	<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/30/motorstorm-devs-saved-from-apocalypse-by-sony/"><img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/motorstorm1122.jpg" style="width: 530px; height: 349px; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid;" /></a></div>
After the well-reviewed <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/motorstorm-apocalypse">MotorStorm Apocalypse</a></em> failed to move the sales needle in the states and Europe (it wasn't even released in Japan, following the March tsunami) Evolution Studios boss Matt Southern worried it would be the death of the studio. "We made a game we're really proud of and for some really heartbreaking reasons things didn't go so well," he told <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-11-30-motorstorm-boss-feared-apocalypse-failure-might-be-the-end-of-evolution">Eurogamer</a>.<br />
<br />
But like a late-race turbo boost saving a car from elimination, Southern said that Sony has given the studio a shot in the arm with the Vita-bound mini-racer, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/motorstorm-rc"><em>MotorStorm RC</em></a>. "We split the company up into three teams, one making <em>RC</em>, one supporting <em>MotorStorm Apocalypse</em> post-launch with DLC and multiplayer, and another bunch of guys just brainstorming new ideas. In a climate like the one we've had this year, that is rare."<br />
<br />
It's great to hear about any studio staying in business for whatever reason, but if the last <em>MotorStorm</em> sold poorly despite its quality, isn't yet another <em>MotorStorm</em> game an odd choice for a follow-up?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/30/motorstorm-devs-saved-from-apocalypse-by-sony/">MotorStorm devs saved from Apocalypse by Sony</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Nov 2011 17:00:00 EST. <br />
For a new, smaller PlayStation system, Sony just announced a smaller <em>MotorStorm</em>. <em>MotorStorm RC</em> for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/@vita">PS Vita</a>, due in the spring, shrinks the trucks down to radio-controlled toys, making it basically the <em>Virtua Fighter Kids</em> of PlayStation racing franchises. Weirdly, the RC trucks are still driving in real off-road racing type locations, "from the dusty desert mesa's of Monument Valley, to the dangerous jungles of a Pacific island, to the icy tundra at the Arctic Edge, to the apocalyptic ruins of an urban city." Essentially, a roundup of <em>MotorStorm's</em> greatest hits.<br />
<br />
It's actually not just for Vita -- it'll be available as a PS3 download as well. And when you buy one, you automatically have access to the other, with the ability to use the same save. That PS3 version will have 4 player split-screen.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/22/motorstorm-rc-brings-tiny-trucks-to-vita-and-ps3/">Motorstorm RC brings tiny trucks to Vita and PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Nov 2011 15:20:00 EST. In an effort to prove that Sony <em>ain't the boss o' them</em>, <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/accessories/playstation-3d-display/92829">Gamestop</a> will be bundling <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Resistance-3"><em>Resistance 3</em></a> with each pre-order for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/06/sony-replaces-resistance-3-with-motorstorm-apocalypse-in-3dtv-b/">now-<em>MotorStorm</em>-infused</a> PlayStation-branded 3DTV, launching this November. It's also possible that Gamestop is simply honoring its existing pre-orders while sweetening the pot to attract new buyers, but where's the fun in that?<br />
<br />
As weird as pre-ordering a <em>television set</em> is, having two 3D-capable games certainly adds a little extra something to deal, and when you're spending $500 on anything it's important to get your money's worth. It will be interesting to see if other retailers follow suit, but considering the fact that this is a 24-inch 3DTV, we doubt potential buyers will have room for anything larger than another disc.<br />
<br />
[Thanks, MLC!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/06/gamestop-bundling-resistance-3-with-playstation-3dtv-anyway-if/">Gamestop bundling Resistance 3 with PlayStation 3DTV anyway (if you preorder)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 06 Aug 2011 17:00:00 EST. If you live in a dorm room, or an efficiency in Manhattan, or a tiny <em>Harry Potter</em> staircase closet, you were probably chuffed to bits when Sony announced their <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/sony-introduces-playstation-branded-3d-display-glasses/">24-inch PlayStation-branded 3DTV/Resistance 3 bundle</a> during this year's E3. Now though, it looks like denizens of diminished domiciles will be doing a lot more wicked jumps, and lot less alien shooting.<br />
<br />
Responding to inquiries regarding <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00562O78S/">this Amazon listing</a>, which shows Sony's PlayStation 3DTV bundled with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Motorstorm-apocalypse"><em>MotorStorm: Apocalypse</em></a> instead of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/resistance-3"><em>Resistance 3</em></a>, Insomniac Games confirmed the switch in a <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/insomniacgames/status/99518075656876032">tweet</a>, apologizing for any inconvenience. According to a <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/resistance-3/news/6327443/sony-3d-hdtv-bundle-drops-resistance-3">statement made to Gamespot</a>, <em>MotorStorm: Apcalypse</em> will also support the full-screen-but-also-split-screen functionality touted by <em>Resistance 3</em>, however no information about <em>why</em> the games were switched has been given as of yet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/06/sony-replaces-resistance-3-with-motorstorm-apocalypse-in-3dtv-b/">Sony replaces Resistance 3 with MotorStorm: Apocalypse in 3DTV bundle</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 06 Aug 2011 11:45:00 EST. As far as awesome spectacles in gaming go, <em>MotorStorm Apocalypse</em> is up there with the best. I don't know if I've ever seen a game, let alone a racer, with this amount of action happening at any given moment. I can't help but marvel at the degree and detail of the destruction it renders on a city-wide scale -- which is a problem, since I'm supposed to be focused on racing.<br />
