Subscribers have gotten their first look at <em>Game Informer's</em> cover story on <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mass-effect-3"><em>Mass Effect 3</em></a></em>, and while you'll have to read the magazine to get all the details, a reader posting on the <a href="http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/995452-mass-effect-3/58730036">GameFAQs</a> forum is providing hints of what's to come -- and sorry, that <em>doesn't</em> include multiplayer.<br />
<br />
Expect more RPG elements this time around -- if still not on par with <em>Mass Effect 1</em> -- with beefier skill trees and more evolution of powers. You can also expect more weapon modification, though, again, likely not as much as we saw in <em>ME1</em>. All weapons will be usable by all classes, though each class (except for the solider) will be limited to a certain number of weapons that can be equipped for a mission.<br />
<br />
As far as <em>Mass Effect 3's</em> plot ... well, suffice it to say that Shepard is on Earth due to the events of the "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mass-effect-2,arrival/">Arrival</a>" DLC. But that's all we'll spill. As for returning characters -- you really don't want to know, do you? ... You sure? ... OK, fine. For now, we know Liara and Garrus (if he survived) will be playable. Favorites like Wrex and Mordin (again, if they're alive) will also make appearances, though whether they'll be full-fledged teammates is unknown.<br />
<br />
Sorry, but that's <em>all</em> you're getting from us. You can check out the new issue of <em>Game Informer </em>if you want to spoil more for yourself, but we certainly won't be party to it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/08/mass-effect-3-details-emerge-in-game-informer-multiplayer-ruled/">Mass Effect 3 details emerge in Game Informer, multiplayer ruled out</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Apr 2011 11:30:00 EST. As an added bonus, <a href="http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/jan/05/new-famitsu-scans-show-new-ssf4-ultras-costumes/">Eventhubs</a> has actually translated the descriptions of the attacks, so you can get a better idea of what you're <em>squinting</em> at. Chun-Li's Kikosho fireball returns, and now Ryu has a "Metsu-shoryuken" -- a super-powerful Dragon Punch, duh. Most interesting, however, is Cammy's new Ultra Combo: the "Cammy Quick Combo" -- or "CQC" -- a <em>counter</em> move.<br />
<br />
The <em>Famitsu</em> issue also features images of new alternate costumes for the upgraded fighting game -- Chun Li's, above, is the most visible from the scan. Thankfully, GameTrailers has posted a much clearer, <em>wha-wha-wha-wooorld</em> exclusive look at the costumes in action, along with some of the new Ultra Combos and rival battles, embedded after the break.<br />

We got <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/17/first-screens-and-video-from-blood-of-bahamut/">our first taste</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/blood-of-bahamut"><em>Blood of Bahamut</em></a> a few weeks back and we definitely enjoyed what we saw. Thankfully, the latest issue of Famitsu has a nice two-page spread on the game, giving us more to drool over. We'd like to present any of the info that is in these scans, but, for some reason, it's all in Chinese. Seeing as how this is Famitsu magazine, you can understand why it's weird.<br /><br />Regardless, the scans are chock full of delicious eye candy. So let your eyeballs soak it all in <a href="http://www.gamekyo.com/newsfr29402_blood-of-bahamut-nouvelles-images.html">here</a>.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/blood-of-bahamut-looks-better-every-time-we-see-it/">Blood of Bahamut looks better every time we see it</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Dec 2008 13:42:00 EST. <span style="float: left; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 7px;"> <script> var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/Marvelous_reveals_Valhalla_Knights_for_Wii'; </script> <script src="http://digg.com/api/diggthis.js"></script></span> Today is a big day for Wii gamers. Aside from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/square-enix-reveals-new-final-fantasy-for-wii/">a new <em>Final Fantasy</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/">a <em>Klonoa </em>remake</a>, we're now getting a new <em>Valhalla Knights</em> title in <em>Valhalla Knights: Eldgar Saga</em>, according to the latest issue of Famitsu. The best part? It has online co-op!<br /><br /><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valhalla_Knights"><em>Valhalla Knights</em></a> was previously <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/tag/valhalla-knights">a PSP-only franchise</a>, but this Wii version looks to bring over a lot of the key aspects of those games, including 60 quests, real-time combat and heavy character customization. The magazine article says the game is about 70% complete and will release in Japan sometime next year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/marvelous-reveals-valhalla-knights-for-wii/">Marvelous reveals Valhalla Knights for Wii</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 15:29:00 EST. Fans of Square Enix and their <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fantasy"><em>Final Fantasy</em></a> line of games are in for a treat. The company revealed in the latest issue of Shonen Jump magazine that it's developing a new installment in its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ffcc"><em>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles</em></a> series of games. <em>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time</em> is a game that will release on the DS and Wii on January 29th. Also, it will allow DS gamers and Wii gamers to play together online. How neat is that?