You can <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/200010/">preorder the game right now</a> either as a standard edition, or as a "season pass," with three exclusive <em>Team Fortress 2</em> items, a downloadable soundtrack, and all of the future puzzle packs.<br /><br />Preordering the game also earns you 10 percent off, and you'll be entered into a sweepstakes to win the opportunity to have your portrait hung up in the in-game world. Snazzy! <em>Quantum Conundrum</em> will also arrive on Microsoft's XBLA and PSN, though Square is only sticking with "summer" as a date for those versions so far.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/quantum-conundrum-coming-to-pc-june-21/">Quantum Conundrum coming to PC June 21</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2012 20:00:00 EST. Axel was formerly only available as a pre-order bonus, but as of tomorrow, April 18, his vehicle <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/04/17/twisted-metal-update-axel-available-to-all-tomorrow-starhawk-sweet-tooth-skin/">will be available to all</a>. Every (new) copy of <em>Twisted Metal</em> has a code for the Outcast skin, so you'll just have to punch that in when the <em>Starhawk</em> comes out.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/17/axel-free-to-all-in-twisted-metal-tomorrow-sweet-tooth-skin-for/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Axel free to all in Twisted Metal tomorrow, Sweet Tooth skin for Starhawk previewed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/17/axel-free-to-all-in-twisted-metal-tomorrow-sweet-tooth-skin-for/">Axel free to all in Twisted Metal tomorrow, Sweet Tooth skin for Starhawk previewed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Apr 2012 22:00:00 EST. <div>
	Former Robin, Dick Grayson, has moved out from under Batman's cape to go on his own as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightwing">Nightwing</a>, but we have a feeling that Bruce would just shake his head if he saw these bangs. How are you supposed to fight crime if you can't keep that hair out of your eyes, Dick?<br />
	<br />
	At any rate, that's what Nightwing looks like in <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/batman-arkham-city"><em>Batman: Arkham City</em></a>, as <a href="http://geek-news.mtv.com/2011/10/11/play-as-nightwing-and-robin-in-november-arkham-city-dlc/">Rocksteady has confirmed</a> his <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/03/achievements-reveal-playable-nightwing-in-batman-arkham-city/">rumored appearance</a> in the title. He and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/21/batman-arkham-city-robin-playable/">Robin will be available both in preorders</a> and in their own downloadable content packs. November 1 will find Nightwing available for $6.99 or 560 Microsoft points on either Xbox 360 or PS3, along with the "Wayne Manor" and "Main Hall" challenge maps and a Nightwing Animated Series skin. Robin's pack will be available on November 22 for the same price, including "Black Mask Hideout" and "Freight Train Escape" maps -- and presumably an extra skin as well.<br />
	<br />
	Both playable characters will have their own tools and moves for knocking out the bad guys. <em>Batman: Arkham City</em> launches on Xbox 360 and PS3 on Tuesday, October 18.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/15/batman-arkham-citys-nightwing-could-use-a-haircut/">Batman: Arkham City's Nightwing could use a haircut</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 15 Oct 2011 18:30:00 EST. In an effort to prove that Sony <em>ain't the boss o' them</em>, <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/accessories/playstation-3d-display/92829">Gamestop</a> will be bundling <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Resistance-3"><em>Resistance 3</em></a> with each pre-order for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/06/sony-replaces-resistance-3-with-motorstorm-apocalypse-in-3dtv-b/">now-<em>MotorStorm</em>-infused</a> PlayStation-branded 3DTV, launching this November. It's also possible that Gamestop is simply honoring its existing pre-orders while sweetening the pot to attract new buyers, but where's the fun in that?<br />
<br />
As weird as pre-ordering a <em>television set</em> is, having two 3D-capable games certainly adds a little extra something to deal, and when you're spending $500 on anything it's important to get your money's worth. It will be interesting to see if other retailers follow suit, but considering the fact that this is a 24-inch 3DTV, we doubt potential buyers will have room for anything larger than another disc.<br />
<br />
[Thanks, MLC!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/06/gamestop-bundling-resistance-3-with-playstation-3dtv-anyway-if/">Gamestop bundling Resistance 3 with PlayStation 3DTV anyway (if you preorder)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 06 Aug 2011 17:00:00 EST. Ubisoft has announced that the latest iteration in the seminal fantasy strategy series, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/might-and-magic-heroes-6">Might &amp; Magic Heroes 6</a></em>, will get a closed beta starting up on June 28. The announcement trailer for the beta is posted after the break and, as you can see, it features plenty of updated mechanics and gameplay systems, new graphics, and lots of strategy nerdery to geek out with.<br />