<br />
Everything comes at you so fast, furious, loud and bright that opponents trying to ram you off the "track" (little in this game resembles an actual race course) are the least of your worries. No, the greatest risk is running into the scenery ... over and over and over again.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-apocalypse-4-20-11/">MotorStorm Apocalypse (4/20/11)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-apocalypse-4-20-11/#4074875"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/2010-12-13interstate004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-apocalypse-4-20-11/#4074876"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/2011-01-10boardwalk003big_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-apocalypse-4-20-11/#4074877"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/boardwalk001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-apocalypse-4-20-11/#4074878"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/boardwalk007_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-apocalypse-4-20-11/#4074879"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/docklands005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/22/motorstorm-apocalypse-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MotorStorm Apocalypse review: Crash test dummy</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/22/motorstorm-apocalypse-review/">MotorStorm Apocalypse review: Crash test dummy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 22 Apr 2011 17:00:00 EST. Sony has put the brakes on the North American release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/motorstorm-apocalypse"><em>MotorStorm Apocalypse</em></a>, delaying the game indefinitely in the wake of last week's devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The delay, announced on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/03/18/motorstorm-apocalypse-release-update/">PlayStation Blog</a>, doesn't exactly come as a surprise, given that the title's launch had previously been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/14/yakuza-of-the-end-motorstorm-apocalypse-delayed-in-japan-dis/">postponed in Japan</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/15/motorstorm-apocalypse-launch-postponed-in-uk/">the UK</a>.<br />
<br />
Set in an earthquake-ravaged costal city, the Evolution Studios developed racer had been scheduled for release on April 12. Sony told Joystiq earlier this week that the date still stood. Sony has unleashed a barrage of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/motorstorm-apocalypse"><em>MotorStorm Apocalypse</em></a> news over on <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/12/15/motorstorm-apocalypse-skyline-video-demo-in-2011-dlc-plans-photo-mode-and-more/">the official PlayStation blog</a>. Revealed in a video posted after the break is a track called Skyline, which pits racers against each other while driving across the rooftops of a destroyed (and crumbling) city.<br />
<br />
The clip also shows off a new Superbike vehicle, and lots more. The game will offer player customization in the form of both perks and cosmetic updates, a new photo mode for snapping shots mid-race, extensive PSN tie-in content including some PlayStation Plus exclusives and a new taunts / gestures system that will enable you to bug other riders online.<br />
<br />
Sony also promises lots of DLC (including possibly a free island-themed track) and a series of developer diary videos in the weeks to come. The game's been given a launch target of Spring 2011, and a demo is planned for early next year. Is it weird that whenever we start to key in on a big Sony release, our biggest wonder is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/19/kevin-butler-steals-cars-our-hearts-in-gran-turismo-5-commercia/">what KB will say about it</a>?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/15/motorstorm-apocalypse-gets-superbikes-photo-mode-demo-in-2011/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MotorStorm Apocalypse gets Superbikes, photo mode, demo in 2011</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/15/motorstorm-apocalypse-gets-superbikes-photo-mode-demo-in-2011/">MotorStorm Apocalypse gets Superbikes, photo mode, demo in 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Dec 2010 21:00:00 EST. If you're one of what must be <em>millions </em>of PS3 owners who have already dropped three large on a Bravia 3DTV, you've already experienced a small taste of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/motorstorm-pacific-rift">MotorStorm: Pacific Rift</a> </em>in 3D as part of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/15/3d-ps3-games-coming-to-psn-in-june-4-free-with-bravia-purchases/">the demo pack Sony gave you</a>. Good news for you: The experience doesn't end there. As part of tomorrow's PlayStation Store update, Sony is making <em>MotorStorm 3D Rift</em> available, a more substantial 3D-ified release of the game featuring 10 courses, each linked to a specific event type. Unfortunately, there's no multiplayer (online or off), but at least it'll run on those old-fashioned 2D televisions, too -- like anyone uses <em>those </em>anymore!<br />
<br />
