No joke -- several <em>solid</em> Xbox Live Arcade titles have been temporarily <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/04/01/xbox-live-arcade-inventory-blowout-sale.aspx">discounted</a>, most by 50 percent, today through April 7. A few of the notable victims of this price slaughter include:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em> ($7) -- 53% off</li>
    <li><em>Lumines LIVE</em> ($5) -- 50% off</li>
    <li><em>South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!</em> ($5) -- 50% off</li>
</ul>
Check out the full list of XBLA cost casualties after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/01/xbox-live-arcade-weeklong-blowout-sale/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>XBLA weeklong 'blowout' sale includes SSFIITHDR, Lumines &amp; Age of Booty</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/01/xbox-live-arcade-weeklong-blowout-sale/">XBLA weeklong 'blowout' sale includes SSFIITHDR, Lumines &amp; Age of Booty</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Apr 2010 10:57:00 EST. While it's true that the high-rolling blogging lifestyle has left us out-of-touch with the needs of the unwashed masses, even the fat cats at Joystiq understand that everyone loves a deal (if only to free up some much needed capital for, let's say, a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Joystiq-Publishing">chronically underfunded game publishing division</a>). <br />
<br />
To help lighten the burden on your wallets, Capcom is offering the following: 50% off a single PSN game every week for five weeks, beginning with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Marvel-vs-Capcom-2/"><em>Marvel vs. Capcom 2</em></a>. In total you could scoop up all five games for just under $30 and, since this is a 50% off sale, that also means you'll have saved just under $30. That's <em>math</em>. We've pasted the full list below for you to mull over:<br />
<br />
February 18, 2010 - Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for $7.49<br />
February 25, 2010 - Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for $7.49<br />
March 4, 2010 - Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for $4.99<br />
March 11, 2010 - Age of Booty for $4.99<br />
March 18, 2010 - 1942: Joint Strike for $4.99<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/18/capcom-offers-50-off-five-psn-games-this-week-marvel-vs-capc/">Capcom offers 50% off five PSN games; this week: Marvel vs. Capcom 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Feb 2010 09:05:00 EST. We're sure everyone likes the redrawn, high definition art featured in <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>, but did you know that <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/udon">Udon</a> also redrew the original <em>SSFII</em> intro sequence? It's true, and <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2009/11/03/udons_unused_super_street_fighter_ii_turbo_hd_remix_intro">Capcom Unity</a> has the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP72_3ApUY8&amp;feature=player_embedded">video</a> to prove it. After the break, you'll find the intro movie that Udon created, though it never made it into the actual game. The video features Ryu doing his fireball thing, while Chun-Li poses and Cammy (for some reason) gives everyone a raspberry. Watch the redrawn trailer and the original after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/03/the-street-fighter-ii-hd-remix-intro-that-never-was/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Street Fighter II HD Remix intro that never was</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/03/the-street-fighter-ii-hd-remix-intro-that-never-was/">The Street Fighter II HD Remix intro that never was</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Nov 2009 16:05:00 EST. The site lets players view plenty of stats that aren't available on the regular leaderboard, including ranking, rating, wins, losses and perfects. It even tracks the number of throws and projectiles used. Stats can be viewed for all characters combined or for individual characters, and you can also compare your stats with another player.<br /><br />Finally, you can prove to all your friends that they're nothing but turtling, fireball spamming <em>jerks</em>. FYI, it seems like the server is getting hammered by stat fiends right now, as we've been unable to bring up our own stats all day.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/jimmyrey/blog/2009/04/20/sfhd_remix_stats_site_is_finally_up_and_fully_running">Capcom Unity</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/21/sfii-hd-stats-site-up-and-running-also-punching/">SFII HD stats site up and running (also punching)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Apr 2009 18:00:00 EST. <span style="font-style: italic;">Castle Crashers</span> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/24/castle-crashers-title-update-now-available-finally/">recovered</a> from a 4-month gimp to be crowned the Xbox Live Arcade "Game of the Year" in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/26/xbox-live-arcade-awards-voting-kicks-off-march-3/">second annual</a> community voting awards. Somewhat surprisingly, <span style="font-style: italic;">Castle Crashers</span> also managed to nab "Best Co-op Mode" despite being virtually unplayable online for four out of its seven months in release. On its way to top honors, The Behemoth's beat-em-up notably <span style="font-style: italic;">beat</span> out its fellow indie nominee, <span style="font-style: italic;">Braid,</span> which was famously <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/17/soulja-boy-tells-em-about-braid/">dismissed</a> by an American youth spokesperson.