Irrational Games hopes a Songbird plushie, now available for pre-order through the BioShock Infinite developer's web store, will fill that need.

The plush Songbird is sits seven inches tall, has a wingspan of 14 inches and is made of metal, wire and polyester. Each Songbird costs $55 and will take flight from Irrational's warehouse and ship out to customers in September.

The Songbird is the bodyguard of Elizabeth, the coin-flinging counterpart to game protagonist Booker DeWitt. If you're looking for other ways to express your love of BioShock Infinite, you could also print out some different cover art, get a new ringtone or head down to your local buffet.

In fact, we'd go so far as to say that the little guy has appreciated in cuteness since then, and will continue to do so.

Case in point, this 10-inch tall stuffed version of Josef, which is now available for pre-order from developer Amanita Design. The toy is hand-made in Lipník nad Bečvou and costs $30, including shipping. You can even store useful items you find around the real world inside of Josef's robot body, just like in Machinarium. Delivery is expected "within 5 weeks," but you can get a better look right now in the gallery below.

We've already heard about a Wii collection coming out, but as you can see above, some of the prizes are a little less practical. That's a pair of plushie slimes on the left, and on the right is a Smile Slime Crystal Mascot figurine, measuring about 6 centimeters tall. Both special slime items also have a DQ 25th anniversary logo on the back. Both of those will be 1554 yen, or about $19 US.

Additionally, Square Enix is offering some special edition tote bags for the anniversary for about $26 each, and some Dragon Quest business card holders (with art featuring the first three games) for around $20 US. All of the swag is supposed to be available starting late July in Japan.

Kittens or puppies, for example, make wonderful plushies. Abject terror, on the other hand, isn't usually associated with most plushies, making this Minecraft Creeper plushie from Arixystix particularly confusing.

Then again, as noted on the Arixystix blog, the plushie is roughly the size of a small child, so we imagine its usefulness as a parenting aid would be exceptional. Thankfully for children everywhere, it doesn't appear to be for sale ... yet.

Thankfully, according to an announcement from Jakks Pacific this morning, Microsoft has plans to release "five unique plush animals" in the first wave of Kinectimals stuffed animals coming out in Spring 2011.

Like the King Cheetah and Maltese Tiger included in the game's collector's editions, the plush animals can be scanned into Fur Town and be played with in-game to heart's content. No pricing was given in the announcement -- but can you even put a price on cuteness?

There's been a disturbing lack of press about Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility. In fact, we've probably seen and heard more about Rune Factory: Frontier than we have about Tree, which came out in Japan last year.

What we do know is that preordering the title through Amazon will get you an adorable cow plushie. Of course, it's difficult to tell when you'll actually receive the game and plush doll; Natsume lists "Summer 2008," Gamestop lists late July, Gamefly lists early August, and Amazon lists late August, to name a few of the scattered release dates.

Still, for Harvest Moon fans who were planning to buy the game anyway, a cute cow plush is a nice bonus that might make preordering through Amazon the best way to go. It's certainly not the greatest gift ever, but we think it will definitely appeal to the Harvest Moon crowd ... mostly because we're in that crowd, and we want one for ourselves.

Judging by her gallery, DeviantARTist VioletLunchell seems to specialize in these chibi-style plushes, and her latest piece of work, this Pit plushie, will resonate with anyone who found themselves turned off by the recent batch of alleged concept art for the alleged Wii game.

The artist herself confesses to "[not knowing] anything about video games," but she's done a fairly awesome job here -- this blogger would love one of these to place next to his numerous Pikmin plushes, but sadly this was a one-off commission piece. Probably a good thing, really. There comes a time when a man of 28 really has enough plushes.

Do you love your Game Boy so much that you just want to hug it to death? Then perhaps instead of a game system, you should have a plushie. These cute little handheld dolls also have sweet little facial expressions, making them all the more lovable.

The best thing about KungFuCowgirl's Etsy creations is that they're not ridiculously overpriced. They only cost $14 a pop, which is very reasonable for something handmade. We love craftsters, but we always appreciate them more when they don't exploit our gaming love for everything it's worth.

Check out this awesome rabbid plush, made by reader Michael Karpinski. As big fans of the rabbids (even if we don't always love the games), we were excited to see such an awesomely made plushie doll in their likeness.

What we love even more is this picture of a cat hugging the rabbid, not only because we love cute or funny cat pictures (which we do), but because it makes the expression on the plush's face all the more fitting.

If we had a stuffed Mario doll, we'd probably sleep with him clutched tightly against our chest. But, being the manliest of men that we are, we're too busy knifefighting and growing massive beards on our lantern-shaped jaws. Still, this kickass plush NES setup is impressive and we'll give credit where credit is due.

Poor Luigi. The lanky plumber already has enough problems dealing with his older brother always stealing the spotlight and Princess Daisy's failure to commit to a serious relationship, but now he has to worry about embarassing photos from 20 years ago resurfacing on the internet. We all have our fair share of unflattering pictures from the 80s, but the images posted for this vintage Super Mario Bros. doll auction are downright embarassing.

This 3.5'-tall toy was a promotional item from Nintendo that was never released to the general public. Head past the post break to see what the green guy looked like before he tamed his hair and trimmed his mustache. He really let himself go back then -- look at that hat!

Switch the box art, guys....a brand-new, impossibly soft plushie doll! Yes, of all games, Elebits is the first to offer an incentive to pre-order...to be honest, it probably needs it. The dolls will be either red or blue, and feature absolutely no way to tell until you actually open your box and the creature springs out to begin feasting on your brain. This action will, perhaps, increase the enjoyment of the game, but with any luck, maybe it won't be necessary.

Nice boxart for the doll, though. Is anyone considering picking this game up at launch? With one of the strongest launch lineups in video game history, it's going to be difficult to justify spending even more on this quirky little concept...