<br />
Pre-ordering the game early will get you access into the beta, which means you'll get to see both single- and multiplayer content before the game arrives in stores on September 8.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/02/might-and-magic-heroes-6-beta-starts-on-june-28-pre-orders-in-fir/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Might &amp; Magic Heroes 6 beta starts on June 28, pre-orders in first</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/02/might-and-magic-heroes-6-beta-starts-on-june-28-pre-orders-in-fir/">Might &amp; Magic Heroes 6 beta starts on June 28, pre-orders in first</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 Jun 2011 06:02:00 EST. Valve has announced that if you pre-order the upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/call-of-juarez-the-cartel"><em>Call of Juarez: The Cartel</em></a> on Steam, you'll get a copy of 2009's <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/call-of-juarez-bound-in-blood"><em>Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood</em></a> for free. Just like a few other previous Steam pre-order deals (<em>Portal 2</em>'s granted a copy of the first game ), you'll be able to <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/5545/">give the game away to someone else</a> if you already happen to have a copy of <em>Bound in Blood</em> of your own.<br />
<br />
That's not all: a Steam pre-order will also get you two exclusive in-game weapons, though it's not yet been revealed exactly what those are. Hey -- maybe a chicken cannon. Because, y'know, it's ... <em>a</em> <em>chicken cannon</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/26/pre-order-call-of-juarez-the-cartel-on-steam-get-bound-in-bloo/">Pre-order Call of Juarez: The Cartel on Steam, get Bound in Blood free</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 26 May 2011 01:00:00 EST. OnLive has announced that the service will be offering the upcoming <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/deus-ex-human-revolution">Deus Ex: Human Revolution</a> </em>as a streaming title day-and-date with the retail release, and users who pre-order the game will <a href="http://www.onlive.com/go/deusex">get all kinds of goodies</a>. First, ponying up cash in advance for any flavor of the game will net a free copy of the original <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/deus-ex"><em>Deus Ex</em>: <em>Game of the Year</em></a> for play via the service.<br />
<br />
Secondly, pre-ordering the Augmented Edition of the game (for $53.99 rather than the standard $44.99, and packing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/30/deus-ex-human-revolution-augmented-edition-and-pre-order-pack/">its own goodies</a>) will get you an OnLive game system to play it on, free of charge. If you already have a MicroConsole, you can choose a free game. That's not a bad deal at all, especially if you were considering getting <em>Human Revolution</em> in the first place.<br />
<br />
The free game deal has to be redeemed by next Wednesday, May 25, but according to the fine print, the console deal is valid right up until <em>Deus Ex: Human Revolution</em>'s release on August 23.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/19/deus-ex-human-revolution-coming-to-onlive-free-microconsole-an/">Deus Ex: Human Revolution coming to OnLive, free MicroConsole and original Deus Ex with pre-order</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 May 2011 19:30:00 EST. Walmart is offering up two exclusives on pre-orders for upcoming games this week. First up, Ubisoft's <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/michael-jackson-the-experience"><em>Michael Jackson: The Experience</em></a> is <a href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/Michael-Jackson-The-Experience-Walmart-Xbox-360-Xbox-360/15940283">available for pre-order</a> on Xbox 360 and PS3 via retailer's site right now. Not only is the game on sale for $46.54, but you'll get the exclusive track <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_Pow-Kvc34">"Another Part of Me"</a> -- featured in <em>Captain EO</em> and in the old <em>Moonwalker</em> arcade game -- as part of the deal.<br />
<br />
There's also a promotion going down with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/socom-4/"><em>SOCOM 4</em></a>, where you can <a href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/SOCOM-4-Walmart-PS3-PlayStation-3/15914544">pre-order the game</a> and get an exclusive SU90-S Shotgun to use right away (as opposed to, say, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/27/socom-4-is-so-coming-on-april-19th-gamestop-gets-exclusive-map/">GameStop's exclusive map</a>). Let's see: a gun or an entire map? <em>Hmmm</em> ...<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/31/walmart-com-lists-socom-4-michael-jackson-the-experience-pre-o/">Walmart.com lists SOCOM 4, Michael Jackson: The Experience pre-order exclusives</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 Mar 2011 02:00:00 EST. The beta client for Maxis' <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/darkspore"><em>Darkspore</em></a> is now available on Steam -- you can click through <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/99890/">on the preorder page</a> to install and check it out. We liked the look of the game both in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/20/darkspore-preview/">the intial preview</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/darkspore-preview/">in our look at PvP</a>, so if the idea of taking some <em>Spore</em> creatures out for a <em>Diablo</em> walk appeals, go give it a shot. The beta features both four-player co-op and either 1v1 or 2v2 PvP as well.<br />
