The season pass will cost players $39.99 and enable access to the game's first five DLC packs, which will include a new playable alien species, along with lots of new weapons, vehicles, missions, and other rewards. Plus, pass buyers get two bonus items: a digital Hellbug combat cap, and an extra Lock Box (which is a sealed container in the game for a chance at another item).<br /><br />The $39.99 is in addition to the game's initial purchase price ($59.99, or $99.99 for the deluxe edition). <em>Defiance</em> won't have a subscription fee, and this price is 20 percent off what the DLC will cost in total.<br /><br />The <em>Defiance</em> game will be launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on April 2, while the TV show will start on April 15.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/08/trion-offering-a-defiance-season-pass-with-dlc-new-species-and/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Trion offering a Defiance season pass with DLC, new species, and more</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/08/trion-offering-a-defiance-season-pass-with-dlc-new-species-and/">Trion offering a Defiance season pass with DLC, new species, and more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Mar 2013 01:00:00 EST. The brash bad boy director of <em>Rush Hour</em> fame is adapting Zynga's game for television. Ratner will serve as executive producer on the half-hour animated series, aided by Canadian television production firm Six Eleven Media.<br /><br /><span>"<em>FarmVille</em> is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless," </span>Ratner said in a statement to the <a href="http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2013/02/07/brett-ratner-brings-farmville-game-to-television/">Wall Street Journal</a>.<span> "I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience." </span><br /><br />Zynga is no stranger to cross-promotion, having already struck up a deal with Hasbro to produce <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/04/hasbros-zynga-board-games-now-available-paradoxical/">a line of board games</a> based on its properties last year, one of which was - you guessed it - <em>Farmville</em>. Zynga also just reported <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/05/zynga-posts-209-4-million-loss-for-2012/">a $209.4 million loss</a> for 2012, subsequently <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/06/zynga-closing-three-games-including-cityville-2/">shutting down three of its games</a>, including <em>CityVille 2</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/07/brett-ratner-buddies-up-with-zynga-on-farmville-animated-series/">Brett Ratner buddies up with Zynga on Farmville animated series</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Feb 2013 19:15:00 EST. According to the source, the project is being helmed by <a href="http://tjallard.com">TJ "Ocman" Allard</a>, a former Ubisoft designer. His co-host is <a href="http://audreycleo.com/">Audrey Cleo</a>, who currently works on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/qore">Qore</a>. The team is currently editing footage recorded at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/e3">E3</a> for the pilot, including interviews with Kinect's Kudo Tsunoda and <em>Mortal Kombat</em>'s Ed Boon.<br />
<br />
Specific details, like a show name and distribution, have yet to be settled upon. However, our source says that the working title is currently "Game On." The pilot -- planned for primetime -- may even premiere as early as next month.
