The 15-inch figure, shipping in the second quarter of 2011, is available to order in two options: a $330 "regular" edition or a $350 "exclusive" edition, which adds a light-up feature to Midna's hair.<br />
<br />
If you pre-order a statue before January 1, you can get it a <em>little</em> cheaper. A <a href="https://www.first4figures.com/newsletters/52a078249c49716e390f5f7b5be5a54a-nl14.htm">F4F newsletter</a> on the topic features pre-order coupon codes good for $25 off the regular version or $30 off the "exclusive" glowy one. If you use a coupon, you can also maybe convince yourself that you're being thrifty when buying a $300-plus toy.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/02/first-4-figures-reveals-wolf-link-and-midna-statue/">First 4 Figures reveals Wolf Link and Midna statue</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 Dec 2010 03:00:00 EST. Etsy user <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=2839">inhope</a> has crafted a work of art. We say that not only because her <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vt_related_1&amp;listing_id=23616706">enormous NES controller purse</a> is aesthetically <em>dreamy</em>, but because we couldn't possibly imagine bringing it into the wild and reckless life we lead without worrying it'd be destroyed. <br /><br />$39.99 nets you this beast of a bag that'll go perfectly with your <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/29/now-youre-adorning-your-earlobes-with-power/">NES-themed earrings</a> and that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/midna-rosalina-expertly-cosplayed-by-nintendo-convert/">Midna cosplay outfit</a> you've been dying to break out again. If someone suggested the notion of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/twilight-princess">Link and Midna</a> cosplay to you -- wolf Link, that is -- you'd probably think Midna would be the more lifelike one of the pair, yes? Not this time, buddy. No, while this little Midna is great, down to the details and the little legs, it's the wolf who really shines ... especially when you get to the video after the break.<br /><br />But we'll give you a hint: there's a person in there. <em>Wolf Link is made of people</em>.<br /><br />deviantARTist LilleahWest calls this pair of costumes a work in progress, but if it gets much more accurate, we're not sure we can handle it. Also? This wolfsuit was made in only twelve days. That's dedication.<br /><br />

Did you know that some people really like Nintendo games? It's <em>true!</em> Some people express their fandom by writing about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/24/target-terror-anubis-ii-prices-slashed-to-reflect-quality/"><em>Target Terror</em> price drops</a>, while others choose to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/04/female-duo-sets-the-standard-for-link-cosplay/">imitate game characters</a> at anime festivals. The Tanooki interviewed one such cosplayer, Andrea Zampella, and found that her Nintendo devotion is a new development! <br /><br />As it turns out, she grew up <em>Segaist</em>. It wasn't until <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em> games began to show up on the GameCube that Andrea began to appreciate Nintendo consoles. <em>Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games</em> was the catalyst for her complete conversion, marking the end of the Sonic/Mario rivalry. "Plus," she said, "<em>Super Mario Galaxy</em> was the bomb, and so was Rosalina!"<br /><br />Check after the break for a picture of Andrea as Rosalina. More images of both the Rosalina and Midna costumes can be found at The Tanooki, along with the full interview.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/midna-rosalina-expertly-cosplayed-by-nintendo-convert/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Midna, Rosalina expertly cosplayed by Nintendo convert</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/midna-rosalina-expertly-cosplayed-by-nintendo-convert/">Midna, Rosalina expertly cosplayed by Nintendo convert</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 07 Jul 2008 17:00:00 EST. Aside from that, however, this could <em>totally</em> be Midna, of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/twilight-princess"><em>Twilight Princess</em></a> fame.<br /><br />This was snapped at last year's Anime Expo in <strike>the Gerudo Desert</strike> Long Beach, California, though has only recently surfaced on the internets. We've got <em>huge</em> respect for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/cosplay">cosplay</a> when it's as well-executed as this -- just look at the craftsmanship on that headdress! For us, this ranks right up there with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/20/against-all-odds-samus-cosplay-looks-surprisingly-good/">Samus cosplay</a> we posted about many moons ago on DS Fanboy (though doesn't give us the same lulz as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/25/cosplay-in-just-minutes-a-day/">Dr. Kawashima</a> example).<br /><br />Go past the jump to see a full-length shot, as well as another fine <em>Twilight Princess</em> cosplay, this time based on bug-lover/general weirdo Agitha.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/twilight-princess-cosplay-leaves-us-agog/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Twilight Princess cosplay leaves us agog</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/twilight-princess-cosplay-leaves-us-agog/">Twilight Princess cosplay leaves us agog</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 31 Mar 2008 19:00:00 EST. Adding onto the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/06/hotel-dusk-in-stills/">unique visual style</a>, each individual has a rich set of expressions and postures to communicate with. When one of the hotel guests describes a mannerism of the game's protagonist, you know exactly what he means by "that serious look in [Kyle's] eyes."</p>
<p>Sonic's toe-tapping idle animation and King Hippo's falling shorts were also cited as great examples of unforgettable character details. Simple idiosyncrasies like that stay with you long after you've finished playing a game. What unique traits have you seen give a collection of pixels an identity? Was it Midna's sigh? Or Dry Bones' skeletal chuckle as he passed you in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mariokart"><em>Mario Kart DS</em></a>?</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/06/mannerisms-in-hotel-dusk-and-other-games/">Mannerisms in Hotel Dusk and other games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Mar 2007 16:20:00 EST. Third place goes to <a href="http://duelinganalogs.com/?date=2007-02-19"><em>Dueling Analogs</em>'</a> clever mashup of some of our favorite games.<br /><br />Last week's list was over-indulgent, and we intend to purge it of its gluttonous weight and trim according to quality. We have a better idea of what the readers enjoy, but we will ultimately leave the selection up to supreme dictators (read: us). We promise to always showcase the little guys as much as possible, so as not to become a perpetual fistfight amongst the top 5 gaming comics.<br /><br />With that said, thanks to everyone who voted and be sure to let us know of any game-related comics you stumble upon this week!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/27/readers-pick-best-webcomic-now-with-google/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Readers pick best webcomic, now with Google</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/27/readers-pick-best-webcomic-now-with-google/">Readers pick best webcomic, now with Google</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Feb 2007 07:30:00 EST.
