." Well, the last known release date for the game is September. Making the game look pretty shouldn't take all that long, right? Perhaps this is one release date that will stick. We'll find out!

[via Eurogamer]
LittleBigPlanet hitting Alpha stage soon originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 20 Mar 2008 14:30:00 EST.