<br />
Steam is also offering a deal on preorder -- if you buy four copies of the game, you can get them all for the price of three. So if you've got three buddies who enjoy playing the beta with you, you can all get the final game for a nice discount when it hits.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/28/darkspore-goes-into-beta-on-steam-available-as-3-for-4-preorder/">Darkspore goes into beta on Steam, available as 3-for-4 preorder</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Mar 2011 21:00:00 EST. Let's be honest -- you're buying <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/portal-2"><em>Portal 2</em></a> (who isn't, right?) and, since it's a Valve game, you probably want to just pick it up on Steam, right? Not so fast -- GameStop is going to do its best to convince you otherwise. The retail chain is offering <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=77276">both a $5 discount</a> on the Aperture Science training program emulator as well as the chance to get two exclusive "custom bots" for the multiplayer co-op portion of the game if you preorder with them.<br />
<br />
What do said bots look like? We don't yet know -- what you see above is what we've got so far. They could be black instead of white, or even branded with official GameStop employee t-shirts (actually, that might be pretty rad). But the thought of extra content, GameStop hopes, might be enough to entice you away from a digital download, and back to buying an actual disc at a retail store. Let's be honest with ourselves: If you're the kind of person who's pre-ordering <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/civilization-5"><em>Civilization V</em></a>, you're probably the strategizin' type. You likely called around, made comparisons (maybe even put together a spreadsheet -- we won't judge), and then chose the most strategically fortuituous preorder that you possibly could, finding the perfect balance of cost and value for your money.<br />
<br />
But just like all of those late game German Panzers, Direct2Drive is throwing a last-minute wrench in the gears. <a href="http://www.direct2drive.com/4/9620/product/Buy-Sid-Meier%E2%80%99s-Civilization-V-Digital-Deluxe-Edition-Download">Preorder <em>Civ V </em>via it</a>, and you'll get immediate and free access to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization_III">the classic <em>Civ III</em></a>, the last iteration in the series to stay 2D, largely viewed as one of the best versions of the game. Plus, D2D preorders also get the new game's first bit of Scenario Pack DLC for free.<br />
<br />
That's a good deal. Of course, if you want to preorder the new <em>Civ</em>, you probably have the old <em>Civ</em> collecting dust somewhere on a shelf. But you might at least add this deal to your spreadsheet, just to see how it balances out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/14/direct2drive-offering-free-civ-3-with-civ-5-pre-order/">Direct2Drive offering free Civ 3 with Civ 5 pre-order</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 Sep 2010 07:15:00 EST. Valve has officially announced that 2K Games' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock-2"><em>BioShock 2</em></a> will be available for purchase on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/steam">Steam</a> -- you can <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/8859/">pre-purchase the game right now</a>, and it'll be unlocked for play on February 9, 2010, day and date with the rest of the world. The current price is $44.99, a slight discount from the boxed version, and that includes a Steam copy of the original <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock"><em>BioShock</em></a> as well, which you can "kindly" give to a friend if you happen to already have it. Or you can nab four licenses for you and three friends for $134.97, with each of you getting to play the original also.<br />
<br />
Sure, it's a good deal if you're not concerned with "discs" or "physical media," but does it come with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/19/bioshock-2-special-edition-vinyl-y-announced/">a vinyl LP of the game's original soundtrack</a>? Didn't think so, boy-o.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/19/bioshock-2-now-available-for-prepurchase-on-steam/">BioShock 2 now available for prepurchase on Steam</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Jan 2010 23:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/aliens-vs-predator/"><em>Aliens vs. Predator</em></a> is kind of a misleading title. Aside from the titular extra-terrestrials, mankind's future badasses, the Colonial Marines, will also be able to <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S06nIz4scvI">get some</a> in Rebellion's upcoming FPS romp. And for some of <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74651">your pre-sale cash at GameStop</a>, you'll be able to use one of the more badasserer (we're still working on that one) humans around: Sgt. Kaneko. This dude "wrote the book on small-scale Xeno containment," which is great because we hear there's a lot of Xeno in the game that needs, uh, containing.<br />