<br /><br />Nothing in the way of exact functionality is explained, other than the prospect of transferring your Mii from the Wii version of the game to the DS title (and the previously mentioned co-op). We'll provide more information as it's made available.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/new-final-fantasy-lets-ds-and-wii-gamers-play-at-the-same-time/">New Final Fantasy lets DS and Wii gamers play at the same time</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 14:15:00 EST. A new <em>Klonoa</em> game from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/namco">Namco Bandai</a>, <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em>, is being developed for Wii, according to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine. It's a remake of the first <em>Klonoa </em>game on the PSOne, which also happens to be called <em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em> (you can read up on it at Wikipedia <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klonoa:_Door_to_Phantomile">here</a>). The presentation, as you can see above, is cel-shaded, bright and colorful, maintaining the look of the franchise. We like it, to be honest. And, as is custom with the <em>Klonoa</em> games, expect this title to have plenty of platforming segments to go through.<br /><br /><em>Klonoa: Door to Phantomile</em> is scheduled for a December 4th release in Japan.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/namco-thinks-wii-is-ripe-for-klonoa-remake/">Namco thinks Wii is ripe for Klonoa remake</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 11:46:00 EST. The latest issue of Shonen Jump magazine in Japan details a new game from Square Enix in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ffcc"><em>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles</em></a> franchise, <em>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time</em>. Other than having a ridiculously long name, the title will allow DS and Wii gamers to play alongside each other at the same time online. It will even allow you to transfer your <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mii">Mii</a> from the Wii version of the game to the DS version!<br /><br />The game has a release date of January 29th listed and when more info is made available, we'll update you all. Courtesy of RockstarWatch, the November issue of Nintendo Power has been scanned and uploaded online. In case you missed it last week, it's the issue with all of the details and first screens for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/19/gta-chinatown-wars-details-finally-revealed/"><em>GTA: Chinatown Wars</em></a>. With all four of the pages scanned, it's a wealth of information on the upcoming game that you likely won't want to miss out on. So <a href="http://www.rockstarwatch.net/news/575/Nintendo-Power-November-Issue-Scans-Twelve-New-Chinatown-Wars-Screens/">head on over here</a> to check out the scans.<br /><br />[Thanks, Josh!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/22/take-a-closer-look-at-gta-chinatown-wars/">Take a closer look at GTA: Chinatown Wars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Sep 2008 16:54:00 EST. Called <em>Kimi no Yuusha</em>, we don't know much about the title other than it looks absolutely adorable. It was also revealed that SNK Playmore is the developer behind the game, and it's some sort of light novel and RPG combination. <br /><br />The two main characters are a blue-haired girl named Wanda (pictured right) and a blond-haired girl named Tio. The 2D battle graphics in the scans aren't all that pretty, but the rest of the art seems very pleasing. So, these cats can't shoot lasers, but they can do other awesome things. Like <em>look cute</em> and <em>distract enemies</em>.<br /><br />Thinking of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/how-to-snap-a-neck-in-tenchu-iv/">a ninja's arsenal</a>, kittens don't really come to mind. They're prone to make noise (which could mean certain death for a ninja) and they take up a lot of space in a satchel. This space could be used for more deadly ninja stars. But, hey, we're not complaining. We love kittens. Even the fake kind in video games.<br /><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=50184">Go Nintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/tenchu-iv-to-feature-kittens-might-be-the-best-game-ever/">Tenchu IV to feature kittens, might be the best game ever</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jul 2008 13:15:00 EST. We <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/02/a-hearty-addition-to-the-tales-series/">already showed you</a> a snippet of the <em>Shonen Jump </em>scans for <em>Tales of Hearts</em>, but Gamekyo recently added more, this time showing off some enticing (albeit tiny) screens. <br /><br />Like some of you, we're trying not to put our hearts into <em>Tales of Hearts</em>, just because we don't want them broken if the game doesn't get localized. Normally we're localization optimists, but after Namco Bandai decided to work on the Wii's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tales-of-symphonia/"><em>Tales of Symphonia</em></a> as well as the 360's <em>Tales of Vesperia</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/namco-not-spinning-any-tales-outside-of-japan/">but not</a> the DS's <em>Tales of Innocence</em>, we've been a little bitter. We won't even mention our still stinging wounds over <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TalesOfTheTempest/"><em>Tales of the Tempest</em></a>, even if it wasn't too well recieved -- except that we just did. We've said it before, and we'll say it again: if any system deserves catering to niche audiences, it's the DS.