Relentless Software is the UK company behind <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/blue-toad-murder-files">Blue Toad Murder Files</a></em> for the PSN and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/quiz-climber"><em>Quiz Climber</em> </a>for iOS, and it recently announced that it is opening up a new "Digital Division" to expand its various releases through digital distribution.<br />
<br />
The Digital Division is separate from the console department inside the company, and going forward, Executive Director Andrew Eades says that it will "steer" original IP from the company in both social and mobile spaces. Relentless has also hired a former EA producer named James Wright, and he says that opening the division will "bring more fun, accessible and ground-breaking titles across several platforms for non-gamers."<br />
<br />
Up next for Relentless, the company plans a version of <em>Quiz Climber</em> called <em>Rivals</em>, the console side of the company will continue to grow the <em><a href="http://www.relentless.co.uk/games/the-buzz-franchise/">Buzz!</a></em> quiz game franchise for Sony, and Relentless says it has lots of other unannounced projects in progress at this time.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/28/relentless-software-launches-digital-division-more-titles-comin/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Relentless Software launches Digital Division, more titles coming soon</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/28/relentless-software-launches-digital-division-more-titles-comin/">Relentless Software launches Digital Division, more titles coming soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 Dec 2011 04:00:00 EST. <div style="text-align: right;"><small>[<em>Daigasso! Band Brothers</em> &amp; <em>Daigasso! Band Brothers DX</em>]</small></div>
Nintendo of Europe released its summer lineup today, featuring dates we mostly know -- <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/super-mario-galaxy-2">Super Mario Galaxy 2</a></em> on June 11 -- or aren't terribly concerned with -- <em>Repetto Presents Ballerina</em> in May. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/metroid-other-m">Metroid: Other M</a></em> is still undated, having been slated for Q3, and therefore out of the bounds of the new listing. <br />
<br />
However, there are a few welcome surprises, most notably: <em>Jam with the Band</em>. Originally released way back in 2004 as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daigasso!_Band_Brothers"><em>Daigasso! Band Bros.</em></a>, this rhythm game disappeared from Nintendo's launch lineup elsewhere, never making it to the West until now. We don't know why Nintendo decided to revive it <em>now --</em> or if it's the first game or the sequel (both covers pictured above) -- but it's scheduled for release in Europe on May 21! <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/samurai-warriors-3"><em>Samurai Warriors 3</em></a> for Wii has been dated for May 28, as well.<br />
<br />
Nintendo has also dated Capcom's <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mega-man-zero-collection">Mega Man Zero Collection</a></em> for June. The release date for this DS compilation of GBA <em>Mega Man</em> games had been up in the air following the announcement of its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/26/mega-man-zero-collection-delayed-in-japan/">delay</a> in Japan. Also, a previously unannounced DS title from Hudson, <em>Shooting Watch</em>, is set for release in May. We assume this is based on Hudson's <a href="http://www.ncsx.com/2008/121508/shooting_watch.htm">Shooting Watch</a> toy, which measures the number of button presses you can achieve in 10 seconds.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/08/jam-with-the-band-headed-to-europe-after-5-year-wait/">'Jam with the Band' headed to Europe after 5-year wait; other Nintendo releases dated</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Apr 2010 14:59:00 EST. Gamasutra wasn't able to get its hands on year-to-date PSN sales data directly from Sony, but it has <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/27260/InDepth_North_American_PlayStation_Network_Sales_Analysis_January_2010.php">come up with some interesting conclusions</a> based on an unscientific look at ... leaderboard stats. The site broke down January's new releases, as well as a few other games that sold well last month, and the big debut of the month appears to be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/hustle-kings"><em>Hustle Kings</em></a>, which added over 39,000 players to its ranks. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/assault-heroes"><em>Assault Heroes</em></a> only picked up 754 new players, but given that it's a game that actually came out in 2006 on the Xbox, that's not a big surprise. PSN also offered up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/21/psn-thursday-10-for-10-sale-on-select-psn-games/">its "10 for '10" sale</a> in January, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/uno"><em>Uno</em></a> came away from that event with a whopping 87,000 new players on its leaderboards. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/braid"><em>Braid</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/critter-crunch"><em>Critter Crunch</em></a> also did well, adding 20,000 and 17,000 new players to their leaderboards, respectively.<br />