The price of admission for this thrill ride: $10. The price of the game running in 3D: 30 frames per second.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/23/motorstorm-3d-rift-tears-up-psn-tomorrow-with-2d-support/">MotorStorm 3D Rift tears up PSN tomorrow (with 2D support)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 23 Aug 2010 14:20:00 EST. The first thing I notice as I fit the 3-D glasses over my eyes and launch into the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/motorstorm-apocalypse"><em>MotorStorm: Apocalypse</em></a> E3 demo is that <em>there are people</em> running all over the place. "Looters ... <em>crazies</em>," art director Simon O'Brien corrects, as I plow into one, sending his ragdoll body flying out of the screen at us.<br />
<br />
I figure I'm not going to have many, <em>if any</em> more chances to play <em>MotorStorm: Apocalypse</em> in 3-D (I'm no <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/09/stereoscopic-3d-coming-to-ps3-tomorrow/">early adopter</a>), so I settle in and run through the demo a few times. The third <em>MotorStorm</em> game for PS3 has been in development for two years and its 3-D component for half that time. Developer Evolution Studios has done an admirable job implementing this technical gimmick, and in 3-D mode the demo maintains a steady 30fps framerate and the visual details hold up (at least better than in <em>Killzone 3</em><em>'s</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/27/hands-on-killzone-3/">first take in 3-D</a>).<br />
<br />
<em>MotorStorm: Apocalypse</em> is understandably chaotic, however, and the 3-D distractions, like those flying crazies, make an already difficult race course more challenging to navigate. I slam into a few walls, not easily seeing turns in the impromptu "track" -- a straight-shot race through a crumbling, fictional West Coast city. I finish in something like 13th place and ask if I can see the game in "2-D mode," but the demo doesn't allow for us to switch over.<br />

Sony's pre-E3 reveals continue with confirmation of <em>MotorStorm: Apocalypse</em> (a.k.a. "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/06/rumor-motorstorm-3-screens-look-positively-apocalyptic/">MotorStorm 3</a>"). Confirming previously leaked details, <em>Apocalypse</em> takes the franchise to a new urban setting, with a focus on destruction -- not unlike the recently released <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/split-second"><em>Split/Second</em></a>. Players will be (foolishly!) racing through a city in the middle of an earthquake, driving through collapsing buildings.<br />
<br />
"This isn't post-apocalyptic. It's apocalyptic. You are there when it happens. It's survival racing," the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/06/10/introducing-motorstorm-apocalypse/">PlayStation.Blog</a> adds. In addition to the new setting, developer Evolution Studios is promising a greater emphasis on online and split-screen multiplayer, offering split-screen team racing in online, 16-player matches.<br />
<br />
<em>MotorStorm 3</em> will be playable at E3 next week. Expect our full hands-on report then.<br />

French gaming news site <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http://www.ps3gen.fr/motorstorm-3-images-volees-jeu-toujours-pas-annonce-actualite-11172.html&amp;sl=fr&amp;tl=en&amp;hl=&amp;ie=UTF-8">PS3Gen recently got its hands</a> on a few photos purportedly leaked from the next installment in the <em>MotorStorm</em> franchise. The images depict a collapsing, derelict version of San Francisco, where racers must negotiate ruined streets, toppling skyscrapers and -- if the norms of past games in the series remain -- other racers, who are probably driving vehicles that are <em>so much larger</em> than their own.<br />
<br />
Though PS3Gen doesn't mention where the images came from, they certainly look legit. Between these and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/sony-downplays-meaning-of-motorstorm-3-domain-purchase/"><em>Motorstorm 3</em></a> domain registration filed in February, we wouldn't be surprised if this was one of Sony's major players during its E3 press conference.<br />

<em>Pinball Heroes</em> may be an odd way of cashing in on Sony's most successful franchises, but it works. The original release debuted on the PSP (via PlayStation Network) last year, and featured four tables based on <em>Uncharted</em>, <em>PAIN</em>, <em>Hot Shots Golf</em> and <em>High Velocity Bowling</em>. A new expansion pack, available next week on the PlayStation Store, will add four more tables to the mix: <em>Fat Princess</em>, <em>Wipeout HD Fury</em>, <em>ModNation Racers</em> and <em>MotorStorm</em>.<br />
<br />
All four tables will be bundled together for $9.99, and can be played with or without the original game. PSP Go owners have even more reason to check out <em>Pinball Heroes</em> -- it's one of the few games that can actually be played in closed system mode!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/21/pinball-heroes-adds-fat-princess-wipeout-modnation-and-motorst/">Pinball Heroes adds Fat Princess, Wipeout, ModNation and Motorstorm tables</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 May 2010 19:30:00 EST. The domain, which currently redirects to the UK's PlayStation site, would seem to provide a hint that a sequel to the PS3's flagship truck-dirtying simulator is on the way. Or does it?<br />
<br />
Sony told <a href="http://www.vg247.com/2010/02/22/scee-motorstorm-3-domain-should-not-be-interpreted-as-an-announcement/">VG247</a> that "It's not uncommon for us to secure the URLs containing the names of our successful IP, and those actions should not be interpreted as an announcement of a new title in a franchise." That leaves only the knowledge that <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm">MotorStorm</a></em> is one of Sony's major PS3 showpieces and <em>of course there's going to be another one</em>.<br />

PlayStation Home will be getting a near-lethal injection of cuteness tomorrow, thanks to the brand new LocoIsland Estate. Available in Europe for &pound;3.99 (US release TBA), the virtual island features a giant tree house and, even more exciting, a virtual cruise. The Estate also grants access to mini-games, like LocoReverse and a Domingo race.<br />