<br />
Joining Kaneko are Number Six -- the blue thing on the left that looks like it's from <em>The Darkness</em> -- and Alien Head Predator, the "most successful Xenomorph Hunter of all time." That's how <strike>he</strike> <strike>she</strike> it got that neat Cylon mask! Both are very adept at being <em>super </em>scary-looking and can be yours if you pre-order at GameStop. Unless you live in Germany, in which case you get <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/11/aliens-vs-predator-not-releasing-in-germany/">nothing</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/18/unlock-skins-with-aliens-vs-predator-pre-order-at-gamestop/">Unlock skins with Aliens vs. Predator pre-order at GameStop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Nov 2009 21:30:00 EST. If you're looking to add a dash of '80s flair to your <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tony-hawk-ride"><em>Tony Hawk Ride</em></a> experience, you can either glue the skateboard peripheral onto one of those <a href="http://www.soulboards.com/">longboards</a>, or you could just pre-order the game at GameStop. Those who choose the latter will gain access to the <em>80s Quicksilver Level</em>, which is said to include a "Vert Ramp challenge sandwiched between two 747's on the runway of the Frankfurt Airport decked out in Quiksilver 80's theme including Tony Hawk himself." We guess Germany loves <em>two</em> things, then: David Hasselhoff and '80s-themed skateboard challenges. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=94583">Go Nintendo</a>]<br />

<div align="left">Now here's a novel idea: Preorder <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/a-boy-and-his-blob">A Boy and His Blob</a> </em>at <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75698">GameStop</a> and receive ... a blob. Well, at least something that looks like the blob from the game's title. In actuality, it's one of those foam rubber stress-relief balls. Only shaped like <strike>a</strike> <em>the</em> blob -- and far more cute.<br />
<br />
Note that -- thankfully -- the bonus is just the blob and does not include a boy, foam rubber or otherwise. Girls who preorder the game also get the blob, but are able to claim they're "a girl and her blob," which would probably make a good title for the sequel.<br />
<br />
<em>A Boy and His Blob </em>is out on October 13 and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/02/a-boy-and-his-blobs-new-screenshots-warm-our-hearts/">looks gorgeous</a>.</div>

If you're a diehard B.J. Blazkowicz fan looking to pre-order id's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/14/activision-confirms-delay-of-wolfenstein-to-week-beginning-augu/">recently delayed</a> WWII FPS, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wolfenstein"><em>Wolfenstein</em></a>, then know a few outlets are offering exclusive pre-order bonuses. According to the game's <a href="http://www.wolfenstein.com/blog/804">official site</a>, four different retailers will provide extra incentive to pre-purchase:<br />

Square Enix is set to unload <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dragon-quest-ix"><em>Dragon Quest IX</em></a> onto the Japanese populace this week and it's apparently a <em>big deal</em> over there. A report (via <a href="http://www.inside-games.jp/news/362/36247.html">Inside Games</a>) shows the title has over two million pre-orders across various retailers in the country. It just blows our minds, because Japan has never been that fond of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Quest"><em>Dragon Quest</em></a> franchise.<br />
<br />
So, for those of you keeping score on your Craz-o-meters, this is basically Gary Busey-level stuff we're talking about here. It's like running around in the street with no pants on, screaming that you're the person responsible for velcro technology and the Aurora Borealis.<br />

The bonus is a <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2009/04/17/muramasa-the-demon-art-scroll/">five-foot-long scroll</a> featuring a series of amazing pieces of character art from the game.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=73359&amp;affID=77777&amp;sourceID=aOUs5qjvzDc-ljOEfzkqfgdgl4LaYIE_QQ">GameStop</a> has just revealed the North American pre-order bonus, and it's <em>exactly that!</em> We couldn't be more thrilled. Well, we <em>could</em> be more thrilled if <em>two</em> things happened: <br />
<ol>
    <li>We confirmed that the back of the scroll had the same enemy and stage artwork as the Japanese version</li>
    <li>We found out that GameStop's September 1 release date (a Tuesday!) was the real release date for the game.</li>
</ol>