<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Braid's</span> losing streak continued in the "Best Single Player Game" category, which was claimed by <em>Orange Box</em> cutout <em>Portal: Still Alive</em> (oh right, it has "exclusive" challenge maps), but Jonathan Blow's <em>timeless</em> effort did mange to win "Best Innovation" amid stiff competition. (We were certain<span style="font-style: italic;"> Kefling's</span> innovative "use of Avatars" was a shoo-in.)<br /><br />The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/23/xbla-awards-braid-cant-rewind-loss-to-castle-crashers/#winners">complete list</a> of awards and recipients is posted after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/23/xbla-awards-braid-cant-rewind-loss-to-castle-crashers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>XBLA Awards: Braid can't rewind loss to Castle Crashers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/23/xbla-awards-braid-cant-rewind-loss-to-castle-crashers/">XBLA Awards: Braid can't rewind loss to Castle Crashers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 23 Mar 2009 18:52:00 EST. Capcom's talking about HD remixing some more titles following the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-sells-250k-units/">success</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>. Capcom VP Christian Svensson tells <a href="http://www.videogamer.com/news/capcom_were_not_done_with_hd_remixes.html">VideoGamer</a> that not every game needs it, but the company is going to "potentially" apply the formula to other fighting games in the company's catalog. Next time, however, it plans do it "better, based on what [it] learned" -- which we'll take to mean <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-for-xbla-announced/">cutting down development time</a>.<br /><br />When asked if <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-2">Marvel vs. Capcom 2</a></em> would be HD-ified, Svensson commented that it's probably the title fans request the most, but he has no news to share about that. We know retro <em>Mega Man</em> is <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mega-man-9">en vogue</a>, but an HD remix of <em>Mega Man 2</em> could be interesting.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix/">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix/#1167186"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/11/sc1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix/#1110108"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix/#1110107"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix/#1110106"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix/#1110105"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/12/capcom-not-done-with-hd-remixing/">Capcom not done with HD Remixing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 Mar 2009 17:30:00 EST. We love art of all kinds, and we're glad to report that Gallery Nucleus and I am 8-bit are teaming up to present a <em>Street Fighter</em> art exhibition in Alhambra, California from April 25 - May 11. There you'll be able to check out some contributions from Udon, the wonderful folks behind <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/SSFIITHDR"><em>SSFIITHDR</em></a>, and enjoy some of the festivities going down outside of looking at art. These activities include:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Cosplay contest (show up in cosplay, get 15% off store purchases, excluding already discounted goods)</li>
    <li><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv">Street Fighter IV</a> </em>tournament hosted by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/03/evo-2009-championship-series-coming-to-las-vegas-in-july/">EVO</a> (first place wins a cool $500)</li>
    <li>Raffle (free ticket for first 100 guests, $1 each after that)</li>
    <li>Free refreshments</li>
    <li>Music by Ronikus</li>
</ul>
Sounds like a good time. We had fun at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/16/joystiq-at-the-street-fighter-iv-launch-party/">our last Capcom party</a>, so we're guessing this one will also be a hoot. We've just received word from Capcom that the ever-elusive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> will finally be available in Europe this week. It'll arrive this Thursday during the normal PSN update and will cost you &pound;11.99/&euro;14.99. The high-def remake arrives just one day before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a>. Jolly good show. <br /><br />Considering that <em>IV</em> is such a return to form for the series, is there really any point in grabbing both? Especially when Play.com is selling it for <a href="http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/5816874/Street-Fighter-IV/Product.html">less than &pound;30</a>. Bargain!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/18/street-fighter-hd-coming-to-europe-this-week/">Street Fighter II HD coming to Europe this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Feb 2009 09:00:00 EST. Fighting game fanatics, wonderful news comes courtesy of our good friends at Capcom: <a href="http://evo2k.com/">EVO 2009 is on</a>! For those of you who aren't in the know, EVO is a huge fighting game tournament open to gamers from around the world. It's also <a href="http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&amp;search_query=evo+championship+series+capcom&amp;aq=f">an awesome search term on YouTube</a>. This year's tournament will go down in Las Vegas from July 17 to July 19 and will feature a variety of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/capcom">Capcom</a> games, as well as some other notable fighters like <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soul-calibur-iv">Soulcalibur IV</a></em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/27/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-coming-to-ps2-psp-and-wii/"><em>Guilty Gear XX Accent Core</em></a>. The Capcom games to be featured include:<br />