<br />
In addition to the <em>LocoRoco</em> space, PlayStation Home will also be getting a <em>MotorStorm</em> space. The MotorStorm Carrier is a decommissioned aircraft carrier that also features its own mini-games, quests and rewards (just like real-life aircraft carriers!). Check out trailers for both new spaces after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/17/locoroco-go-to-playstation-home/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LocoRoco go to PlayStation Home</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/17/locoroco-go-to-playstation-home/">LocoRoco go to PlayStation Home</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Feb 2010 18:17:00 EST. The development team at Bigbig Studios -- who are ironically comprised of employees under 5 feet tall on average* -- will face off against <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Motorstorm-Arctic-Edge/">Motorstorm: Arctic Edge</a></em> players tomorrow in an evening multiplayer event. According to the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/10/27/motorstorm-arctic-edge-beat-the-developers/">PlayStation UK Blog</a>, the event will take place on European servers from 17:30 GMT (1:30PM EDT) to 19:00 GMT (3:00PM EDT).<br />
<br />
Along with (probably) destroying the community at the PSP racer they made, the developers will offer a <a href="http://twitter.com/bigbigstudios">live Twitter commentary</a> to the Europe-only event. That's right. Bigbig Studios is so confident they will destroy the opposition they will be tweeting as they race. That, kids, is called <em>confidence</em>.<br />

Here's the takeaway message from the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/09/motorstorm-arctice-edge-%E2%80%93-a-behind-the-scenes-look-at-the-making-of/">first installment</a> in a series of four developer diaries for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-arctic-edge"><em>Motorstom: Arctic Edge</em></a>: It's a lot like <em>Motorstorm</em>, only smaller, and covered in snow.<br /><br />However, this omnipresent precipitation introduces several subtle nuances to the gameplay, including avalanches, crumbling ice bridges and vehicular bobsledding. If you're now looking forward to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cool_Runnings"><em>feeling de rhythm </em>and <em>feeling de rhyme</em></a>, check out the video diary after the jump.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/11/motorstorm-arctic-edge-dev-diary-is-cold-as-ice/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Motorstorm: Arctic Edge dev diary is cold as ice</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/11/motorstorm-arctic-edge-dev-diary-is-cold-as-ice/">Motorstorm: Arctic Edge dev diary is cold as ice</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 11 Sep 2009 14:15:00 EST. If you're looking to get downright chilly in Sony's upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-arctic-edge"><em>Motorstorm: Arctic Edge</em></a>, know that you won't have to sweat the summer heat much longer, because <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/08/27/motorstorm-arctic-edge-lunatics-unite-on-psp-september-29/">PlayStation Blog</a> has confirmed that the PSP version of the game will slide into retail September 29 and become available as a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psp-go">PSP Go</a> launch download on October 1. Both releases are priced at $39.99 and include 12 reversible tracks and eight vehicle classes. <br /><br />If, however, you were hoping for yet another excuse <em>not</em> to upgrade your console hardware (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ps3-slim/">but how can you resist?</a>), you're going to have to a wait a bit longer for the PS2 version of <em>Artic Edge</em>, which will release "later this fall." The console port features everything in the PSP game, plus an old-school, in-your-face, split-screen multiplayer mode.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/motorstorm-arctic-edge-races-to-retail-sept-29-download-oct-1/">Motorstorm: Arctic Edge races to retail Sept. 29, download Oct. 1</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Aug 2009 12:01:00 EST. It may be nearly a year since the release of <em>MotorStorm: Pacific Rift</em>, but that's not stopping Sony from creating a brand new Home Space for the franchise. <em>MotorStorm</em> content will be appearing "over the coming weeks," beginning with the ability to use Game Launching for <em>Pacific Rift</em> this Thursday. Through Game Launching, Home users can meet up, chat, and then instantly jump into a game of <em>MotorStorm</em> together. Neat, huh?<br /><br />PlayStation Home has been getting support from a wide variety of games, from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/20/katamari-forever-to-feature-home-rewards-minigames-over-credits/"><em>Katamari</em></a> to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/15/fight-night-round-4-coming-to-home-this-week/"><em>Fight Night</em></a> to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/29/fat-princess-home-space-arrives-tomorrow-trophy-list-arrives-no/"><em>Fat Princess</em></a>. The addition of <em>MotorStorm</em> is another nice addition to Home's ever-diversifying lineup.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/29/motorstorm-races-home/">MotorStorm races Home</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 Jul 2009 20:15:00 EST. After the nonsense known as "E3," it looks like things have slowed down quite considerably. Other than some DLC, there really isn't much to check out this week. In fact, PSP owners don't have <span style="font-style: italic;">anything</span> to look at.<br /> <br />