<br />
Keep in mind that these numbers are far from official, and not complete anyway -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/vandal-hearts-flames-of-judgment"><em>Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/thexder-neo"><em>Thexder Neo</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/matt-hazard"><em>Matt Hazard</em></a> were released on PSN last month, and none of those games are included in this analysis, due to unreliable or nonexistent leaderboards. But it is probably fair to say that PSN had a pretty good month in January, especially with the games featured in its "10 for '10" sale. More of that, please.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/psn-leaderboards-point-to-top-game-downloads-for-january/">PSN leaderboards point to top game downloads for January</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Feb 2010 20:45:00 EST. Over the weekend, EA Sports <a href="http://insideblog.easports.com/archive/2010/02/06/introducing-the-ea-sports-game-changers-program.aspx">announced a new community influencers program</a> that it's calling "Game Changers" -- the idea is that the publisher will choose big EA sports fans who use their online community know-how "to improve the experience and overall growth of the EA SPORTS Community." Presumably, you have to yell "EA Sports" whenever you say it, which would be why the name is in all caps. The chosen few will get early access to EA games, as well as represent the community while giving feedback on future releases.<br />
<br />
They've picked nine guys (no girls) so far, all of whom are active in the various EA communities and forums. They've also posted <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4vxdnGdHaY&amp;feature=player_embedded#">a video of the program's kickoff</a>, and while we were totally going to make fun of it for sounding like a cliched sports team ("It's the dream of a lifetime, we just go out there to do our best" and so on), that <a href="http://twitter.com/Anton32">Anton B</a> dude actually gets a little choked up at the end after being honored with Game Changer of the Month. So all right, Anton, we get it. This Game Changers thing may not mean too much to the rest of us (just like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/03/30/xbox-live-ambassadors-announced/">the Xbox Ambassador program</a>, it's just a way for the company to connect directly with their community), but everybody's got to have their thing, and this is yours. Rock on for that.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/17/ea-sports-honors-game-changers-in-its-online-communities/">EA Sports honors 'Game Changers' in its online communities</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Feb 2010 05:00:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">
	THQ's Brian Farrell has revealed on today's investor conference call that the company is planning to revisit some of its most successful franchises as far away as the fiscal year of 2012 (which would be sometime after March 2011), including <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/03/darksiders-rides-into-1-2-million-homes-thq-financially-recover/">this year's bestseller</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/darksiders"><em>Darksiders</em></a>, and the popular <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/saints-row"><em>Saint's Row</em></a> franchise. Farrell says the company is looking to fiscal 2012 for "accelerated growth with three major core game titles scheduled: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhammer-40k-space-marine"><em>Warhammer 40k Space Marine</em></a>, a sequel to <em>Darksiders</em> and the third generation of our popular <em>Saint's Row</em> franchise."</div>
<br />
Given that these are more than a year away, we don't have any more information besides the fact that they're planned for release (Who will <em>Darksiders</em> ape next? Will <em>Saint's Row</em> finally <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l_YN-yRCVY">solve all of those bugs</a>?). But news of sequels for both games will be welcomed by their respective fans.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/03/darksiders-saints-row-sequels-from-thq-in-fiscal-2012/">Darksiders, Saint's Row sequels from THQ in fiscal 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 03 Feb 2010 18:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/capcom">Capcom</a> spoke <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/4237/thirdparty_publishers_react_to_.php">to Gamasutra recently</a> about the difficulty in taking advantage of the Wii's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/05/nintendo-celebrates-ds-wii-software-sales-milestones-in-europe/">huge user base</a> -- it and other third-party developers have struggled for a long time to sell games to the casual folks who bought Nintendo's console, and Capcom's senior director of communications <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/chris-kramer">Chris Kramer</a> says it hasn't gotten any easier. "If you're not <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo">Nintendo</a>," he says frankly, "it does seem harder to make money on the Wii today compared to the PS3 and the Xbox 360."<br />
