You can now <a href="http://store.valvesoftware.com/product.php?i=S0408">buy a Balloonicorn Plushie</a> straight from Valve's official <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/team-fortress-2"><em>Team Fortress 2</em></a> store. The cute pink union of a balloon and a unicorn is 14.5 inches from horntip to tail and comes with a code for a genuine Balloonicorn in-game item, for $24.99.<br />
<br />
The Balloonicorn serves as the "Municipal Ombudsman" of Pyroland, which is <a href="http://www.teamfortress.com/classes.php?class=pyro#movie">the cute and creepy world</a> as seen through the Pyro's eyes. Like the best things in life, it's adorable yet horrifying.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/valve-now-selling-a-balloonicorn-plushie-with-in-game-code/">Valve now selling a Balloonicorn plushie, with in-game code</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 May 2013 03:00:00 EST. Is your tower loft/prison missing that certain something? Irrational Games hopes a Songbird plushie, now <a href="https://store.irrationalgames.com/Product.aspx?pSKU=2K-INF-SBPLUSH&amp;vSKU=2K-INF-SBPLUSH">available for pre-order</a> through the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bioshock-infinite"><em>BioShock Infinite</em></a> developer's web store, will fill that need.<br />
<br />
The plush Songbird is sits seven inches tall, has a wingspan of 14 inches and is made of metal, wire and polyester. Each Songbird costs $55 and will take flight from Irrational's warehouse and ship out to customers in September.<br />
<br />
The Songbird is the bodyguard of Elizabeth, the coin-flinging counterpart to game protagonist Booker DeWitt. The legendary <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dragon-quest"><em>Dragon Quest</em></a> series (originally published in Japan in 1986, and of course in North America as <em>Dragon Warrior</em> after that) turns 25 this year, and Square Enix is giving all of its gifts away. We've already heard about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/11/dragon-quest-1-2-and-3-collected-on-a-wii-disc/">a Wii collection</a> coming out, but as you can see above, some of the prizes are a little less practical. That's <a href="http://www.dragonquest.jp/25th/goods/09/">a pair of plushie slimes</a> on the left, and on the right is a <a href="http://www.dragonquest.jp/25th/goods/08/">Smile Slime Crystal Mascot figurine</a>, measuring about 6 centimeters tall. Both special slime items also have a <em>DQ</em> 25th anniversary logo on the back. Both of those will be 1554 yen, or about $19 US.<br />
<br />
Additionally, Square Enix is offering some special edition tote bags for the anniversary for about $26 each, and some <a href="http://www.dragonquest.jp/25th/goods/06/"><em>Dragon Quest</em> business card holders</a> (with art featuring the first three games) for around $20 US. All of the swag is supposed to be available starting late July in Japan.<br />

Kittens or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/01/chibiterasu-plush-will-paint-a-smile-on-your-face/">puppies</a>, for example, make wonderful plushies. <em>Abject terror</em>, on the other hand, isn't usually associated with most plushies, making this <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/minecraft"><em>Minecraft</em></a> Creeper plushie from <a href="http://www.arixystix.com/blog/2011/05/28/minecraft-creeper-plush/">Arixystix</a> particularly confusing.<br />
<br />
Then again, as noted on the Arixystix blog, the plushie is roughly the size of a small child, so we imagine its usefulness as a parenting aid would be exceptional. Thankfully for children everywhere, it doesn't appear to be for sale ... yet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/30/minecraft-creeper-plush-seems-like-a-horrible-idea/">Minecraft Creeper plush seems like a horrible idea</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 May 2011 22:13:00 EST. We know, we know -- Fur Town is getting kind of lonely these days. All your <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/kinectimals">Kinectimals</a></em> have been petted and played with so many times and, well, you're getting kinda bored of them. Thankfully, according to an <a href="http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20101129005463/en">announcement</a> from Jakks Pacific this morning, Microsoft has plans to release "five unique plush animals" in the first wave of <em>Kinectimals</em> stuffed animals coming out in Spring 2011. <br />
<br />
Like the King Cheetah and Maltese Tiger included in the game's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/07/kinectimals-limited-edition-listed-with-stuffed-animals/">collector's editions</a>, the plush animals can be scanned into Fur Town and be played with in-game to heart's content. No pricing was given in the announcement -- but can you even put a price on cuteness?<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/29/kinectimals-plush-toys-coming-in-spring-2011/">Kinectimals plush toys coming in Spring 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 29 Nov 2010 20:15:00 EST. Once bitter rivals sharing the throne, these old familiars now find themselves huddled together under a discount sign. <br />Because we're all massive, shameless nerds here at Fanboy Towers, we like to bang on about gaming merchandise, be it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/11/these-game-boy-plushies-smile-back-at-you/">plushes</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/27/phantom-hourglass-gashapon-does-not-help-our-financial-situation/">gashapon</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/16/its-a-nice-looking-soundtrack-cd/">game soundtracks</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/16/skull-kid-figurine-makes-fans-swoon/">figurines</a>, or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/a-slime-inflates/">inflatable Slimes</a>. We're not feigning enthusiasm for much of this, either -- our cluttered shelves are a testament to our love for non-game gaming items. We accept that so much of it is pointless, yet we find the desire to own <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/an-important-phoenix-wright-plush-update/">a plush in the shape of a cartoon lawyer</a> is not one that can be resisted by most mortal men.<br /><br />Are you similarly hooked on gaming merchandise? Tell us about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dsd">your</a> collections, and make us feel better about ourselves.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/12/ds-daily-gaming-merchandise/">DS Daily: Gaming merchandise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 Jun 2008 08:00:00 EST. There's been a disturbing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/07/get-peaceful-with-harvest-moon/">lack of</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/09/first-look-at-wiis-harvest-moon/">press</a> about <em>Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility</em>. In fact, we've probably seen and heard more about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/rune-factory-frontier-produces-screens-website/"><em>Rune Factory: Frontier</em></a> than we have about <em>Tree</em>, which came out in Japan last year.<br /><br />What we <em>do</em> know is that preordering the title through Amazon will get you an adorable cow plushie. Of course, it's difficult to tell when you'll actually receive the game and plush doll; Natsume lists "Summer 2008," Gamestop lists late July, Gamefly lists early August, and Amazon lists late August, to name a few of the scattered release dates. <br /><br />Still, for <em>Harvest Moon</em> fans who were planning to buy the game anyway, a cute cow plush is a nice bonus that might make preordering through Amazon the best way to go. It's certainly not the greatest gift ever, but we think it will definitely appeal to the <em>Harvest Moon</em> crowd ... mostly because we're in that crowd, and we want one for ourselves.<br /><br />