It's a rare thing for a portable game to best its console predecessor, but that's what might be happening in <em>MotorStorm: Arctic Edge</em>. BigBig, the team behind the cult PSP <em>Pursuit Force</em> games, know how to work the handheld and they've crafted an experience that handles far better than the console games. <em>MotorStorm</em> is known for its visceral races, but the juxtaposition of more "sim-like" controls in such an arcadey game didn't jive with us fully. <em>Arctic Edge</em> adopts the game a bit, by tweaking the controls to be a bit more responsive.<br /><br />The end result is a game that's a bit more accessible, but no less fun and intense. Obviously, the PSP isn't capable of producing the visuals of a PS3, but BigBig has developed a brand new engine for <em>Arctic Edge</em> and it shows. This new generation engine far surpasses the last <em>Pursuit Force</em> game, by throwing an impressive amount of particles in fast, detailed levels. The animation on the vehicles is particularly terrific as each of the wheels respond to the various bumps on the ground.<br /><br />While the controls are slightly tweaked, the overall gameplay should remain largely familiar to those that have played the previous two games. Once again, players will want to effectively manage boost and navigate a dynamic branching race course. Racing against a multitude of vehicle types is one of the highlights of the console games, and we're glad to see BigBig has expanded the garage with two new vehicles: the Snow Cat and the Snow Plow. Those of you that like the Monster Truck will get a blast out of this. The monstrous vehicle races at a surprising speed, and it's quite the intimidating vehicle to race against.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-arctic-edge-e3-2009/">MotorStorm: Arctic Edge E3 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-arctic-edge-e3-2009/#2056183"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/msae_vehicle_br02_image01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-arctic-edge-e3-2009/#2056182"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/msae_vehicle_bk02_image01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-arctic-edge-e3-2009/#2056181"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/msae_e3_may09_screens_seta_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-arctic-edge-e3-2009/#2056180"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/msae_vehicle_sm02_image01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/motorstorm-arctic-edge-e3-2009/#2056179"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/msae_vehicle_sc01_image01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/04/hands-on-motorstorm-arctic-edge-psp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hands-on: MotorStorm Arctic Edge (PSP)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/04/hands-on-motorstorm-arctic-edge-psp/">Hands-on: MotorStorm Arctic Edge (PSP)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Jun 2009 11:00:00 EST. <em>MotorStorm</em> fans can't seem to get enough content, judging from the constant stream of new DLC. It's either that or Evolution Studios is just not tired of giving fans more of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><em>MotorStorm: Pacific Rift</em></a>. Promising two new major content packs, <em>Pacific Rift</em> will expand with a slew of new tracks, new vehicles, Trophies and more. Check after the break for details on both the Speed and Adrenaline expansions.<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/future-motorstorm-pacific-rift-expansions-promise-more-speed-an/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Future MotorStorm: Pacific Rift expansions promise more Speed and Adrenaline</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/future-motorstorm-pacific-rift-expansions-promise-more-speed-an/">Future MotorStorm: Pacific Rift expansions promise more Speed and Adrenaline</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 16:30:00 EST. We really like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><span style="font-style: italic;">Motorstorm: Pacific Rift</span></a>. Promise! But you know what the vehicles could use is a little more variety in color -- nothin' better than seeing a beautiful car careening over a cliff. So you'll understand our excitement when we found out that a handful of new DLC packs will be hitting the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psn">PlayStation Network</a> featuring a smattering of new paint jobs.<br /><br />What's better? They're all free! Starting tomorrow and continuing for the following eight weeks -- one livery pack a week. Also included in tomorrow's DLC will be a patch clearing up a few bugs and accidents left in the game, as well as a new addition to online play in "microbadges." In so many words, a variety of icons will hover over each characters head, allowing you to show off your <span style="font-style: italic;">mad skillz</span> to all your opponents (as seen in the screenshot above). Care to peep the new colors? Check out a video showing them off after the break!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/13/new-and-free-motorstorm-dlc-hittin-the-dirt-on-may-14/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New (and free) MotorStorm DLC hittin' the dirt on May 14</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/13/new-and-free-motorstorm-dlc-hittin-the-dirt-on-may-14/">New (and free) MotorStorm DLC hittin' the dirt on May 14</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 May 2009 16:00:00 EST. <span style="font-style: italic;">MotorStorm</span> is about to roll onto the PSP for the first time with a new title -- and it's not even a port! <span style="font-style: italic;">MotorStorm Arctic Edge</span>, developed by Bigbig Studios (the guys responsible for <em>Pursuit Force</em>), made an appearance at the recent Sony Gamers Day event and took us for a ride through its chilly environments. According to game director Richard Ogden, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-arctic-edge"><em>MotorStorm: Arctic Edge</em></a> is pushing the PSP harder than any other game before it. Ogden told <a href="http://psp.nowgamer.com/news/318/arctic-edge-will-significantly-push-psp">NowGamer</a> that <em>Arctic Edge</em> is squeezing all it can from the portable system, claiming it has more "physics, damage and destruction" going on than other PSP titles. <br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Arctic Edge</span> will be a "full <span style="font-style: italic;">MotorStorm</span> experience," said Ogden, though he does note that there will be an obvious downgrade in graphics and visuals. "As long as you take a sensible view on what you're trying to achieve then there aren't really any major constraints when translating a PS3 game to PSP." Considering we still haven't seen much of the title yet, save for pre-rendered screenshots and a trailer, we're interested to see if BigBig Studios' work lives up to Ogden's <span style="font-style: italic;">big</span> claims.