<br /><br />Rant aside, enjoy the lovely screens! We'll just be out back, crying softly to ourselves.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/03/tiny-screens-from-tales-of-hearts-get-our-blood-pumping/">Tiny screens from Tales of Hearts get our blood pumping</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Jul 2008 22:00:00 EST. Gamekyo (formerly known as Jeux-France) posted up <a href="http://jeux-france.com/news28086_sonic-unleashed-wii-new-images.html">some new scans</a> for the Wii version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/29/sonic-unleashed-almost-everything-we-knew-was-a-lie/"><em>Sonic Unleashed</em></a>, which show us a handful of new screens for the blue hedgehog's upcoming title. Considering that the images are based on scans, they actually look pretty nice. There's only a handful, but they show Sonic doing what he does best -- attacking robots and collecting coins.<br /><br />We're curious to see what the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/16/sonic-unleashed-has-cube-controller-support/">"very different" Wii version</a> of the game will be like when compared to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/16/sonic-unleashed-impressions-all-sonic-no-unleashed/">360 and PS3 ones</a>, but at least it <em>looks</em> like it's going to be okay. We'll just have to wait until this fall (specifically November, according to Gamekyo) to find out for ourselves.<br /><br />

A pair of new scans for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/valkyrie-profile-trailer-is-the-cats-pajamas/"><em>Valkyrie Profile</em></a> have surfaced on the net. Coming from Japanese mag V-Jump, the scans are chock full of goodies from the game. We've got a look at some of the title's characters, which you can see above in the cropped image, as well as some very nice in-game screenshots. It's pretty much <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/05/valkyrie-profile-the-scanned-one/">become</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/famitsu-brings-us-fresh-valkyrie-profile-shots/">par</a> for the course. Media Vision (best known for the RPG series <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps2/wildarmsthevthvanguard?q=wild%20arms"><em>Wild Arms</em></a>) are hard at work creating a new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rpg/">RPG</a> for the DS, at this stage titled <em>RIZ-ZOAWD</em>. Yeah, what? It's a perfectly cromulent title.<br /><br />The awesome name is expected to be changed in localization (assuming North America doesn't <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/10/dont-expect-spectral-force-genesis-from-nis-america/">miss out</a>), but for now you can check out the Famitsu scan showing off a few gameplay screens. A friendly-looking scarecrow can be seen, along wth a girl wearing a blue dress and red slippers ... hmmm, this sounds strangely familiar. If you have strange recollections from <a href="http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=X-ZULpr8m5o"><em>The Wizard of Oz</em></a>, you're not alone. The more Hawking-like readers will also notice that <em>RIZ-ZOAWD</em> is an anagram for WIZARD-OZ.<br /><br /><em>RIZ-ZOAWD</em> will be controlled entirely with the stylus using a track ball (that is, moving a ball to move a character). The game will be released come winter in Japan, but all that cold weather can't be good for Dorothy's complexion.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/riz-zoawd-confuses-all-until-they-figure-it-out/">RIZ-ZOAWD confuses all, until they figure it out</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jun 2008 21:00:00 EST. Aside from knowing that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/17/rumor-pokemans-let-nintendo-sell-you-them-again/">the game exists</a>, as well as its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/18/pokemon-platinum-dated-for-release-in-japan/">Japanese release date</a>, there's just not much we have to go on. Until now, that is.<br /><br />Some scans of the latest issue (via <a href="http://www.thetanooki.com/2008/06/10/new-pokemon-platinum-details-in-corocoro/">The Tanooki</a>) have released online, giving us a clearer picture of what's going down in this latest title. For one, the title will star two completely new trainers, as well as re-clothe Lucas and Dawn. There will also be a new area of the map unlocked, which is being labeled as "Torn World" right now.