<br />
So what's the solution? Fewer titles, higher quality. Kramer promises that Capcom will release fewer titles on the Wii in 2010, and that the few that do hit store shelves "will be much larger, event-size games." And he expects that other major developers will follow suit: You'll see "fewer games from the major third parties, like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft." If third parties don't see sales on the console, says Kramer, they'll stop developing for it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/08/capcom-wii-is-a-tough-market-to-crack/">Capcom: Wii is 'a tough market to crack'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Jan 2010 20:30:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Just another American PSN update today. A little better than normal updates perhaps, thanks to the inclusion of <span style="font-style: italic;">Fat Princess</span>, but it's also a red letter day. As I'll be moving on next week, it's the last time this blogger will be handling the weekly PSN updates -- both American and <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/07/29/european-psn-releases-for-july-30/">European</a> -- after <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2007/05/10/calling-all-cars-due-for-release-tonight/">over two years</a>. Wow, updates were different back then. <br /><br />Don't worry, though, you'll be in the safe hands of Alexander Sliwinski, who I took over this very post from back when Joystiq underwent restructuring in January. Anyway, what are you still doing here? You've got weighty princesses to rescue!<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">Do not adjust your computer internet monitor screens! Yes, today <span style="font-style: italic;">is</span> Wednesday. We know, it's confusing, but you'd best get used to it. SCEE intends on giving us a <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/07/28/%E2%80%98head%E2%80%99s-up%E2%80%99-expected-playstation-store-update-for-30th-july-2009/#comments">head's up</a> on the week's PSN content drop a day ahead of release from now on, allowing us 24 hours to get our wallets prepped. This week we're sure you've got your sights firmly set on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fat-princess"><span style="font-style: italic;">Fat Princess</span></a>, but there's also the second episode of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/watchmen"><span style="font-style: italic;">Watchmen: The End is Nigh</span></a>, a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/numblast"><span style="font-style: italic;">Numblast</span></a> demo and a couple of full PSP titles. Not to mention all the usual rhythm-game DLC for both PS3 and PSP.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">Yeah, the PSN update's a little late today. You can blame Comic-Con Craziness for that, but the sheer amount of content should be enough to calm you down, now that it's out. As if <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/killzone-2"><span style="font-style: italic;">Killzone 2</span></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wipeout-hd"><span style="font-style: italic;">WipEout HD</span></a> DLC wasn't enough, <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shatter">Shatter</a> </span>sees a release today, alongside some PS1 games. <div align="left">There's plenty of content to nom on in this latest PSN update. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wipeout-hd-fury"><span style="font-style: italic;">WipEout HD Fury</span></a> and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/killzone-2"><span style="font-style: italic;">Killzone 2</span></a> pack make up for the fact that there's no <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span> DLC this week. Not only that, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shatter"><span style="font-style: italic;">Shatter</span></a> is now available and has been joined by a surprise addition in the form of <span style="font-style: italic;">Final Fantasy: Crystal Defenders</span>. PSP owners have much less content to choose from, and if you don't own <span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band Unplugged</span> or <span style="font-style: italic;">Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce</span>, there's nothing for you here.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Battlefield 1943</span> is obviously the big news this week, but there are also a few demos that might also keep you entertained, namely <span style="font-style: italic;">Ghostbusters</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Fuel</span>. Not only that, but there's a load of DLC for <span style="font-style: italic;">MotorStorm Pacific Rift</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Skate 2 </span>and the usual rhythm games. PSP owners have a bumper crop of games to pick from, plus some more <span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band Unplugged </span>DLC.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">The American PSN update today isn't quite as interesting as the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/07/02/european-psn-releases-for-july-2/">European one</a>, but it's still got an okay amount of content. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/punisher-no-mercy"><span style="font-style: italic;">Punisher: No Mercy</span></a> has been released, alongside the latest episode of <span style="font-style: italic;">Qore</span> and the normal amount of DLC. PSP fans can choose from a selection of new games, including <span style="font-style: italic;">Capcom Classics Collection Remixed</span>. There are also some more PS3 and PSP themes and some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-unplugged"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band Unplugged</span></a> DLC.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">Okay Sony, we forgive you for the last couple of weeks. Today's PSN update is chock full of content, with particular emphasis on downloadable games. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/punisher-no-mercy"><span style="font-style: italic;">Punisher</span></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/topatoi"><span style="font-style: italic;">Topatoi</span></a> are joined by <span style="font-style: italic;">James Pond 2</span> and<span style="font-style: italic;"> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/numblast">Numblast</a></span>, plus a demo for <span style="font-style: italic;">Red Baron</span>. There's also the usual amount of DLC for those rhythm games you kids love so much, along with a new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><span style="font-style: italic;">MotorStorm Pacific Rift</span></a> expansion. <br /><br />PSP owners can grab <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/monster-hunter-freedom-unite"><span style="font-style: italic;">Monster Hunter Freedom Unite</span></a>, a PSP version of <span style="font-style: italic;">Numblast</span> and some other games, but if none take your fancy at least there's some new <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-unplugged">Rock Band Unplugged</a> </span>DLC. </div>

<div style="text-align: left;">There's not a whole lot of new content this week, but better than last, at least. Another PopCap game makes its way across the Atlantic today, in the form of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/zuma"><span style="font-style: italic;">Zuma</span></a>. There's also the delayed Summer Solstice <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span></a> DLC alongside the Jon Burgerman sticker pack, and PSP fans can grab <span style="font-style: italic;">Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles</span> and some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-unplugged"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band Unplugged </span></a>DLC. Finally, to celebrate the two-year anniversary of the release of <em>Super Stardust HD</em>, the price for the game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/25/super-stardust-hd-celebrates-2nd-anniversary-with-euro-price-dro/">has been dropped</a> to just &pound;1.59. Go get!<br /><br />Oh, also -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fantasy-vii"><em>Final Fantasy VII</em></a> has been fixed and re-released in France. Just thought you might like to know.<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">Similarly to the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/06/18/european-psn-releases-for-june-18/">European PSN Store update</a>, this week's content is a little lean.<br /><br />
<div align="center"><strong>!<br /></strong></div>
<br />But what's this? Solid Snake infiltrates the store in his original PS1 adventure, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear-solid"><em>Metal Gear Solid</em></a>. Yours for the premium PS1 price of $9.99. Sure you can probably find a cheaper copy in a bargain bin somewhere, but really you're paying for the ability to play this classic on your PSP. <span style="font-style: italic;">Anywhere</span>. Other than that, there's a new episode of <span style="font-style: italic;">Qore</span> and an <span style="font-style: italic;">NCAA Football 10</span> demo. PSP owners can grab <span style="font-style: italic;">GRAW 2</span> and some themes, too.<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">So <span style="font-style: italic;">VidZone</span> doesn't work in the US -- we checked -- but American PSN users will be able to feast on some content that Europeans didn't get hold on, as payback. In particular, PopCap's <span style="font-style: italic;">Heavy Weapon</span>, the release of <span style="font-style: italic;">Bomberman ULTRA</span> and another new PS1 game, <span style="font-style: italic;">Medal of Honor Underground</span>. Of course, there's also the same amount of crazy DLC for <span style="font-style: italic;">Killzone 2</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Burnout Paradise</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">World At War</span>. <div style="text-align: left;">What's that you say? It's Friday? Yeah, we've been a bit busy with E3, hence the release of the PSN update post a day late. Plus, it took us forever and a day to type up the <span style="font-style: italic;">ridiculous</span> amount of content that's been dropped, including over twenty videos, three PS1 games, two full PSN games and two demos. Not to mention the usual DLC. Enjoy!</div>