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a></li>
    <li><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/28/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-patch-on-the-way/">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</a> </em>(single and teams)<br /></li>
    <li><em>Marvel Vs. Capcom 2</em></li>
    <li><em>Street Fighter III: Third Strike </em>(2 vs 2 teams)</li>
    <li><a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/tag/tatsunoko-vs-capcom"><em>Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom</em></a></li>
</ul>
Sounds like quite the tournament, and we're very glad to see <em>Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom</em> getting some love. We're still holding out hope that it'll get localized some day, as unrealistic as that may be.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2009/02/02/the_mother_of_all_fighting_game_competitions_is_back_evo_2009">Capcom Blog</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/03/evo-2009-championship-series-coming-to-las-vegas-in-july/">EVO 2009 Championship Series coming to Las Vegas in July</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Feb 2009 12:21:00 EST. After typing <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</a></em> so many times, we finally swore to ourselves that we would never, ever buy the game. Go figure. Although American players have been able to enjoy <em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em> for quite some time now, European PS3 owners have been left in the dark. We've heard the cries before: "blame Sony," <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/20/publishers-continue-to-blame-scee-for-missing-european-psn-relea/">they'd say</a>.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.thepsn.co.uk/2009/01/26/street-fighter-ii-hd-stuck-in-sony-qa/">thePSN.co.uk</a> had a chat with Capcom UK <strike>Leo Tan</strike> [<strong>Update: </strong>Leo Tan has <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/news/capcom%E2%80%AD-%E2%80%9C%E2%80%ACmisrepresented%E2%80%AD%E2%80%9D-%E2%80%AC-sfhd-delay-claims">denied</a> making the comments, while thePSN has professed to name-checking "the wrong person at Capcom."] to find out why SCEE is denying release of the game. According to the alleged representative, Capcom has already submitted the game to SCEE twice. However, SCEE is declining release of the game, noting "faults and other problems." Supposedly, the game must be "redone."<br /><br />Capcom is working on yet another version to submit to SCEE "within three weeks." We find it quite strange that, in spite of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-sells-250k-units/">successful release</a> in the US, Sony's European counterpart has become the sole roadblock in this game's worldwide release. Certainly, there must be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/trophies">some reason</a> for the constant delays.<br /><br />[Thanks, Alex E.!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/27/scee-blocks-street-fighter-hd-release-due-to-faults-and-other-p/">Rumor: SCEE blocks Street Fighter HD release due to 'faults and other problems'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Jan 2009 18:15:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II HD Remix</em></a>, according to associate product manager John Diamonon, has <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/johndmoney/blog/2008/12/18/super_street_fighter_ii_turbo_hd_remix_achieves_record_breaking_sales">sold in excess of 250,000 copies</a> and is "on its way to becoming the highest grossing digital title ever." Diamonon states that the game has already broken both day one and week one records -- the game debuted November 25 and 26 on PSN and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/XBLA/">XBLA</a>, respectively -- and he adds that the game is likely to best the 30 day record as well. Diamonon proceeds to thank everyone involved, stating that the game was "a labor of love for everyone involved" and then thanks the fans themselves for keeping the title "relevant" for well over a decade.<br /><br />There's a lesson here, kids. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/07/sfii-is-the-fastest-sellng-xbla-game-ever/">Nostalgia sells</a>, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/street-fighter-ii-hd-best-trailer-ever/">high definition nostalgia</a> <em>really</em> sells.