<br /><br />Also of note, a certain <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pokemon">Pok&eacute;mon</a></em> movie monster available to folks in Japan will be transferable to <em>Platinum</em>, also allowing you to capture Regirock, Regice, and Registeel in-game. An announcement for all those interested in putting some hours in down at the nearest <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/22/hong-kong-raid-success/">factory</a> or processing facility -- you can now work with runes. Marvelous Entertainment made the announcement for <span style="font-style: italic;">Rune Factory: Frontier</span> in the latest Famitsu, and that's factoriffic. We unearthed some scans, which we have here for you today. Well, not here. Up there ... and <a href="http://www.jeux-france.com/images1_4_27782.html">here</a>.<a href="http://www.jeux-france.com/images1_4_27782.html" /><br /><br />The series had a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/04/rune-factory-fight-for-your-right-to-harvest/">good showing</a> on the DS, so it's time for the bigger console brother to take a shot at harvesting some quality gameplay. <span style="font-style: italic;">Rune Factory: Frontier </span>also looks set to feature Raguna from the <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ds/runefactoryafantasyharvestmoon?q=rune%20factory">first title</a>, as he goes about his day farming, looking for buxom beauties and occasionally roughing up a baddie or two. The game is scheduled for a 2008 release date in Japan, but hopefully it won't take long to make the international rounds.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/04/factor-in-some-runes-on-the-wii/">Factor in some Runes on the Wii</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Jun 2008 17:00:00 EST. <div align="left"><br />It's not exactly a simulation if you're facing off against giant fire-breathing dinosaurs, now is it? That's just one of the deadly, deadly disasters you'll encounter while constructing your digital empire in <em>Sim City Creator</em> for the Wii. Okay, it may not be a simulation of plausible events in a real city, but will it be a simulation of <em>fun</em>? Pffft. <em>Everything</em> is fun with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/07/the-best-yoshi-emblazoned-wii-weve-seen-today/">dinosaurs</a>.<br /></div>
<br />Taking a look at the above scan from the latest <em>Famitsu</em>, we can see a couple of normal-looking areas, as well as a crazy neon crystal metropolis. In fact, a whole range of building designs will be available in a bunch of styles, including Futuristic, Crystal, Jungle, Las Vegas, Mediterranean, Traditional Japanese and even Cake -- apparently buildings inspired by your favorite <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/12/man-makes-his-own-martha-stewart-wii-cake-appears-on-her-show/">baked goods</a>. Sounds delish.<br /><br />Adopting a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/26/wii-fanboy-review-mysims/"><em>MySims</em></a> visual style, <em>Sim City Creator</em>'s modes include Free Play, Mission, Collection (unlockable stuff -- hopefully cookies and pies to build a library), Memorial Album (happy snaps from Free Play) and City Making Contest. This mode lets you upload your created cities via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/22/gdc08-wi-fi-good-news-bad-news/">Nintendo Wi-Fi</a> and have various other would-be architects rank and review your work. Nice one!<br /><br /><em>Sim City Creator</em> is set for a September release in Japan. Keep those dinosaurs and UFOs at bay until then, and hit the Source link to check out the full scans.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?p=11352211#post11352211">NeoGAF</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/sim-city-creator-features-fun-and-then-some/">Sim City Creator features fun and then some</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 May 2008 16:00:00 EST. Now it's being call <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/nms-08-super-mario-sluggers-sliding-into-homes-this-year/"><em>Mario Super Sluggers</em></a>, which is an improvement in our eyes, and is to feature, as you'd expect, a plethora of characters from Nintendo's famous franchises. We're glad to see <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/nms-08-super-mario-sluggers-sliding-into-homes-this-year/">Mario is heading back to the diamond</a> again!<br /><br />The scans show off some interesting aspects of the game, including what looks like a kind of special catch system when playing in the outfield, which lets you rob players of home runs. Also, the player-specific abilities seem to be returning, as well as the themed stadiums in which you'll play ball. In the scan, you can see what appears to be Luigi throwing a kind of tornado pitch. Interesting, to say the least.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/14/fresh-mario-super-sluggers-scans-step-up-to-the-plate/">Fresh Mario Super Sluggers scans step up to the plate</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 May 2008 16:00:00 EST. Seeing as how the franchise enjoys <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/top-100-games-sold-in-the-last-year/">incredible amounts of success</a> with each new release, it would be foolish to think that a new <em>Pokemon</em> game is not going to be headed to the DS.