The original <span style="font-style: italic;">Resident Evil</span> is the highlight of the week for the American PSN store but, as usual, it's joined by a whole host of other content, too. <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/05/27/crash-commando-patch-incoming-dlc-in-the-near-future/">As reported</a>, a <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/crash-commando">Crash Commando</a> </span>demo is now available and the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/05/28/remaining-2000ad-littlebigplanet-costumes-revealed/">2000AD <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span> DLC</a> packs are also ready to be downloaded. PSP fans have two demos to choose from, in addition to the grandaddy of the Survival Horror genre. <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/05/28/european-psn-update-for-may-28/">Europeans</a> will have to settle for <span style="font-style: italic;">Silent Hill</span> instead but who knows, maybe some of you would <span style="font-style: italic;">prefer</span> that.<br /><br />Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list:<br /> <br />

Bumper week of content for European PSN Store fans this week. Two full games are now available, in the form of <span style="font-style: italic;">Cellfactor</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Inferno Pool</span>, as well as two demos -- one of which is for <span style="font-style: italic;">Crash Commando</span>, which is due to receive a patch and DLC in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/27/crash-commando-patch-incoming-dlc-in-the-near-future/">near future</a>. There's also a massive amount of DLC for all your favourite games, as per usual. PSP owners have demos of <span style="font-style: italic;">Monster Hunter Freedom Unite</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band Unplugged</span> to enjoy, too. <br /><br />Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list:<br /> <br />

<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-style: italic;"></span>Pretty decent update this week. Not only is <em>Bionic Commando Rearmed</em> <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/05/14/bionic-commando-rearmed-drops-to-4-99-on-psn/">half price</a>, <strong>but <em>Rag Doll Kung Fu</em> is now completely free</strong>. There are also some new games in the form of <em>Texas Cheat Em,</em> <em>Zen Pinball</em> and two PS1 titles. Of course, there's also a bunch of DLC and a smattering of trailers and themes. PSP fans can grab the excellent <em>Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice</em> for a slightly inflated price of $23. But at least it's digital.<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-style: italic;"></span>A few new games make their way to the European PSN Store today amid the normal torrent of DLC releases. PopCap finally graces Europe with <span style="font-style: italic;">Bejeweled 2</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Zen Pinball </span>makes its global debut, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/07/zen-pinball-bounces-onto-psn-next-week-for-10/">day and date</a> with the American release. Other than that, there's DLC for <span style="font-style: italic;">PAIN, Street Fighter IV, Sonic Unleashed </span>and ... sadly, not <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span>. Guess those Media Molecule folks have to take a break <em>sometime</em>. The store is also lacking any new PSP content for this week. Sorry, handheld fans.<br /><br /><strong>[Update]</strong> PopCap has confirmed that <em>Bejeweled 2</em> is only the beginning for the European PSN. <em>Zuma, Heavy Weapon, Peggle </em>and <em>Feeding Frenzy </em>will all be heading to Europe in the coming months.<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">It's relatively minor week of releases for the European PSN. Plenty of content to choose from today on the European PSN Store. PS1 releases continue with two uninspiring titles, and there's another torrent of DLC to grab for all your favorite games. There are also a couple of PS3 demos to check out and PSP owners have a couple games of their own to pick up.<br /> <br />Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list:<br /> <br />

<div style="text-align: left;">Today's PSN update is sadly lacking in full games, but there's <span style="font-style: italic;">plenty </span>of DLC to keep you busy. <span style="font-style: italic;">PixelJunk Eden Encore</span> sees the light of day, along with three packs of <span style="font-style: italic;">Valkyria Chronicles</span> content and all the usual <span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band, Guitar Hero</span> and <em>LittleBigPlanet</em> downloads. While it's an expensive week for DLC lovers, it's too bad there's no love for PSP owners.<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">It's DLC city on the European PlayStation Store today. Not only has the hotly anticipated expansion for <span style="font-style: italic;">PixelJunk Eden</span> been released (and at less than &pound;2.50, how can you say no?) but <span style="font-style: italic;">Valkyria Chronicles</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span> all receive new content, too. <div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Flock </span>and <span style="font-style: italic;">Rag Doll Kung Fu</span> are your new games for this week. PSP owners can pick up <span style="font-style: italic;">Super Collapse 3</span> for ten bucks, or any of a number of ridiculously named themes for the system.