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/street-fighter-ii-hd-breaks-records-over-250k-sold/">Street Fighter II HD breaks records, over 250K sold</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Dec 2008 17:00:00 EST. If you've been playing (deep breath) <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> lately, chances are you've been positively <em>rocking out</em> to the revamped soundtrack. As it turns out, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/">Capcom</a> actually partnered with <a href="http://ocremix.org">Overclocked Remix</a>, a website that specializes in remixing game music, to create the soundtrack for <em>SSFIITHDR</em>. Gamers from all over the planet supplied the tracks for the soundtrack, and now OC Remix is <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2008/12/03/complete_sf_hd_remix_soundtrack_free_from_ocremix">giving away the entire soundtrack</a> for free. That's precisely <em>zero</em> dollars. The soundtrack is being offered both as a full album download and as individual MP3s of each track. So, head over to OC Remix and get yourself some free music.<br /><br /><em>Note: As of this writing, we've had trouble getting the OC Remix site to load.</em><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2008/12/03/complete_sf_hd_remix_soundtrack_free_from_ocremix">Capcom-Unity</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/free-sfii-hd-remix-soundtrack-get/">Free SFII HD Remix soundtrack get!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Dec 2008 12:30:00 EST. Maybe it's just us but <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Super-Street-Fighter-II-HD-Remix/">Super Street Fighter II HD Remix</a></em> looks hella pretty. Pretty perfect, actually. Unfortunately some videophiles may not agree as news has come out that <em>SSFIIHDR</em> upscales in-game character sprites and crops backgrounds when played in 16:9 wide screen. According to notorious pixel counters <a href="http://www.digitalfoundry.org/blog/?p=273">Digital Foundry</a>, <em>SSFIIHDR</em> is scaling characters and cropping backgrounds because the game was developed to be played old school, that is to say using 4:3 aspect ratio. While we like our games pretty we just don't see enough issue and it becomes even less apparent while you're playing the game. Videophiles have a right to know, though.<br /> <br /> [via <a href="http://www.gamersglobal.com/news/1456">GamersGlobal</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/30/super-street-fighter-ii-hd-looks-slightly-less-appealing-to-som/">Super Street Fighter II HD looks slightly less appealing, to some</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 30 Nov 2008 14:45:00 EST. After its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/14/capcoms-four-new-xbla-titles/">official announcement well over a year ago</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> is finally landing on Xbox Live Arcade. For the always controversial price of 1200 Microsoft Points, you get a completely redrawn cast of characters and a while slew of reworked backgrounds. Let's not forget the game comes with some revamped tunes as well. Oh, and of course there's the (reportedly) improved netcode too, which will hopefully smooth out those online wrinkles.<br /><br />Go <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802584108a4/">get the trial game</a> and tell us what you think. Was it worth the wait? For that matter, is it worth the scratch? Basically, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/street-fighter-ii-hd-best-trailer-ever/">is it the best around</a>?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/26/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-dragon-punches-xbla/">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix dragon punches XBLA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Nov 2008 09:45:00 EST. Blessed be this day, for soon we may never have to type out "<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>" again. Optimistically, it's just this PSN post, maybe one tomorrow about the Xbox 360 version on XBLA, and hopefully one more after that when Capcom finally <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/25/street-fighter-hd-delayed-for-european-psn/">announces the PSN European release</a>. <br /><br />What certainly should not be overlooked in today's <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/11/25/playstation-store-update-62/">update</a> is the PSN price promotion that offers excellent titles like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pixeljunk-eden"><span style="font-style: italic;">PixelJunk Eden</span></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/echochrome"><span style="font-style: italic;">echochrome</span></a> at a measly $5 -- for a limited time! Capcom has confirmed that <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> has been <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/news/street-fighter-hd-delayed-uk-psn">delayed</a> for the European PSN. There is currently no official release date for the title in the region and no explanation was given for the hold up. <br /><br />North America is still expected to get the title today with its special Tuesday edition of the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/psn-thursday">PSN update</a> (due to the Thanksgiving holiday). European Xbox 360 owners should still be able to pick up the game when it launches on XBLA tomorrow.