<br /><br />Then, we all <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/11/corocoro-comic-reveals-pokemon-platinum/">got our eyes on</a> a blurry scan from CoroCoro Comic. And, the world changed. But, we're glad to report, some good soul managed to snag a better version of the scan and uploaded it for all to see. So, knock it off with the squinting and check out the clear view of <em>Pokemon Platinum</em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=42824">Go Nintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/13/a-better-look-at-corocoro-comics-pokemon-platinum-reveal/">A better look at CoroCoro Comic's Pokemon Platinum reveal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 13 May 2008 20:00:00 EST. The shadowy figure to the right appeared on the most recent cover of <em>Nintendo Dream</em> alongside Miles Edgeworth and Detective Gumshoe, and has immediately set tongues wagging in the <em>Ace Attorney</em> fan community.<br /><br />Cruelly, the magazine remains tight-lipped about who or what she is, revealing only her age (seventeen), and that she is a "major character." Could she be an assistant to Edgeworth, as Maya was to Phoenix? That seems most likely to us. We'll tell you who <strike>we</strike> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/20/ds-daily-video-game-crushes/">most of us</a> would <em>like</em> her to be, however: Edgeworth's <em>love interest</em>. Let's face it -- most of us didn't care much about <span style="font-style: italic;">Soma Bringer</span> until we saw a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/14/soma-bringer-video-explosion/">plethora of awesome videos</a> for the game last week. Now that Nintendo and Monolith Soft have gotten our attention, though, we can't get enough of it. Because of this, we were excited to see <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/06/famitsu-brings-the-soma-bringer-in-these-scans/">more</a> <span style="font-style: italic;">Soma Bringe</span>r scans leaked around the internets. <br /><br />With a scan explosion to match last week's video explosion, these magazine pages show <em>tons</em> of art and screens for the game. They're definitely worth a look by anyone anticipating this title or hoping for localization. <br /><br />Check after the break for <em>eight more</em> of them.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/19/these-soma-bringer-scans-will-energize-you/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>These Soma Bringer scans will energize you</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/19/these-soma-bringer-scans-will-energize-you/">These Soma Bringer scans will energize you</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Feb 2008 18:00:00 EST. <br /><br />For those of you who're as excited for Team Ninja's upcoming DS entry in the <em>Ninja Gaiden</em> series, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/21/buy-ninja-gaiden-and-well-make-you-a-sequel-hints-itagaki/"><em>Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword</em></a>, as we are, feast your eyes on some fresh scans from Famitsu. It looks like the focus here is on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/16/ninja-gaiden-is-smooth-speedy-stylus-a-riffic/">stylus controls</a> and how players will execute everything through the touch screen, from the mundane regular attack to the destructive special attack. <br /><br />Head past the break for the second scan.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/more-ninja-gaiden-scan-action/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>More Ninja Gaiden scan action</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/more-ninja-gaiden-scan-action/">More Ninja Gaiden scan action</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Feb 2008 14:15:00 EST. Under the developmental wing of Monolith Soft, <em>Soma Bringer</em> is a title we don't know <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/08/soma-bringer-develops-some-identity/">that much</a> about. Sure, we've seen lots of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/21/soma-bringing-the-screens-to-you/">pretty screens</a> (which you can see in our gallery below) and know the title will be an action RPG, allowing the player to string various combos together. The player will also be able to command a three-person party.<br /><br />Well, we know <em>a little</em> about the game. But, what we want to know about is the rich story, what with it being an RPG and all. Unless we can read Japanese magazine scans (see: we can't), we'll just have to settle for looking at screens and our imagination for now.<br /><br />Head past the break for the other scan.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/06/famitsu-brings-the-soma-bringer-in-these-scans/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Famitsu brings the Soma Bringer in these scans</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/06/famitsu-brings-the-soma-bringer-in-these-scans/">Famitsu brings the Soma Bringer in these scans</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Feb 2008 16:00:00 EST. For those of you who might have steered clear of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/23/korea-two-guitar-heroes-enter-one-guitar-hero-leaves/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Guitar Hero III</span></a> because the price was just too high for you, take note: Toys R Us is now offering up the bundle for $69.99, which is $20 less than its normal price. With that extra coin, you could pick up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/13/thrustmaster-offers-up-wireless-classic-controller/">a classic controller</a> or just pocket the cash. Getting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/28/a-sign-of-guitars-to-come/">the wireless Les Paul</a> that comes bundled in for $20 less than everyone else would make us feel <span style="font-style: italic;">so special</span>, if you ask us.