<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">Alright SCEE, we forgive you for last week. Today's update is jam-packed with content, including four full PS3 games, a return to form for <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet </span>DLC and the usual truckload of DLC. To mark the second anniversary of the PlayStation Store in the territory, SCEE has also reduced prices for a lot of older games. PSP owners have four full games of their own to choose from too.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">Today's American PSN update is <span style="font-style: italic;">much</span> more interactive than the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/04/02/european-psn-update-for-april-2/">European content</a> that went live earlier today. There's another (free!) episode of <span style="font-style: italic;">Qore</span>, the <span style="font-style: italic;">Killzone 2 Behind The Bullet</span> demo and swarm-based tower defense title <span style="font-style: italic;">Comet Crash</span>. Plus a standard helping of DLC, including the <span style="font-style: italic;">Patapon </span>costume for <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet, </span>which is mysteriously missing from the EU Store.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">Bit of a rubbish update today, comparatively. No playable content for PS3 owners, nor DLC for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span></a> -- weren't those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/13/free-st-patricks-day-and-monkey-king-costumes-coming-to-littlebi/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Patapon</span> costumes</a> supposed to drop today? PSP owners at least get a playable demo, but it's one that's been available in the US for a week. <br /><br /></div>

This has been a really great week to be a Nintendo fan. It's been a really great week to be a Virtual Console fan in particular -- when was the last time we could say something like that? The week has just gotten a <em>lot</em> better with the release of the list of upcoming Virtual Console releases for Japan.<br /><br />Why? Two reasons. First: <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/16/man-undertakes-massive-majoras-mask-mission/">The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask</a>.</em> Like <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/26/vc-monday-madness-ocarina-and-the-rest/">Ocarina of Time</a>,</em> it costs a painful 1,200 Wii Points -- and like <em>Ocarina of Time</em>, it will probably drop to the usual 1,000 in North America. Second, and possibly even <em>more</em> exciting: <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/30/virtually-overlooked-phantasy-star/">Phantasy Star</a>!</em> The Sega Master System RPG masterpiece is <em>also</em> coming to the Virtual Console. Maybe it's not a big deal to those of you with <em>Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection,</em> but personally, it's<em> awesome news.</em><br /><br />We fully expect to see both of these games in North America soon. Neither SMS games nor N64 games seem to take long to make it overseas. Also of interest: Hudson's PC Engine port of the NES <em>Ninja Gaiden.</em> And the arcade version of <em>Space Invaders</em>, which marks the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/18/vc-monday-madness-space-invaders-and-forgotten-worlds/">third</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/27/japanese-virtual-console-march-lineup-revealed/">time</a></em> the "original" <em>Space Invaders</em> has been released on VC.<br /> <br />The full list is after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/27/majoras-mask-phantasy-star-on-japanese-virtual-console-in-apri/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Majora's Mask, Phantasy Star on Japanese Virtual Console in April</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/27/majoras-mask-phantasy-star-on-japanese-virtual-console-in-apri/">Majora's Mask, Phantasy Star on Japanese Virtual Console in April</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 27 Mar 2009 13:00:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Carpet</span>! It's a bit dated now, but that shouldn't stop you picking up the latest slice of nostalgia to be released on the PSN Store. We're pleased to see <span style="font-style: italic;">good</span> PS1 games becoming available on a weekly basis -- even if <span style="font-style: italic;">Silent Hill</span> mysteriously disappeared this week. <span style="font-style: italic;">Burn Zombie Burn</span> is the game of the week, though there's <span style="font-style: italic;">plenty</span> of DLC to pick up as well. PSP owners have a choice between <span style="font-style: italic;">Buzz! Brain of UK</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Carpet</span>. Not quite as good a selection as last week, but better than nothing.</div>