We've contacted Ignition about those two points. In the meantime, we can all enjoy the prospect of getting a really nice-looking free thing by buying another thing.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/29/muramasa-the-gamestop-preorder-bonus/">Muramasa: the GameStop preorder bonus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 29 Jun 2009 13:25:00 EST. Yesterday, we learned that it would include a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/24/metroid-prime-trilogy-packaging-cooler-than-a-chozo-suit/">lovely tin and an artbook</a>, and now <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74982">GameStop</a> has just revealed that copies pre-ordered from the retailer will <em>also</em> come with a free t-shirt! It also comes with <em>video games</em>!<br /><br />In our opinion, the shirt looks pretty great (we're assuming it's not all dithered in real life like it is in the picture), even with the logo on the side, and even with the added baggage of identifying you as a GameStop shopper. The offer is valid for both in-store and online pre-orders. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/">Metroid Prime Trilogy box</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105167"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogyfrontmetal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105166"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogyfront2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105164"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogybackmetal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105163"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogyback2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105160"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogybonus_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/25/pre-order-metroid-prime-trilogy-at-gamestop-get-surprisingly-ni/">Pre-order Metroid Prime Trilogy at GameStop, get surprisingly nice t-shirt</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Jun 2009 19:15:00 EST. These bonuses shouldn't require the box to be any bigger than the normal version, because with two exceptions, nothing in the pack is <em>physical</em>.<br /><br />The Limited Edition comes with an exclusive car pack, featuring "5 cars that have been hand tuned and hand painted by the developers at Turn 10 to fly the Forza Motorsport colors," a Dashboard theme, and a "VIP Membership" that entitles the user to "special treatment within the online Auction House, Community Storefront and on the Forzamotorsport.net forums." The tangible items in the pack: a 2GB USB drive and a keychain, both emblazoned with <em>Forza 3</em> logos. In addition, reserving the game provides access to the "community designed and chosen, Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro." <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/forza-motorsport-3/">Forza Motorsport 3</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/forza-motorsport-3/#2058141"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/fm3_e3_r8_6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/forza-motorsport-3/#2058142"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/fm3_e3_r8_8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/forza-motorsport-3/#2058143"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/fm3_e3_r8_10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/forza-motorsport-3/#2058144"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/fm3_e3_scuderia_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/forza-motorsport-3/#2058135"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/fm3_e3_aston_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/19/forza-3-limited-edition-is-loaded-with-mostly-virtual-bonuses/">Forza 3 limited edition is loaded with mostly virtual bonuses</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Jun 2009 10:08:00 EST. Anxious to secure a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/18/nintendo-launching-dsi-in-north-america-on-april-5/">Nintendo DSi</a> without having to wait in some crazy line? Online retailers have begun taking pre-orders of the North American version of the system, so you can buy now and not have to worry about stalking Wal-Mart late April 4 to be first in line on April 5 (You are free, as usual, to stalk Wal-Mart for other purposes). You can order your DSi for $169.99 at <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TADAC0?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B001TADAC0">Amazon</a> or GameStop (in <a href="http://is.gd/k01U">black</a> or <a href="http://is.gd/k02v">blue</a>). If you want extra stuff, you can order a bundle from GameStop (again in <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74034">black</a> or <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74035">blue</a>) that contains the system and a "<a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=804002">Folio Starter Kit</a>" consisting of a case, screen protectors, a game case, earbuds, and a car adapter.<br /><br />For a better look at the system that you <em>might</em> be buying, check MTV Multiplayer's <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/02/18/30-minutes-with-the-american-nintendo-ds-i/">first-ever images</a> of the English-language DSi menu. As expected, it looks exactly like the menu from the Japanese version with the crucial addition of comprehensible text. It features the same photo manipulation, photo arranging, and sound altering functions from the original suite of DSi software, along with upgradeable firmware and, of course, the DSi Shop.<br /><br /><br />