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (10/21/08)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110108"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110107"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110106"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110105"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110104"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Via <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/11/25/street-fighter-hd-without-a-release-date-in-europe/#comments">PS3 Fanboy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/25/street-fighter-hd-delayed-for-european-psn/">Street Fighter HD delayed for European PSN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Nov 2008 13:00:00 EST. <div align="left">We sense a trend developing here. Following its offering of the retro-inspired <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/17/capcom-creates-retro-mazing-mega-man-9-packaging/"><em>Mega Man 9 </em>press kit</a> to the general public via its online store - albeit in <em>extremely </em>limited quantities - Capcom is about to do the same with its promotional materials for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfthdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>, which hits PSN tomorrow and XBLA on Wednesday, Nov. 26.<br /><br />The kit - which, apart from its box art featuring The Incredible Hulk as Ryu - is replete with <em>SSFIITHDR</em> goodies, including "Ryu's headband," an art disc, a special game tie-in comic by Udon, character magnets, and a Chun-LI figurine that's limited to 1,000 pieces. Capcom is planning to make around 300 of the kits available to those not in the gaming press, so keep its <a href="http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcomus/DisplayStoreHomePage">internet storefont</a> bookmarked and refresh often.</div>

<div align="left">Now that we have a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/19/capcoms-screenshot-reveals-street-fighter-hd-remix-release-date/">release date</a>, Capcom decided it to be the opportune time to <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/11/20/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-cometh/">announce the pricing</a> for remake <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>. Deep breath, because it isn't cheap.<br /></div>
</div>
<br />According to Capcom's John Dianomon, <em>SSFIITHDR </em>will release to the Playstation 3's PSN for (drum roll) $14.99. True, this isn't an official price announcement for <em>Street Fighter</em> on the XBLA, but unless Capcom decides to sell it for a different price on each network, we think it's a safe bet that <em>Street Fighter </em>will cost Xbox gamers 1200 Microsoft points. A bit expensive, but re-drawing old sprites is no cheap task.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/56026">Shacknews</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/21/street-fighter-ii-hd-pricing-semi-announced/">Street Fighter II HD pricing semi-announced </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 Nov 2008 08:45:00 EST. <div align="left">Confirming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/18/rumor-super-street-fighter-ii-hd-coming-to-xbla-nov-26/">yesterday's rumor</a> that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> will be making its long-awaited debut on Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday, November 26th, Capcom has also officially dated the PS3 version - for a day earlier, on Tuesday, November 25th. The PS3 version of the game will also come with a exclusive, free bonus: hip-hop tracks inspired by <em>Street Fighter </em>from DJ Qbert, Redman, Hieroglyphics, and others as a digital album download.<br /><br />PSN releases have historically been "locked" to Thursdays - much as XBL releases hit on Wednesdays - so is this a sign of change? Not likely, as Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 27, making this an exception to the "rule." <div align="left">Either intentionally or unintentionally, Capcom announced (<a href="http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55985">using a screenshot</a>, no less) that November 26th is the release date for their upcoming XBLA release <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>.<br /></div>

<br />Yes sir, in their press release regarding the new NXE <em>Street Fighter</em> "branded destination experience", they included a screenshot that spills the release date beans. This week's PlayStation Store update will bring with it the first storefront dedicated to a notably proficient publisher. As of Thursday, November 13th, PSN users will be able to access a <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/11/10/new-department-at-the-playstation-store-the-capcom-storefront/">Capcom-branded section</a>, a convenient repository for all things <em>Mega Man</em>, <em>Street Fighter</em> and <em>Bionic Commando</em>. It's where you'll find this week's pirate-infested arrr-ival, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/age-of-booty"><em>Age of Booty</em></a>, as well as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/10/capcom-reveals-length-of-sony-approval-process/">upcoming</a>, beefed-up brawler, <em>Super Stunning Ultra Street Fighter II Turbo Special HD Championship Mega Radical Remix</em>.<br /><br />[Thanks, Chris]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/11/capcoms-psn-storefront-opening-on-nov-13/">Capcom's PSN storefront opening on Nov. 13 </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Nov 2008 12:20:00 EST. <div align="left">Nope, you didn't misread the title. Capcom's <em>Street Fighter 2</em> will be making its way to Xbox Live Arcade game <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pinball-fx">Pinball FX</a> </em>on November 12th ... in the form of a <a href="http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55752">new pinball table</a>.<br /></div>
</div>