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/20/dev-speak-motorstorm-will-push-psp-over-arctic-edge/">Dev speak: MotorStorm will push PSP over (arctic) edge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 Mar 2009 14:30:00 EST. The first big <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><em>MotorStorm Pacific Rift</em></a> update patch is <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/02/18/motorstorm-pacific-rift-game-update-1-now-live/">now live</a> and available to download. Simply start the game up and the update will begin automatically. As <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/28/upcoming-motorstorm-pacific-rift-patch-will-fix-saves-bugs/">announced</a>, the patch fixes several bugs in the game, including save data corruption and a sneaky Boost exploit. The copy protection has been removed from save files, so you can now back up your saves, just in case they <em>do</em> get corrupted. <br /><br />The latest PS Blog post also hints at another update coming soon, "which has some very cool new content in it, especially if you have a bit of a penchant for collecting cool stuff, or if you're the type of person who enjoys PS3 Trophies." Nothing more is said, but it sounds intriguing. Looking back on how much DLC the original <em>MotorStorm</em> received, we won't be surprised to see a few more tracks and/or modes heading our way.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/18/motorstorm-pacific-rift-update-now-live/">MotorStorm Pacific Rift update now live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Feb 2009 10:25:00 EST. Though they're usually much better at smashing things, the folks at Evolution Studios now have to sit down quietly and fix a few things. A new game patch for <em>Motorstorm: Pacific Rift</em> is oiled up and raring to hit the dirt soon, bringing with it a few new tweaks and fixes.<br /><br />According to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/01/26/motorstorm-pacific-rift-game-update-just-around-the-corner/">PlayStation Blog</a>, the forthcoming patch will significantly adjust the manner in which the game handles saved data, add a critical transfer notification and lift copy restrictions. Problems like the boost-exploit glitch, which grants players infinite boost, will also be done away with. You'll find the full annotations after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/28/upcoming-motorstorm-pacific-rift-patch-will-fix-saves-bugs/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Upcoming MotorStorm: Pacific Rift patch will fix saves, bugs</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/28/upcoming-motorstorm-pacific-rift-patch-will-fix-saves-bugs/">Upcoming MotorStorm: Pacific Rift patch will fix saves, bugs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 Jan 2009 02:30:00 EST. This will be the last post we make before the site redesign goes into effect. Are you excited?<br /><br />Our site isn't the only thing getting patched. No, <em>MotorStorm: Pacific Rift</em> will also be getting some post-release bug fixin' fun. According to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/01/26/motorstorm-pacific-rift-game-update-just-around-the-corner/">PlayStation.Blog</a>, the patch will arrive soon and will include the following features:<br />
<ul>
    <li><strong>Restrictions to the copying of Saved Data have been removed.</strong> This will make it possible for Saved Data to be backed up and then restored to the User Account it was created under (whether that's on the same PLAYSTATION 3 or not).*</li>
    <li><strong>Changes to the way the game handles data.</strong> These changes will help to prevent Saved Data corruption.</li>
    <li><strong>Visual notification of critical save progress has been added.</strong> A 'MotorStorm Helmet' icon will be displayed on-screen to warn users that critical data is being saved. This is in addition to the HDD Access light which currently flashes while the game makes a critical save.</li>
    <li><strong>The glitch which enables a player to exploit the Boost system has been removed.</strong> The development team are working to identify which times have been achieved using this glitch; Action will be taken to ensure that the Leaderboards become genuinely competitive again.</li>
    <li><strong>Time Attack times and Rank information will update correctly for all players.</strong> Any pending Time Attack times will begin to filter through systematically and the online Ranks should display correctly once the update is released.</li>
    <li><strong>Additional fixes and improvements to gameplay.</strong> Many thanks for your feedback on these and other issues so far; we are still investigating the other issues that have been brought to our attention.</li>