Trainers anxious to <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/02/09/boost-your-dex-with-the-toys-r-us-shaymin-download-event/">beef up their Pokedex</a> will get a chance when North America finally gets its hands on <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/tag/pokemon-platinum"><em>Pokemon Platinum</em></a> on March 22. For those that drop some money on the game early, Nintendo is set to gift them with a limited edition Giratina Origin Form figure. <br /><br />The figure is crafted by Kaiyodo, an international figure-making company, and is about 2.75 inches tall. The press release mentions no exact retailers participating in this event, so it's advised you call ahead before pre-ordering the game somewhere. Still, safe bet is on Gamestop, at least, and maybe the bigger retailers like Best Buy.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/11/pokemon-platinum-pre-order-gives-trainers-limited-giratina-origi/">Pokemon Platinum pre-order gives trainers limited Giratina Origin Form figure</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 12:28:00 EST. For those of you that decide to go the way of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=gamestop">Gamestop</a> for your copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/16/this-just-in-gta-chinatown-wars-to-sell-lots/"><em>GTA: Chinatown Wars</em></a>, know that a pre-order will net you some perks starting out in the game. For one, you're gifted with $10,000 in cash. That'll come in handy, too, because you'll also be starting the game with every weapon unlocked. No better way to spend that 10K than towards an AK, right?<br /><br /><em>Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars</em> releases to North America on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/15/chinatown-wars-releases-on-march-17th/">March 17th, 2009</a>.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/17/gamestop-gta-pre-order-provides-in-game-rewards/">Gamestop GTA pre-order provides in-game rewards</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Dec 2008 16:41:00 EST. Remember that awesome <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/20/house-of-the-dead-overkill-gets-euro-release-date-collectors/">European collector's edition</a> for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/house-of-the-dead-overkill/"><em>House of the Dead: Overkill</em></a>? Well, those of us in the US are getting a similarly sweet bonus package should we wish to part with the extra dough, however our comic doesn't come in the traditional form. Instead, it's a digital download, according to Amazon. In poking around the net, though, we found that <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=72474">Gamestop is offering the comic</a>, but in actual paper form. We're all kinds of confused now!<br /><br />We all know <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/24/north-america-also-getting-house-of-the-dead-overkill-bonus/">North America will be getting the collector's edition</a>. However, we're not certain on whether it'll be a paper comic or a download. If it's different for each retailer, we're sad to say that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gamestop">Gamestop</a> is in the lead for our pre-order dollar right now. We'd rather have an actual comic we can hold in our hands than one we're forced to read on a computer screen. We're just old school like that.<br /><br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://www.wearebindle.com">Buffalo_AAA</a>!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/10/us-gets-overkill-collectors-edition-with-less-cool-extras/">US gets Overkill collector's edition with less cool extras?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Dec 2008 15:31:00 EST. <br />The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/house-of-the-dead"><em>House of the Dead: Overkill</em></a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/20/house-of-the-dead-overkill-gets-euro-release-date-collectors/">collector's edition</a> bundle is one of the best preorder items we've seen in a while, so it was understandably upsetting when Sega <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/20/house-of-the-dead-overkill-gets-euro-release-date-collectors/">initially revealed</a> the package as a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/europe">Europe</a>-only bonus. <br />Sega will release <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/house-of-the-dead"><em>The House of the Dead: Overkill</em></a> in Europe next February, and there'll be an optional bonus at "selected retailers" for fans who preorder: this rad Collector's Edition. Arriving in a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/house-of-the-dead-overkill/1174346/full/">fetching minimalist slipcase</a> (loving the authentic <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/22/house-of-the-amazing-swag/">scuff marks</a>), this will come bundled with a graphic novel that tells the stories of Agent Washington and Varla Gunns, and the events that lead up to the game.