<br />The new Ryu and Ken themed table will head to the Marketplace to coincide with the release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> in November and will include original music and sound effects from the <em>Street Fighter</em> franchise. It'll also feature a bunch of combos, tournaments and a final boss battle where you duke it out with M. Bison and totally geek out in a euphoric <em>Street Fighter </em>fit. Capcom has yet to announce pricing details.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/05/street-fighter-2-comes-to-pinball-fx/">Street Fighter 2 comes to ... <div align="left">"<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/street-fighter-2-hd-coming-very-soon-says-capcom/">Very soon</a>" could very well mean "this month" for the release of Capcom's HD remix of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo</em></a> on PSN and XBLA, according to an official <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/5064868/Do_we_get_it_at_the_same_time_SFIIHDREMIX&amp;post_num=6#126738443">forum post</a> by Christian Svensson, the company's VP of strategic planning &amp; business development. <br /><br />Svensson confirmed that the game is finished and has been submitted to both Microsoft and Sony for approval, but that one or both versions could get bumped if the process hits any snags. "November is indeed the target month," he said, while cautioning that, "It is possible for us to bounce the submission on one and not the other which would cause the release to potentially not be simultaneous and still be released in November on one of the two."<br /><br /></div>

<div align="left"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> has been in development for quite a while and even after a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/25/ssfiithdr-beta-is-now-live/">beta test</a> we still don't have a firm release date. Capcom is secretive, that's just how they roll. So, when our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/street-fighter-2-hd-coming-very-soon-says-capcom/">Joystiq</a> pals received a teaser email from team Capcom proclaiming that <em>SSFIITHDR </em>would be releasing to the Xbox Live Arcade "very soon", our inner <em>Street Fighter</em> fanboy was tickled with excitement.<br /><br />Exactly how soon is "very soon"? We dunno, but sooner or later we'll know what "very soon" means and will soon have <em>SSFIITHDR </em>... soon.</div>

As if sensing our growing impatience, its size nearly eclipsing that of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssf2hd"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>'s elaborate title, Capcom has sent out an e-mail assuring -- nay, <em>promising</em> -- that the graphically remade brawler would arrive on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network "very soon." <br /><br />And when is that, exactly? Well, perhaps it'll be out by the time you've finished perusing the twenty new screenshots, featuring Cammy, Zangief and Blanka landing high-definition blows, below. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (10/21/08)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110108"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110107"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110106"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110105"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/#1110104"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/super-sf2-turbo-hd-remix-1021-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/street-fighter-2-hd-coming-very-soon-says-capcom/">Street Fighter 2 HD coming 'very soon,' says Capcom</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Oct 2008 15:15:00 EST. <div align="left">PS3 fans haven't heard any news in regards to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/super-street-fighter"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a> in a long, long time. Xbox 360 owners had <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/13/hd-street-fighter-ii-beta-no-shows-psn-still-looks-great-though/">a chance to participate in the beta</a>, but it was <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/06/26/sf-beta-has-issues-but-no-patch-will-be-released/">plagued with problems that were never fixed</a>, if that makes you feel any better. The lack of news has lead some to conclude the game has been delayed; but fear not, in an interview with <a href="http://streetfighterblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/street-fighter-blog-interviews-rey.html">The Street Fighter Blog</a>, associate producer Rey Jimenez reveals the game is on track for a 2008 release. "We're on track to release the game this year and barring any unforeseen catastrophic event, that should not be changing." He also told <em>SF</em> fans to expect an announcement of the exact release date shortly.<br /><br />Other elements covered in the interview range from the possibility extra characters via DLC (not happening) to whether the fighters will have their original colors selectable (yes, they will be). The entire interview can be read <a href="http://streetfighterblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/street-fighter-blog-interviews-rey.html">here</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.capcomdigital.com/blog/2008/09/15/super_street_fighter_ii_turbo_hd_remix_producer_interview">Capcom Digital</a>]</div>