Two of Europe's brightest development teams will share a home in the future, according to a <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/sonys-michael-denny-part-two">recent interview</a> with SCEE's Michael Denny. Studio Liverpool, developers of the popular <em>Wipeout</em> franchise, and Evolution Studios, developers of the <em>MotorStorm</em> series, will eventually merge to work at one location. The two teams have already merged "management structure" and are currently using "combined resources." The two teams are already in close proximity to each other, so it makes sense that these PlayStation teams should combine.<br /><br />Each studio will continue to have their own "internal concepting group" to think up "new opportunities and new IPs." Perhaps their next game will feature futuristic hovering ... off-road monster trucks. Wait a sec. That sounds incredibly awesome.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/07/scee-plans-to-merge-liverpool-and-evolution-studios/">SCEE plans to merge Liverpool and Evolution Studios</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Jan 2009 11:30:00 EST. <div align="left">Who knew a racing game would sell? Sony did; that's why it made <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><em>MotorStorm: Pacific Rift</em></a>, which, as reported by <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/motorstorm-pacific-rift-passes-one-million-sales">GamesIndustry.biz</a>, has sold one million copies worldwide since it, well, stormed onto shelves in the US on October 28 and subsequently jumped across the pond on November 7.<br /><br />The PS3 launch game's sequel has hit some bumps on UK sales charts, debuting in 29th place and slipping to 35th for the second week of November. Still, GI.biz says that developer Evolution Studios remains undeterred in its plans to introduce downloadable content for the game, in the form of new courses and cars/motorcycles/trucks/ATVs/scooters. (Okay, we made that last one up. Just keeping you sharp.)</div>

With <em>MotorStorm: Pacific Rift</em> finished, the Evolution Studios team sat down with 1UP to talk about the franchise in a retrospective interview. The first question is a rough one -- going after the lofty expectations created by not just one (but two!) "target" CG renders. While the games certainly look pretty, they're far from the pre-rendered gorgeousness of the initial videos released. Their response is brutally honest, and filled with expletives. You'll have to break through an age gate to see their response, after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/26/evolution-studios-talks-motorstorm-and-target-renders/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Evolution Studios talks MotorStorm and target renders</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/26/evolution-studios-talks-motorstorm-and-target-renders/">Evolution Studios talks MotorStorm and target renders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Nov 2008 11:30:00 EST. <div align="left">As we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/10/japanese-lbp-site-shows-upcoming-dlc/">guessed</a> when we saw a similar set of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet">LittleBigPlanet</a></em> DLC offered to Japan two days ago, the costume of Toro, the main character of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/18/trophies-mainichi-issyo-jpn-only/"><em>Mainich Isshyo</em></a>, has been left out in the US release. Replacing the feline will be a MotorStormer costume, as seen above. On the left of the MotorStormer is a freebie based on the winning design of the SCEE costume contest, a Sack-Eating Plant. <br /><br />The remaining costumes are the same wildlife ones from the Japanese release, and now they have names: Lilly Pad (<strike>chameleon</strike> frog), Hugo (gorilla), Great Blue (shark) and Frost-E (penguin). The animals can be purchased individually for $0.99 each or as a 4-pack for $2.99. The MotorStormer will be $1.99. All of them will make their US debuts tomorrow, November 13th, on the PS Store. Head over to the <a href="http://news.littlebigworkshop.com/en-us/post/2008/11/LBP--PS-Store-111308.aspx">official <em>LBP</em> blog</a> to check out the rest of the costumes.<br /><br /></div>

<div align="left">The semi-official blog <a href="http://threespeech.com/blog/2008/10/diaries-ready-weve-got-a-release-schedule/">ThreeSpeech</a> has announced European/UK release dates for their upcoming titles. Most of you are probably most interested in the <em>Resistance 2</em> release date, which has been floating around as rumor but never confirmed.<em> Buzz! Quiz TV Special Edition</em> was suppose to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/24/buzz-special-edition-coming-to-europe-in-november/">come out next month</a>, so its release date of tomorrow is a little earlier than expected. The first <em>MotorStorm</em> title was known to have a multitude of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/08/brace-yourself-even-more-motorstorm-dlc-is-coming/">downloadable content</a> (of course, some could argue it was needed -- at least for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/19/motorstorm-rushed-to-japan-and-it-shows/">Japanese release</a>). Speaking to <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=200370">CVG</a>, <em>MotorStorm: Pacific Rift </em>Game Director Nigel Kershaw has revealed that weekly DLC is being planned. "We've got a pile of stuff waiting in the wings," he said, "and you'll be glad to know, a lot of it is free."<br /><br />Kershaw said that "major packs" will be coming after Christmas. Previous <em>MotorStorm</em> DLC included new game modes, new tracks and new vehicles. Kudos to the developer for taking what we're affectionately calling the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-weekly"><em>Rock Band </em>model</a> for support. No word on when we should expect the added content to start rolling out. <em>Pacific Rift</em> launched <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/11/motorstorm-pacific-rift-rides-into-retail-oct-28/">this week</a> in North America.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/28/motorstorm-pacific-rift-to-have-weekly-dlc/">MotorStorm: Pacific Rift to have weekly DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Oct 2008 09:25:00 EST. <p>Does it get any more EXTREME than this? A new PlayStation.blog post reveals the upcoming one minute ad for <em>MotorStorm Pacific Rift</em> -- and it involves people riding ATVs ... out of planes. The small text at the bottom warns you: "Do Not Attempt." We agree.</p>