<br /><br />Here's the downside: this sweet package has so far only been announced for PAL regions -- apart from Germany, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/19/madworld-house-of-the-dead-overkill-wont-be-released-in-germa/">obviously</a>. Like other Sega games we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/30/sega-superstars-tennis-piles-on-the-jet-set-radio-references/">could</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/gc-2008-left-right-chu-chu-ulala-in-samba/">mention</a>, <em>Phantasy Star Online</em> titles have a proud history of including cute and funny references to other Sega properties. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/27/a-closer-look-at-new-phantasy-star-zero-loot/"><em>Phantasy Star Zero</em></a> will be no exception. Ahead of the game's Japanese release on December 25th, those who preorder will receive cards that unlock in-game items from other Sega games.<br /><br />We were slightly disappointed (though not surprised) to hear the cards only grant weapons from more <em>current</em> Sega releases. These will include <em>Valkyria Chronicles</em> (PS3), <em>Shining Wind</em> (2007 ARPG for the PS2), <em>Hatsune Miku Project Diva</em> (PSP), and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/popular-manga-blazes-way-to-ds-as-an-rpg/"><em>Blazer Drive</em></a>, Sega's manga/RPG crossover that is also out in Japan in December. Sure, none of that stuff is going to be as funny as wielding <a href="http://www.ragol.co.uk/weapons/EEVAkyykykZFocRTST.shtml">Ulala's zapper</a> or <a href="http://www.ragol.co.uk/weapons/EpZuFulZyAnHeGJJno.shtml">Samba's maracas</a> or <a href="http://www.ragol.co.uk/armor/EpAyuZAkEEqoTBFEUy.shtml">Chu Chu armor</a>, but it's still fairly neat, right?<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/30/start-collecting-rare-weapons-already-in-phantasy-star-zero/">Start collecting rare weapons already in Phantasy Star Zero</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 Oct 2008 18:00:00 EST. They have -- well, <em>he</em> has, we suppose -- become an unofficial mascot for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/22/stare-death-in-the-face-in-castlevania-judgment/"><em>Castlevania Judgment</em></a>, first as a rather expensive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/19/simon-belmonts-shorts-immortalized-in-new-figurine/">figurine</a> sold through Konamistyle, and now as the focal point of this "laser cel" being given away as a preorder bonus by GameStop.<br /><br />The background, featuring Aeon, certainly looks cool, as does the color scheme in general. You can see Alucard in his new finery standing back-to-back with Simon. But it's clear that the star of the show is Simon Belmont and his shorts. Even though we regard Activision as greedy for its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/17/activision-considering-subscriptions-for-guitar-hero-dlc/">approach</a> to downloadable content and subscription models, we have to confess we're impressed by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/guitar-hero-world-tour-2/819818/"><em>Guitar Hero World Tour</em></a>'s preorder gift of a <em>totally free guitar</em>.<br /><br />The company just announced the scheme, but don't get too excited, because there are a couple of disclaimers to this. One: <em>as far as we can tell</em>, this is currently a UK-only offer (one that includes all online and high street retailers). Two: you do have to buy the full band set, which is currently going for around &pound;150 at most online stores; still, this does allow you to have a bass player in your band from the get-go. Here, Activision, have some <em>props</em> from us.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/18/activision-giving-away-free-guitar-with-world-tour-preorders/">Activision giving away free guitar with World Tour preorders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Sep 2008 15:28:00 EST. <br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-wiispeak-to-be-sold-separately-for-29-99/">WiiSpeak</a> isn't the kind of thing we can imagine selling in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wii-fit"><em>Wii Fit</em></a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/08/wii-fit-preorders-jog-away-from-retailers/">quantities</a>, but it's getting hard to tell nowadays. Maybe the microphone add-on and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/08/animal-crossing-wiispeak-bundle-gets-priced/"><em>Animal Crossing: City Folk</em></a> will be overshadowed by the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/13/wii-music-dated-for-us/">other</a> </em>big first-party release of November, and supplies will be plentiful, but why take the risk? You can now <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/preorder">preorder</a> your own WiiSpeak at <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-RVL-A-MU-Speak/dp/B001EZ8IBS?