We guess Duke's ride wasn't <em>too</em> shot up, as he's making his way over to Android. Tapjoy and MachineWorks NorthWest have teamed up to bring the original classic, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/duke-nukem-3d/"><em>Duke Nukem 3D</em></a>, to the Android Marketplace starting "very soon."<br />
<br />
It's all part of the Tapjoy Android Fund, an initiative started to bring "top-quality mobile games and applications" to the Android platform.<span style="font-style: italic;"> Duke Nukem 3D</span> on Android is a port of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/11/duke-nukem-3d-on-iphone-forever/">the iOS version</a>, and will be compatible with Android phones and tablet devices running version 2.1 and up.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/12/duke-nukem-3d-gets-some-on-android/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Duke Nukem 3D gets some on Android</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/12/duke-nukem-3d-gets-some-on-android/">Duke Nukem 3D gets some on Android</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Oct 2011 02:45:00 EST. The <em>Guitar Hero</em> series touched many people, and not just by strapping plastic guitars to them. As the series reached its absurd heights of success, it caused more game developers to enter into the service of note charts and extreme rocker-dude 3D models.<br />
<br />
And now that Activision has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/09/report-activision-axing-guitar-hero-and-true-crime-freestyle-g/">stopped production</a> on the <em>Guitar Hero</em> series and closed that business unit, we can look back at how it affected the people who made it -- the companies who either moved on or were chewed up and spat out by the <em>Guitar Hero</em> monster.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/23/heroic-sacrifices-the-companies-behind-guitar-hero/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Heroic sacrifices: The companies behind Guitar Hero</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/23/heroic-sacrifices-the-companies-behind-guitar-hero/">Heroic sacrifices: The companies behind Guitar Hero</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Feb 2011 15:00:00 EST. <em>Duke Nukem 3D</em> has found another revenue stream, this time on the iPhone as the seminal FPS shoots onto the App Store for $2.99 -- as part of a "one day special launch sale." We're not sure what the normal price would be, but with <em>Civilization Revolution</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/10/impressions-civilization-revolution-on-iphone/">launching yesterday at $4.99</a>, Duke's adventure from 13 years ago had better not ask for much more.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://appgamer.net/news/2009/aug/11/duke-nukem-3d-out-and-cheap-24-hours/">AppGamer</a> notes that initial feedback on the title has been positive, though there's no "lite" version to test out. The game has the "thumb-stick style controls," but also comes with "slider-style controls." If you've already played this on your morning commute, be sure to share your opinion in the comments below!<br />

That's right, everyone's favorite ass kicker and bubble gum enthusiast is making a new home on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@iphone">iPhone</a>, as <a href="http://uk.wireless.ign.com/articles/100/1001274p1.html">IGN</a> reports 3D Realms' superb FPS, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/duke-nukem-3d"><em>Duke Nukem 3D</em></a>, will be available on the iPhone App store soon. Ported by Machineworks Northwest, this direct PC port will feature the entire original game, so you'll be able to tip those working girls and relieve yourself in the game's many bathrooms soon enough. <br /><br />After spending some time with a preview build, IGN had nothing but good things to say, especially about the improved graphics. IGN didn't knock the controls, either, and said there will be two options: tap-to-shoot and a classic scheme. There's no word on when the game will be available on the App store, but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as it is.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/07/duke-nukem-to-make-those-aliens-pay-for-shooting-up-his-ride-on/">Duke Nukem to make those aliens pay for shooting up his ride on iPhone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Jul 2009 10:30:00 EST.