<br /><br />Head on past the break for a look at the ad for the price drop.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/toys-r-us-slashes-price-on-guitar-hero-iii-bundle/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Toys R Us slashes price on Guitar Hero III bundle</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/toys-r-us-slashes-price-on-guitar-hero-iii-bundle/">Toys R Us slashes price on Guitar Hero III bundle</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Feb 2008 13:30:00 EST. Fans of spin-off game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/03/11/pokemon-ranger-commercial/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Pok&eacute;mon Ranger</span></a> will be happy to hear a sequel is in the works. A couple of scans made their way over to NeoGAF and, as they say, the rest is history. Not being one to pick up the original title, this blogger doesn't know how to feel about a sequel. So, tell us what <span style="font-style: italic;">you </span>think?<br /><br />Did you like the first game? What did you enjoy about it? <br />The latest issue of Famitsu didn't only have some interesting stuff regarding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/ninja-gaiden-scans-steathily-emerge/"><em>Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword</em></a>, but also a spread on Mistwalker's upcoming DS entry <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/20/a-closer-look-at-blue-dragon/"><em>Blue Dragon Plus</em></a>. And, as intrigued as we were when it was initially thought to be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/14/blue-dragon-ds-nothing-to-do-with-cards-after-all/">a card-based game</a>, we're now even more interested in what the game will bring to the DS. Sakaguchi <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/22/ds-daily-heroes/">never disappoints</a>, after all.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/famitsu-treats-us-to-more-blue-dragon/">Famitsu treats us to more Blue Dragon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Jan 2008 16:00:00 EST. <br />
The latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu has a nice two-page spread on Team Ninja's upcoming DS entry in the kill-em-all-bloodfest of a franchise, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/20/ninja-gaiden-boxart-flips-into-view-falls-flat-on-backside/"><em>Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword</em></a>. We're not only excited to give this game a whirl because of the already-mentioned amount of killing Ryu will undoubtedly do, but also because the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/01/itagaki-ds-is-a-chance-to-do-something-totally-original/">control scheme</a> seems like it could pave the way for more games of this type. At this point, we're fairly convinced that <em>Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword</em> can cure every single problem we have in our life. <br />
<br />
Any of you feel the same way?<br />

Good news, <em>Gundam</em> fans! (And we know you must be out there, or else there wouldn't be so many games based on this anime franchise.) Namco Bandai just announced a new title for the DS that's scheduled for release in March 2008. The game will be based on the most recent <em>Gundam</em> series, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJP0bNkyIuY"><em>Gundam OO</em></a><em>. </em>Of course, like the <span style="font-style: italic;">G Generation</span> games, these probably won't be released outside of Japan (blame your respective countries for not loving anime enough, the fools), but we're sure hardcores won't mind importing.<br /><br />Also, if you love a good dose of <strike>mech porn</strike> giant gun-toting robots, <span style="font-style: italic;">Famitsu</span> scans of the game are sitting pretty after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/27/namco-bandai-fires-gundam-oo-onto-the-ds/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Namco Bandai fires Gundam OO onto the DS</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/27/namco-bandai-fires-gundam-oo-onto-the-ds/">Namco Bandai fires Gundam OO onto the DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Dec 2007 20:00:00 EST. <div align="left">Will <em>Dragon Quest V</em> ever be released outside of Japan? We <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/06/dragon-quest-v-coming-out-again-in-spring-2008/">certainly hope so</a>. As for now, though, we'll just have to look at scans of a game that we very well may never get to play, like kids outside of a candy store. Oh Square Enix, how you can be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/13/square-enix-announces-final-fantasy-iv-sequel/">so cruel</a> to us sometimes.<br />
<br />
Quest on past the break to see some scans for the next remake in the series.</div>