&amp;camp=211189&amp;linkCode=wsw&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;creative=373489&amp;link_code=as3">Amazon</a>, and rest assured that you'll be able to bitch behind Nook's back with your Wii Friends from day one. You can put down that syringe full of bear hormones - EA's got a much easier (and more affordable!) way of transforming yourself into that most noble of Mother Nature's creatures: simply don <em>Korssar's Helm</em>. You see, the "magical Kislevite helm is imbued with the spirit of the wild North and will magically transform the wearer into a ferocious bear."<br /><br />There are some caveats however: your ability to live your life as a bear will be limited to the <em>virtual</em> confines of EA Mythic's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Warhammer-Online/">Warhammer Online</a></em> MMO (a deal breaker for some, to be sure) and those willing to confine their bearness to <em>WAR</em> will still need to preorder<em> Command &amp; Conquer: Red Alert 3</em> on PC to access the magical helm. Preorder cross-promotion? Clever move, EA. Great to see publishers <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/03/royal-treatment-prince-of-persia-limited-edition-free-for-pre/">further incentivizing preorders</a> ... but we're sure there's at least a handful of WAR-heads eager to play as a bear (a bear!) but uninterested in picking up <em>Red Alert 3</em>. In other words: don't throw away those bear hormones just yet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/03/dont-be-bear-naked-in-warhammer-online-preorder-red-alert-3/">Don't be bear naked in Warhammer Online; preorder Red Alert 3!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 03 Sep 2008 14:58:00 EST. Europe, rejoice! You're not being left out in the cold. Those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/05/littlebigplanet-pre-order-bonuses-are-terrifyingly-awesome/">amazing <em>LittleBigPlanet</em> preorder bonuses</a> will be available on both sides of the Atlantic. So far, we've spotted Nariko hanging out <a href="http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/3433970/-/Product.html?searchstring=little+big+planet&amp;searchsource=0">over at Play.com</a>, but there's no sign of any of the others. At least, not <em>yet.</em> The Nariko Sackgirl (who is actually a Sackboy playing dress up, but don't let that put you off) is downloadable via the PlayStation Network. Instructions will be sent out during the week of release, according to Play.com, so don't expect to be playing with your new heavenly pal on launch day. <br />
<br />

Yesterday, NCSX opened <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/12/preorders-open-for-japanese-wii-music/">preorders</a> for Japanese copies of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Wii-Music/">Wii Music</a></em>, which is officially coming out October 16. We haven't gotten an official US date beyond '<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-wii-music-this-year-with-balance-board-support/">Holiday 2008</a>,' but two retailers seem to have agreed upon a potential date: November 3. Both <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Music-Nintendo/dp/B001DO3NEW/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1218651186&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon</a> and <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=72067">GameStop</a> are taking preorders for the multiplayer musical toy thing, to ship (as of now, anyway) on that projected release date. Gamefly says <a href="http://www.gamefly.com/products/search.asp?k=wii+music&amp;pf=&amp;sub=1&amp;sb=mostpop&amp;spsrch.x=0&amp;spsrch.y=0">October 29</a>, which is very strange: Gamefly's release dates tend to be <em>behind</em> the real date, not ahead of it.<br /><br />With the holiday season rapidly approaching, we're sure Nintendo will date or delay <em>Wii Music</em> soon, but for now, we can look forward to the shortages kicking off on November 3.<br /><br /><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.omgnintendo.com/article/102632/wii-music-up-for-pre-order-at-amazon-com-release-november-3rd/">OMGNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/13/wii-music-dated-for-us/">Wii Music dated for US?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Aug 2008 19:20:00 EST. Konami's Japanese special edition of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/castlevania-boxart-order-of-colada/">Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia</a>,</em> consisting of the game, a soundtrack CD, and a leather book cover with a notebook, is <em>way</em> awesome. It's currently only available for preorder from the Japanese Konamistyle store at a cost of 8,410 yen ($77), but the use of the English title and logo on the book cover is a <em>very</em> promising sign. <br /><br />This is just the latest piece of leather to be associated with the series -- Simon Belmont's original costume was <em>totally</em> leather, as is the original form of Vampire Killer (and the <a href="http://www.konami.com/Konami/ctl3810/cp20117/si1651423/cl1/castlevania_whip">version</a> sold online) and, of course, Koji Igarashi's hat.<br /><br />See also: Promotional Consideration: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/09/promotional-consideration-behind-the-boxart/">Behind the Boxart</a><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1217351_1124.html">Famitsu</a>]<br />