Although it appears to be missing its summer release window, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr/">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</a></em> is apparently in the "home stretch" according to Rey Jimenez, the game's associate producer. <br /><br />In an interview with the <a href="http://streetfighterblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/street-fighter-blog-interviews-rey.html">Street Fighter Blog</a>, Jimenez explains that the title is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/08/street-fighter-ii-hd-beta-gets-bandaged/">"closing out all the bugs" from the open beta</a> and "other open issues." He believes that "barring any unforeseen catastrophic event," the game should be out this year. Given how jam-packed this holiday season is already, maybe a delay wouldn't be so "catastrophic" at this point.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2008/09/15/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-still-lives-still-coming-out-this-year/">Siliconera</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/16/super-street-fighter-ii-thdr-on-track-for-2008/">Super Street Fighter II THDR on track for 2008</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Sep 2008 12:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr/"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em>'s</a> recently <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/25/super-street-fighter-ii-hd-beta-gets-time-extension/">extended</a> "open beta" got a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/capcom-patching-ssfiithdr-open-beta-after-all/">technical hadouken</a> this morning, addressing a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/27/super-street-fighter-ii-hd-beta-borked-but-fun/">number of the issues</a> faced by the redrawn brawler, from connection lapses to frozen consoles. Other changes include Ken's newly-nerfed dragon punch, while Capcom says that the overall online experience has seen around a 50% improvement. <br /><br />Notes <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/jimmyrey/blog/2008/08/07/sf_hd_remix_open_beta_patch_is_up_today">a post on the company's blog,</a> "While we can't do anything about high ping times, we've optimized the gameplay experience so that it's less noticeable and smoother," some of which can be seen <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/avidmarxist/blog/2008/07/24/sfii_beta_patch_in_action">in video form here</a>. Still, those pining for more characters to pummel will be left wanting. According to Capcom, adding additional fighters was "technically not possible for the patch." We'll just have to wait until we get our thumbs on the full game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/27/cammy-see-more-ssfiithdr-characters/">to get our Cammy on</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/08/street-fighter-ii-hd-beta-gets-bandaged/">Street Fighter II HD beta gets bandaged</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Aug 2008 15:15:00 EST. The patch will insta-download once the beta is launched and, once applied, will fix various bugs and gameplay issues including a 50% improvement in the overall net code. Sadly, the patch doesn't treat us to any new fighters or ratchet up the re-playability quotient. Shucks to that.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/08/ssfiithdr-bandage-applied-net-code-improved/">SSFIITHDR bandage applied, net code improved</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Aug 2008 13:00:00 EST. Maybe that was the initial plan, but now Capcom has had a change of heart by extending the beta window. September 5th is the <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=202375">new beta end date</a> which we suspect the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/ssfiithdr-beta-getting-patched-details-incoming/">promised patch</a> has something to do with. Speaking of patch, if you haven't already checked it out, the Capcom folks outlined all the <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/avidmarxist/blog/2008/07/24/sfii_beta_patch_in_action">updates and changes</a> that'll be implemented. Have a happy August.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/patched-ssfiithdr-beta-extended-into-sept/">Patched SSFIITHDR beta extended into Sept</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 12:30:00 EST. <div align="left">Just a matter of days after revealing that it will be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/capcom-patching-ssfiithdr-open-beta-after-all/">patching</a> various <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/27/super-street-fighter-ii-hd-beta-borked-but-fun/">problems</a> with the "open beta" of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithdr"><em>SSFIITDHR</em></a> after all, Capcom has offered a second helping of fan service by extending the beta through September 5. The beta was originally slated to conclude on August 20.<br /><br />The extra play time is clearly in response to the forthcoming patch, which the <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/avidmarxist/blog/2008/07/25/sfii_beta_has_endurance__extended_to_september_5th">most recent post</a> on Capcom's blog states is still "coming soon." A second, <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/avidmarxist/blog/2008/07/24/sfii_beta_patch_in_action">earlier post</a> on the site details some of the fixes due in the patch, including the elimination of nasty crashes when joining matches and the removal of Ken's cheesy strong Dragon Punch "juggle" bug. We look forward to finally getting in some actual quality time with the beta soon. </div>