<br /> Sony has revealed the full track list for <span style="font-style: italic;">MotorStorm Pacific Rift</span>. The 16 levels are split between four zones, each based on an element. In the Air Zone you'll find lots of jumps, cliffs and downhill sections while the Earth Zone is a little more down to earth (get it?), with plenty of plants and undergrowth which can get in your way, hide obstacles and, apparently, fight back. In the Fire Zone you'll be faced with lava pits, volcanoes and rocky wastelands and, finally, in the Water Zone you'll find the island's coast, huge waterfalls and rivers. For a description of each of the 16 tracks, check after the break for the press release excerpt.<br /><br />This should please those who found the dusty desert setting of the original <span style="font-style: italic;">MotorStorm</span> a bit dull after a while. <span style="font-style: italic;">Pacific Rift </span>promises to be incredibly varied, especially when you check out the tracks themselves. We've been given a huge number of screenshots to get up, including maps of most of the tracks, so check them out in the gallery below. It's definitely worth a look. <br /><br />
<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/03/motorstorm-pacific-rift-track-details-and-screenshots/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Motorstorm Pacific Rift track details and screenshots</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/03/motorstorm-pacific-rift-track-details-and-screenshots/">Motorstorm Pacific Rift track details and screenshots</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 Oct 2008 14:10:00 EST. Sorry to disappoint you folks, but apparently the <em>MotorStorm</em> listing for the PSP we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/11/psp-motorstorm-spotted-at-game-co-uk-retailer/#comments">told you about yesterday</a> on <a href="http://www.game.co.uk/PSP/%7Er327475/Motorstorm/?s=motorstorm">Game.co.uk</a> was an error. The guys over at <a href="http://www.videogamer.com/news/12-09-2008-9302.html">Videogamer</a> got in touch with an SCEE spokesperson, who confirmed the listing was a mistake and requested that Game.co.uk remove the listing.<br /><br />This doesn't mean a PSP version of the <em>MotorStorm</em> won't happen in the future, especially considering the positive responses the listing generated, but for now nothing is in the works.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/12/scee-psp-motorstorm-listing-is-an-error/">SCEE: PSP MotorStorm listing is an error</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Sep 2008 12:00:00 EST. A listing for a PSP version of <em>MotorStorm</em> on UK retailer <a href="http://www.game.co.uk/PSP/~r327475/Motorstorm/?s=motorstorm">GAME's website</a> was a mistake, reports <a href="http://www.videogamer.com/news/12-09-2008-9302.html">VideoGamer</a>. A Sony Europe spokesperson confirms that GAME made an error and that the page should be removed shortly.<br /><br />Although, not exactly portable -- unless you <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/11/ben-heck-assembles-the-playstation-3-laptop/">pull a Ben Heck</a> -- <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm"><em>MotorStorm</em></a>'s sequel, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><em>Pacific Rift</em></a>, will be available on PS3 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/11/motorstorm-pacific-rift-rides-into-retail-oct-28/">Oct. 28</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/12/sony-motorstorm-psp-retail-listing-was-an-error/">Sony: MotorStorm PSP retail listing was an error</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Sep 2008 12:00:00 EST. While the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><em>MotorStorm: Pacific Rift</em></a> demo is currently only available via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/qore"><em>Qore</em></a> in America, SCEE has sent out a batch of redemption codes to a number of lucky Europeans. Check your emails and make sure it's not lurking in your spam. We're not sure whether all the codes have now been sent out, or if there are more to come, but keep checking throughout the day just in case. Did you get one? Simply enter the code in the redemption screen in your acccount management section of the XMB and you can begin your download. Let us know what you think, both of the demo and of this method of content distribution.<br /><br />[Thanks stargateheaven]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/12/european-motorstorm-pr-demo-codes-have-been-delivered/">European MotorStorm: PR demo codes have been delivered</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Sep 2008 09:30:00 EST. If <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pure"><em>Pure</em></a> isn't your thing, then there's always <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><em>MotorStorm Pacific Rift</em></a> to bring you more off-road racing action on your PS3. Luckily, the mudslinging, dirt-in-face title won't keep you waiting long as an official October 28 release for North America is now set in stone.<br /><br />With 4-player split screen, 16 multi-route tracks, and Trophies, it might be hard to say no to this one. Just don't be left in the dust and check out the demo which is out now via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/qore">Qore</a>. Better yet, brush up on your knowledge and read some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/08/hands-on-motorstorm-pacific-rift/">previews</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/11/motorstorm-pacific-rift-officially-out-by-october-28/">MotorStorm Pacific Rift officially out by October 28</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 11 Sep 2008 13:00:00 EST.