<p><br />Judging by her <a href="http://violetlunchell.deviantart.com/gallery/">gallery</a>, DeviantARTist VioletLunchell seems to specialize in these chibi-style plushes, and her latest piece of work, this Pit plushie, will resonate with anyone who found themselves turned off by the recent batch of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/kid-icarus-to-smolder-with-generic-rage/">alleged concept art</a> for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/08/ign-pretty-much-confirms-kid-icarus/">alleged Wii game</a>.<br /></p>
<p>The artist herself confesses to "[not knowing] anything about video games," but she's done a fairly awesome job here -- this blogger would love one of these to place next to his numerous Pikmin plushes, but sadly this was a one-off commission piece. Probably a good thing, really. There comes a time when a man of 28 really has enough plushes.<br /><br />[Thanks, YaYaLuvsCupcakes!]</p>

Sure, this <a href="http://www.albotas.com/2008/05/pit-plushie/">Pit plushie</a> is adorable, but it has <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_%28Final_Fantasy_VII%29#Mako_as_an_energy_source">Mako eyes</a>, and we're afraid the negative effects Mr. <em>Kid Icarus</em> has had from flying too close to Shinra. Do you love your <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/game-boy/">Game Boy</a> so much that you just want to hug it to death? Then perhaps instead of a game system, you should have a plushie. These cute little handheld dolls also have sweet little facial expressions, making them all the more lovable.<br /><br />The best thing about <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=41407">KungFuCowgirl's</a> Etsy creations is that they're not ridiculously overpriced. They only cost $14 a pop, which is very reasonable for something handmade. We love craftsters, but we always appreciate them more when they don't exploit our gaming love for everything it's worth.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://technabob.com/blog/2008/03/10/gameboy-plush-toys-have-got-personality/">Technabob</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/11/these-game-boy-plushies-smile-back-at-you/">These Game Boy plushies smile back at you</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Mar 2008 22:30:00 EST. Check out this awesome rabbid plush, made by reader Michael Karpinski. As big fans of the rabbids (even if we don't always love <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rayman-raving-rabbids-2/">the games</a>), we were excited to see such an awesomely made plushie doll in their likeness. <br /><br />What we love even more is this picture of a cat hugging the rabbid, not only because we love cute or funny cat pictures (which we do), but because it makes the expression on the plush's face all the more fitting.<br /><br />To see the full greatness of this plush when it's not obscured by cat arms, make sure to check after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/04/bunny-fact-35-rabbids-dont-like-cats/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bunny fact #35: Rabbids don't like cats</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/04/bunny-fact-35-rabbids-dont-like-cats/">Bunny fact #35: Rabbids don't like cats</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Jan 2008 12:00:00 EST. If we had a stuffed Mario doll, we'd probably sleep with him clutched <em>tightly</em> against our chest. But, being the manliest of men that we are, we're too busy knifefighting and <em>growing massive beards on our lantern-shaped jaws</em>. Still, this kickass plush NES setup is impressive and we'll give credit where credit is due. <br /><br />Check out more pictures in the gallery below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blueblythes-nes-plushie/">Blueblythe's NES plushie</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blueblythes-nes-plushie/#288855"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/06/13402nes-med_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blueblythes-nes-plushie/#288854"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/06/13402nes_and_games-med_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blueblythes-nes-plushie/#288853"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/06/13402mario_screen-med_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blueblythes-nes-plushie/#288852"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/06/13402gunandcontroller-med_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/blueblythes-nes-plushie/#288851"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/06/13402duck_hunt_screen-med_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/26/craft-corner-nes-plush/">Craft Corner: NES plush</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 Jun 2007 13:35:00 EST. The lanky plumber already has enough problems dealing with his older brother always stealing the spotlight and Princess Daisy's failure to commit to a serious relationship, but now he has to worry about embarassing photos from 20 years ago resurfacing on the internet. We all have our fair share of unflattering pictures from the 80s, but the images posted for this vintage <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/supermariobros">Super Mario Bros.</a></em> doll auction are downright embarassing.

Yes, of all games, <em>Elebits</em> is the first to offer an incentive to pre-order...to be honest, it probably needs it. The dolls will be either red or blue, and feature absolutely no way to tell until you actually open your box and the creature springs out to begin feasting on your brain. This action will, perhaps, increase the enjoyment of the game, but with any luck, maybe it won't be necessary.<br /><br />Nice boxart for the doll, though. Is anyone considering picking this game up at launch? With one of the strongest launch lineups in video game history, it's going to be difficult to justify spending even more on this quirky little concept...<br /><br />[Update 1: Okay, some stores in Australia had been giving out a whole bunch of coupons for pre-ordering the Wii itself.