<div align="left"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/11/first-trailer-for-wii-ware-final-fantasy-crystal-chronicles/">Another trailer</a> has popped up for (deep breath) <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/10/slew-of-new-titles-announced-for-wii-ware/"><em>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and the Promised Land</em></a>, which introduces two of game's main characters. Aside from that (and some pretty Wii Ware graphics), though, this true-to-form Square Enix trailer doesn't really show us much in terms of gameplay. Still, the mystery of it all is enough to make us want it, and we're really looking forward to the coming of Wii Ware ... since, you know, we hate money and want to get rid of it as fast as possible.<br /><br />Also, the game has stopped bumming off the offical <a href="http://www.ffccnews.jp/">Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles</a> website, as its own official site launched this week. You can check it out <a href="http://www.square-enix.co.jp/littleking/">here</a>, if you feel so inclined.<br /><br />If that's not enough to quell your burning desire for <span style="font-style: italic;">Promised Land</span> goodness (insatiable pigs, the lot of you), check after the break for some <span style="font-style: italic;">Famitsu </span>scans.</div>

The latest on <em>Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword</em> from <span style="font-style: italic;">Famitsu</span> confirms the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/07/japanese-ninja-gaiden-site-has-some-bad-news/">March release date</a> on the Japanese site, but as usual, when faced with screenshots from Tecmo's ninja wonder, we find it hard to care about anything other than taking it all in with wide-eyed glee. Traveling on the bottom screen? Look out, the top screen may change -- and vice versa -- and players find themselves stuck waiting until the shifting has stopped before they can move on. It certainly sounds like an interesting concept, especially when rescued villagers return home to build up their town. It sounds like the more you save, the bigger the game can get.<br /><br />While <span style="font-style: italic;">Away: Shuffle Dungeon</span> certainly sounds like it could be a blast, we can't help but raise an eyebrow at the look. Oh, the environments and monster designs are fine, and maybe even great, but the characters ... they look somewhat reminiscent of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/26/wii-fanboy-review-mysims/"><span style="font-style: italic;">MySim</span>s</a> characters, if the <span style="font-style: italic;">MySims</span> characters in question were very stoned and possibly annoyed. <em>Dragon Quest IV</em> for the DS hit stores yesterday in Japan, and since that nation seems to still exist, apparently there was a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/15/dragon-quest-iv-poised-to-cause-riots-hair-pulling/">large enough supply</a> to at least stave off Armageddon. Per Jeux-France, gamers in Japan snapped up a rumored 360,000 copies in the first day, so we can only assume that there is a whole lot of questing going on today. <br /><br />But what's a release without a few last minute pages in <em>Famitsu</em>? The magazine laid out a sweet new spread to welcome the title, and you can see it for yourself after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/23/dragon-quest-iv-rocks-sales-magazines-at-debut/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dragon Quest IV rocks sales, magazines at debut</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/23/dragon-quest-iv-rocks-sales-magazines-at-debut/">Dragon Quest IV rocks sales, magazines at debut</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Nov 2007 19:00:00 EST. There would be more dungeons, which we may or may not need to crawl around, and it would also feature a lot of character customization and other genre staples. No big whoop, right? <em>Wrong</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/04/famitsu-reveals-etrian-odyssey-2-is-in-the-works/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Famitsu reveals Etrian Odyssey 2 is in the works</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/04/famitsu-reveals-etrian-odyssey-2-is-in-the-works/">Famitsu reveals Etrian Odyssey 2 is in the works</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Oct 2007 19:51:00 EST. These latest pages of <em>V-Jump</em> on <em>NiGHTS</em> are really gorgeous ... but that's easy to pull off when most of the screens are captures from the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/23/nights-promises-a-beautiful-opening-sequence/">opening video</a>. But even the gameplay shots in these scans are lush and attractive. The game is getting closer all the time, and we can't help but wonder if opinions are still as split as they were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/09/poll-results-how-excited-are-you-for-nights/">back in April</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/19/nights-journey-of-scans/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NiGHTS: Journey of Scans</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/19/nights-journey-of-scans/">NiGHTS: Journey of Scans</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Sep 2007 19:00:00 EST. This game just looks so damn good, and if you want more proof, take a look at these new scans from Playzone magazine.<br /></div>
<br />While Playzone doesn't give us any real new information about Konami's popular survival horror title, I'm sure some of you will be pleased just to see more scantily clad nurses.<br /><br />When you're finished drooling over these new screens, be sure to cast your vote for <em>Silent Hill 5</em> in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/16/ps3-poll-police-tokyo-game-showdown-edition/">this week's Poll Police</a>!<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/17/new-silent-hill-5-scans-to-drool-over/">New Silent Hill 5 scans to drool over</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Sep 2007 14:00:00 EST.
